unpopular opinion I guess but I don’t think Na’vi purr actually

don’t get me wrong I love a good purr, but true purring is a very specific thing that requires specific anatomical abilities and despite their catlike aesthetic we don’t have any reason to assume that the Na’vi have such an ability 

even working around the anatomy thing with pseudo-purring/“pleasure growling” like I headcanon for ToA trolls doesn’t really quite fit because unlike trolls Na’vi simply don’t seem to make those types of sounds. They hiss, yes, but they don’t really growl or roar or make any sort of those deep rumbly noises that could be adapted into a “purr”

idk man, I guess as much as I can understand the appeal of nonhuman characters that purr, in this particular case it just feels a little unnecessary to me to assume that they do it just because they look vaguely feline despite having no examples of them actually making that kind of sound

Cas' brother is Malachi, they're fraternal twins. old never posted sketch 4 visuals... I meant to redesign his horns and headpiece a little bit but I am lazy as hell when it’s not Gortcas unfortunately… it's still accurate though

he's got the same issue as Cas where he's a bit... too violent for a devil💖 a GOOD bit more unstable personality wise though. He was also really almost pseudo-incestuously obsessed with Cas to the extent that he killed their parents so they wouldn't be "in the way". (mind you Cas did not give two shits about this either but I suppose it does show how they were😭)

Cas didn't really have any of that but he did keep Mal around for quite a good bit just because he was devoted so Cas could use him. They were both taken and raised as incubi but Malachi, as opposed to Cas, kind of just... caved in and did what they asked, which made Cas start to despise him even more. In general Cas just kinda looked down on him tbh, it was very "how the hell are you even related to me"

Anyways the short version is that when Cas got beaten and disgraced by Mephistopheles and had to flee to the mortal plane his brother helped and followed him just for Cas (in Slayer form for the first time back then) to maul him and rip out his wings and eyes. More or less out of pure spite and hatred for the fact that everything happened to him and not his brother and he just wanted to make him suffer for it. After that, again, his hatred for his brother combined with his fate just kind of driving him to this, Cas sold his ass out to a past contact from the Hells which resulted in Malachai to be held in an Abyssal prison and experimented on because said party wanted to see if he can be twisted into a fully fledged demon (referring to when I said that Cas was "Abyss-tainted" a bit ago, same as his brother)

He comes back for a little bit later but generally this is where their paths separate.👼

Meat Marionette 7?? 8????

Thinkin of the lil robins and other kids and just, them trying to build Jarro a meat body maybe. Idk, still rotating Jarro and if he'd have one seeing as they had to build his human form via some different body parts and such...

Anyway did some sleep deprived sketches of each- though I just realized I didn't label Cullen, oh well lol. I like to think the first couple robins are all more flesh and exposed muscle looking as the Tunnels adjust to building bodies that can still, well, grow and develop. They've only just succeeded in building a body that can move and semi function with Bruce after all, and even then it takes a couple years for that body to shift into something more alive with like, a stomach and such that needs more than time in the Hive and some Lazarus water for food and hydration. And even then it's another year or so of the bodies needing to be fed via IV before everything actually becomes semi functional as well, a body.

But anyway, his eleven children!

Dick's body starts out the most simple, but is also the first that they discover that the meat marionettes can in fact evolve seeing as he starts to grow electricity-producing organs almost akin to something like an eel. Which is probably very distressing to Bruce because like, this is his baby?? Who can suddenly tase people which is fine, but what if it gets stronger?

Jason's robin body doesn't get a lot of evolution before the Joker Incident, and then it formed a cocoon to become the next form over a year or so. I do feel like his wings were fluffier and had some down still, not enough to prevent flight, but enough to slow down say, take offs.

By the time Tim & Steph comes around, their bodies have started to develop more armor similar to Bruce's. Like the bodies are slowly developing even when the Hive first creates them from the flesh walls as the Tunnels get better at building living moving bodies. Like it's still are mostly soft larva-esque chitin still, but It's still visibly learning.

And then with Cass her body is far darker, more similar to one of the Bats than the rest of the babies. There's still bits of color- bright yellows to warn for venom and poison- but it's such a sudden left turn that they're concerned about what the Tunnels might do next.

It's a relief when it goes back to more colorful designs with the next ones, even if Duke probably has ended up the most armored straight out of the flesh.

Honestly in general I feel like they're actually very soft if someone gets close enough to touch them. Like they look terrifying, especially in night when it's dark out, but compared to their parent & aunt they're like fluffy baby birds. Something the kids in Gotham are probably familiar with, because the birds will help comfort scared people and victims while Bruce takes care of whatever caused their distress. Sometimes just crouches down and pulls out a small puzzle or something from one of his bags while waiting for the police to arrive while distracting the kids, his own and not.

