and man i forget how much i loved the baratie arc especially seeing how luffy and sanji first interact... "i refuse your refusal!" is so good and while bickering like an old married couple, they both yell at gin simultaneously i love them so much

the nina chimera thing is practically a meme by now and honestly i remembered not being particularly affected by it in mangahood. imagine my shock when fma 03 manages to make it a billion times more harrowing, simply by giving nina more screentime + letting ed slowly investigate and make his own conclusions re shou + nina being reduced to a splatter on the wall by a traumatized scar, leading to ed desperately trying to transmute her back and his hands being covered in her gore. and then roy comes in and essentially tells him, in the worst way possible, you are a child and this is nothing compared to what you will be asked to do as a dog of the military. you have sold your soul.

My favorite head-canon, is that Merlin spends so much time healing and taking care of Arthur, that he forgets to do it for himself.

Arthur, a seasoned warrior, somehow has very few scars on his body. A few scuff marks on his knees and a few marks on the side of his neck, maybe a few knife nicks along his arms from training. But other than that, nothing. It's almost inhuman how this knight who lives on the battlefield has such a lack of scars.

Merlin, on the other hand, is covered in them. Burn marks covering the tips of his fingers, deep jagged cuts that dug into his back and arms. Scraps and cuts cover his legs and arms, and a small patch of discoloration on his forehead that never quite heald right. He goes to great lengths to keep these hidden. It wouldn't make sense for a meek servant to have so many brutal scars. He covers his body even during the hot months with long sleeve shirts and thick scarves so no one will ask any questions.

The reason behind this is that Merlin will always meticulously heal any injuries Arthur faces. Always being thorough so they won't scar over. He knows the way scars ache during the cold or thunderstorms, the way the pain seems to seep into your bones. He doesn't want Arthur to suffer through that. But when he gets injured, he does just enough to stop the bleeding. He lives with a physician. Why would he do more than that? He'll get them looked at eventually... (he never does).

Point is, Merlin does the bare minimum to keep himself alive while he goes the extra mile for Arthur to keep him comfortable.

Yeah, I'm alright. More angry than anything. Regardless of if it's a troll or not that's a fucked up thing to say. If it is genuine I'd put money on them being a victim-blamer. You'd have to be to think something like that.

Rotating Alva being soft to Andrew when he essentially meets them for the first time while they're broken and sick

Because he knows just how much Luca cares about them and he can start to see the marks of abuse that they must have faced when he looks closely.

Alva asks if he's alright to touch Andrew, who (despite being confused as to why he'd even ask [why do you need my approval? It's not like I can do anything about it]) agrees quickly.

And Alva just leans over them and checks their pulse and their temperature with his [oh so gentle] hands. The way the touch comforts Andrew as he leans into it is certainly not missed.

So Alva just starts running his fingers through their hair, unknotting the tangles like he does with Luca because Andrew clearly needs the comfort of that. His hair is matted in a similar way to Luca's anyway, so Alva knows how to do it without pulling too painfully.

Maybe they keep up a conversation during this, which slowly melts into Alva saying comforting words to Andrew as he just lays quietly in Alva's hands because he hasn't had anything like this since his mother was alive and he just feels so safe all of a sudden.

Mr Lorenz doesn't seem to mind Andrew's reverent silence much. Luca and Emil talk too, although Andrew doesn't really focus on what they're saying. He doesn't mean to ignore everything else around him, but it feels so nice to let himself rest in this moment of happiness for just a little longer...

(Alva had already been finished for a while by the time Andrew was lulled to sleep, but they wanted to make sure Andrew didn't feel sad or lonely when they pulled their hands away. They decide to stay for a while. Make sure Luca also gets some rest, along with his other friend who's starting to tug on their heartstrings too...)
