I actually loosely based their fear after my own fear of the ocean. Being lost at sea is genuinely my worst fear, I refuse to do more than wading in the ocean because of it.

I'm not really sure what kind of fish to make the reader, I'm still debating if I even want to specify it or leave it vague so readers can choose their own fish. I might go with an aquatic mammal though, something that still requires air and can't exclusively live underwater. I think that would be interesting given their fears.

I'm glad you liked the choices I made for them! It took a while, but I had a lot of fun picking them out. Thresher sharks are my favorite fish, so I'm very happy I was able to use them for Sanji.

Regarding Chopper, he can change forms to go on land, but only very briefly. It's pretty risky, so he usually avoids it when he can. I imagine that since merfolk are already in danger on land, the devil fruit would just kinda speed it up. Like they dry out faster than a regular merperson would.

3. how do the other characters generally feel about your self insert?

oooh this is a funky one!! for the most part, people are friendly with me! clive thinks im...eccentric, kinda like mid, but ultimately on his side and he trusts me a fair amount. jill and cid have similar opinions but both of them are pretty suspicious towards kosmos (being) so they keep a little distance. i think joshua and dion in this verse have a lot of respect + curiosity towards kosmos (both) but arent willing to get too close/familiar with me - they dont exactly trust the waloeders and think im more than a little nuts for being with them.

i mean we are all on the same side when it comes to fighting ultima but there is certainly tension between The Gang at times! hehes in drama :3

4. would you be considered a main character, side character, villain, or something else?

they're a pretty main character! in the main canon for kos, clive casts a spell at origin to bring him back in time to fix things at phoenix gate. this spell doesnt quite work? he goes back to a little before the fight between shiva + titan. and it brings kosmos (being) back to valisthea through some timey wimey space bullshit rules. but the entity kosmos is connected to/kind of a part of my si, ryder, so he ends up there too :p

the story changes pretty significantly bc of clive already but i help make it even more different!

5. does your self insert have any special powers or abilities?

yess kosmos has a bunch!!!! because of how he gets introduced/brought to valisthea his powers are linked with clives! so instead of just having the aspected magic innately like ultima does and like kosmos (being) used to, they only get eikons/aspected magic back when clive absorbs from the dominant.

they do also have a few bonus abilities, namely that their magic is weird and doesn't use aether the same way? its a lot more symbiotic - because of being stuck in the other dimension for so long - so they dont suffer the curse. and because of this, they have this disrupting affect around akashic beings. said disrupting affect can be pacifying them (to an extent) or even completely undoing the akashicness - it varies!

theyre very self indulgent as an s/i and i enjoy it a lot :3
