All this in the nation that taught the world "the #australiancrawl", that invented the #bathingsuit as we know it, and which, on a per capita basis, has 4 times the pool victories than any nation on earth. PRIDE has been created to strengthen #Australians, by strengthening their cities' built connections to #pools, then take what we've learned to the world. This will be happening through a range of initiatives that we look forward to announcing in coming months. Mahon Pool Sunrise | Maroubra Beach | 15.7.2017

We arrived at Jack Vanny Reserve and looked down upon Mahon Pool just as first light of the day crept over the waters. Built in 1932 in an open spot on a rock platform, this ocean pool is located 500m north of Maroubra Beach. Except for the ocassional ripples of the swimmers, the water was still like a pane of blue-green glass. Sunrise was short lived, but breathed pink and orange life into the stormy sea clouds.
