hi, just wanna share a "success story." i'm choosing to stay anonymous because i don't want to be bombarded with questions, because the asker can find answers within themselves.

i'll just cut straight to the chase. throughout high school, especially when we were online during the pandemic, i would cheat on all my exams. i'd say this started mid 8th grade until mid 11th grade. mind you, it wasn't threshold based, so i wasn't really harming anyone. me cheating basically stopped the class average from dropping down 70% lol.

the act of me cheating alone reveals many things; i was unconfident in myself, insecure, and cared what other people thought of me.

11th grade is where people here start to get really anxious. pulling all nighters and getting caffiene addictions. but i was lazing around, and did what i always did. of course, online exams don't last forever, especially not when it comes to an international exam. it really only hit me months before the real tests that cheating wasn't gonna get me anywhere.

how was i supposed to do these exams? ones that people take at least two years to prepare for? that people study their asses off for? with all the high expectations i falsely gained from my peers and parents, i knew that if i failed these tests, not only would i be ashamed, but everyone would begin to doubt me and inevitably find out about my cheating habits. and i didn't want that to happen.

i did everything i could. i tried to study, but i was inefficient because i basically never opened a book on my own before that, then i tried to get tuition, which only worked to some extent. the highest i have everr gotten on a practice paper was a B, and it was a low one.

i took eight subjects. most people here take 6/7, but i didn't wanna drop one because i didn't want to feel the "shame." again, i really cared about what others thought of me.

so, at this point, i thought. well, i'm screwed.

then i came across subliminals while looking up focus music, which lead me to manifestion -> law of assumption -> neville goddard -> the 4D -> the inner man.

started to implement the law. thought i'd pass all my exams because hell, why not? i persisted that i was just gonna pass because i said so.

i gave the inner man good grades because i could. i saw a good report card in my head because i could. i imagined myself happy on results day. despite the fact that i was underprepared by a mile. why? because i could.

i got straight A's for my exams and got an outstanding reward. this truly revealed to me the power of the law, because just a month back, i was pulling my hair out and stressing like crazy. i'm not proud of my old habits. but with the law, i was able to live the lazy life of my dreams (lol) and still be awarded with praise, smiles and trophies.

wanted to share this story because i feel like knowing the law is so important. it's so easy too. all you have to do is give it to yourself, the inner man, the true self.

don't stress about getting those grades, getting that girl, that dream body, clear skin. don't stress about getting. just give it to yourself, because you can.

Monthly Tuition and Late Fees – NEW UPDATES

Monthly tuition is due the first of every month.  Monthly statements are NOT sent home.  You may pay online, drop in the tuition box by the studio office, or mail it in.  There is a $20 late fee for tuition that is paid after the 11th of the month.  This will be strictly enforced.  There are no refunds for missed classes.  Thank you in advance for paying on time.

1st costume payment will be due October 1st.  The second costume payment will be due November 1st.  No costume refunds after November 10th or once the costume order has been placed.

Dress Code

The dress code is listed in the brochure and will be enforced by the instructor.  Students learn their best and safest if they are in the correct attire.  Children in combo classes must have both pairs of shoes required.  Students will be asked to observe class if they are not in the proper attire.  No T-shirts allowed.  

Base attire for all classes – leotard and tights, yoga pants and shorts can be worn for tap, jazz and hip hop.

Specific class attire for the following classes:

Ballet I - purple leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers (no ballet skirts)

Ballet II – royal blue leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers (no ballet skirts)

Ballet III – red leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers (ballet skirts optional)

2023/April 11th - Not Smartest

(Slept all day, please forgive.)

So… I believe I mentioned that I went to college a total of three times.

The first of these times (all the way back in 2011), I decided to go to an out-of-state university. Now, if you aren’t familiar with how the American college and university system works, costs are tiered. In-state residents pay a base rate, out-of-state residents pay significantly more, but residents of “neighbor states” can pay somewhere in the middle.

I bring this up because my state university system had this thing where if you graduated high school in the top 5-10% of your graduating class, you were given guaranteed admission to the in-state university of your choice. This was a scam, however, as the cost of tuition alone for these universities would put someone in debt for life.

It was actually cheaper for me to go to a university in a nearby state, plus it allowed me to get away from most of the people I went to high school with. I would use my first year of university to start my transition, after all. That said, I had to take out student loans and I put myself decently in debt that first year.

The following summer, I was told I could no longer receive student loans for that university. I had somehow maxed them out. I still don’t understand this, as my debt was only around $20,000 and there are people with over $200,000 in student loans (I seriously do not understand the U.S. educational system). As such, I had to drop out of that university after just one year.

