Last month, Baltimore pop-punkers All Time Low took to the road with Sugarcult for a series of shows on the West Coast. Here's some of what they saw, in words and pictures. Learn more at www.alltimelow.com.

#1------------------------------------------------------------ Ooohooo So last night we celebrated two awesome occasions...well 3 since matt's molars finally grew in...anyways yesterday was Haloween and our first night of our tour with Sugarcult. I must say, it is pretty strange touring with a band who I spent the better years of my middle school life watching on MTV. Regardless of where this band has been, it definetly didn't eff with their personalities. They were all super nice to us and each came up and introduced themselves. The show went pretty well but it wasn't a good judgement of our the whole tour is going to be because Sugarcult didn't even headline, the Eagles Of Death Metal did, and the tickets for $25 on Haloween night :) I'm sorry but I would never go to a show if those were the circumstances...I'd be out expanding my collection of holiday treats. Tonight the 'real' tour begins so we will see how it goes. We are playing Washington State University in Pullman Washington. We haven't done too many college shows, so this should be interesting...anyways before we got on the road a couple days ago we were couped up in Ben Harper's (formely of yellowcard, now in amber pacific) house/studio in long beach, CA working on our new CD :). We demoed some hot licks that were going to send over to our producer matt squire so that he can put in some input. I heard my blogs are going to be posted on the Alternative Press website for this tour, so if that's the case then...helll yeah! Well I just woke up from sleeping in the van so I am gonna walk out into the freezing streets of Pullman, WA crack my back and grab some Qudoba. Much Love, Jack --jbstar #2------------------------------------------------------------ Yoo dooodds, So I'm gonna update you guys on the passed couple shows...on Wednsday we played Washington State University. Those kids are freaking crazy! Everyone seemed to be having a good time and we made some awesome new friends. I cannot stress enough, how cool the Sugarcult guys are. Which is really cool because I have been listening to those guys since 6th grade! Anyways before we played, matt thought it would be a good idea to have a fork and knife fight backstage...yeah it turned pretty ugly and we should have some footage online soon enough. That night we partied at 'The Christmas House'. Lets just say that I'm pretty sure alex made out with a dog...I really miss Hit The Lights :( Anways...we played Seattle after the college show and it was offf the hoooook. Everyone in the room was dancing and it got pretty redic. As soon as we told them the alex/dog story they went nuts. We met up with the Pink Spiders that night. We were nervous about that because we've heard some stuff...but for real those guys are the shit. There all super nice and we have no complaints about them. We have yet to tour with a band who we don't get along with (fingers crossed). We also heard that we may be doing a few shows with Cobra Starship in Dec, if that happends that would be sick. I'll keep you guys updated. Someone made us a bucket of the craziest donuts ive ever seen at the portland show last night!! They were reallly good. The crowd was as wild as usual and a bunch of kids were singing along. A lot of the same kids who saw us there on the Amber Pacific tour came back. Its always cool to see so many familiar faces,,,cough cough hint hint nudge...you get the idea folks! The next couple shows should be interesting...reno and vegas. I wont be able to gamble but at least ill be able to look at a lot of lights. We all have family comming out, so that should be exciting. I havent seen my brother and sister in ages and i know their gonna be wasted so that means they will be even more friendly :) Also Meg n Dia join up in vegas which is sick, SO SIKED FOR THAT!!! We met them on warped and their super nice. anyways i think its time, i go to In and Out because after this tour im not going to be able to go back for a while :( im going to eat there everyday twice a day until we leave Arizona. First of all we showed up in Reno (shity city) only to find that only sugarcults crew was there and the show probably wasnt going on. We were welcomed by a hooker in a pink tanktop and no teeth asking if we had any shirts we could give her...Thankfully we have power windows and middle fingers. Thankfully zack was asleep or he might have took her up on some of her offers...he's getting desperate you know..just kidding! Anyways we decided to hang out with sugarcults crew for a little then start the drive to vegas early since it was 8 house. We got to go over the Hoover Damn which was sweet. It's seriously Vegas Vacation all over again! Anyways, we got to vegas around midnight and it was a fantastic site! My bro and sis were staying at the MGM so thats where i headed. Rian to the Excalibur, Alex and Matt to the Venecian and Zack to the Luxor. We all split up and hung out with our fam for the evening. My brother took me around vegas and boyyy was it interesting. I was approached by numerous drunk people. It was basically like an Ocean City, Maryland for older people. It's just a place for adults to drink, walk around drunk, act like teenagers and maybe gamble a bit here n' there. it was Akward to say the least. Anyways the next day was the show at the House Of Blues at Mandalay Bay...probably one of the nicest venues we have ever played. We introduced ourselves to the Meg n Dia folks and got to know our new tour mates as we shared a dressing room. We soon found they are awesome people and they share a love for getting wild! The show was pretty cool, and the crowd was big. It was weird though because the merch was not in the venue, it was in the cassino haha. Anyways Vegas was an experience we wont forget, and I cant wait till we go there again. I hope the next time we go, were 21...actually nevermind because that would be three years :)stay rad, Jack #5------------------------------------------------------------ Lame! Tonight was our last show on the Sugarcult Tour featuring The Pink Spiders and Meg n Dia :( Damone will be taking our place on this great lineup. I am jelous that they get to join up! Anyways we made some lifetime friends on this tour and it was a great experience for everyone. Every single show was amazing and the fans never let us down. Traveling to bumfuck arizona and hearing a couple hundred kids sing your song is the coolest feeling ever. Sugarcult was very warming towards us and their personalities suprised the shit out of me. they were such cool guys and even when zack was sick they made him soup and gave him Emergen-C. WHO DOES THAT !?!? Thats like something my mom does...so in a way Sugarcult are our parents. They actually reffered to us as their younger brothers on stage. At the last show of the tour in Little Rock, Arkansas us and Meg n Dia ran on stage during "Bouncing Off the Walls" and started bouncing around and took over Tim's Guitar n Mic, Marko's (my twin) guitar and Airens Bass. It was so fun to bro down with a band that ive been listening to since middle school haha. Alex also got to soundcheck with sugarcult at Texas AM College because tim was at the hospital taking care of his sickness (i think he had a nasty cold). It was so crazy to see alex soundcheck with a band who for the past few years have held a special spot on my ipod and in my cd player :) I attached a pic of him sound-checking for fun. At the end of the show we said our goodbyes and gave our hugs. This is'nt the end of these friendships though, only the beggining...now we head home to write a new cd. Catch us on the road in the northeast in december when we head out with Cobra Starship! Stay safe, Jack

