Horses. I really like that other movie that Hobie's voice actor was in.

IDK why I ended up putting so much effort into the rendering this was just supposed to be a shitpost.

Hobie's pose is heavily referenced from a shot from the movie Nope (2022). The background texture is also from the same frame.

Miguel is cast as the stressed-out, half-Latino, tech guy with an angel name who watches camera feeds all day and bitches about his life to people he just met.

everyone dunked on Logan Paul’s twitter thread about Nope but i just want to add that one thing that particularly gets me is calling Kaluuya’s performance “mundane and vanilla” because- well, for one, imagine being at that level of toddler brain, where you think a character being quiet and standoffish is boring- but also because he’s a cowboy!!! Kaluuya is doing the quiet gruff character you see all the time in old cowboy movies!!! Nope is a sci-fi horror but it’s also unironically a modern-day western movie!!!!!!

The best part of Nope was OJ's dedication to his horses. There was nothing heroic about him staying at the house or going back after Jean Jacket hovered over the property to intimidate them. He was simply a man who "had mouths to feed" and "work to do." He was a cowboy who loved his horses enough to risk his own life in order to take care of them.

yeah the social commentary and underlying themes were great but what really made me love NOPE was the chaotic lesbian, her quietly hilarious brother, the scrunkly little customer service worker they adopted, and the eldritch horror that followed them home like a stray cat
