hello! i’m planning to make a video essay on the problems with ENsekai. i obviously have some bigger ones already, (typos, translations, etc) but i was wondering if you or anyone else in the community had some ideas of smaller bugs/problems within the game that i could touch on!

Here's some stuff I can think of:

There's been multiple instances of area conversations being fucked up, either them implementing straight up untranslated content which happened quite recently with a niigo Len area conversation, or just leaving it blank altogether which happened with a conversation unlocked from the current event. usually this happens with niigo for some reason.

the ads straight up don't work on some devices. i had to get a new phone recently and they work fine on it now but my old one literally couldn't handle them. it broke the UI entirely and force crashed if i tried to watch two in a row.

For some reason they sometimes do the reruns late or early. It's not really much of an issue (aside from when they reran Evillious like 3 months early), it's just a weird oddity. Like the spojoy rerun should've started a week ago and it still isn't here

The May mystery song. Got pushed back to June, pretty sure they put a tweet out about the delay but it's gone now if it did exist. Didn't release in June either with no word on it. July stream didn't even happen so god knows what's going on with it now

They keep having bugs that aren't present on JP. Falsely banning players, that thing the other day where it locked challenge lives. There's a lot more if you go through the backlog of issues.

Also they had to delay Awake Now due to "technical difficulties" when BFBY ran on EN. Not sure what those issues were.

For starters the halloween fanart contest was only open to players in america, canada and britain, despite being for the "global server', but also: they gave third place and promoted the account of someone who creates nsfw of the IP. Funnily enough, this was not against the rules. But, it's still a questionable decision, like this person was openly an nsfw account, and they're giving them promotion on the official twitter for an all ages game. Oh well, what can you do, they were fully within their rights on both sides.

Also p sure the cosplay contest is the only one to date that's actually been open for worldwide entries. South America keeps getting excluded.

Remember when the twitter mod made fun of the game's translations? Actually embarrassing tbh.

Heeeyy, I'm back with a new Helluva Boss opinion post thingy

Okay so, the Mammon episode- it was alright I guess? Tbh it didn't strike me as super awesome or anything, it's just kinda there?

Anyway, let's talk about it a little bit!

So I wanted to start off with Mammon himself, I'm gonna be honest I don't hate him but I don't like him either. I'll admit I do actually like his voice, I'm sure y'all might find it annoying but I dunno, I like his accent and the way he talks is kinda funny. His design tho? Eh, it could use some work.

For instance, his eyes are weird, like every time he was on screen my first thought was always: "Wow, he looks like Robin from TTG". I also hate how he's shaped like your typical "fat" character from cartoons. But for some reason they decided to give him skinny arms but a round body. He's weirdly disproportionate, which is disappointing because they definitely could make a better plus sized character design. But oh well, knowing Viv, she wouldn't even try.

I will admit his true demon form is kinda cool, except that I actually thought he was going to be a caterpillar or something but he's a spider? I swear, Viv has some weird design choices.

Moving on, the episode was cluttered as hell. It had way too much stuff in it, which made the episode feel eternal. Not only that but the episode has 4 songs.. FOUR FUCKING SONGS- When will Viv realize that not every HB episode needs a song? Like is this shit an animated series or a fucking musical? Make up your mind Viv-

Anyway, I'm glad this episode focuses on Fizz, but his character did feel a bit off in certain scenes, but aside from that everything else was fine. (I found that scene of Fizz talking to the deaf imp child while using sign language to be very endearing).

Alright, I'mma point out a few other things real quick:

Ozzie's relationship with Fizz is absolutely adorable and I love them so much. However I don't understand why they portray their relationship as a bad thing? Like, fucking Queen Bee is dating Vortex (who's a hellhound, and they are a lower class than imps) and nobody says anything and she's a sin- so why can't Ozzie do the same??

I also happen to noticed that Fizz and Mammon's relationship is similar to Angel Dust and Valentino's- I just hope they don't completely butcher my boy Fizz, because he's the ONLY character I genuinely like from this god awful series.