Jarro if he does have a body like theirs, meat marionette or made by them, I feel like it looks more like some sort of hybrid of whatever the batclan are and some sort of aquatic creature. Like an aquatic (swimming?) xenomorph compared to a runner or a drone. Visibly the same species, but looks almost like a similar caste or subspecies if that makes sense? But honestly if yall have any ideas I am open to them. ______________________________________________________________

Can we have an update on the Creature™

(...btw, as I tape this, I wonder if Creature has the Lego brand markings on its body parts like normal mini figures, and/or if it has noticed the brand markings on other Lego pieces at all...)

creature is a lego minifigure, so it has lego brand markings in places where its body hasn't been changed. It doesn't have the capacity to recognize letters and symbols as meaning anything though, let alone read or understand something as complex as branding, so this is not something it has interest in. It does however find instinctual comfort in interacting with other lego pieces.

Or, perhaps a dragon pregnancy takes years, perhaps even over a decade, and that is the source of the bond - there's nothing more ferocious than a dragon fighting to protect its mate and unborn child.

Dragon knight armor is especially designed to accommodate and protect the slowly growing pregnancy, and a knight's well-conditioned body - further empowered by the dragon's magic now coursing through them - is able to get around easily, and even fight should the need arise; dragons are sturdy creatures, so miscarriage of any kind is exceptionally rare. In fact, the rounder the knight, the more dangerous and powerful they and their dragon become.

Eventually, they do get too big and heavy to ride into battle; wise old veterans, hair grey around the edges, they're highly respected figures and well-taken care of, and powerful sorcerers that aren't to be crossed. So colossal and ripe that people wonder how they can possibly stand, rotund bellies now hanging low and squirming with their young, which evolves to violent thrashing as the birth nears, their tightly packed wombs constantly warped and moving, impossible to hide. It's at least another few months at this stage, and the sight of it scares many off from mating with dragons, though a rare few find themselves excited.

Some dragons sequester their mates away to give birth; contractions and labor can last weeks, and the dragon will nuzzle and pleasure their partner the whole way through to prepare them

for those who don't, a live dragon birth may be quite a public celebration.

What I think is extremely funny is that this transformation went mostly unnoticed up until the very end because a lot of the changes were very... Fritz. He was literally already enough of a freak of nature that when he DID become one, no-one noticed until they pulled up old photos of him.

Like - "You're telling me he's roaming the woods in the middle of the night, eating carrion and rotting meat, and you watched him crush bone between his teeth? Yeaaah, that's Fritz, he's a freak."

But anyways,

When Comet died, he was left without a source of protection. He's already grieving the loss of her, but now there is the problem that he actually is vulnerable and in danger without a giant spider to keep him company - they spent their whole lives dismantling an extremely powerful company that creates murder machines both un-and-in-tentionally. Fritz and Comet had an entire species and incredibly powerful billionares as opps for over 15 years, and Comet, the 80-ton murder spider on his side, is now dead. He is scared and sad, and one of the things he is scared to do is sleep.

The way Comet was at his side as they slept had an almost hypnotic effect (because of how big Comet's heart was, her heartbeat was constantly audible and as they slept, Fritz's own heartbeat matched up with what was a very slow one) that made the both of them feel incredibly safe and without her he's both scared for his life and without that easy crutch for calming down. Comet was placed in the starfall (I have NO damn clue as to how) and once while visiting her, he spends too long and sleeps beside her.

It is the first time he sleeps well in weeks.

Chasing that, he keeps visiting and sleeping by her side or inside her as the soft tissue begins to disappear, and because of the prolonged exposure, he begins to adapt as a member of the starfall ecosystem. His stomach becomes stronger and the smell/taste of rotting meat, something he used to hate, begins to be more palatable, and he's sensitive to even just the sound that her body produces with the wind, which is rather similar to organ pipes.

If it wasn't hard enough to cope with the loss of the love of your life, it's even harder when the love of your life is slowly becoming your ideal environment from her grave! The worst part is is that he struggles to stop visiting her because he likes the change. Because of this, he's 90 with the dexterity and general energy that he had 50 years ago, and the fact he's changing at all makes him feel like Comet is still with him. The fact that despite her death, she's still affecting him and changing him in the way he can see her effects on him, he can feel her effects on him, with his fingertips and in his head. He doesn't see them as effects or biproducts or circumstance radiating from her,

He sees the changes like it's her right there.
