Chapter 12: oh, no! Here comes trouble!

(Mushroom Kingdom: Toad Town)

Toad was slowly walking through Toad Town, full of regret and sadness.

This was because of the fact that he wasn’t really able to help Luffy out much while he was there.

Not only that, they may have wasted his time, trying to help him by sending him to the princess without knowing whether or not she would help him.

And it really slowed him down rather than helped him in the process.

And it’s not like he’s going to be able to help him on his adventure I mean come on he’s a mushroom toad.

What are you gonna be able to do, scream and run away?

Let’s be honest, he wasn’t exactly a fearless killing machine meant to take down any threat that came to the kingdom.

Especially if it came to going up against his army of monsters.

Toad was completely useless in that field, and especially in that field.

Because of this, he felt extremely guilty over what had happened. He just wanted to get back to his store and get back to doing what he was good at.

(Back at the store)

Bernie was still standing behind the cash register, taking care of a customer.

“So these keys are like custom made right? I’m just asking in case I don’t know if they accidentally get lost or break or something”, the customer was a blue Toad who was holding one of the golden keys from the side of the cash register.

Bernie nodded his head reassuringly,” yep made a mess off, took quite some time to. I got a whole case of them in the back”.

The blue mushroom smiled and grabbed four more keys from the bin,” all right I’ll take five of these”.

Bernie then shot him a confused and shocked expression,” Wow that’s a lot. I hope you don’t plan on losing all of those keys”.

The blue Toad quickly shook his head before chuckling,”hehe no some of my other friends are moving in with me to start this special club, and I wanted to get the more keys for when they moved in that way just to make it easier for everyone! I’ve been saving up so I’ll pay whatever price”.

Bernie quickly nodded his head,” well all right that’ll be ten coins”.

The blue toad reached into his back pocket and pulled out each of the coins, one by one, until it reached the number ten.

Once he grabbed all five of the keys and began walking out to the front entrance before waving back,” all right thanks again, Bernie see ya”!He shouted as he exited the store.

Bernie waved back at him before grabbing the coins, and opening up a chest underneath the counter, and placing each of them inside.

After he’s finished, putting all the coins inside, he closes the chess and gets up from underneath the register, just to spot to his excitement Toad, who was slowly walking back towards the store.

Bernie hopped up from behind the register, and made his way over to him,”Toad your back, thank God, please tell me you dealt with “you know who” and this whole crazy situation”, he asked hopefully.

Toad nodded his head in response,”yeah”.

Bernie blew a sigh of relief.

The last thing he wanted was for their business to be put in jeopardy, because of a strange creature that toad befriended.

And thankfully his friend was able to fix this whole mess up without any problems either.

Bernie was about to say something else when he then noticed the sad and depressed look on Toads face.

His relief then quickly turned into worry,”Hey Toad, you alright”?

Toad sighed sadly before slowly looking up at his friend,”Yeah I guess it’s just that….well I kinda wish I was able to help him more”.

Bernie shot him a look of confusion.

What the hell was he talking about?

He did take him to the princess right? So then there’s no reason to feel guilty about it.

Unless……

Bernie stepped up towards Toad,”Wait what are you talking about? You brought Luffy to the princess right”?, he asked curiously.

“Yeah but she said she wasn’t gonna help him because she was busy with other matters. And Luffy took that as a green light to go out and find his friends by himself without her,”Toad explained.

“Ok then- Wait, why are you upset about that, all you were supposed to do is take him to see the princess and that’s it, whether she wanted to help or not. So what’s the problem”?,Bernie asked.

Toad shrugged his shoulders,”I don’t know, I guess that I thought of this little assignment as a bit of an exciting adventure for a little bit and now it’s kinda over”.

Bernie (after hearing that) tilted his head to the side and placed his hands on his hips curiously,”Toad if I didn’t know any better I’d say you’d have something on your mind you wanna talk about”.

Toad paused for a moment after hearing that.

What was he trying to say?

That he wasn’t happy with the life he lived now?

That maybe he wanted something more than just owning a store most if not all the other toads could get somewhere else.

To be honest, he couldn’t really explain it, but he knew one thing and it was that whatever this feeling was, it was eating at him constantly.

He took a deep breath before speaking up,”I’m mostly just saying that, I don’t know, maybe going with him on his journey wouldn’t have been such a bad idea”.

Bernie almost immediately started shaking his head,”Toad, NO”!

“Ah come on Bernie, what are we doing in this kingdom that’s so important that we’d let someone walk into a literal death trap”, Toad argued.

“Toad don’t be like that, he went out there by his own choice! That has nothing to do with us! And even if we did go out and help him, it's not like we’d be a lotta help to him! We’re Toads, you know that we are not built for danger, we’re too adorable for that ”!Bernie shouted.

Toad slaps his hand on his face in frustration before walking inside the store,”There you go again with that! Bernie, don’t you ever get tired of everyone out there telling us we’re too cute and adorable! And that we’re not capable of doing anything more than work around the kingdom and protecting and serving our princess! Especially when there might be a small chance that that’s not true”?!, Toad said as he started grabbing, and placing items on some of the shelves.

Bernie saw this and grabbed an item as well before placing it on the aisle,” Of course it’s true, that’s all we’re meant to do and that’s all we need to do. And at least we have guards”.

“You mean the same guards that I just easily was able to bribe in order to get a complete stranger to enter the castle! Oh, wait, no, the same guards that are too scared to even leave the kingdom grounds”!Toad pointed out before moving to the other side of the aisle.

Bernie shot him a look,” Oh what, are you saying you all of a sudden hate your life here”.

He took a deep breath before continuing,”What no, look, I’m not saying that I don’t love my life here and running the shop. I’m just saying that we’re built for more than just this. And I’m tired of just sitting here looking like idiomatic, cute and adorable background characters that just sit around, looking stupid while we support the main character! When we could carve ourselves a path to a supporting character, or even a main character of a story, rather than just being this”!, he shouted before finishing up with the aisle and making his way over to the front counter then planted his face on the top.

After a few moments of looking at him in silence, Bernie stopped what he was doing and slowly began making his way towards his friend,” Toad, buddy come on, this is what we’re meant to do. We’re not meant to go out on crazy adventures, or stand gloriously or heroically over a cheering crowd. We’re meant to do our duties and leave it to someone who is meant to go out and have those crazy adventures and glorious moments. We’re just not built for those kinds of things”.

Toad lifted his head up from the counter and shat a blank expression at his friend,” You say that, but I just saw a scrawny and honestly weird looking guy without a weapon or any allies to his name, run out if our kingdom in order to go and fight an entire kingdom full of blood thirsty monsters just so he can save his friends. Don’t you get it Bernie?! Some random guy who the world probably wouldn’t even think of as a hero is about to go and run face first into certain death”!

Toad shouted pointing his finger outside the store entrance into the distance of the mushroom kingdom.“And you want me to sit here and believe that this is the only life that we could possibly have”?!

“Well what do you expect, Toad? Him going out there to fight those things was his choice! That has nothing to do with us because we don’t know him! And he’s not one of us either! For all we know he could be some main mc in a story, or maybe just a goofy unimportant sidekick to a (probably) awesome mc! Who knows, who cares?! It's his lifestyle, not ours and it never will be”!Bernie shouted,”And the sooner you learn to accept that, the sooner you’ll have a better life here!”

Toad took a deep breath before speaking up,”Bernie it’s not that simple to jus…..t,” he said before trailing off.

He suddenly noticed something outside but couldn’t quite tell what it was.

He hopped over the register and started to walk towards the entrance.

With Bernie following after him, not quite finished with the conversation yet,”on no, toad we are not finished here! Now look I know this isn’t something you have quite grasped in your head yet but you can’t-“.

“Bernie, does that look like smoke to you?”Toad asked worriedly as he pointed to a line of smoke coming from the entrance of the town.

“What are you…..”Bernie's face went from angry to almost instantly confused at the sight of the smoke,”What the hell”?

Toad walked outside the store and tapped another mushroom on the shoulder,”Hey Ted, what’s up with the smoke”?

The mushroom shrugged his shoulders,”Don’t know, maybe the bakery downtown burnt some of their supplies again”?, he suggested.

Toad after hearing that nervously turned to Bernie (who was walking right up behind him).

Once Bernie was there with him, he shot Toad a (“this better not have been caused by who I think it is”) look before placing his hands on his hips.

Toad shrugged in response to the look.

And to be honest he didn’t know who bought this either.

But he knew one thing for a fact and that this wasn’t caused by Luffy in the slightest.

He saw Luffy walk back out into the mushroom forest to most likely go and find the warp pipe he was shot out of in order to find his friends.

So there’s no way that this would be caused by him.

After a few moments of looking up at the fiery smoke, Toad suddenly noticed that other mushroom toads were running specifically away from that direction.

They looked as if they were in danger of some sort.

He then looked back up at the smoke with worry, (Was it really so bad as to where they have to run from it).

Once he did he noticed that the smoke clouds were growing larger by the second.

Showing that whatever was going on had no intention of stopping.

Toad kept looking around and saw that more of his fellow mushroom people were still running away from the Smokey area.

An almost huge crowd of running toads started to form as they were all running in different directions (aside from the smoke one).

If it was dangerous, they were making it seem that someone could really use some help.

Toad had to figure out what the hell was going on. I need to do it quickly.

Bernie turned to toad in worry, but he didn’t see the same look on his face, instead he saw a determined look.

His face went pale at the sight of this.

He knows exactly what that look meant, and what Toad liked to do when he had it on.

Bernie reached out his arm to grab Toad before he could get the chance to go and do something stupid,”No no no no no, Toad don’t you dare-“.

But it was already too late.

Toad sprinted off towards the direction of the smoke as fast as he could.

Bernie tried to chase after him I’m an effort to stop him but he was too late to catch him in time before the crowd came in and got in his way.

Bernie tried to shout, “Toad wait no-“, but the noise of the crowd drowned out his voice, making it impossible for Toad to even hear him.

His friend was running off to find trouble, and there was nothing he could do about it

(Downtown)

Moving and pushing straight through the crowds that were moving in the opposite directions.

Toad was determined to see what exactly was going on.

He ran through the town as fast as he could, hopping and jumping over carts, tables in front of restaurants, and even other Toads that were in his way.

While he ran making his way to the scene, all kinds of thoughts filled his head.

(In his head)

(“What’s go on”)

(“What exactly started all of this smoke”)

And then closer he got to the scene, the more he felt the smoke fill the air.

Not only that, but when he passed by some other Toads, he saw that they all were covered with injuries.

They were nothing serious, just a few scrapes, small cuts, and bruises.

But it wasn’t exactly making it easier for his nerves to settle.

And it didn’t help that all the commotion wasn’t too far up the street, though he didn’t know whether or not to be thankful about this or not.

He was getting closer to the location as he heard what sounded like rubble, and debris, falling or breaking.

This caused him to jump in surprise a tiny bit.

Not only was there smoke, but now it was rubble getting thrown around.

What the hell is going on over there?

It sounded as if a fight was going on that he didn’t know about.

Or maybe something a lot worse.

And then out of nowhere he had one final question…..

(“Was whatever that was over there terrifying enough to scare all the other mushrooms”)

Toad would very soon get his answer.

Once he turned this next corner towards a cloud of smoke, he saw a yellow scaly hand appear from the smoke and grab him by the blues vest before picking him up and slamming him into a wall.

Toad winced in pain as the hand held him up tightly against the wall.

Then suddenly a giant cloaked figure slowly appeared from inside the smoke.