Summary: TJ and Cyrus fall more in love with one another every day

It’s a cold winter morning when Cyrus wakes up in his bed, but he’s not alone. He wakes up next to a lanky body who has stolen most of the blankets. He looks over at his long face, with his messy blonde hair creeping into his eyes, and can’t help but fall a little deeper in love with him. The best thing about falling asleep next to the person you love is waking up to them, well at least that’s what Cyrus thinks. He loves when he wakes up first because he gets to look at him, he truly gets to look at him, and take in all of his beauty. He gets to look at his freckles on his nose, and the way his chest moves up and down when he breathes. He gets to look at his lips, and think ‘damn I’m so lucky to be the only one who gets to kiss those.’ And he gets to look at his eyelashes. The myth is making a wish when an eyelash falls out, but Cyrus makes a wish every time he’s next to TJ and his beautiful, lengthy eyelashes, and every time his wish comes true. As Cyrus is admiring his boyfriend, he sees that he is starting waking to up, and snuggles up to him just a little closer. When TJ fully opens his eyes, a bright smile appears on his lips, and he can’t help but think that this is what his life should be like forever. Shaking himself out of his thoughts, TJ takes Cyrus’s hands into his own and says “Goodmorning sunshine.” Something about TJ’s morning voice makes Cyrus weak, and he doesn’t quite know why. It might be because he’s a little bit more vulnerable, or just because he can’t get over how adorable he is.

“Good-morning, Teej.” Cyrus says softly, only loud enough for the other boy to hear “how’d you sleep?”

“With you next to me? I slept like a baby. I always do, that’s why I keep you around you know. So I’ll sleep well.” A grin appears on TJ’s face that then makes Cyrus smile

“Well is that the only reason you keep me around then?” He says this rather playfully.

