Today is the 60th anniversary of C. S. Lewis and JFK’s deaths. It was the day before Doctor Who first episode “An Unearthly Child” aired.

I still think there was more than one gunman. The other was in the grassy knoll. Made a whole essay on it. Got an 89.

My mom’s aunt was glued to the TV screen when she saw Lee Harvey Oswald get shot.

Book Review #13 (Feb. 25, 2023)

The book above is titled The First Kennedys: The Humble Roots of an American Dynasty. It was written by Neal Thomson and was finished in 2021. This book unlike many other books about the Kennedys focuses on the great-grandparents and grandparents of John F. Kennedy. The first portion of the book writes about the great-grandparents and their journey to America. The second portion focuses on P.J or John F. Kennedy's grandfather.

I unexpectedly enjoyed this book. It was interesting to look at party politics in Boston. It was also interesting to see what Irish immigrants were subject to before they had power within the government. It touched on the Irish in the Civil War as well as anti-immigrant attitudes in Boston.

The writing for this book was clear and introduced concepts that are easy to remember. I wished that there was a little more criticism of the Irish and the cartel that was created around party politics.

I would have given this book four stars because it was interesting and easy to follow. I wish it criticized some aspects of the voting system a little more.