This figure was the same person whose hand was currently holding Toad up against a wall by his vest.

And from what he saw, it looked like the figure was somewhat observing him.

It was as he was trying to see who he was about to kill with his own bare hands.

He did this for a few moments before suddenly bursting in laughter at what he saw.

This went on for a few seconds before he was finally able to calm himself down and look straight at Toad,” well well well looky what we got here, looks like one of the small fry actually ran towards our direction”, he said before chuckling loudly.

He slowly brought himself closer to Toad’s face,” you must think yourself a hero, huh ya little stubby shit”, he asked him as he tightened his grip on Toad, causing him to grunt in pain.

Though he didn’t answer the cloaked figure’s question.

He was a little busy trying to free himself from his tight grip against the wall.

Seeing the foolish little mushroom person ignoring him angered the cloaked giant,” ya know”, (chuckle),” I always did wonder what was inside those little mushroom caps of yours,” reaches behind himself and pulls out a sledgehammer that was almost as big as the figure himself.

Toad froze at the sight of the giant hammer, in fear of the weapon.

“Why don’t we give it a good couple of whacks, just to see what we’re dealing with”, he said sinister Lee as he pulled the hammer back in preparation to swing it at Toad’s head.

Toad closed his eyes to brace himself for what was about to happen next.

The cloaked giant started to swing the hammer forward at a quick speed.

But then just when the hammer was about Conner with Toad’s face, a voice called out to the cloaked figure,”Boris, enough playing games”!

The two turned to see multiple cloaked figures menacingly appear out of the smoke.

The big guy dropped his shoulders and sighed loudly,”uuuhhh come on Captain, can’t I just have a little fun caving his head in”, he begged.

Toad turned pale in the face after hearing that, in fear that the other intruders would let him if they wanted to.

One of the other cloaked figures stepped forward before placing an also yellow, reptilian scale hand on his shoulder,”No we’re not here to have fun we’re here on a mission remember?! So stop screwin around and focus”!

The bigger figure dropped his head in disappointment as he lowered his weapon and lightened his grip on Toad.

Toad was about to sigh a breath of relief, thinking he was in the clear.

When suddenly the smaller figure quickly turned to him and slapped his hands together,”Ahem, sorry about my friend here. He’s more of the meathead type than the brain type”, he said as he patted the bigger guy on the shoulder.

He then turned to face the other cloaked figures,”Me and my others here just arrived not too long ago and are hoping to request an audience with your princess on behalf of our glorious King”.

Toad tilted his head and raised a brow at what he had just said.

Who were these guys?

Why did the look like they were in a cult of some kind?

Why were they attacking his home?

And why earth would he let them go anywhere near the princess after this?

“Who…..who are young-guys' ', Toad struggled as he was still being held up tightly against the wall.

The cloak figure paused for a moment before he started to chuckle loudly in Toads face, as if to mock him,”Wow yeah I guess we should start with that huh. And here I thought you toads would remember us by now given all that we've been through”.

The cloaked leader then snapped his fingers, signaling for all the other cloaked figures to remove their cloaks, which they almost immediately started to do.

One by one, each of them removed the cloaks that cover their bodies.

Which, as a result, revealed their true faces.

And what they did, and Toad saw who they were, the color in his face, completely drained away in fear, causing him to gasp loudly.

He knew exactly who they were now, and then, with no allies of the mushroom kingdom.

If anything, they were the mushroom kingdom‘s worst enemies to date.

They were some of the most vicious creatures this world has ever seen.

Theirleader, was far from an exception to the legends either.

They were the enemies of the mushroom kingdom……

Koopas!!!

They were some of the worst creatures to ever encounter in this, or any world, if you ran into them.

They were known for taking over and destroying other kingdoms at certain that path

They were one of the worst things to ever walk this world.

They were…… turtles?

Believe it or not, the worst enemy of the mushroom kingdom were a bunch of turtle like creatures.

But they weren’t just any turtle lake creatures, if anything they were far from the average turtle.

Koopa Troopas are large, humanoid turtles. They usually had yellow skin, blue eyes, a shell, and shoes. The colors of the shell often vary among the species, but the two most common are red and green. They also had shoulder and new pads too that helped match their color. They even had rounded helmets that fit the exact shape of their heads.

The were only five of the green shelled koopas that were present.

Koopa Paratroopas are pretty much the same as Koopa Troopas, save for the fact that they have wings to fly with.

There were four of them present, all of them who had red shells.

Hammer Bros. (or Hammer Brothers) are a species of Koopa that stand upright and throw hammers at passing-bystanders. They have bigger shells than Koopa Troopas and also wear helmets. They have also been described as elite members of their king’sKoopa Troop.

There were two of them present at the scene and arm to the teeth with hammers.

The sledgehammer bro was a koopa with yellow skin and belly plates, green shells and helmets, and big feet with three toes each. Unlike their smaller relatives, Sledge Bros. do not wear shoes, and their eyes are also smaller and beady; additionally, they usually carry around large sledge hammers instead of small, clawed hammers.

As was stated earlier, Boris was the only sledgehammer bro with them.

And last but certainly not least, the supposed leader of this group pulled off his hood to reveal a red shelled Koopa. But he wasn’t like the other ones he wore. Spiked shoulder pads on his shoulders, and had an eyepatch on his right eye, giving him a somewhat menacing look.

Once he has revealed himself, the red eyepatch, Koopa gave Toad a devilish smile,” And where are my manners? I am The Right Hand Man Of The Koopa General: Trython and I’m here on a little mission”.

Toad started to shiver in fear as he still realized what this really was.

It was an ambush in the mushroom kingdom, and it was being led by the Koopas.

“W-what are you Koopas doing here? And what do you want?”, Toad quickly asked, trying to get information out of them.

Trython started to laugh loudly,“Aw come on I know you toads are a little on the slow side but I know you’re not that far over. It’s obvious that we’re here for you princess”!, inches a little closer to Toad before whispering,”And we’re gonna get her”.

Toad gasped once again,” The hell you Koopas are! The princess will never let you kidnap her”!, Toad bravely shouted.

“She will if she wants this fungus converted shithole of a kingdom to keep standing on its feet and not be ripped apart by our secret weapon”!, the koopa leader shot back before turning and pointing to a giant box that some of the Koopa troopers were pulling into the town.

It was a Normas almost as big as the entire water fountain area.

What the hell was in that was so big that it would be counted as a secret weapon.

Whatever it was Toad knew for a fact that it wouldn’t do anything good for his home.

He had to stop them before they could unleash it on the town.

He tried even harder to try and free himself from the sledge Bros grip,”I’m not gonna unleash whatever’s in there out of my home! And I’m sure as hell not gonna let you lay a hand on our princess! Because I’m going to stop you”!

After hearing his brave declaration, The koopas stood there, staring at him blankly.

A couple of seconds passed bed they all start hysterically, bursting out laughing.

“Oh no guys be careful! The stuby little fungus midget’s gonna try stop us”,Boris mocked before once again bursting out into laughter.

Which in return caused his grip on Toad to tighten.

If they hadn’t heard a funny joke before they sure did now.

If they had known the toads to be that funny they would’ve probably spared a lot more of them than planned.

But they had a plan to follow and they weren’t about to just stray from the plan.

“Wow who knew you little guys would be that funny and adorably pathetic at the same time”, Trython mock Toad as he tightly pinches one of his cheeks.

Toad groaned in pain as he then used his hand to push him away,“I’m serious you reptiled freaks! I’m gonna let you hurt or destroy my home”!,Toad angrily declared.

But instead of it making the Koopas back off it only really made them laugh even harder.

“Well we’ll we’ll, looks like we got a little hero here! Ready to kick ass and save the day”!, turns to sledgehammer Koopa and taps him on the shoulder,” hey Boris, why don’t we give the little hero the special hero’s treatment, huh”?

Boris grinned widely,”I was thinking the same thing”, he said, as he slowly lifted up his sledgehammer and pointed towards Toad’s head.

The determined look on Toad’s face, lol is shifted into a terrified look.

Seeing as though he may have made his situation with them a lot worse than the better.

And there was no one there to back him up or help him.

The Koopas begin to chuckle as they were here, getting ready to have their phones soon.

But unbeknownst to them that was another mushroom person, hiding out in the distance, watching the whole thing occur.

It was Bernie!

He had somehow made it through the running crowd and was able to find toe but unfortunately, he was a little tied up at the moment.

Not only that they looked as if they were about to cave his head in.

Bernie wanted to help with every fiber of his being, but I knew he wouldn’t be able to do much against them, especially against big guys like the sledge hammer bro.

So he just stood there, hidden away from them trying to think of a plan on how to help his best friend.

Add a couple of ideas ran through his head, but he knew they wouldn’t work.

For one, he knew better than to ask any of the help from any of the other mushroom people, they would be too scared to eally want to help out.

He was thinking about going to get the princess, but after hearing that plan, that’s the last thing he wanted to do.

cause a distraction? No, that will only send a few of them away.

He needed a distraction that would keep all of their attention and focus on it instead of toad and him.

After thinking for a few more moments, an idea finally popped into his head that might work.

He turned and looked out into the distance, that Luffy kid sure seems loud enough noxious enough to distract them all.

And with all that talk about fighting those monsters in the dark lands, he sure would seem confident in his own skills.

And while they pummeled him, he and Toca find the opportunity to escape.

It was perfect, if he’d be able to find him out in the forest.

He looked out towards the mushroom forest out in the distance.

If he was lucky, maybe he would be able to find that kid and bring him here in time before he left this world.

But he needed to hurry.

Bernie jumped up and quickly, but quietly made his way around the whole situation in front of him by basically hiding behind food cards or going through different building windows before finally making it to the mushroom kingdom entrance, and running out towards the mushroom force as quickly as possible.

Toad didn’t look like he had much time left, so he needed to be quick, really quick.

(Peach’s Castle)

Peach was pacing back and forth in her throne room, thinking about what she was going to say to the other rulers of the other kingdoms.

(Unfortunately for her that was proving to be a much more difficult task than she originally thought).

She was basically reading off of note cards that she liked to use for whenever she needed to get her thoughts down.

“(Ahem)Fellow rulers, comrades and friends alike, Bular is coming to launch a full fledged attack on my kingdom! And so I basically need all of you to basically send all of you soldiers that may or may not get killed in order to….save…..my kingdom- no no no no what the hell am I thinking”!, She tore off that page and tossed it away before turning to the next page to look for something better to say.

”Alright, this enemy that we face is more powerful than we’ve ever faced for I know, but if we band together and unite our kingdoms so that we might hope to be…..almost….as….powerful-“, stops before sucking her teeth,”oh yeah peach maybe if you get them all to band together maybe and hopefully create a bunch of giant sparkles too while you're at it”, she said sarcastically before tearing that piece of paper off and throwing it to the side.

She then turned to the next page to see if this one would be better than the last two.

“All right, look everyone, Bular is coming and we all know about what his army is capable of and if we don’t stop him he’ll kill all of us! Well he’s mostly coming after our kingdom, but surely he’ll come….for... .yours…too- Arg GOD DAMMIT”!!!, she angrily shouted as she then threw the notes at the wall.

She then went over and sat down in her throne before cupping up her face in her hands, frustrated with her lack of progress with her big speech.

(Yeah, it was that bad and it wasn’t getting any better)

She was preparing to leave that next morning, and she had no idea what she was going to say to the rest of the royal council.

The entire mushroom kingdom was counting on her to get those armies together, in order to protect the kingdom.

Not only that, she needed the army to be strong enough to somewhat hold off Bular’s forces.