Edit: I find it outrageous that Fizz apologized to Blitzo in the previous episode for the accident and claims that yes, he was affected by it but he's gotten over it. Yet here, he's super insecure about it and seeks approval from Mammon. It doesn't make sense- I swear it's like the characters are evolving backwards (as in the character development just resets and they act like nothing happened).

I also just wanted to say that this character made me feel super uncomfortable throughout the episode (which I guess is the point, but honestly they didn't need to add him.) Like, was it really necessary to include this Reddit mod, Discord user incel with an obsessive personality to the episode? He doesn't really contribute much other than to probably trigger people who have dealt with some form of harassment like this, and to make Fizz look super helpless so that Blitzo can defend him.

Blitzo didn't contribute anything to the episode, they didn't need to add him either. Like we get it he's the main character but that doesn't mean he has to be in every fucking episode doing absolutely nothing other than saying a bunch of curse words or shooting someone.

In conclusion, I didn't like this episode that much. I was expecting more to be completely honest.

It seems that here this guy has some sort of relationship to XF-Future Tech, which if you’ve seen Min’s side story, you’d know is the company that came into her life and groomed her to be the Ultimate Student. She received special tutoring for them and worked her ass off for that title her entire life because of that. Next, this guy shares the same tie pin she does, and it’s also very notable that she dresses up with the same button down and tie in her MV. Not only do I think she is linked to the company now, but she might be working there before she was in the game. Who knows, though.

Next, I have not seen anything on the fourth girl besides a bunch of people on discord theorizing what the dandelion in her hair could mean. Unfortunately dandelions have different meanings from different cultures all over the world, so until it’s specified about where she’s from, I don’t think there’s many assumptions we can make yet.

Number Five, the purple guy.

Everyone seems to think so far that this is Elliot Cuevas, Charles Cuevas’s deceased brother. Now let me tell you that although I can’t see it based off design, the way he looks (playful and kinda weird but happy) and the way he was described by the creator in the latest qna (a popular joyous dude), can definitely make me see this being real. The only thing that is super far fetched about this is that we know he died a long time ago, and so if this is a prequel, it would have to be at least 15 years before drdt even starts.

Here’s also some more evidence from @sunlit-haru supporting the ‘that’s Elliot’ theory.

Now we’re up to the protagonist, who mind you is definitely my favorite so far. I will eliminate the rest of you protag dickriders so I will be the only simp left.

Uh oh. I think we’ve figured out who this mysterious teacher might be. As for who is talking to them, I’ve personally got a few ideas, but they are not backed with any evidence.

1. The mastermind from this first killing game

2. Mai Akasaki or David Chiem still

3. The mastermind of the drdt killing game

Whoever it is, I think that these games are surely related and that each current kg participant does have a relation with one of these cast members. And that previous killing game’s end is why this one is happening.

Then, based off the post up top and a few others, people seem to think this is Teruko’s brother. I’m going to give a wild theory (no evidence) that Mai Akasaki knows him, only bc of the red in his hair. Then I think Mai would’ve found Teruko, and she would’ve been trying to reconnect them. Just a theory, though. There’s no evidence based around that this guy might be Teruko’s brother though, sadly.

Anyways, it seems that this guy ended up being a teacher at HPA, before or after the killing game. But I think this was very worth mentioning.

Unfortunately I’ve seen nothing about the next two, but I want to say that the girl in all pink (#8) I think is Felicity Giles, if that’s even possible. I just feel that’s Arturo’s sister. I know, I’m a weirdo. Even if #7 looks more like Arturo, I just cannot see it.

Moving on, nine and ten! If you look at them closely they’ve got the same eye pattern, suggesting they’re siblings, or likely twins, since they’ve got the fire/ice scheme going on.

Lastly, eleven which oh my god, Arturo’s dream girl! But she’s been theorized to be Whit’s mom. Here’s the post that argues a pretty convincing reason of why.

Oh boy. That woman is pretty cool and is very elegant, and has the same shade of blond hair that Whit dyed his too. I don’t think she’s any coincidence.