“One of them. The other being I just love to spend time with you.” TJ begins to play with Cyrus’s fingers, one of his major weaknesses.

“We should probably get up and go to breakfast. You know how my mom gets when you sleepover.” They are both 17 but neither of their parents are too fond of the other spending the night, but they’ve been together for over 2 years so they let it slide, with the precaution of the door always being open.

The two boys make it downstairs and are greeted with the smell of pancakes, bacon, and freshly brewed coffee.

“Hey sweetheart, how’d you guys sleep?” Mrs. Kippen is always happy in the morning, it’s one of the reason why Cyrus loves her. She thinks a happy morning will make a happy day, that’s something all three of them can agree on.

“I slept good Mrs.Kippen, thank you for letting me stay over.” Cyrus says this with a genuine smile

“Cyrus, you’ve been dating TJ for over two years, how many times have I told you, you can call me Kara.” TJ gives Cyrus this look, one that says ‘don’t get on her bad side’ while taking a sip of his coffee.

“Well, KARA, thank you again.” Kara responds with a smile, picking up her purse, coffee, and keys.

“I’m heading to work, have fun guys! Don’t forget to clean the house!”

Most people hate it when they have to clean the house, but TJ and Cyrus love it. The reason they love it so much is that they can put on any type of music they want over their speakers, dance while not getting judged, and they get to spend time together. They usually end up cleaning for about an hour, then go out.

“So Mr.TJ what are your plans today for this lovely snowy January day.” Cyrus asks rather sarcastically.

“Well, I have a few tricks up my sleeve, so shush. Just go get your jacket and meet me in the car.” TJ drives a light blue 2012 Subaru Forester. It’s not the nicest car in the world, but it’s always clean, and takes him from place A to place B with no problems. TJ soon joins Cyrus in his car and automatically plugs his phone into the aux. He goes into his music and clicks a playlist that says ‘happy thoughts and Cyrus’. The playlist is filled with love songs and some of Cyrus’s favorite Disney hits. The first song that comes on the playlist is “She” by Jake Scott, a song that Cyrus actually introduced him to. The reason why Cyrus loves this song so much is because it’s everything he can’t put into words on how he feels about TJ.

As the last verse ends, Cyrus reaches out to grab TJs free hand which was resting on his thigh, as he grabs his hand and intertwines their fingers, Cyrus leaves a soft kiss on the top of his hand, looking him in the eye Cyrus says

“God, I’m so lucky to have you.” While he squeezes his hand just a little tighter. TJ looks over, with a slight blush on his face

“Don’t go soft on me now Cy, it’s only 12. We’ve got a whole day to be sappy.” Cyrus can see the joking impression on his face, while “Introducing Me” by Nick Jonas is starting to play from the speakers. At this very moment, while he and his boyfriend are singing to a Disney song, in a beat up Subaru, he doesn’t want to

Change a thing.

About 15 minutes later TJ pulls the care into a parking lot, one that Cyrus has never seen before. The building in front of them is brick, with few windows. The sign says ‘Roller World.’ Cyrus gives TJ a questionable facial expression then says

“TJ where the hell are we?”

A smile erupts on the taller boys face

“Well take my hand, and go inside with me and you’ll see.”

So the two boys go hand in hand into the brick building, and a smile appears on his face. They are at a roller skating rink that is supposed to be set in the 80’s. The carpet heading to the skate desk is a velvet green and the seats in the booths are a neon yellow. The two boys walk up to the skate rental and are greeted by a rather peppy girl. She has curly hair and is wearing a bright yellow shirt that says ‘ROLLER WORLD’ on it. The boys get their skates on and before Cyrus hesitantly says

“TJ I’m not good at rollering skating.”

“Either am I, so let’s make fools out of ourselves together.” So they got up, hand in hand, and headed to the actual skate rink. Tj stood I front of Cyrus was bike they were holding hands and went around the rink together. After the first time around Cyrus got more comfortable so he and TJ ended up racing each other throughout the rink, getting weird looks from 9 year old girls, and constantly falling from all the laughing. When the song ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ comes through the speakers TJ grabs Cyrus, and whispers in his ear, “I’m so glad to be here with you.”