Who is she kidding?

She’d be lucky if even one of the kingdoms wanted to help.

And that’s if she came up with a convincing enough speech to get them to help.

Though evaluation would’ve been the easiest option for them to take, she wasn’t about to just sit there and run away, While everything she worked hard to protect would be torn apart by those monsters.

Especially if it was made by people whom she calls family.

She couldn’t let them down no matter how hard the situation was.

And that was just a basic problem right now.

She was still hung up over the human. She met literally an hour ago.

The first human she ever met, and she shooed him away just like that.

No, she fully didn’t regret refusing to help him with his situation.

She would’ve liked to know more about him in other humans that he may have encountered.

Growing up with all the mushroom people was nice, but it would’ve been great to have been around someone of her own kind rather than her friend Princess Daisy of course.

But because of the current situation and her determination to help her kingdom, she may never get the opportunity again.

Any chance of her learning about the human world, other humans, what they like, what they wore, and what they ate are all gone.

And that deeply disappointed her in a way she couldn’t imagine.

She would literally kill to get another opportunity like that.

Unfortunately though she didn’t see that happening anytime soon.

Just then, while she was in her thoughts, the throne room door suddenly swung open.

Toadsworth quickly limped into the room as fast as he could before, stopping in, taking quick glances around the room.

Once he spotted the Princess he ran over to the steps leading up to her throne,”Princess are you alright?! I heard screaming”!, he asked concerningly.

There was no response from her.

She didn’t answer him immediately because she didn’t really know what to really tell him.

That she was frustrated with the fact that she couldn’t figure out what she was gonna tell the other kingdoms when she met them.

Oh wait, even better that she was somehow conflicted on meeting another human for the first time.

And the icing on the cake, that she didn’t know how she was going to make sure that her and the other kingdoms were able to go up against the troll empire.

Oh, she was thinking negative thoughts, and she didn’t really want to show him, mainly because she served as a beacon of hope for the kingdom.

And the last thing, the people who are already on edge with everything that’s going on wanted to see the princess off her game as well.

So before answering the princess took a deep breath and straightened herself up before looking over at him with a smile and nodded her head.

“Yes, I’m perfectly fine, Toadsworth. I just accidentally dropped my notes on the ground,that’s all”, she said in a reassuring tone as she got up from her throne and walked down the steps and passed Toadsworth, to pick up her notes that were in the middle of the floor.

Toadsworth rose an eyebrow at this and placed his hands on his hips,” Really? Nothing else happened here?”

She nodded her head,”Yes”

“There’s nothing that might be on your mind that you would wish to talk with me about”?, he asked suspiciously as he tilted his head to the side.

She quickly shook her head,”No of course not”.

“Really?”, he asked once again.

She nodded her head again,”Really”, before going back to looking at her notes, before she then made her way over to her throne.

Toadsworth just stood there, looking at her suspiciously.

He knew for a fact that something was wrong with her.

He was a lot of things, stupid was most certainly not one of them.

Especially when he had raised her for the last 20 years of her life.

He knew there was something wrong with her and he thinks he knows exactly what it is that’s bothering her.

He slowly walked up the stairs to her and gently placed his hands on hers (which suddenly surprised her but at the same time got her attention),”Princess please know you can’t lie to me”.

She was about to say something in defense of that but then quickly stopped herself and slowly turned away from him,”I’m making it that obvious, huh”?

Toadsworth chuckled before nodding,”Yes you never were too good at hiding anything from me, you all know that”, he reminded her before turning to look at the ground and then turning back at her,”It’s about the whole situation Isn’t it”.

She looked away from him for a moment and chuckled,”Nothing gets past you, huh”, Takes a deep breath,”Everyone in this kingdom is counting on me to protect them and keep them away from danger. And the last thing I want is for them to have to have their homes taken away from them by someone who thinks they have the power to do so. And that’s why this meeting needs to go well in order to keep that from happening. And I’m trying so hard to figure out what the right things are to say to them that will get them to agree to help us. But no matter how hard I try, I can’t stop the thought of them refusing to give us an eight out of my head, especially when they know we need it the most. And to make things worse I just feel conflicted on meeting another human being other than Daisy for the first time in my life and I just waved him away, without even really getting a chance to at least get to know about him or other humans. And now I’m trying to figure out how to keep the destruction of our kingdom from being the only outcome of this whole thing and it’s so stressful to think about and I’m not sure where to go from after this? and I know you think that running would be the only real option for us but I disagree. I know there’s something else we can do that we haven’t thought of yet. But now I……just don’t know where to go from here”.

She had to take a minute to catch her breath, mainly because she was kind of out of it from all the talking she was doing at least.

While she was doing that, the toad's worth was just sitting there trying to process all that she had just sat.

Or at least trying to figure out what was the right thing to say to her at that moment that wouldn’t crush her spirits.

That was the last thing she needed right now especially with how important the situation was.

He took a step closer to her,'' Princess listen, it’s alright to feel under stress about a situation like this. It can be a lot for any person, no matter how many years of experience they might have. The point is that you keep yourself together in focus on what the main objective is. I raised you to be strong, smart, and resourceful and I expect nothing less from you. I expect you to be strong and stand your ground no matter what situation comes your way”, he then places his hand on her shoulder,”But don’t forget to let others into your heart and help guide you in ways you never thought you could be guided. You never know what you could learn from those around you and what they have to offer. And if you really have to go out there and face off against the dangers this world has to offer then, then so be it, just know that I’ll be right here waiting for you to return and giving you all my love and hopes as well.. In the end, I know you’ll be able to figure it out because that's the kind of person you are”.

The princess (after hearing that) slowly began to smile as she then placed her hand onto his as well,”Thank you toadsworth, you always know what I need to hear don’t you”?

Toadsworth smiled confidently,” well, of course I do as you’re-“

Suddenly the door slams wide open as multiple mushroom guards come flooding into the room.

This startles, both Peach and Toadsworth causing them both to jump.

Toadsworth accidentally lost his balance and fall on his back.

Peach (after calming herself down a little) had gotten up from her throne and looked down to see that the mushroom guards were huffing and puffing, as if they were out of breath from running a distance.

She turned to look at Toadsworth (who was rubbing his back from the fall) and went over to help him up.

Once she did she quickly started to check him out, trying to make sure that he didn’t have any severe injuries that needed to be checked out.

Once he had properly deduced that he had no injuries, she nodded to him, as he did her, as a sign that everything was alright.

Once that was over, the two of them quickly made their way down the steps before then running across the room towards the royal guards, wondering what was going on with them.

Peach stopped on from of them,”Is everything alright”?, she asked in a concerned tone.

One of the guards in return shot her a scared and terrified look before answering……..

(The Mushroom Forest)

Luffy was quickly making his way through the mushroom forest as fast as he could in order to get to that warp pipe.

Whether it was by slingshotting through the air by using some of the mushroom tree’s.

Or by hopping on or jumping over giant mushrooms on the ground.

Either way he was making it there to that pipe no matter what stood in his way.

After a few more minutes of running and jumping through the mushroom forest, he was finally able to make it to the place he had arrived, the Warp pipe.

Once he was there he was able to get a better look at the are

It was just like how he had saw earlier, surrounded by mushrooms, and a ruined structure, covered in vegetation

He then placed his hands on his hips , confident that he was able to find and locate the one thing that could get him out of there and help find his friends.

He started walking up to where the pipe was, but then all the sudden he stopped for a moment.

He turned his sights back to the mushroom king for a quick.

To be honest in the short time he was there, you kind of grew fond of it.It was fun, colorful, and had lots of nice people.

Unfortunately their leader wasn’t too quick to help him out though.But sometimes on an adventure, you take the good with the bad. And it wasn’t like it was a complete and total bust. He was able to meet a few new people while being there. Like toes, Bernie, (and even though they had gotten off on the wrong foot) the princess, who seemed very determined to protect her land and people.

And for that little fit in mind that she didn’t really want to help him, considering the fact that she was busy, trying to protect her own people in the family. When you have to do something like that for a reason so no more he couldn’t be angry at her.

Though it didn’t really help him out with his situation.

And it didn’t really help that he was in another world with no idea where to go.

He would have to rely on himself and his own skills to be able to help him, go out and find his friends wherever they might be in this so-called scary“Darklands”.

And then apparently what everyone was telling him is that if he did go there, he would have to go up against this “Bular” if you ever wanted to be able to see his friends again.

So any normal person would probably be too scared to go up and face this challenge monkey D Luffy wasn’t just any ordinary person.

And he sure as hell wasn’t scared of any “Bular” or his army.

And so therefore, he was up for the task of rescuing his friends and kicking this bull, our guys ass, if and when it came to that.

And so he bid farewell to the mushroom kingdom, and started to walk closer to the warp pipe.

He was about to stretch his arm up to go and grab it when suddenly.

“HEY WAIT PLEASE DON'T GO”!!!

Voice shouted from a distance behind him causing Luffy to stop and turn around to see who it was.

And when he did he saw that it was one of the mushroom people except he was a red colored one.

And he was running as fast as he could towards him.

Luffy tilted his head in confusion…..

Who was this guy?

And what did he want with him?

“PLEASE WAIT I NEED YOUR HELP”!!!!, the mushroom person called out to him again.

Luffy was able to get a better listen on this guys voice and almost instantly recognized him.

It was Bernie!

Toad’s friend and he stated earlier his business partner.

What was he doing all the way over here?

Luffy decided to just shrug it off before he began running over to him to see what was wrong.

And after a few seconds of running the two of them finally met.

The burning in the moment or two to catch his breath from all the running he did.

Luffy didn’t really need to do that, so he just decided to go straight to the questions,” Hey Bernie, what are you doing all the way out here I thought you were at your shop”?

Bernie was still hurting and puffing and trying to do his best to speak and answer his question,”L-L-Luffy, y-you gotta help us! Our enemy, The K-K-Koopas sent spies into our kingdom in order to t-t-try and k-kidnap our princess! T-Toad t-t-tried to stop them b-b-but now he’s in t-trouble”!

Luffy eyes went wide after hearing this….

Yeah, only left a little while ago and everything goes to shit, just like that.

Bernie, who has mostly calm down, was still trying to plead with Luffy,” you have to help him or they’re going to kill-“.

Before he could stay another word, Luffy had already ran right past him and made a beeline for the mushroom kingdom.

He had to hurry if he was going to help his friends from whatever threat might be causing so much destruction.

When he took a closer look, he saw smoke in the distance, causing him to run even faster.

Hang on Toad, Luffy was on his way…,…

chapter 1039: the main attraction—kidlaw snark and snark again & new vs old

Okay, looks like Law’s done something that will either help of hinder Yamato and Momo and Zunesha in their attempt to stop Onigashima from blowing up, and more so, to stop it from landing on and blowing up the capital of Wano.

But more about that later.

So, yeah, remember how I wrote about Momo staying back in Zou to have a chat with Zunesha in chapter 822?

well, the conversation seems to have borne fruit.

But on to our two bickering biddies! Oda’s gotta love Kid and Law. Really, I don’t care what the dudebros say, and maybe he is pandering to fans, but the truly faithful have been waiting since 2008, right? Again, it’s not my main ship, but it’s one of them and it is fun. So, Kid built this:

and it flattened Big Mom after she’d been shocked through with Law’s shock wille. The crews are:

fearful (Beast Pirates), and ecstatic (Kid and Heart Pirates, and Pandaman has defected to Kid’s crew from the looks of things!). (Someone blew the pic up.It’s a t-shirt design. Law’s not the only one with a thing for bears!). I’m not sure who got blown away last week, but I’m sure they’re okay this week. Shock Wille left Big Mom

with her bones broken from the inside.