But joining along on that last little paragraph of this person’s post, it’s starting to seem a lot of characters do have connections to this cast and are seemingly mentioned quite a few times.

Oh my god, he got so lazy with his, that he just drew the jack-o-lantern smile on there with a sharpie.

Or if he got really lazy, he just did a normal smiley with two dots for the eyes and a long curved line for the smile lmao.

But if he actually tried---that is, with enough scolding from Reiji to actually participate in a family activity, he actually wouldn't do too bad.

He'd go with a classic Halloween symbol, the most basic thing anyone could recognize because he's not that creative.

And you can best bet he'd go with the classic vampire bat.

Is in charge of checking everyone's designs and that they look presentable, or at least appropriate.

But then, we have Laito who likes to take things out of bounds when it comes to designs, but we’ll get to that in a sec.

Tells his brothers that their pumpkins must look presentable and that they need to be better than the Mukamis.

So then, of course, Shu had to play around and ask him, especially since he knows Laito’s carving something explicit.

“So, are we going to display Laito’s too?”

“Yes, of course, we will." Reiji would respond. "Why would we not?”

“I mean, don’t you think it would send quite a message?” Shu would add.

“What in the world are you talking about?” Reiji would ask.

“See for yourself, Michelangelo’s got quite the masterpiece going on over there.” Shu would say.

Reiji would quickly approach Laito, demanding, “Laito, show me your pumpkin carving, at once!”

“Oh, but I wanted it to be a surprise.” Laito would say.

“Turn it around, now.” Reiji would insist.

“Okay, but don’t blame me for ruining the surprise.” Laito would say, turning it around to reveal the following design:

“WHAT. IS. THAT?!” Reiji would say.

“What? You don’t recognize it?” Laito would say. “You surprise me, Reiji. I thought you’d seen it before.”

“I know what it is! I’m asking you why!” Reiji would retort.

 “But you said we could carve anything.”

“Yes, but there are limits!” Reiji justified. “This cannot be displayed in front of the Sakamaki Manor! What will people make of us?! Have you no shame?! I’m throwing this away. Give me this—this is unacceptable!”

“No! No! What are you doing?! You can’t throw it away—all my hard work!” Laito would beg.

“This is not acceptable! You call this art? This is- This is—”

“I don’t see how it’s so bad . . . We can just use it a little differently.” Shu would chime in.

“How so?” Reiji would send a look towards him.

“We can just lay another pumpkin in front of it and point its stem towards it.” The blonde vampire would suggest.

Reiji’s blood would boil. “That is worse!”

“Heh, take it or leave it.” He’d smugly comment.

Anyways, Reiji is pretty skilled with carving, mostly because he likes to practice.

As for design, it kinda just varies on how busy he is. If he's too busy that year, he'll go with something simple.

But if he isn't, he'll try something a little more elaborte.

He usually sticks with classic Halloween symbols though.

If he did a simple design, it would be something like this:

Or, if he really wants to push himself to do a more complicated design---and if he has time as mentioned---he'd attempt something like this:

🎃 Laito 🎃

Laito actually likes to carve, he finds it relaxing and fun tbh.

But his ideas when it comes to design are quite out of the ordinary.

Tries to carve obscene designs onto his pumpkin.

Would even go as far as to carve a v*gina or boobs on his pumpkin.

Or even use Yui to model certain assets of herself for him so he can carve them.

And if it wasn't body parts that he'd try to carve, he'd probably try carving the silhouette of a naked woman.

One time, he made the pumpkin look like a certain body part, and used a pair of panties that were left behind by some girl he once knew.

And when he got tired of that design, he re-invented it to look even more explicit. I think the picture below is pretty self-explanatory.

🎃 Kanato 🎃

Is pretty quiet and very focused when he carves.

Like, no interruptions---and he insists on it.

But damn, if someone does interrupt him and by any chance makes him mess up the design, he's got zero chill.

Like, carving knives might fly.

Don’t touch his pumpkin.

And he knows if it's been touched and even if there's a tiny scratch on it.