After they finished skating, they went through the McDonald’s drive thru to get dinner, they spilt a 20 piece nugget, a large fry and got two chocolate milk shakes. TJ parked the car, and they ate in silence while watching the stars, and listening to soft the music play in the background. The best thing about their relationship is that they don’t always have to be talking, even just being in company of one another is enough for them.

After they finished eating TJ pulls into Cyrus’s driveway, silently wishing he didn’t have to leave.

“Welp, this me, thank you TJ, for such an incredible day.” Cyrus says this with a special sparkle in his eye, one he only gets around TJ.

“Cyrus, don’t thank me. I love making you happy. You

Might not know this but your smile is my most favourite thing in the world, and I would do anything to protect it.” With that Cyrus leans over in his seat, and puts his hand underneath the taller boys chin, staring at him like he is the most precious jewel in the world.

“God TJ you’re driving me crazy. In the most amazing way possible.” And with that TJ leans in and kisses him. He kisses him with passion, something that they often do, but this kiss was filled with ‘I love yous’ and nostalgia, this kiss with filled with want and need, this kiss was everything they’ve ever wanted. And after the two boys break out of the kiss, Cyrus says his goodbyes, filled with I love you, and goes into his house. But he doesn’t close the door until he looks back to see his boyfriend looking directly at him.

✨☀️ my heart & soul are so full.

This was truly the best experience of my life. Envision is something else. I danced and sweat out every negative energy that I had stored away before I came here. I feel like a new person..

🌊 I loved the whole vibe of the Uvita area. Everyone was so nice. I've missed the salty air in my hair and on my lips. Being surrounded by the jungle and the ocean is a euphoric feeling. 🐟 I ate a lot of good fish outside the festival and I am definitely missing it. I loved the fresh fruits and coconuts everywhere 🥥🌴🍍🍌🍓

🏕️ our air b&b was just a couple minutes away from the festival and our host Jose was the nicest human ever. He was constantly making sure everything was perfect for us and coming back to get sleep in the ac was prime. I'm very glad we did that. Cabinas yuriel 💛💚❤️☁️

🐳 we went on a whale watching tour and we're blessed to see a male and a mama and her baby playing around! Humpback whales are my flavorite animal and I haven't seen them since I was in Hawaii so it was an epic treat.

🌄Then Dan and I watched our last Costa Rican sunset for the trip and took a nice stroll home. On the way we saw a sloth in the tree, a crazy poisonous snake and a gnarly looking centipede. 🐍🌙

I have fallen in love with envision and everything it stands for and for the beautiful country of Costa Rica. I will be back there's no doubt about that. I want to explore everything. 🔥 the sunset and fire spinners on the beach with the drum circle. I had hoped to spin some fire down there but I'll be a little more prepared next time.. you walk up the path onto the beach and you are met with various vendors with cool bones and jewelery, cheap beer and food as you emerge into a sea of people on the sand. The sky was on fire and the vibes were hiiiigh. The drum circle was tribal and euphoric. Looking around me being surrounded by jungle and ocean and beautiful people was straight bliss.

🍄 seeing Paul staments talk about mushrooms. I only caught one but it was so cool to hear him share his stories and experiences with us.

🍽️💦the dishcoteque

The waste at this festival was pretty much non existent. It always makes me sad how people can leave a place so destroyed and covered in trash. I had to pick up no trash from the ground and all the volunteers who were picking up trash barely had anything in their buckets. When you got food at any vendor here you received an actual dish, bowl, silverware or cup. When you were done you'd bring it to the "dishcoteque" and recieve a voucher for your next one. No plastic at all barely any paper products besides some paper straws .. the bathrooms also did not have toilet paper in them.. you had to get it from the outside and bring it with you so they were not overflowing with paper and and overuse of products.

✨🎨✨ the art & the stages

There was so much phenomenal art. I was blown away by the murals everywhere and the art gallery was bursting with talent and creative energy.