So it’s pretty effective (except she survived), and Kid pummels her once all her structure is broken, I guess, which is what Law is complaining about below (and what the page above actually opens with ):

And here’s Law leaping onto the bull (and snarking) [again, out of order].

He’s also got something important (and ominous) to tell Kid (so we should get some good Law angst. He’s been doing pretty well, stamina-wise, this arc)

But Kid ain’t listening, and Big Mom attacks them (the Master Saber frame above) before Law finishes his sentence.

So, they flee, and Big Mom is just amazing, and Kid does go first (though I don’t think it’s premeditated, but these two work well in tandem, despite the bickering). And it seems that

the bull that Kid created is going to gore her, but she is tired out, but still pretty strong because she’s dragged in energy from elsewhere to heal herself (as an aside, why don’t the flunkies fight one another? I guess the main attraction is just too compelling). Also, the S(outh) and the N(orth) of Kid’s power is cool. So Big Mom actually moves the whole tower she’s pushed up against to block, and she’s pretty angry

and unleashes:

Mother’s Misery! A “living” attack (read the TL/N there. It’s interesting). So, rather than targeting the attack, Law focuses on the attacker:

So, has he accessed energy from the earth’s core to fry her from the inside? Any ideas, please let me know in the comments. AND, first of all, bolero hat survived. Second of all, CAPTAIN! You wouldn’t let Zoro kill himself, so don’t you go kicking the bucket, although, that’s why he had a chat to Eustass who was maybe listening at a subliminal level (or just decided to follow orders. It’s not really an order), cos:

while it seems that Law’s opened up the portal to both heaven and hell (and maybe the full moon? Bepo! or did Momonosuke do that?), he’s also used all of his power, and it’s doubtful he’d survive whatever Misery’s got in store for him. Can’t shamble himself out of this one, so he “orders”

Love Law’s feral grin. We don’t see it that often. And is Kid accessing the portals/energy or is it not connected. I’m not very visual, so I really appreciate any explanations in the comments. Okay, I just read the T/N on the next panel. The kanji reads electric-magnetic canon on Kid’s weapon. Perfect fusion. I wonder if Oda’s wife is a KidLaw shipper (considering Law is her favourite, apparently!).

WOW! Law’s basically been saying the new generation is fucking everything up since Punk Hazard, and how. Oda delivered. For me, anyway. That attack (Kid’s) is like a supercharged electro too, right? Like Law’s counter-shock, but also the Minks’ attack. Cannot wait now that the moon seems to be shining into the castle (and air. Lotsa fire in the castle).

As another side note, how far do you think Law and Luffy might have got if Luffy hadn’t spent all that time not beating up Bellamy?

Okay, gonna include this one too, cos Law looks pretty cool when not dwarfed by Big Mom. She haki-punches the hell out of him too.

The Tiger and the Oda Princess Ch. 11

Chapter 11

The next day, Shingen made a visit to the dungeon. He sat in front of Kennyo's cell. "I was beginning to think you'd finally given up on me." Kennyo said from his cell. "You haven't come in a while."

"I've been busy." Shingen replied. "I was away for a bit."

Kennyo looked at him. "You look like you have something to say."

"I do." Shingen answered. "About a month ago now, Ava was kidnapped. She was taken to Oda territory in an effort to start a war again."

"By the way you're speaking, that didn't happen?"

"No." Shingen answered. "I had to work with the Oda to rescue her."

Kennyo glared at Shingen. "It would seem the siren's song is strong."

"It's not like I enjoyed it." Shingen snapped. "But we had to stay in Azuchi a while, before Ava could come home."

"You've formed an alliance with the devil." Kennyo stated.

"Yes." Shingen answered anyway.

"You should just kill me then."

"Why?"

"Because I can never forgive him for what he did. He was ruthless...so many innocents were lost."

Shingen sighed. "I will never deny you your grief."

"No, but you will deny me my revenge, when you've had yours." Kennyo replied. "Well, are continuing yours when you think of it."

"What are you talking about?" Shingen asked.

"You fought him, took your land back, and took his woman, made her your wife, and now she carries your child." Kennyo replied. "I can't imagine anything more shameful for that devil. And now that you're forming an alliance, he will be reminded every time he sees her with her pregnant belly."

"Ava isn't part of my revenge." Shingen countered.

Kennyo smiled. "Maybe not intentionally, but...that siren is yours now."

Shingen returned Kennyo's smile with a glare. "Don't talk about Ava like that."

"Her song is so sweet you don't even realize it." Kennyo replied.

"You speak as if I am being led to my doom." Shingen said. "When she is the one who saved me from death."

"And yet you now work with the devil."

"I know it is not the most ideal thing...but it's the fastest path to peace. And while you keep referring to my wife as a siren, maybe she is. But instead of leading anyone to their doom, she is leading us all to peace." Shingen said. "While we were in Azuchi, I had the chance to speak with that devil far more than I ever wanted...and for once I saw that he does carry the weight of what he has done."

Shingen was then getting up and walking away. He had other things he had to attend to. He had just exited the dungeons when Kenshin found him. "There you are, you bastard!" Kenshin shouted at him.

Shingen sighed. "I take it you rode through the night to get here?"

"After I got that disappointing letter from you, yes." Kenshin answered.

Sasuke was running up next to Kenshin. "I'm sorry Lord Shingen. I couldn't stop him."

"It's alright, Sasuke." Shingen replied. He then turned back to Kenshin. "What is it you want? You knew I was in talks with the Oda to form an alliance after they assisted in Ava's rescue."

"Yes, but...I didn't expect an agreement to come this soon." Kenshin answered. "And if you want me to join this alliance as well...you're going to have to fight me!"

"Kenshin..."

"No, you will not protest! If you don't fight me I will leave here as your enemy once more and we will fight to the death!"

"Lord Kenshin..." Sasuke tried to interject, but Shingen held up his hand.

"It's alright, Sasuke. Kenshin, if this is what it will take to get you to join this alliance, I will fight you. Let's go to the training hall."

Ava...

I finished with the embroidery of the Takeda crest on the baby blanket I had been working on. I held it up and smiled at my work. I then looked down at my swollen belly. "I can't wait to have you here and wrap you up in this blanket." I spoke to our unborn child and placed a hand on my belly.

I felt a kick then, right where my hand was. Almost as if the baby were responding. "Oh, are you excited?" I spoke again and then felt a few more kicks. I smiled and laughed. "You're getting quite active in there."

It was then that my stomach was letting out a growl. "Oh, must be lunch time...or maybe snack time, who knows at this point." I said aloud. Then I looked back down to my belly. "You're growing and making me eat so much more."

I was then folding up the blanket and setting it aside. I awkwardly pushed myself up into a standing position. It was starting to take more effort to move around my growing bump. I made my way to the kitchen and the staff excitedly put together a plate of snacks for me. I decided that I wanted to find Shingen and share the food...but maybe only a little of it. That and we hadn't really had the chance to spend much time together lately and I missed him.

I was wandering around looking for him and munching on my snacks as I did so, when I ran into Yoshimoto. "Oh, hey Yoshimoto." I greeted him with a smile.

He returned my smile with a beautiful one of his own. "Hello Ava." He replied. "Where are you headed?"

"I was just looking for Shingen. I picked up some snacks and was wanting to share with him. I figured he could probably use a break at this point."

"Well, I am sure he could use a break." Yoshimoto agreed. "Though I don't think a snack break will be enough."

"What do you mean?"

"Kenshin showed up and challenged him to a fight."

"Whatever for?" I asked, only half surprised.

"He says it's the only way he'll join the alliance with the Oda forces." Yoshimoto answered.

"I see." I replied. "That sounds like Kenshin."

"Indeed." Yoshimoto replied. "They are in the training hall right now. I was headed there to watch the performance. Shall I escort you?"

"Sure." I replied.

Yoshimoto and I walked to the training hall together and I continued to eat my snacks. By the time we reached the training hall, I had eaten every bite. "Well, looks like I won't be sharing."

Yoshimoto laughed. "I don't think he'll mind."

"Probably not." I agreed. Shingen actually seemed to be enjoying feeding me since I had become pregnant. He was almost as bad as Masamune actually.

We entered the training hall, where many people were gathered to watch Shingen and Kenshin face off. I could already hear the clash and clang of steal. Wait...they're not using practice swords? I thought to myself. Well, I'm sure Kenshin wouldn't have been satisfied with anything other than his real blade.

"Ava, Yoshimoto, over here."

Yoshimoto and I turned at the familiar voice calling to us. Sasuke stood over to one side, Yukimura beside him. I was also surprised when I saw Asuna there as well. "I'm surprised you came, Ava." Asuna said, looking at me.

"Well, I was looking for Shingen when I ran into Yoshimoto and he explained to me what was going on." I answered. I then looked over at Sasuke. "So, Kenshin wouldn't take no for an answer?"

"Does he ever?" Sasuke remarked. "I couldn't even get him to calm down with sake, pickled plums, and a banquet."

I nodded.

"I'm really surprised to see you here, Yoshimoto." Yukimura said.

"And miss the chance to witness the Tiger of Kai and the God of War, legendary rivals, face each other?" Yoshimoto replied. "Besides, Kenshin's blade is a piece of art. Seeing it in action is the only way to truly appreciate such a master-piece of a sword."

We were all then turning our attention to Shingen and Kenshin. When I looked at them fighting, I was reminded of the first time I ever saw Shingen in a fight, from the back of Nobunaga's horse. I smiled as I remembered how even though he had been the enemy commander at the time, how I couldn't take my eyes off of him...and how he had flirted with me even in the midst of battle.

The memory brought a smile to my face as I recalled the way he had winked at me. And just as then, now I couldn't take my eyes off of him. I watched as he used both hands to grip his great sword and swing it powerfully. I could see the beads of sweat forming on his brow. I could see his powerful muscles even beneath his clothes and armor.

I felt my breath catch in my throat and my heart picking up its pace. The intense look on his face, the way he fought, the way he moved, the strength I saw...Damn...is it hot in here or is it just me? I thought to myself.

"Ava, would you like to borrow my fan?" Yoshimoto's voice reached me.

I felt my face turn red with embarrassment. "Well...uhm...yes...that would be nice... thank you." I said as I took the offered fan from him and opened it.

"I don't think that fan is going to be enough." Asuna said. "I think I might need to go get a bucket of cold water to dump on her."

"That's enough." I replied, though I couldn't look at any of them. I could only keep my eyes on Shingen. Oh God, this is torture! I thought as I watched him. He's so...just woah...and Asuna still hasn't lifted her ban on sexy time!

Shingen and Kenshin's blades were locked. Shingen turned his head slightly, his eyes instantly found me. He smiled at me and gave me a wink just as he had in that first fight. I couldn't help the giggle that escaped me, which only made his smile widen.

Shingen then pushed Kenshin back with everything he had. The fight continued, neither of them making any win against the other. It went on for what felt like forever and I swear the room continued to get hotter. Asuna sighed as she went over and got in the middle of the fight, stopping it.

"I think that's enough. If this goes on any longer, you're both going to wear yourselves out and I think poor Ava might just combust." She declared.

I was furiously fanning myself by this point. "What? It's just...hot in here...plus pregnant women are prone to hot flashes." I remarked as I continued to use the borrowed fan.

Asuna looked at me. "Please, you started heating up the moment you looked at Lord Shingen."

My face began to turn red and so I hid behind the fan. Shingen just smiled.

