H. Hhhh. Hi. I don't know if you'd want to/be okay with this but. But. But
🤝 with Skaide 🥺
(If not then Jaide/Moonjumper with the same prompt! It's totally okay if you do this one instead)
Grins :)
For everyone who doesn’t know, Sky belongs to the asker here, and is zeir AHiT OC! Sky and Jaide have been shipped (only in an rp so far, but now also in this drabble) <3
At first I figured that I wouldn’t know how to characterize Sky, and then I realized…I just didn’t have to.
So! Sorry, this one is shorter than the Hollow Knight one, but I think it’s sweet :)
Words: 215
Characters: Jaide (My OC) and Sky (Friend’s OC)
Warnings: None :) Just some introspection on Jaide’s bitter loneliness and how she loves
Together, Jaide decided, that’s how I want things to be.
It felt…nice…to be together. For their palms to be together, fingers interlocked, the contact sending emotional shivers through Jaide’s soul.
When had she last had softer thoughts like this? How long ago had it been since she sat back and thought to herself that she liked something? At least centuries, if not decades.
That was a lonely way to spend an afterlife, but all of that was erased in the face of someone who had no concept of time. With Sky by her side, time waned away, and the massive expanse of time Jaide had existed seemed like nothing.
Jaide had been alone for all that time. She’d been cold for all that time. She’d never met anyone in all that time. She’d never held hands in all that time. All that time made one forget what it menat to be together…
…but Sky could easily remind Jaide.
And the reminder was nice.
When had she last had happy thoughts like this?
Perhaps a bit greedily, Jaide took Sky’s other hand. It wasn’t enough for one of their hands to be touching, she needed two. Jaide smiled gently, eyes brimming with tears, giving Sky’s palm a gentle squeeze.
She hoped they would be together forever.

Festival
had motivation, and instead of working on my wips, i wrote a thing with Li Miao and Lei Mu (two of my LMK OC’s) instead.
Word Count: 1.4k
“Li Miao.”
Silence.
“Li Miaooooo.”
More silence.
Lei Mu poked his sibling in the face. Li Miao’s eyelids twitched, but outside from that, they did not move, nor wake up.
“Li Miao, c’mon.”
Another poke. Another small twitch.
“Li Miao.”
A hand shot up to wrap around his before he could poke them again.
“Meigui.” Li Miao said, voice groggy, “If you poke me one more time, I’m going to kick you off the bed.”
“But, Li Miao-” Lei Mu let out a sigh as Li Miao rolled over, pulling his bedsheets over his head. “Li Miao, you-”
“Shhhhhhhhh talk to the… light.” Li Miao drowsily waved a finger, a faint tiny light appearing to hover in front of Lei Mu’s face. Lei Mu pouted.
“The light isn’t the one who promised me we’d sneak out to the festival toniGHT-” Lei Mu cut himself off with a muffled shriek as Li Miao abruptly sat up, almost whacking Lei Mu on the head from the proximity as he threw his blankets off of himself, obviously frazzled.
“That’s tonight? Lei Mu, why didn’t you remind me???” They whisper-yelled, getting out of their bed to rapidly start pulling on their boots. Lei Mu, who had already gotten dressed, remained in his position of kneeling on the edge of his twin’s bed.
“Because you’ve been avoiding me all day.” He said, crossing his arms. Li Miao froze for a split second.
“...Don’t know what you’re talking about. Anyways!” They slipped a coat over their shoulders, and dropped Lei Mu’s coat on top of his head, causing Lei Mu to struggle to pull it off as they walked past him to the window and easily slid it open. “You ready to go?”
Lei Mu narrowed his eyes at him, and Li Miao did his best not to squirm under his brother’s gaze. After another second or two, Lei Mu stood up, swinging his coat on, and gave Li Miao a quick nod. That being all the confirmation they needed, Li Miao swung one leg out the window, and quickly jumped to the ground, before turning around to help Lei Mu down as well. Briefly, the two of them glanced back at the house to see if there was any movement from their parents room, and upon seeing that there wasn’t, quickly walked off in the direction of the nearby town as fast as they could.
-
Lei Mu was enjoying the festival.
Truly, he was.
It wasn’t very often that he got to go to a festival after all, especially one of the winter ones. Usually he was sick and unable to leave the house. He must’ve gotten lucky this year, feeling perfectly fine.
And yet, he couldn’t help but feel like something was off.
Part of it was mainly that he felt like he was doing a lot more talking than usual. Normally, Li Miao would take over when it came to talking to vendors and things, Lei Mu was usually too quiet to be heard. Surrounded by the festival’s energy however, Lei Mu felt enough confidence to speak a little bit louder. Even so, he felt like Li Miao should be speaking more than this. Upon thinking about it, had he seen Li Miao talk to anyone during the half-hour they’d been at the festival?
He couldn’t be sure he had.
And that’s mainly due to the other part that was making Lei Mu feel like something isn’t right, Li Miao wasn’t walking beside him. Normally, they’d walk at the same pace, side by side, but ever since they had left the house, Li Miao had fallen behind to walk a few paces behind Lei Mu. He was definitely avoiding him. Or well, avoiding him without actually avoiding him, if that made any sense.
Lei Mu wanted to ask why. But with all of these people around, he definitely didn’t want to make a scene.
He nibbled slowly on a piece of… whatever that last vendor had given him (he wasn’t sure honestly, he hadn’t checked, he’d just bought it on instinct and Li Miao hadn’t stopped him so… It was probably fine), considering the events of the day.