Even if a hair landed on it, he knows.

He will be so pissed if there is a scratch too and will literally call anyone out.

His designs are pretty detailed, but not to an excessive degree.

Likes to stick to the classical design of the pumpkin displaying a face, but likes to add softer touches whilst still keeping it creepy.

For some years, he's even carved Teddy's figure.

His pumpkin would look something like this:

🎃 Ayato 🎃

Tries to make his pumpkin look the scariest out of everyone else's.

He keeps f-ing up the design, so he keeps turning the pumpkin on different sides to start over.

And he ended up carving a face at the top of the pumpkin because all the sides were taken up by him ruining them.

In the end tho, his pumpkin ends up looking something like this:

Ayato also likes to create scenes with his masterpieces pumpkins, so he carves multiple in order to do this.

And they usually end up looking quite hilarious.

🎃 Subaru 🎃

Thinks that pumpkin carving is stupid, but with Ayato and Laito bothering him about it enough, it gets him to do it.

He's actually quite skilled with a carving knife, it's kinda like a hidden talent of his.

He'll carve classic Halloween designs or even a coffin.

If he's carving with Ayato and Laito at the table, things can get a little hectic.

They're constantly trying to spy on his work and figure out what he's going to, or at least trying to carve.

Geez, just let the guy be.

And of course, with Laito being Laito, he just has to annoy our poor baby car.

"Oh, so are you going to carve that girl you like?"

"Fuck off!" Subaru would retort.

And if that wasn't bad enough, if they say something stupid that pisses Subaru off, their pumpkins are getting smashed.

His pumpkin would kinda be along these lines:

He hates being complimented on his work. It causes him to get flustered and annoyed.

"Oh! Good work, Subaru." Laito would comment. "I bet you were thinking of that girl the entire time."

Even though he was irked, this time Subaru decided to try a different approach instead of lashing out instantly. "Laito, let me see your pumpkin."

"Oh, of course." Laito would say, turning his around. "Here it is. It took me so long to-,"

And before he could finish, Subaru put his fist through it, further ruining the design and all of Laito's hard work.

"No! No! What have you done!?" Laito would wail.

"Heh, that'll teach ya." Subaru would smugly say.

I'm telling you, don't fuck with him.

🎃 Yui 🎃

Yui leans more on the cutesy side of things when she's carving.

She'd never carve the classical jack-o-lantern face on her pumpkin since she deems it scary. She could never.

So, she just sticks to a more friendly face to carve onto there.

Ayato constantly makes fun of her for it.

Laito once commented that her pumpkin looked 'virgin' and that he'd be glad to 'change' that.

as for the au, i’ll definitely be writing it as a fic just bc it’s taking over my brain as of right now and i wanna put it down somewhere (and knowing me will likely knock out several chapters before the end of next week haha) so you’ll definitely be seeing more of it ! i haven’t mapped out all the plot points and events and characterisation just yet but i’ll get there eventually. i’ll be keeping the events more or less the same just in a slightly more controlled way so it’s not super dystopian but the major things that happen like the human crew, the town fire, drake losing his arm, sam getting whipped, yadda yadda yadda will be there but in a more regular high school way i suppose haha so stay tuned because i will probably be posting stuff here occasionally !

A Good Enough Reason to Keep Meeting Up (1,055 kudos) is part of Stray Gods series where the supernaturals are all real and Abilities came from them. This specific fic is about Chuuya and Atsushi's budding relationship. Or rather Chuuya's budding crush on Atsushi with malnourishment and chronic pain as the vessel to get there.

Money Makes the World Go Round (939 kudos) BSDxOuran crossover that is part of a collection of crossover fics about Atsushi attending high schools from different fandoms in order to attain the qualifications to enjoy the employment benefits his workplace has to offer. You can tell I'm old when that's my worldbuilding for writing high school AU

Moral Compass (923 kudos) the first installment of the Stray Gods series set post Dead Apple where unlocking his repressed memories about Shibusawa let the actual god Byakko to finally communicate with his Champion.