"If Ava is getting too hot, perhaps she should just leave and let me finish this fight." Kenshin remarked looking at me.

"You know, last I checked I lived here and this is my home. You're the guest." I remarked.

Shingen's smile widened. He was then turning to Kenshin. "I gave you your fight, Kenshin."

Kenshin let out a huff. "Alright, but you'd better have some good sake and pickled plums."

"I already sent out for some after you walked in." Yukimura said. "It should be in the banquet hall right now."

"See, Yuki's on top of things." Shingen remarked.

Kenshin huffed. "Fine, I'll join your stupid alliance with the Oda."

Everyone began to file out of the training hall then. I turned to Yoshimoto to return his fan. "Thanks for letting me borrow this."

He held up a hand and shook his head. "No, I think you should keep that. I have plenty...besides I think you may need it more than I." He was then gracefully walking out of the room.

Shingen was walking over to me, taking my hand in his and bringing it to his lips. His eyes were on mine, warm and whispering seduction. "Had I known I would be showing off in front of my goddess, I would have tried harder." He said, his tone playful and flirtatious.

I suddenly had to start furiously fanning myself again.

"Do I need to dump cold water on both of you?" Asuna said, from behind Shingen.

I started having forgotten that she was even there.

"You dump it on Ava and I'll take care of Lord Shingen." Yukimura said from beside her.

"Are you suggesting we can't control ourselves?" Shingen asked.

"It just might be easier." Asuna replied.

I sighed. "It's been a month. I'm fine. The baby is fine. I keep getting a foot or something in my ribs." I said. "I've been taking it easy and following all of your instructions...can't you loosen up on this?"

"Ava..." Asuna began.

"Come on, you've been looking after me very closely since it happened. I've had no cramps, no bleeding. Everything is just fine. I feel fine."

Asuna let out a sigh. "Fine, but on the condition you guys take it slow and gentle. And if you even feel the slightest discomfort or anything, you stop."

"I would never be rough with my goddess." Shingen replied.

"What if your goddess asked?" I replied, unable to help myself.

Shingen smiled at me. "Well..."

"Yeah, well even if you do want to ask you can't tonight." Asuna said. "Gentle and slow. Got it you two?"

Shingen and I nodded. "Yes."

"I'm guessing you two won't be joining us for the impromptu banquet then?" Yukimura asked.

"No...and let everyone know to not disturb us for the rest of the day." Shingen answered. He was then scooping me up into his arms. "Shall we my princess?" He asked me, his voice pure seduction.

Despite the fact that we weren't alone, I found that I didn't care. I smiled up at him as I wrapped my arms around his neck. "To our room?"

Shingen grinned at me and gave me a gentle kiss on the lips. "As you wish." He was then carrying me out.

As we exited the training hall, I could hear Yukimura and Asuna. "I should probably warn everyone that they're going to want to stay away from that part of the palace."

"Probably not just for tonight but for the next few days." Asuna agreed.

Shingen carried me all the way to our room. Giving me light kisses on my forehead, lips, cheeks, and neck as we went. I returned his kisses with kisses and touches of my own, kissing his cheek, the side of his neck, the notch at the base of his throat, and the exposed part of his chest.

I could feel him shiver delightfully at the touch of my lips. "You've no idea what that does to me." He whispered in my ear.

When we finally made it to our room, Shingen shifted my weight so that he now held me with one arm. He used the other to slide the door closed behind us. I had to admit, him holding me with one arm was impressive, especially considering my increased weight from pregnancy. It was also a major turn on, adding fuel to the fire already burning within me.

Shingen took notice of this and lifted his free hand to gently stroke my cheek. Once again, even that gentle touch trailing heat over my skin and sending desire pooling low within me. "Are you enjoying this, my princess?" He asked me.

"You're the expert at reading people. What does my face say right now?" I replied.

Shingen smiled. "Your face says that you want me as badly as I want you." He answered.

"That would be a good read." I replied.

He carried me over to the futon and sat down. He then lowered me into his lap. "I promise, I will be gentle and take this slow." He told me, his fingers tracing along my jaw before coming to rest beneath my chin.

"I know." I replied, relishing in the feel of his touch.

"If anything feels off or you feel uncomfortable in any way, tell me my love." He spoke now, the love and concern in his eyes.

"I promise." I replied. "But I don't think anything is going to feel off...nothing feels more right than being with you."

Fire burned in Shingen's eyes as he gazed at me. He slowly drew in closer. "When you say things like that...it really tests my restraint." He replied, his warm breath washing over my lips as his hovered just millimeters away.

I couldn't wait any longer. I closed the short distance, pressing my lips to his. He smiled into the kiss as his arms wound around my waist. I flicked my tongue out over his lips until he parted his lips and welcomed my tongue inside and meeting it with his.

While we had shared many kisses and embraces since my rescue, there had been restraint there. The kisses hadn't been this passionate and I hadn't realized just how starved for Shingen I was until I finally had him. We parted after an immeasurable moment, both of us panting.

"I have missed kissing you like that." Shingen said to me, echoing my own thoughts.

"You're reading me once again. I was thinking the same thing." I replied. I was then turning in his lap so that I completely faced him, my legs wrapping around his waist.

Our lips met in another hungry kiss. He pulled back after a few moments only to bring his lips to my neck, trailing sweet and sensual kisses as he went. His hands found my sash and undid the knot, pulling it away. I pulled my kimono open for him, eagerly wanting his hands on my bare skin.

He pulled back from my neck and smiled at me, as he traced a finger along my collarbone. "I thought we were supposed to be taking things slowly, my angel." He teased.

"It's been too long." I replied. "I need your skin on mine." I was then reaching to undo his kimono.

Shingen chuckled warmly, his laughter washing over me like waves on the ocean. He didn't fight me as I undressed him. "It has indeed been too long." He agreed, pulling me back for another kiss once we were both bared.

The feeling of his flesh against mine, his hands roaming over my body, lavishing my curves with tender affection. His lips moved down my neck and to my breasts, where he tenderly nipped at the hard buds. I was so hot and already wet. "Shin...gen...please..." I moaned.

"Mmm...as you wish my love." He told me, as he gripped my hips. He guided me onto him.

A cry escaped my lips at the feeling of him inside of me after so long. He continued to lavish me in kisses as I bounced up and down on him. We both moaned as our pleasure continued to build.

In the next moments, Shingen had moved us so that I was now lying back on the futon. He was then thrusting into me. My hand sought his and we laced our fingers together as he continued to sweetly love me. Each thrust was long and deep. I could feel every last inch of him as he moved.

"Ah...mm...yes! Shingen...yes!" I cried out.

"Ava...my angel..." He called back.

We continued on for a while before finally cresting that last wave together. The pleasure was so intense, I was still twitching afterwards as we lay in the futon holding each other. Shingen kissed my forehead tenderly. "Are you feeling alright, my love?" He asked me.

I smiled. "Oh, I feel more than alright." I answered.

"I am glad to hear that."

I snuggled closer, enjoying the afterglow of our love-making. I could feel my eyelids growing heavy, though it was only midday. My body exhausted from finally getting the release it had been craving for weeks...or that may have just been the pregnancy...or a combination, I wasn't sure.

Shingen began to rub soothing circles in my back as he held me tighter. "Feeling tired?" He asked me.

"Maybe...just a little." I answered. "But I don't want to go to sleep yet."

Shingen chuckled. "Feel free to rest peacefully in my arms, my love." He told me. "If you wish, I can wake you with a kiss after you've napped for a while."

"But sleeping seems..." I let out a yawn then. "...like such a waste, when we finally got the all clear."

"I will just love you more when you wake up." He replied, kissing my brow once again. He then lifted a hand to the back of my head and began to massage my scalp.

"Mmm..." I murmured, my eyes closing. "That...feels...nice."

"Rest well, my princess."

Safe, warm, and satisfied, it wasn't long before I was falling asleep in Shingen's arms. Sweet dreams awaited me.

Shingen lay there holding his wife in his arms, gazing at her lovingly. The early afternoon sun spilled in from the open window, casting a heavenly golden glow about her. A tender smile came to his lips. "You truly are a sleeping angel." He whispered to her. "Definitely no siren."

After laying there for a while, just watching her sleep, Shingen gently untangled himself from his love and climbed out of bed. He knew she would likely be waking up soon and would probably be hungry. He put on his kimono and stepped out to find one of the maids. He requested food be brought to them in an hour before turning back to his sleeping wife.

He sat there and reached his fingers out to gently play with her now short strands of hair. It had already started to grow back out just a bit below her chin now. No matter what, he couldn't help but to feel that she was the most beautiful woman in the world.

The food was brought what seemed like a short while later and the smell was soon wafting over to their futon. Shingen could tell the moment the aroma reached Ava as she began to stir. "Hmm...that...smells...delicious." She muttered sleepily.

Shingen watched as her eyes gently fluttered open. They soon came to focus on him and he gave her a smile. "Did you sleep well?" He asked, his fingers still playing in her hair.

She returned the smile. "Yes...but what happened to you waking me up with a kiss? And why aren't you still in bed with me?" She asked, pouting playfully.

"I had a feeling that when you awoke, you might be hungry." Shingen answered.

Ava pursed her lips. "Well...I'm kind of always hungry right now so that was a good guess."

Shingen chuckled. "I did expect that I would still be able to wake you with a kiss though, but it appears I should have done that before the food arrived."

Ava's cheeks reddened. "It's not my fault...pregnancy can heighten a woman's sense of smell you know."

She's so adorable right now. Shingen thought. I can't help myself. He was then leaning down and placing a gentle kiss on her lips.

She looked up at him, her cheeks still red, but a smile on her face. She appeared to warm beneath his loving gaze. "What's that look on your face?" She asked.

"Just thinking about how adorable my wife is." He answered.

Ava was about to say something when her stomach let out a growl. "I guess the baby is telling me to eat." She said, a smile on her face.

Shingen was then helping Ava to get up and she slid on a robe before they sat back down to enjoy their meal together. She happily dug into the food, smiling the entire time. How can one person be so adorable? Shingen thought as he watched Ava eat the fish, rice and steamed vegetables. Everything she did was so cute.

She looked over at him as she finished her last bite of food. "That was delicious. I'm glad you had it brought in."

"Anything for my princess." He replied. He was then reaching up his hand to place his fingers beneath her chin. He traced her lower lip with his thumb. "Are you still hungry?" He asked.

He watched as Ava's eyes darkened in an attractive alluring way. Her lips parted and a slight gasp escaped them. "Not...for food." She answered.

Shingen smiled at her as he snaked his other arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him. "Good...we have a lot of time to make up for." He then captured her lips in a passionate kiss that was the beginning of yet another round of gentle love-making.

Climbing up that ladder, mister. Did he always have cigars, or is it showing his new Big Fish status

- Now past and present is mixing but everyone is singing as if they’re one crew

- Of course Brook died last

- “If you wanna join my crew, all I ask is that you love music! This is the ship of the Rumba Pirates, who can bring a smile to any child’s face!”

- “Laboon! You just wait right there! We’ll come straight back here! That’s a promise!”

- Ok, I think flashback is over for good now

- “Laboon! If you’ve been waiting there all this time… for these fifty long years… Could you just possibly wait…just another one or two?” look at that

- “For I, too… have the true spirit of a pirate!” Brook will join Straw Hats. Here to the new beginnings

- “Next issue, One Piece will be taking a break, so the author can collect data” that must have been horrible then, waiting for a next chapter after *gestures at the whole flashback*, and then author takes a break :D No but seriously, Oda should take care of himself. Even after killing me like that, like holy sh*t

One Piece 30 Day Challenge

Day 3 Favorite Arc: Sabaody Archipelago

Oh, man i don't even know where to start.

