A lot of the WotR depended on military victories, tbh. We tend to get distracted by fancy discussions like "Who had the best claim?"* or Propaganda Roulette 101, but the fact remains that it was ultimately military victories that sealed the deal and got rid of opposition**. Everything else was pretty wrapping on top of the already-won or to-be-won prize.

*The most useless debate of all **The exception was Richard III's usurpation but that was a fairly unconventional and entirely unexpected usurpation, and in any case it was a military defeat that ended his reign.

i love how the show made sure 1) to show us that for once boston was extremely reluctant to make sexual advances on someone and atom absolutely did all the work, and then also blamed boston for not wanting to see him again, despite the clearly established boundaries; and 2) to explicitly frame the fact that boston as a gay man (particularly a promiscuous gay man) is seen as predatory by having chueam verbally frame the situation as the classic deeply homophobic "homosexual preying on the young and inexperienced and turning them to the "homosexual lifestyle"" idea (reflected in anything from 1961's "boys beware" short to the current "protect children from drag queens" moral panic), and y'all are STILL somehow saying that boston is at fault here, just because he is a shitty friend and a selfish person. like i'm sorry, but a leap from these honestly regular human traits to literal blackmail and sexual assault is not as obvious and easy as some of you seem to think.

tells him off, which is not the best choice considering how reigen died lol. but i feel dimple has a different view on the permanence of death considering he's currently experiencing a pretty rich afterlife. i think he's kind of determined to make sure reigen experiences the pros of being a spirit over the cons

dimple teaching reigen how to change his spirit form bc reigen gets pretty stressed out at the idea of anyone other than serizawa and dimple seeing him with his Many Arms

i think dimple also has the easiest time interpreting reigen's aura, both bc i have some HeadcanonsTM on how dimple died but also mainly bc i think there's a sort of innate connection between two spirits. anyway, fluff bc i like the idea of them curling up w each other in blob form like cats

As often happens, my work team meeting overran today and my carer was making sure that I and everyone else in the room knew she was very upset about it (think repeated asking when we were leaving, sighing and tutting loudly that kind of thing)

I was just completely ignoring how passive aggressive and rude she was being and stayed behind, like I always do, to chat with colleagues, completely ignoring my carer seething in the corner. I made sure today that I was among the last to leave just to hammer the point home that I wasn’t going to be manipulated like that and also because I’d rather be around my colleagues who I like than this carer who I don’t.

I think it’s backfired slightly and she’s now even more pissed at me than she was at work, and letting me know about it, but I’m just ignoring that too.

It’s a very messy and pretty toxic situation but I have been bullied so much by various carers and I’m adamant that I’m not going to let her stop me living my life or making myself smaller

Hopefully I won’t be working with her for much longer.

so... i just got off work, and can see i've missed a few things.

gonna spend the rest of my waking hours getting caught up, but just want to say a few things.

one, thank you to all the love and support. publicly and privately. it's seen and appreciated, even if i don't individually respond.

two, i hope going forward, we all carry the lesson learned from what's been happening in the fandom. i wasn't the only one who has received nasty reactions or felt exclusion to any degree, and that's really important to remember. i'm privileged to have any sort of platform to any degree on this hellsite, and i can guarantee you anything that's thrown at an account with reach like my own (no matter if sometimes i misconceive just how far that reach can be, given i didn't expect the response garnered), can be thrown just as easily if not ten times worse at smaller creators/those whose voices are getting lost in it all. i'm also privileged that thus far in my online presence, my queer experience has been entirely different from my actual life, and that's largely due to having my shit figured out, and for being a white cis woman who can wholeheartedly say she identifies as bisexual.

fandom spaces have always experienced these issues. they don't get better unless we speak up, and especially unless we listen.

uplift each other. be kind to each other. life is hard enough without this kind of stuff - if we want to see a better online space to feel safe in, we've gotta make it. there'll always be people like that anon. it's sad and shitty, but it's the human experience. the way to change it? keep the energy i saw today.

it's not just a today thing, and it's not just a "it happened to ghost so it matters" thing. it always happens, and it always matters.

craziest thing is this is so fucking true. in specifically george’s second response he stands by the fact that he did not assault her HOWEVER he extends empathy and genuine remorse that he inadvertently made her uncomfortable. he is one of the only people who can grasp that making her uncomfortable does not mean sa but also isn’t something he shouldn’t say sorry for. he was very respectful and that respect and kindness was repeatedly thrown back in his face

I’m so curious about your way of communicating your DID. I heavily relate and have PTSD too but that’s what’s most surprising because I haven’t seen or heard anyone talk about plurality like you have which i feel is a lot closer to my experience with it… please continue posting about it… the resources and experiences I’ve read have been disorientating. Have you heard of “Dissociation Made Simple” by Jamie Marich?

the way i talk about my DID is sort of directly influenced by how much jargon and mysticism there is in the community that makes it feel totally impenetrable and incomprehensible to outsiders. im not about that. i want to be understood. so i keep my language accessible and prefer using common terms to DID-specific jargon. its just a personal choice and im glad it sits well with certain people