I was a bit disappointed at first that my most kudos'd fic hasn't broken 2k kudos yet but seeing how my top 5 fics don't have a huge disparity between the amount of kudos makes me happy

oh that's hard. i have a lot of oneshots that are basically "and so, the cycle of suffering repeats yet again" and you'd think it would be the servampxbnha crossover where despite mahiru's best attempt to help deku get into UA even without a quirk so he will let go of his self-hatred for being born quirkless, in the end he receives One For All from All Might, undoing all the works mahiru-sensei has done to help deku but NO it's a bsd fic again that embodies this concept in the worst way possible as it's revealed that the event that happened in canon timeline was kickstarted by post-beast!atsushi who copes for his feelings for beast!dazai (both affection and hatred) by writing numerous worlds into existence to prove that dazai is a good man all along

wait. no. actually. the persona 5 fic where the phantom thieves deal with goro's sacrifice might be angstier considering this line

this is the question that actually made me want to do this interview. SO. be kiddie yarra during ff.net era. i was writing persona 4 fic where naoto says goodbye to souji. it was romantic. someone left a comment on my fic saying my writing got stolen and linked me to a naruto fic which made me go??? huh??? and turns out it was Word By Word the same fic but with souji being replaced as naruto, naoto as hinata, and the train station into konoha gate. it was insane.

not on AO3 i think?? someone DID contact me to ask for my permission to translate my fic to russian but i don't remember the details

my bsd x ouran fic has been complimented as staying true to the characters even though im throwing ouran into a serious series like bsd and vice versa so i like to think it's my ability to keep the core of the characters true even when putting them in a different AU unrelated to canon. also writing convoluted political struggles that makes sense.

Also, rereading back JuAli's scenes together in the Kou Empire, it's really so funny how empty Judar's threats and insults towards Alibaba are.

Sure, he tried to kill him before.

He'll get all hissy like a fussy moody cat towards him. But it's not out of genuine hatred.

JuAli are true opposites in terms of their personalities, morals/ideals/world views...

In JuAli's chapters together, I think it's sexy how Judar expressed his frustrations with Alibaba's character, basically, what he perceived as Alibaba's naivety.

Like, Judar is clearly frustrated by Alibaba's whole deal, being unable to understand Alibaba or really get what's going on with him (despite Alibaba being really straightforward as a person)

Especially when he has such a childish personality and black and white morals and worldview of boxing people into Strong vs. Weak.

It's like... At that moment, he (Judar) is not ready to face that.

Alibaba is someone that he clearly sees and perceives as "weak and naive" but also challenges his world views, cuz he just... does not get Alibaba's humble nature, at all.

In the sense of being frustrated by someone's bright (dazzling) radiance.

He understands and recognizes that Alibaba draws others to him, but just can't seem to understand why. It frustrates him how he doesn't get it. And that in itself shows a form of inner curiosity, a desire to know more.

I wanted to convey that feeling in my own dialogue scripts.

Judar's insults… They don't hold true weight.

Like the insults he throws are so empty.

It's so funny like he (Judar) says it with his whole chest.

Recently revamped a JuAli dialogue script idea I had. Judar and Alibaba kiss with banter ❤️ 💛 I added more to it. I last updated it in December, so I might as well post it again since I added some new lines.

It's just them kissing but just gonna put a warning cuz it's kinda suggestive/sexually implicit though.

Yeah I think my moots know why I mainly post rambles on Insta and Tumblr, it's cuz I usually do long rambles for character thoughts + analysis, and Twitter's character limit is super annoying for that. I tend to post discussions cuz my friends have insightful things to say (and I feel like it flows more naturally in convo format than just to summarize what they said)

I need to talk more about my Magi faves on here (I miss them) because I had many thoughts while reading, so I just roughly drafted ideas right now. I need to write my character/ship ideas down before I forget.