Well, i guess from the beginning.

When we once again arrive to the Red Line we need to deal with the same problem as on Skypea. Bla-bla-bla Camie is here bla-bla we meet Hachi bla-bla let's get to interesting stuff.

So, first use of Conquerors Haki from our rubber boi. But... why now? We know that ch awaken in state of stress/danger yet Luffy doesn't have neither at the moment... or does he? Ofcourse he does. He's brother dying and he doesn't know what to do. It's really cool little detail which adds to him being captain and recalls Zoro's words from Water 7.

Then we arrive on Sabaody and shit hits the fan. Racial discrimination - check, slavery - check, tyranny - check (it's not even a tyranny it's beyond classism as well). And what i love most about One Piece in general is that all these heavy themes wrapped in wrapper of goofy characters, cartoon-ish style and kids-dream locations.

Here we in bubble land with cool attraction park and huge trees have slave auctions, despise fishmen and please-celesteal-dont-kill-me.

Apparently, at the moment in this bubble land we have nine more pirates with bounty more than 100 million. And we get introduced to Eleven Supernovas. Oh gosh, i love them. I adore their introduction and how Oda in couple panels can describe personality of a character.

Well, after that stuff going. There is a lot of cool moments and little details but i'm too lazy to describe and explain them

So we skeep to auction house and from now on i will just scream AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATHREECAPTAINSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATHEPUNCHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALAW'SREACTIONAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARAYLEIGHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATHREECAPTAINSFIGHTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH

And then despair. I can't describe it otherwise (oh wait i can - "otchayanie" ru, "zetsubo" jp). It's crushing. Especially for Luffy. His biggest fear. Loneliness.

I think time to time about this sequence - Sabaody, Impel Down, Marineford. Luffy was crushed after Sabaody, just fact, that he's haki started to explode more frequently, tells a lot. Then Bon-chan sacrifice - he failed again. Then Ace and he failed again. No matter what actually happened - he sees it as failure. Failure after failure after failure. He is strong, but no person is invincible. So he lays. On the ground. Face down. Trying to wreck his body to condition of his spirit

In honor of its anniversary... drop some unpopular OP thoughts, please?

Are you prepared for the can of worms you just opened? 😂 Here’s a random assortment of unpopular One Piece thoughts:

Fishman Island was a fantastic arc. I’ve never understood why people dislike it, when there’s so much good stuff there! World building, foreshadowing, great reveals and wonderful character interactions...Likewise, I have a blast rereading Punk Hazard every time.

I know this is a big thing for some people, but I don’t mind the female designs in the manga. The anime makes them far worse by forcing weird “sexy” angles without a good reference for how those would even look in Oda’s style, making them look really ugly while also disrupting Oda’s fantastic grasp of scene composition.

I liked Koala during the Fisher Tiger flashback, and was really excited about her reappearance. But since then she’s been completely uninteresting and hasn’t done anything noteworthy.

I don’t want Oda to kill more characters, and I don’t think more character death will improve the series.

All Marines are bastards; no exceptions. Garp, Koby, Smoker, Fujitora—they’re all actively promoting slavery and I will never care for any of them because their association with the rotten system. No excuses.

I hate all Rebecca redesigns because they completely ignore the literal rules of the Coliseum and the fact that Rebecca wore more clothing than the rest of the gladiators. It’s literally stated in the story that the audience wants blood, not armor.

Zoro ain’t beating Kaidou folks that just ain’t happening

Lots of people seem to dislike the implications of Luffy having been destined for this all along, but I love it, especially how well its been built up to. The concept of inherited will is at the center of One Piece; this idea that even if individuals fail, so long as they pass on their ideals to the next generation, little by little, someday someone will succeed. Especially when it’s in the context of the D people/tribe; it’s heavily implied that the D are victims of a genocide and the remnants of them have been scattered to the winds, struggling to find their place in world that despises their very existence, destined to someday succeed not because it’s meant to be but because they won’t give up until they manage it...That all really resonates with me. It’s not at all a traditional or cliche interpretation of destiny.

I really don’t get why people get so frustrated with Sanji’s gags. They’ve never bothered me at all. Some of them can actually be pretty funny.

I like Zoro but I despise all Zoro fans and frankly they always manage to make me like him less and less every time they open their mouths.

The canon Strawhats will always be infinitely better than every fanon interpretation of them, especially canon Sanji and canon Usopp.

I'm going to start off and say that I full heartily pair Zoro and Tashigi and I also believe they may be a slow burn pairing. However, I don't know why but I have this feeling that Mr. Oda is hinting that Hiyori and Zoro will end up together. They do parallel with Toki and Oden and I've also been told that Hiyori is supposed to be Zoro's romantic interest but who the hell knows at this point. What are your thoughts? 💖

Okay, it’s not my intention to judge other people’s ships so if anyone reading this ships Zoro and Hiyori, you go for it. Don’t mind me. Though my OTP will always be Zoro/Tashigi, I ship them both with other people too, so I’m not against the idea of supporting any new Zoro ship. But when it comes to Zoro/Hiyori, I personally don’t much like this pairing nor see potential in it. I’ll try to explain why.

Though first I’d like to ask you about “They do parallel with Toki and Oden” and “I've also been told that Hiyori is supposed to be Zoro's romantic interest” because I’m like– uhm what? Where do these come from? I can’t comment on the second because unless you were told that by Oda himself, it’s just something another fan made up. As for the first, I’m trying but I really don’t see how Zoro and Hiyori would parallel Oden and Toki. Their dynamic is totally different, same for the circumstances in which they met. The only “parallel” I see is that Toki and Hiyori look and feel so similar that they are basically the same character, but that’s to attribute to Oda’s lack of originality for these two princess-y characters IMO.

The way I see it, the first part of Wano – the one set on the main island – is basically a big Edo jidai homage from Oda. He crafted this homage by using many tropes he took from mythology, folklore or classic Japanese movies and put into the story. Zoro’s initial role in Wano was that of the rōnin, the wandering samurai without a master. He was basically a walking trope. And what do rōnin do in movies? They kill the evil magistrates (check), gamble (check), travel by boat drinking sake (check), side with the oppressed population (check), duel with bandits on bridges (check), save the damsel in distress and are repaid (check)... Like I said, tropes.

I see rōnin-Zoro saving princess Hiyori (and Toko) and being repaid by being bandaged up, fed, and even given a new sword as Oda’s take on a well-established Edo jidai trope, that the author also used to introduce the character of Hiyori to us. I personally didn’t see any intention from Oda to set up anything romantic or even long lasting between the characters with those scenes.

I’ve seen some people say Hiyori has a crush on Zoro because of how she blushes and behaves around him. But to be honest, Hiyori is often drawn with a “cute” blush even when she’s not interacting with Zoro; and the way she clung to Zoro is no different from how she clung to Kawamatsu. That’s just her nature.

As for Zoro, I never saw any hint from him that he might be interested in her. It seems his main reason for staying with her the last time we saw them together was because she’s Momo’s sister and he felt a duty to protect her. After Kawamatsu joined them and took on the role of Hiyori’s protector, Zoro just left her side.

I also don’t think Zoro and Hiyori are a good fit, from what I’ve seen so far. I don’t think a cute, meek princess who does things like apologizing for being a burden (sigh) would be Zoro’s type. Here’s a post I recently reblogged that talks about this “type” thing. I agree with @neomarines that Zoro needs someone that challenges him – both mentally and physically – as his partner. How would Zoro and Hiyori’s hypothetical couple life be? What do they have in common? How can they develop each other’s potential? I personally can’t imagine any interesting couple dynamic between them.

Hiyori is a character clearly tied to Wano that I expect to stay there once this arc is over, to care for her people and help her brother rule. That’s what every princess in One Piece has done so I don’t expect her to be different, especially when she has shown to be very attached to her country and expressed no desire to leave. So her becoming even more of a replica of her mother, being a stay-at-home lady while Zoro travels the world like Oden is frankly a scenario I’d dislike.

Finally, from an author/fandom perspective, it's not very typical of shōnen authors to have a main character end up with a side character that was introduced 21 years into the story in one of the final arcs. It'd feel like a last-minute decision to many fans, and casual fans wouldn't even remember this one-arc-only Hiyori character Zoro ended up with. That's one of the reasons I think Zoro/Tashigi is more likely to happen, because Oda has been developing their relationship since Loguetown, and Tashigi is a beloved and established character.

I do agree that Zoro and Hiyori are an aesthetically pleasing pairing when Zoro is in his rōnin outfit. But that’s about it. Just aesthetic. And the badass-sword-couple aesthetic of ZoTash is still superior IMO.

I think it’s pretty obvious that I’m not Hiyori’s biggest fan either. She’s been a bit of a disappointment for me since she shed the Komurasaki persona and I hope Oda will give her something more to do yet. I also don’t find her particularly original or interesting as a character especially when compared to the other Wano ladies.

So yeah, these are my thoughts so far. Of course they might change in the future depending on how the story develops, but so far Zoro/Hiyori is a no-no for me.

Hi:) Thank you so much! Haha these were more like “bromance anime recommendations” lists. I’m glad you liked them romances. Here’s part 1 and part 2 :)

14. Hakkenden Touhou Hakken Ibun.

The relationship of the couple in this anime are one of the best on so many levels. They’re one of those “even the darkest part of me can’t hurt you” superior ships. They’re two of the main characters, 2 out 8 of the reincarnated warriors (who are all handsome af haha) that are meant to.. you know… save the world.

They’re both on the verge of death at the beginning and one (Shino) in order to survive agrees to live with a demonic sword inside of him which prevents him from growing old and growing per se (which is really sad for many reasons plus you’ll see him once in his 18-year old body and he’s so gorgeous), the other (Sousuke) takes half of a life from a dog, so he can tranform into it whenever he wants.

The problem is that during all of that Sousuke has split and lost his shadow aka the dark part of himself. His shadow works for the dark side, but all he really wants is Shino. The most amazing thing is that Sousuke loves Shino so much, that even his dark part would never ever hurt him. Like his shadow does some pretty terrible stuff to others like once he has made a deal with a girl so she would gave him her eyes just because Shino has said that they’re pretty lmao (I’m sory but its kinda funny), but he gets so pissed when Shino is hurt. So it’s the same as Akashi & Kuroko and Gauche & Lag: even for the darkest part of him the other one is his weakness.

Also this is one of the animes where LITERALLY the power of gay love saves the world by the end. (p.s. sorry, Genpachi, I love you the most and I know you like Shino too, but your flirting can’t beat such deep feelings lol).

15. Assassination Classroom.

Not gonna spoil anything about plot, so I’ll say it’s about “problematic” kids trying to kill their teacher who has superpowers and that’s it. This anime is full of controversial stuff, like I really questioned things and what’s right or wrong, but one thing for sure is that no matter of what you think about the situation, you will 100% cry at the end. I personally think it’s a kinda happy ending considering all the stuff, but opinions are very different when it comes to this anime.

Now for the ship. Let’s just start with the fact that both Karma and Nagisa have ehhhh… psychological problems haha (but who doesn’t in this anime? lol). So Karma is a sadist (like for real, he likes to get creative with torturing) and I think he’s also a yandere when it comes to Nagisa. He threatens to kill those who even talk bad about Nagisa and once has almost beaten to death those who bullied him (which I didn’t mind tbh lmao). He never does anything if others ask, but when/if Nagisa says “please”, he immediately says yes (which is also funny).

