Interview: Lotte Wakeham - The Book Thief 📚 The world’s first stage adaptation of Markus Zusak’s The Book Thief will open at @octagontheatre next month. To celebrate we’ve spoken with Artistic Director Lotte Wakeham to discuss how it feels to be bringing a best-selling novel to life.

The musical adaptation of The Book Thief has announced its full creative team. This beloved book is brought to life by award-winning author Jodi Picoult and Timothy Allen McDonald. [working title] @corinnadschoto Preview: Saturday, 24th November 2018 from 2.00pm - 6.00pm #neostudios is delighted to announce: [working title], a solo exhibition by Corinna D’Schoto, the 2018 three month neo:artist-in-residence. Corinna D’Schoto [b. 1987, USA] works predominantly in painting, sculpture & installation. D’Schoto is interested in the physicality of painting and the after-life of image. In her work she often explores ways to reinterpret and redefine spaces that can be both familiar and alien. D’Schoto received her BFA in 2013 in Sculpture and Painting from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, her MFA in 2018 from @glasgowschoolart. In [working title] #workingtitle D’Schoto plays with the object-hood of painting, through exploring and expanding flat systems and structures used to represent images, bodies, spaces, and ideas- and how these representations both inform and form identity and place. Her work plays with the distortion and disorientation that occur when pulling these things apart; pushing perspective shifts in relation to the body and to the object. These shifts call into question the navigated experience of memory and the (re)interpretation of form and space. D’Schoto uses color and form to simplify, abstract, and highlight these relationships within a contained space. We're seeking out innovative and groundbreaking short films from independent film-makers. News: Jack & the Beanstalk Auditions The Octagon Theatre, in partnership with Evolution Productions, is looking for girls to be part of the Juvenile Ensemble and for their spectacular pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, which will run at the theatre this Christmas. The audition will take place at 11.00am on 21st September at The Octagon Theatre. To audition you must be between 8-15yrs inclusive on 1st Sept on 2014. The audition will end at approximately 1.00pm but you may need to stay longer if you are successful. Bring water but no food or other drinks. Come wearing comfortable clothes and soft/dance shoes. You will be taught a routine on the day. We require a total commitment to the pantomime from the rehearsal period to the full run of the performance: 22nd November 2014 - 4th January 2015. #yeovil #octagon #octagontheatre #panto #pantomime #theatre #auditions #somerset