I was severely depressed after this, but my mother encouraged me to take classes at the community college in my town. I would have to pay for these out of pocket (I used a credit card; not smart but eventually paid that off), but it allowed me to – after another year and a half – finish with a general studies associate degree in social sciences.

One of the problems was that the university I went to was on the quarter system, while the community college was on a semester system. Not all of my units transferred, and the ones that did were sometimes counted as partial credit. This severely limited my course and degree options. (Again, this system makes no sense.)

I used that degree in order to get one job, and then I never referenced it again.

After getting that degree, I took a few more classes at that same college but failed to keep the momentum and dropped out again (by this time it was around 2016). For several years, I worked odd jobs – as the job I had used the degree in order to get, I had been fired from (you’ll hear about that one later).

When the pandemic happened, a lot of crazy things happened in my life that you will hear about later. Ultimately, some of these things convinced me to go back to community college (officially my third time in post-secondary education).

This time, however, I was lucky enough to get grants to help finance it. So, I did one year completely online and then I did a semester in person once the pandemic restrictions were lifted. I decided to study computer aided drafting and design, and I got my certificate for it in June 2022.

The certificate is displayed proudly on a shelf in my room. As for what I want to do with it, well… I wanted to use the drafting knowledge I learned to design tinyhomes for people with low incomes. I have a working design and white paper explaining implementation. I just lack the confidence to submit it anywhere yet. (Lack of confidence is a common theme with me, you see.)

For the past year, as I have been dealing with health problems and other stuff, I have been writing research documents in my spare time, trying unrelated things to show I am capable enough before gambling on what I consider my most passionate venture because I really do not want to fail.

However, so far, all of those research documents have failed. Miserably.

I don’t know if there is a point to all of this, but if there is, maybe it’s thus: there really is no discernable difference between what you learn at a cheaper community college versus what you learn at a more expensive university. In either one, you will have professors you love or professors you hate.

And when you finish your degree or certificate program, the real world is still going to kick you in the teeth if people feel your contributions are not worth anything. This is the part I am struggling with the most right now. I think what most people really use college and university for is networking opportunities, because I noticed this at each institution I went to.

At the most recent college I went to, my classmates were scouted for jobs in respective industries and managed to get hired on as a result of my professor putting in a good word for them. My professor did the same for me, though the company I interviewed for wasn’t the best fit and I ultimately had to decline the opportunity (made worse by my health problems worsening around that time).

So, if you are currently in college or university, my advice? Make friends. Seriously. Befriend your professors as well as anyone who could potentially specialize in getting your name out there. You only have so much time before you leave, and that window closes for you. If I’d had more time, maybe I would have found the place for me. I wonder…

Please meet your dancer at the end of the parade route by the softball field at the high school. Parents are welcome to join us in the parade.

Butterbraid Fundraiser begins Monday, September 11th.  A separate email will be sent with more info.

The BAND app will be your go to for all studio info.  An invite to your dancers class BAND will be sent to all account holders.  Monthly emails and bulletin board posts will also be a great source of information for all studio happenings.  NSD staff is always here to help, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Monthly Tuition and Late Fees – NEW UPDATES

Monthly tuition is due the first of every month.  Monthly statements are NOT sent home.  You may pay online, drop in the tuition box by the studio office, or mail it in.  There is a $20 late fee for tuition that is paid after the 11th of the month.  This will be strictly enforced.  There are no refunds for missed classes.  Thank you in advance for paying on time.

Studio policies are listed on our website on the schedule page and are agreed upon during your online registration. 

Costume Payments

1st costume payment will be due October 1st.  The second costume payment will be due November 1st.  No costume refunds after November 10th or once the costume order has been placed.

Missed Classes

Please fill out this form if your dancer will be absent from class. 

Dress Code

The dress code is listed in the brochure and will be enforced by the instructor.  Students learn their best and safest if they are in the correct attire.  Children in combo classes must have both pairs of shoes required.  Students will be asked to observe class if they are not in the proper attire.  No T-shirts allowed.  

Base attire for all classes – leotard and tights, yoga pants and shorts can be worn for tap, jazz and hip hop.

Specific class attire for the following classes:

Ballet I - purple leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers (no ballet skirts)

Ballet II – royal blue leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers (no ballet skirts)

Ballet III – red leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers (ballet skirts optional)

Ballet IV - black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers (ballet skirts optional)

Important Reminder - Please make sure you are there to pick up your dancer when class has ended.  The teacher is not responsible for your child once class has ended due to starting the following class on time.  If you will be late or someone else is picking up your child, please inform the teacher.

PLEASE NO STREET SHOES IN THE STUDIOS!

We have a snack bar in the family lounge for your convenience.  Please keep all food in the family lounge, this includes all drinks except water.

At this time the family lounge is ONLY open to dancers and staff.