They both are in awe with each other and think the other one is absolutely incredible so it’s like a two-sided fan club. Karma is really scary, but when it comes to Nagisa he can be fluffy af. He also doesn’t care about people much, but Nagisa is his everything. Like the “I give up” moment will melt your heart, that was so cute.

So this is one of those “you’re the only exception” ships. Bc Karma is a person who will enjoy skinning ppl alive, but when he’s with Nagisa he likes to hug, pick him up and coo about Nagisa’s height, play tag, discuss his fav movies and tickle fight. I’m like… I’m just… this is great.

16. Bungou Stray Dogs.

This one is about a detective agency where everyone has superpowers who are “enemies” with the mafia group where everyone has superpowers, but actually they’re all friends and half of the detective agency date the mafia xD (I’m sorry, but it’s the truth). Like I still don’t get why they won’t just make one organization, this is getting ridiculous.

I’m not a huge fan of the anime per se tbh, because like it has way too many characters who I can’t even feel for cause supposedly they’ve had a dramatic past, but what past nobody tells, so I like can’t empathize to someone who’s an asshole without knowing why he is that way. Plus there’re many characters in animes who have had a horrible childhood/past but are incredible people (hello to Todoroki and Levi). And some characters there for some reason are degrading instead of progressing which is the worst for me. But it’s pretty entertaining to watch if you won’t think much about stuff, powers are cool and it’s drawn beautifully (but there is one scene that was repeated 28 times 28 TIMES!, we’ve counted just for laughs, guess which xD, that’s like.. they could’ve made time for a whole new episode instead of this)

There’s one character whose progression is so incredible though that I’m happy to watch just for him. It’s Akutagawa. He’s like grown so much and I love everything about him, how he went from trying to kill Atsushi to risking his life for him and letting him use rashomon, how he’s homey with his sister and how he’s so good with feeling his powers, how Kyouka tried to kill him and he was like “I’m so glad you’re happy now”. Bitch, like that’s the character progression I’m asking for! Man, he’s just… he’s my favorite, I love seeing many sides of him. He made me so happy in s3 when I was ready to turn it off lmao

So there are two main ships in this anime. Dazai and Chuuya. They are one of those perfect combinations. But not in a usual way you think.. like characteristically. Chuuya’s full power is uncontrollable and the only one who can stop him is Dazai, cause his ability is to nullify other’s abilities, so he’s the only one who can stop Chuuya and also save him from being destroyed by his own power. So basically Chuuya trusts Dazai with his own life when they work together (which is.. I’d be scared if I was in Chuuya’s place lmao). It’s not like I’m scared that Dazai’s gonna let him die or anything, but stuff like “let’s watch a bit longer how Chuuya is going nuts cause it’s funny” doesn’t seem funny to me.

Let’s just say, I do ship them, I think they’d be perfect together if Dazai was like a fanfiction Dazai, you know. But the truth here is firstly their relationships progression is zero to none, like yeah, it’s fun to watch them bicker, but it like won’t give you any deep feelings. Plus Dazai was the most humane and emotional when he was with Oda (which I really don’t get, Oda was a dumbass tbh, like who makes a children shelter while working in MAFIA???! ofc they were fucking killed). Like Oda’s so special for him but then he treats Chuuya and Akutagawa like shit. And he had more feelings for Oda’s matchbox than for Chuuya in the last season. So my heart just won’t lie there fully, you know. Because there are no moments there that indicate like he’s the one for him.

Now to Akutagawa and Atsushi. This is a classic enemies to lovers stuff. Like they go from trying to kill each other to risking their lives for each other. They warm my heart on so many levels. So they’re both struggling to get over of their past and can’t. But then by the end they help each other to let go of their demons, they give each other what others couldn’t. Like I still can’t believe Atsushi came in like a wrecking ball and said the words Akutagawa wanted to hear for ages (his face, his face lol he was like “w-w-what?”). Atsushi himself admitted that Akutagawa is his cure in the last season.

These two are like also hilarious bc they both think that they’re trash so their arguments are like “you’re the best”, “no, you’re the best”. Like Atsushi literally goes “Akutagawa is so strong and amazing, but he still thinks he’s weak” what a bae xD and Akutagawa thinks that he’s nowhere as good as Atsushi so it’s really funny. The relationships progression is like insane. They went from beating each other into a blood puddles to covering each other from bullets and being like “honey, don’t you dare die, I was going to kill you myself” lol

I still can’t believe Akautagawa gave Atsushi rashomon… he was wearing rashomon. I mean his ability, which is a part of him was okay with Atsushi using her. I mean.. maaaaaan fanfiction does come true! And they’re like the representation of yin and yang characteristically and even appereance-wise and I think it’s super cool. Plus the “lawnmower” is the cutest pet name I’ve ever heard lol

Anywho, this anime has like 20 bromances, so pick whichever you like.

Damn, that got long and I’ve only mentioned 3 haha, sorry. That way it’s gonna be like 50 parts xD

Chapter 1081 — Kuzan, the tenth Blackbeard captain

And thus the prophesies became true and Kuzan, protégé of Garp and admiral of the navy, was confirmed as the tenth titanic captain of the Blackbeard pirates. And lo, he is firm in his conviction and supports his new master and doubt does not plague him.

The chapter is gorgeous. Although I’m still miffed about the quality of the line work, the panelling is beautiful.

a) Great timing and teamwork! These people have been doing this before.

b) How does it feel for Pizarro to get his body modified like that? Can he override Prince Grus’s powers or do their powers cancel each other out?

c) Confirmation of Garp’s Conqueror’s Haki

d) GIVE US GOD VALLEY, ODA, I NEED TO SEE WHAT GARP AT PEAK POWER WAS LIKE (if he’s losing his touch here)

So Garp will obviously lose here and get captured (I don’t think Oda is going to kill him) together with Koby and the rest of the marines. I can’t think of a narrative that would let them escape here (will come back to this later) and we need something to kick off the final battle — why not Blackbeard kidnapping Luffy’s family and oldest friends?

I just want to point out the beautiful little foreshadowing of Garp’s grey focus and the very pretty panel of Hibari-san freezing over.

I wonder why Kuzan didn’t freeze Koby?

I wonder if it's less ambiguous in the original, but "It's be a bad look if Koby escapes" does scream FORESHADOWING FOR TURNCOAT-KUZAN with big, neon letters.

So at least Vasco Shot, Doc Q and Juan Wolf picked a fight with Kuzan and got popsicled. Why were they there in the first place? What is Blackbeard’s plan?

Nice to see how they met, as well! What a meet-cute. "You froze all my friends, let's be pals!" And confirmation for the rumours(?) about Kuzan losing a leg to Akainu. That's got to hurt.

And of course, his temper is quite something.

This is actually quite interesting: Kuzan seems much more on edge now, which might be understandable since he’s now missing the Marine safety net. He wasn’t quite as quick to the draw before the time skip. Of course, here he was just (indirectly) threatened with horrible death and dismemberment, and great reactions to freeze his opponents in a heartbeat, but still.

However: the Blackbeard captains seem to lack haki since they all got frozen over and Garp bursts out quite easily (as did Whitebeard at Marineford).

And iiiinteresting — I didn’t realise that Kuzan was Garp’s previous protégé. I knew Garp favoured him over Akainu, but this confirmation is new, yes?

Garp will probably lose, but Hachinosu is keeping me on tenterhooks!

And then.

And then my poor heart broke.

Into a thousand little pieces.

Like the Polar Tang.

Sinking into the sea.

Please Franky; please fix it.

Not even SULONG-BEPO (!!!) is enough for this heartbreak.

(SULONG-BEPO! AMAZING JOB, CHOPPER! Guessing it’s the Rumble Ball.)

I wonder why Oda saved Law. Is he such a fan favourite that he couldn’t have the same sound defeat as Kid (who didn’t escape)? Is there a deeper meaning to the ‘picking fights’ and ‘defending yourself’? Is there something to the ‘trust you crew’ mentality Oda wants to point out?

(And silly Bepo: the Hearts will be captured and then you and Law are going on a suicide-rescue mission.)

Great (although heart rendering) chapter! I give it my sanity and pieces of my broken heart.

IkeSen PS Vita: Ranmaru

While waiting for Kennyo’s route to come out on 23/12/19 (my main motivation is to see Kichou because Kaji Yuuki will voice him!), I played Ranmaru’s route on the PS Vita. There are 3 ends: Sengoku end, Modern end, Tragic love end. I tried to summarize as short as I could but it’s still too long so I put it under the cut >_>

[Photo 2] R: Everybody, rather than your crying face, I want to see your smiles. So, smile for me?

[Photo 3] After a while, the large peach tree was replanted firmly in the middle of the garden.

[Photo 4] R: I promise, no matter what happens, I’ll definitely protect only you, so don’t worry.

[Photo 5] Y (During R’s difficult times, I’m glad I can be with him like this. He is kind, he tries to best, he’s serious ... he must have lots of worries that no one know about. I hope I can be a support for him)

[Photo 6] R brought me to a shack, he confessed that he was a spy for Kennyo, came to Azuchi with the goal to kill Nobu, but the more time he spent with Nobu, he understood and respected Nobu very much and couldn't kill him. And everybody at Azuchi has been kind to him, except Mitsuhide - by whom R had to try not get caught. R told me: “I was an orphan during war, living day by day was tough. I was so hungry like I could die. Then one day when I was about 4-5 years old, I saw a peach tree near a temple. I knew it was wrong but I climbed up the tree and stole some peaches to eat. A monk spotted me but instead of tying me up with ropes, he patted my head gently, picked another ripe peach to put it into my hand, smiled warmly and told me to eat another one. That monk was Kennyo-sama. That was the first time I thought.. maybe, it's ok for me to live in this world. The peaches were so sweet... my tears couldn't stop flowing. Kennyo-sama raised me - an orphan. He is the world to me. I can do anything for him ... Nobunaga-sama has forever taken away Kennyo-sama's smile... but I love Kennyo-sama's smile, I will do anything to get it back.” I asked R is there anything I could do to support him. He hugged me and said:

R: I intended to only be the cute little brother in front of you ... but seems like it’s impossible now. I’m serious, I love you *kiss

Y (I’m embarrassed ... but happy that Ranmaru-kun also likes me ...)

Actually R slipped a sleeping drug into my mouth via the kiss, then I lost consciousness.

SENGOKU END

Miss, I know I have no rights to ask you, but from now on, please stay by R’s side.

Ranmaru returned at the war council to explain he escaped from Honno-ji leaving Nobu behind in the fire. He was abt to do seppuku but I asked Nobu to spare him. Nobu agreed bc R has talents, it’d be a waste to kill him

[Photo 1] After the meeting I was lost trying to find my way back to my room, R approached me, suddenly his pet Shippo (a short tail weasel) popped up from his collar and jumped on my shoulder. R said it’s strange for Shippo to be so friendly to anyone other than him. I was happy that both R and Shippo were kind to me, R wanted to know me better. [Photo 2] On the way, lots of maids fangirl around R.

I was anxious abt whether I could go back to my time, I sewed to distract myself. R went in with a package of Mantou (Chinese sweet bun) that the maids had given him earlier to share with me. Suddenly he brushed across my lip to wipe away the red bean paste, I got dokidoki. He asked where I came from, I panicked trying to think of an answer, but Mitsunari knocked saying Hideyoshi was looking for R so R left.