The bars and booths were all made from the materials surrounding them. Everything was made from the earth. The Sol stage was surrounded by a beautiful design with a big screen in the back that had really awesome visuals on it

The lapa stage was filled with house n deep techno vibes all day and night. It felt like something out of an epic movie in there with all the mist and the lights. The entrance to the beach was right there too. It was a great place to go to just dance and chill out.  And finally... The Luna stage. W o w. The most incredible stage I've EVER seen in my life and I've seen quite a few cool stage setups. It was a huge tower of Earth and wood and vines and beauty. There was a portal where people danced behind. The lighting was a1 from the lasers to the mapping on the funktions. It was truly other worldly there.  I will be riding the high of that stage for a long time. There was water refill stations in all the right spots which made staying hydrated in the jungle heat so easy.

🌮🍓🍦🥑🥙 the food

It's usually hard for me to eat at festivals lately because I don't eat meat anymore. Chicken fingers was always a go to for me but I've sadly become very picky. Everyone was pretty accommodating to my needs ( I wish I thought about asking for no cilantro before the last day 😞 I hate that shit )and everything was so nourishing and healthy. I have not been eating well lately and I feel so nice and full after all the smoothies and juicy goodness I ingested over the weekend.

🕷️ the huge tarantula like spider that happened to wander through the crowd of people dancing with the bass vibrating the floor and onto our blanket. It was SO BIG how did you even make it through the crowd?! Stealthy dude. That was wild.

I went to the bathroom and I came across a tiny but huge tea party. Everyone had tea cups along a very small rectangle table/stool and they were singing jungle tea time jungle tea time and cheersing to life it was so cute

Wow. I haven't seen performances like that ever. Every collective blew my mind they all had a vibe of their own and absolutely slayed it on stage. Serious inspiration

Every set was so good. Nothing was like oh that was cool .. everything i was was so we'll put together and everyone definitely out out jungle vibes.

👽 Tipper 👽

This was my 30th show.. in the jungle...and the Luna stage couldn't have been any better. He played so many fat unreleased tracks and vips I have never heard before. Serious deep jungle vibes. I can honestly say that was my flave set I've seen by him so far. There were no visuals but I was so okay with that. the lights were so on point and the performers were so freaking good and well paired with what he was putting out. I am sooooo freaking thankful for that experience and to have had it with all my tipper family. This community has Brought me all over the country and now out of the US. I am constantly overstimulated and it's just getting more intense as I get older so traveling can be difficult for me. The high energy if the airport is a lot for me. Music festivals are even a lot for me but I eventually get comfortable..I just love the epic moments of euphoria through music and these experiences that I'll push myself through the rest of it. The way tippers music makes me feel is so worth trooping through a sea of energies to get to that moment. It's truly beautiful for me and I know others feel the same. Blessed to be alive for the making of tipper music

✨ the first real full set of music we saw was jpod.. someone ive never listened to and I'm so glad I know about him now. It was so fun I found all my friends and it was the perfect way to kick off the weekend.

✨Naughty princess was someone I didn't know as well and she threwwwww down a dirty heavy dubstep set. It was proper as fuck and she looked like a boss in the dj booth.

✨🔮Clozees first set on Friday night was so surreal. Seeing her live is a true experience. It got so heavy and blissful it was by far my flavorite set I've seen from her. She's so humble and cute and beyond excited to be doing this for us. When she plays she emmits such a powerful feminine vibe. The high that gave me was super intense.

✨ The funk hunters played two sets. The but their Saturday night set on the Luna stage was so fire. They're so fun and energetic

✨LAZY SYRUP ORCHESTRA...... If you don't know them please go listen to their sets on SoundCloud. The sun had risen and the people were vibin.. 6am set - ???? It was so freaking good ahhhh words can't even decribes

They're all so talented I want to return to that moment forever.

✨ Drrtywulvs ... Wowza. That was so fun and uplifting.. all the booty shaking..I love his music and all the noises. It always makes my body move in the weirdest of ways.

✨SUPERTASK..he's one of my flavorite artists ever and he threw downnnnnnnnn such a dope set in the jungle.

✨ SOOHAN was everything I wanted. His music makes me dance in all the best ways

✨🌄 Clozees played a sunrise set @ 545 and it was beautiful. She was very downtempo and played a lot of slower vibe songs.. it was perfect and blissful.

✨ and finally emancipator. They are forever one of my flavorites. They played at 7 am and closed out the Luna stage with the most magical morning vibes. I feel like they played a lot of new music and it was a perfect way to bring down the high energy from the night