Thinking back on it…
Lei Mu stopped in the middle of the street. Moments after, Li Miao walked right into his back, making him stumble, almost falling over if he hadn’t steadied himself at the last moment. Turning around, he found that Li Miao had already taken two steps away from him, a worried look on his face.
“Sorry Meigui, I didn’t notice you stop-” Li Miao paused mid-sentence, registering the way Lei Mu seemed to be analyzing them. “...What? What is it?”
“...Are you feeling okay?”
Li Miao blinked for a moment, the question processing.
“......Uh- Oh, hey- look, I think that game up ahead looks interesting!! And hey, that stall over there is selling lemon tarts, your favourite!!”
Lei Mu wasn’t going to let Li Miao’s attempts at distractions work on him. Not this time.
…Okay, so maybe he turned around and went and bought a lemon tart (or two… or three…) immediately, but that’s not important.
Turning back to his sibling, Lei Mu took a bite out of his lemon tart, and proceeded to point at Li Miao accusingly.
“You’re sick.”
“What? Sorry, I couldn’t hear you over this crowd. Hey, wanna get some of those candies that guy is selling?”
Yes, Lei Mu did, in fact, want to get some of those candies, but that wasn’t important right now.
“Li Miao.”
“Uh- um- Look!! There’s dancers over there, pretty cool huh??”
“Li Miao.”
Li Miao steadily seemed to be getting more nervous as the conversation went on, looking left and right, seemingly searching for an out. A couple people momentarily glanced at them as they walked by, but for the most part, the twins were ignored by the crowd around them.
“Just- look it’s nothing okay.”
“Li Miao-”
“Talktothelight.” Li Miao said rapidly, holding up his hand, attempting to summon a faint light like he had earlier.
All they produced were a couple of sparkles, and it was all the proof that Lei Mu needed.
“Right.” He said, “We’re going home.”
He stepped forwards, and tried to lift Li Miao up over his shoulder, the way Li Miao normally did for him when they needed to escape a situation. He only managed to lift Li Miao up a couple of inches however, and quickly gave up, instead wrapping a hand around his twin’s wrist and starting to walk in the direction of home. Li Miao didn’t resist being dragged, stumbling along behind him, but he did make a noise of displeasure.
“But- the festival-” Paying attention to them now, Lei Mu could see Li Miao muffle some coughs behind their hand before starting again. “You really wanted to go to the festival-”
“And I went, and I got some lemon tarts.” Lei Mu said, “Pretty solid festival experience if you ask me, now let's get you home-”
“Ay, Li Miao! Your brother try to sneak out to the festival while sick again?!” Someone shouted, and Lei Mu and Li Miao both froze, before sharing a moment of silent agreement, Lei Mu straightening up a bit more, while Li Miao slouched down as someone approached them, one of the regulars at their parent’s bakery it seemed. Lei Mu was blanking on the name. Li Miao probably knew who it was, they were always the more social of the two, but Lei Mu could probably get through a short conversation without revealing that he had no idea who this was.
“Uh, yeah!” He said, trying his best to pitch his voice more confidently like Li Miao’s was. “Only realized it once we were down here, so I’m taking him back home.”
“Ah, probably a good thing, yes? I remember the last time Lei Mu came down here while sick-” The person started- and proceeded to go on… and on about the last time Lei Mu had tried to come to a festival. In intense detail.
Out of the corner of his vision, Lei Mu could see Li Miao muffle laughter behind his hand, ending it with some more coughing. He lightly dug his nails into their wrist a little to make them jump in retribution.
About a minute passed.
And the person… kept going.
Lei Mu lightly bit his tongue as the person kept talking about the embarrassing stuff Lei Mu had done at the last festival. He could feel his face getting warmer as they continued, and he swapped from biting on his tongue to biting his lip-
Li Miao’s fake hiccup was luckily loud enough to cover up Lei Mu’s very real one. And, thankfully, it was enough to shock the person out of talking.
“Oh, sorry.” The person said, “That must still be embarrassing for you, huh?”
Li Miao didn’t respond, instead doing exactly what Lei Mu wanted to do by ducking his head and hiding his face. The difference between the two of them was that Lei Mu was fairly sure Li Miao was actually doing it to hide his laughter.
“Uh- yeah, okay- well, I need to get him home so-” Lei Mu said, starting to move around the person, relieved when they stepped to the side to let him pass.
“Sorry for keeping you!” They called after him as he walked away.
It was only when they got a fair distance away from the town that Lei Mu slouched back down.
And Li Miao burst out into loud laughter, interspersed with coughs.
“Shut up.” Lei Mu hissed, letting go of Li Miao’s wrist in order to smack them on the shoulder, his blush returning in full force. “You’re sick-hic!”
“C’mon Meigui, you gotta admit that was a lil funny.” Li Miao said, wheezing a little as he tried to catch his breath, struggling to walk in time with Lei Mu as he wobbled a little, Lei Mu having to balance him slightly as they got closer to their house.
“As soon as morning’s here, I’m gonna tell mom and dad that you’re sicker than a dog and fell outta bed during the night.” Lei Mu said, “And then I’m going to let them fret over you while I sneak out again to get some discounted stuff from the leftover vendors.”
“Mm, don’t think that plan’s gonna work, Meigui.” Li Miao said, pointing at their house. Lei Mu glanced up to see that their parents bedroom light, as well as the kitchen light, were on.
…Their parents had definitely found out that they’d snuck out.
Lei Mu and Li Miao glanced at each other with twin looks of nervous fear.
They were doomed.
(To an entire week of doing the dishes, that is).