Me: I actually originally wrote Judar's last line as "Show me the kind of spark that charmed Hakuryuu so much." Because Judar makes a note in Ch. 266 that Hakuryuu is charmed by Alibaba in the fan-TL :) And also the official EN TL by Viz. They still keep it (whews) but remove the 1st mention of it, "What about Alibaba charmed Hakuryuu…"

But I don't tend to reference other ships in my ship stuff since I usually focus on ships solo. Like in my AU stuff, I tend to focus on just the ship/characters itself. Like I would rather deal with my multiships in their own separate AUs, since it’s easier for me to work with. I do love AliHaku though. But I liked that line so I still tried to include it though. NGNGNNG.

JuAli's "Love-Hate" relationship is soooo interesting to me <33 They're so sen-core.

Obviously they're more complicated than that but "Love-Hate" is just to simplify it

They're Enemies to Lovers too, but very different from LimGuda (Douman/Ritsuka) obviously. But they share most of the Sen-core ship tropes I love. I think JuAli has HoroRen (SK) kinda~ish vibes.

Like y'know. Yin/Yang. Light/Darkness. Protagonist/Antagonist. Angel/Devil. Enemies to Lovers. And then JuAli also has Fire/Ice going on with them. Sen-core meow meow mf/ship strikes again. I really adore JuAli and AliHaku, heehee. It's very typical Sen-ship trope core with their Sun/Moon/Eclipse symbolism going on.

My most favourite ships are usually Opposites Attract (the good kind). There are bad Opposites Attract ships out there obviously (charas who just bicker and literally nothing else). I'm just built different though. JuAli and HoroRen just fall into my kind of rather rough and violent end of Opposites Attract ships. Twink on twink violence is their love language /lh

I love Opposites Attract ships that are also combined with any of these tropes: Narrative parallelism (Yin/Yang, Light/Darkness, Sun/Moon tropes), Protagonist x Rival/Antagonist/Opposing Figure, Apoptosis, Reconciliation of Opposites, Fated Enemies/Rivals, etc.

JuAli rambles continued

Me: For JuAli, I feel like at first, Judar hates Alibaba with so much love. Like when you hate someone so much it’s love. And Judar would just constantly be like "I really don't get this guy at all" and "I don't understand what he's thinking at all!"

Tsundere catboy badboy is verbally harsh (violently tsun) and demands around verbally a LOT, like a needy cat that wants attention and affection.

I feel like in the early stages of them catching feelies they’d both be really awkward around each other and constantly headbutt each other… They'd always be pretty competitive with each other, like “Casual sex implies the existence of ranked competitive sex” vibes (LMAO) but they'd warm up to each other over time.

I'm busy so Idk when I'll sketch this all out but it was based off this idea I had in my head.

Re: My Writing Ideas

Me: I don't really post my writing ideas on main cuz my dialogue scripts are more like guidelines for me to practice writing dialogue for comics, and also to help me remember my art ideas. I write down my ideas so that I don't forget them (cuz they come to me spontaneously during the day), and also so that I can hopefully turn them into comics one day 🙏

My mutuals/friends can read them though! I post them because I'm not sure when I'll get the chance to turn my ideas into art form, and because I think the dialogue scripts are interesting to read.

Also me doing this still technically counts as a form of art. Even if they're written almost like play format, it's still a form of creative writing

I've definitely gotten sm better at it like I've been refining the way I write Idate's dialogue (and other WATGBS AU charas) over time

Because when I write these scenario ideas down, I think in terms of visuals. When the ideas come to my head, I imagine and see them all visually in my head. I'm a much more visual person, so I see things through visuals, and then try to turn them into words.

I think I first started critically engaging with and analyzing media at 18 (which is a good thing, because art is a form of expression and social commentary). I think I only really got good at doing media analysis at 18+ and it refined even more at 19 - 21+

It used to be so hard for me to put my thoughts into words, but I got much better at it through practice (by doing all the thought rambles)

But I'm literally so much better at analytical writing (ie. Series and character analysis, meta) than creative writing (ie. Novel and fanfic writing), so that's why I only do dialogue scripts. It'd be interesting to try and take up fanfic writing in the future though... But it definitely won't be soon, so I'll stick to my main creative form (drawing) for now