That night, he visited again and explained he saw me stepping out of the light appearing in Honno-ji and saved Nobu, he thought I was a god from heaven. I replied I was only a normal human, not a god, and showed him my bag of stuff from the future. I told him to please keep my true origin secret from people, he whispered in my ear “This is a secret for just two of us"

[Photo 3] Next day, R showed me around the castle, a lot of people came to him for advice. He showed me a tribute peach tree to Nobu that would be replanted into the garden tmr, but if only it could be done today, poor tree. R went to ask Hideyoshi for help, who brought along Mitsunari, Ieyasu, Masamune and Mitsuhide to help move the tree. Yasu was being typical grumpy not really want to help aweee; R didn’t want to trouble Mitsuhide but he offered to help ;)The tree was successfully replanted, R looked very happy. Later R thanked me for helping, I thanked him for helping me getting closer to people at Azuchi. I noticed his smile to me now is more natural, not as idol smile as earlier. I blurted out I wanted to be his fan. I had to explain idol is a special popular person, fan is someone who supports idol, I didn’t mean anything strange, just purely wanted to support him. He said whatever meaning is fine, he was happy I wanted to be get on well with him. I asked isn’t it tiring to always smile/be kind to people? He replied no, in order to be liked by people, he will put efforts in to do anything, and asked me what idols in the future do to make fans happy? Shake hand. Suddenly his face is cloudy .. he can't meet his fans in the future world bc he must live in this area. I wasn't mistaken, sometimes R looked very lonely, I wondered if there were many faces of him I haven't seen.

The next few days, I saw R sneak out of the castle. Mitsuhide saw my worried face and told me to try talk to him. I explained I was worried if R got into any trouble and kept sneaking out, oh wait, was Mitsuhide suspicious that R was plotting sth? But I still trusted R to be a good person though. Mitsuhide said if I wanted to believe that, do as I like.

I asked R directly where he went. He told me to come together with him next time. So apparently he walked into town and a bunch of girls went to talk to him, asking for his signed hand-prints. We bumped into Sasuke and Yukimura, who explained themselves as merchants. Sasuke whispered to me he'd visit my room that night.

Sasuke came to tell me he worked for Kenshin, and war was likely happen soon, so try not to go out a lot and stay near the warlords to be safe. R was outside listening to everything.

I saw R sneaking out again and followed him all the way to the wood. Suddenly he stopped and I bumped into his back. He explained he came here to secretly practice martial arts bc last time he couldn't do anything to save Nobu, pls keep this a secret. He asked why I followed him, I said the town was getting restless due to upcoming war so I was worried abt him. He said I was a kind and brave princess, and wanted to reward me with a kiss. Ohnonono, R, please treasure yourself, no need to kiss to thank me haha.

During war council, Nobu announced I'd go to battlefield with them. Later R went to the wood to report back all the Oda plans to Kennyo.

[Photo 4] At the battlefield, I was nervous, R said he'd protect me no matter what. That night R sneaked out to the wood to meet Kennyo. Kennyo ordered R to bring me to him. [Photo 5] I saw R when he returned to camp, looking all gloomy, but I told him I wouldn't ask until he was ready to tell me. He asked to stay like this (resting his head on my shoulder) for a while.

Next day, a messenger came to report to Nobu and Mitsuhide that they found the corpse of another messenger aka Nobu's plan didn't reach Hideyoshi’s army. At the same time, some men jumped out trying to attack us. One of them was aiming for me, R stood in front of me to protect me, luckily Nobu cut that man down saving both of us. Mitsuhide noticed these men weren't from Kenshin or Shingen, must be a third party. Nobu said he and Mitsuhide had to go to the front line, and entrusted R to protect me. Mitsuhide asked is this really ok, he knew who R sneaked out to meet with last night ... Nobu said when he made a decision, he judged the importance from the information he got with his own eyes, ears and feeling; if he had any doubt, he'd have finish R himself; he’d say this one more time, he entrusted me to R. Then both of them gone, another attacker arrived, he looked down on R but R threw out a kunai, knocking him down. I wondered why R was carrying ninja's weapon?

However, he slipped sleeping drug into my mouth via the kiss and I lost consciousness. When I woke up, Hideyoshi was there to bring me back to camp. R sent message to Hideyoshi that I was in this shack but he was no where to be found.

When we got back to camp, R was fighting Nobu. I realized R was torn not wanting to betray either Nobu or Kennyo, so he was trying to get Nobu to kill him ...Nobu won, he told R: “I can cut off your head, but the life you throw away, I’d take it, From now on, live for yourself. You can come back to my side anytime if you choose to do so.”

Nobu held a meeting with Kenshin and Shigen about holding off fighting until they stop Kennyo. R was resolved to go find Kennyo and persuade him to stop revenge.

Sengoku end (2 CGs)

I suggested we come back to the present time to find a proof that Hongan-ji was restored so that Kennyo will let go of revenge. Sasuke, R and I went back to the modern time.

[Photo 7] While Sasuke went back to his lab to do analysis, I and R had lunch bento on a park bench, R looked so happy. R was very popular to women (they thought he was an idol) and kids (because of ninja outfit)

Sasuke called to say wormhole would open tomorrow. After we got back to the Sengoku time, Sasuke went back to Kenshin, while we started searching for Kennyo in the wood.

After a loooong while, we found Kennyo at the peach tree where he first met R. A lot of talking, no use, so I showed him our proofs: the photos of me and R smiling with a peace sign in front of Hongan-ji in the modern time, also photos of the World heritage site board for Hongan-ji. Kennyo was surprised, this must be from Buddha, this Hongan-ji was exactly how he envisioned to rebuild it. R said please stop the revenge to restore Hongan-ji instead, so that this future modern time will stay true.

Finally Kennyo agreed to stop the fighting, though he slowly backed away to ... a cliff. Kennyo jumped off the cliff, I stopped R from jumping. We rushed down the river bank trying to find Kennyo, but nothing, there were only fireflies flying beautifully in the night. R was heartbroken, but I showed him the photos again. In the photo, the panel (that explained history) wrote Kennyo was the person who restored Hongan-ji. If Kennyo died, we couldn't have taken these photos with Hongan-ji in the modern time. I believed Kennyo must be alive somehow, somewhere, waiting for the day he can rebuild Hongan-ji. R wanted to believe in that too.

[Photo 8] We were heading back to Azuchi, staying at an inn on the way. R said he wanted to let me sleep bc I must be tired after all these, but.. he whispered into my ears: “I want all of you". I replied I wanted him too. Intense kisses, happy night yay :3 Next day, R told me he was half a man, so he decided to go on a trip to visit many places, meet many people, broaden his world. I was sad thinking he wanted to leave me behind, but he said: “Please come with me on this trip. It won't be all fun traveling around, but even so, I want you to be by my side.” I agreed and we embraced each other happily.

Modern end (2 CGs)

R and I tried to go find Kennyo before Nobu & Co did. Ranmaru heard a gunshot so asked me to stay put waiting for him while he went to check. After a while, I heard footsteps, but a cloth was put over my mouth and I lost consciousness. I woke up in a cell and there was Kennyo. I tried to persuade him to give up revenge, but he refused to listen.

In the wood, R returned and couldn’t find me. Nobu’s vassal arrived to tell him abt the letter from Kennyo informing he had kidnapped me. R arrived at the castle where I was held. Kennyo dragged me out of the cell to see R. R didn’t want to fight with Kennyo but had to. Kennyo said R was holding back, was R looking down on his strength? Fine, he’d cut me down. R protected me and his sword cut a line across Kennyo’s chest. I realized Kennyo pretended to attack me to make R angry and attack him...

[Photo 9] Kennyo: “It seems like I still have something more important than revenge … To me, you are more important than revenge. R refused to let Kennyo die, he put Kennyo’s arm on his shoulder and bring him to the nearby doctor’s for treatment. He didn’t sleep for days to look after Kennyo.

Kennyo woke up. R was very happy, he said: Nobu-sama was still after Kennyo-sama, so Kennyo-sama should escape and live to restore Hongan-ji. Kennyo said he’d learn from R, search for a new future, one day when he found a new path that he should go, will R come meet him again?

Afterwards, we parted with Kennyo to return to Nobu-sama, Kennyo said he gave up and revenge and would go into hiding. Nobu said if Kennyo no longer held malicious intentions, no need to go after him, the war ended.

R was thinking what he wanted to do for the future. We were walking in town, Sasuke appeared to tell us abt the worm hole appearing soon. Ranmaru wanted to go see the modern world I lived in, I agreed.

[Photo 10] R was also very popular to modern people. He was scouted then later debuted as an idol while I became his exclusive stylist and designed his clothes. We lived in both the sengoku and modern time, and brought the R’s idol bromide back to sengoku time to show Sasuke haha. Sasuke said we should visit the Oda warlords. In the garden, we found the peach tree still growing well. I was reaching out to take one peach (Nobu permitted us to eat), but R suddenly kissed me and helped me get the peach. Then we talked abt how happy we were bc we had each other.

Tragic love end (No CG)

We were back in Azuchi and Ranmaru was prepared to face the Oda warlords abt his betrayal. However, when we entered the war council, everybody were friendly caring like normal. Mitsuhide explained they weren’t that surprised abt R working as a spy, also R didn’t mean any harm, so to them, R no longer was a spy. As per Nobu’s order, R explained his story, he was willing to take any punishments, but before that, there was sth he must do: stop Kennyo from carrying out revenge. Nobu allowed him to go.

R returned my bag to me, I told him abt my dream as designer, but I decided to give it up, not return to modern time and live in this era with him

Next day, I was looking at the garden one last time when Nobu asked me why I was alone. R went to castle town to say goodbye to people, we’d go greet Nobu too. Suddenly among the grass a man jumped out - an assassin. He aimed for me rather than Nobu but R’s kunai stopped him. R put the knife to the man's throat. The man answered he worked for Kennyo, the new plan was to kill me so that Nobu could have a taste of hell (they misunderstood I was Nobu’s lover)

R asked to meet Sasuke in the wood to ask Sasuke to help bring me back to the modern time safely.

I and R went on a trip to Kyoto to find Kennyo. We stayed at an inn. R lied on my lap while I gently stroked his hair. Then he wanted to pamper me to, he rained kisses to every corner of my body, that night I was loved so many times yay :3

Next day, R brought me to Honno-ji, he gave me my bag back and explained a wormhole would appear soon. I protested that I wanted to stay, but R said "Kennyo-sama would keep trying to assassinate you, if you died... if I lost you, I wouldn’t be able to bear it. When that assassin tried to kill you, it was as if my heart stopped beating. I promised to protect you right, I love you the most in the world, hence… we can’t live together.” Sasuke appeared, he’d go back with me but I asked for a bit more time alone with Ranmaru. We held hands tightly, he said: “Even if I can never see you nor touch you again … if you’re alive, that’s enough to make me happy… I love you... farewell …Y-sama, I love you, I love you so much. Even if we don’t meet again, I will only love you. Once this finishes, one day, I’ll definitely…” Unfortunately I got sucked into the wormhole before he could finish the sentence.

After I returned to modern time, I followed my designer dream just like my promise with R. My dream came true. It has been 1 year since that day, I looked up at the sky thinking that everything already changed, except the sky... someday I’d be able to meet R.

In Sengoku era, also one year from that day, R was taking a break from walking, he took out a page of my design sketch, just like countless times he did before. "I'll continue to fight against fate, Y-sama, I'll stop Kennyo-sama, and then ... I will meet you again, even cross through five hundred years of time, because I'm your idol." R smiled and gently kissed the sketch.
