Could you share your favourite fics with us on here please? I trust your opinion!!

Oooo yessssss! OMG where do I start, there are sooooo many amazing writers on here!! Im not sure I’ll get to everyone in this post, so I’m just going to share the series that I’m currently reading/or have read recently. And then I’ll do another post for everyone else I’ve missed 🤍

Okay so there’s my girl @illyrianbitch !! I devour anything she writes, and I’m loving her current series ‘Beneath the Ashes of Our Broken Oaths’ (Az x reader) 🥹 it’s so so so good! Everything she writes is amazing, she also wrote for Cassian recently, and its converted me to a Cass lover! 😍 Go read her masterlist asap! 🩵

Of course there’s @pellucid-constellations she’s the one who actually got me back into acotar!! I originally found her through her BEAUTIFUL Bucky pics (so any marvel lovers should head over, because her Bucky masterlist is a dream 🤤) and then she started writing for Azriel, I quickly realised I needed to find out who this character was. Now I’m on acosf and well… I’m truly obsessed! She has an amazing series called ‘If It All Fell’ (Az x reader) that is currently in progress and I really encourage you to go give it a read, along with everything else she’s written! 🩷

I LOVE @florencemtrash , if you are not reading their ‘The Shadowsigner and the Inkbird’ series (Az x reader, you can see there’s a theme 👀 I love Azriel) then you are missing out! The latest chapter was an absoutle killer, I’m still recovering! 🥲 But GO GO GO!! It is truly a masterpiece! 💛

@assassinsblade has some truly beautiful work as well! ‘Forget me not’ was how I found her, and it’s beautiful. ‘Arrows and Ashes’ had me in the feels for sure! Truly incredible, she’s also written something recently for Eris which was just *chefs kiss* 💚

I’m also reading @fieldofdaisiies ‘Whispers of the forgotten’ it’s ongoing, and I’m so so so excited to see what happens!!! It’s AMAZING! 💜

There is literally sooooo many other writers on here that I love, and I know I’ve missed so many. I’m a sucker for a series, hence all the series reccs but I need to have a deep dive into all the one-shots, so I can compile and share my faves!

i used to be kinda "eehhhHhHhH :/" about omegaverse stuff because a lot of content as it was written was just like... m!dom/f!sub with HUUUGE gender stereotypes that were engrained in the setting.

like without some of the more alpha-wolf/animal/primal parts of omegaverse lore (scenting, nesting, heat/rut being the equivalent of a period but horny) f/m ships just turned into "gender stereotypes but we say omega and alpha instead of female and male".

but it goes deeper!! i've really liked the dom!omega ideas people have brought up. and mismatched dynamics? omega/omega? beta/omega or beta/alpha? the angst/pining/miscommunication potential is OFF THE CHARTS!

and scenting, nesting, the bite mark things, those are fun! i started to enjoy it a lot when i just thought of omegaverse tropes as tools to spice things up, not a template where the alpha would always be the dominant male and the omega would be the submissive female.

and even that can still work, but it's more exciting if you mix it up in different ways. one of my favorite fics is this alpha!geto/omega!reader where the reader is extremely anxious about going into heat and doesn't want to, but it's medically necessary, and geto is your mate and he helps you through it.

it does play to the more dubcon parts of the omegaverse but it's a really good read, shockingly fluffy and emotional and sweet.

but yeah sdhkfgsldhgd anyways let me know if you're ever up to writing it, i have many MANY omegaverse thoughts hjkfghdshg

Oooo yeahh I used to think that too, but then I got really interested with how they'd turn gender stereotypes on their head and switch gender roles 🧐

He had pissed her off somehow. That much was abundantly clear, but for the life of him Lucien could not figure out what he could possibly have done. They were months away from their anniversary, Valentine’s Day, or her birthday. He hadn’t missed either of her sisters’ birthdays. As far as he could remember he hadn’t canceled plans with her to hang out with his friends, and they hadn’t argued about anything recently.

But Elain was mad at him. Even from hundreds of miles away he could tell. Lucien could read her moods more easily than he could read his own.

She was normally so excited to go on her research trips for her job as landscape designer at the botanical garden, but this week something was off. Usually his phone would have been pinging all week long with incoming photos and videos of various local flora from wherever she was visiting, accompanied by detailed descriptions and arguments for whether they would survive or not in their climate. At night she always face-timed from the hotel, sleepy but bright-eyed.

She’d been gone for five days, and other than a quick message from the airport saying that she had made it, he had barely heard from her. Lucien might have thought she’d been abducted, were it not for the short, punctuated messages she sent when he inquired about her day or asked if he could call. When Elain used periods in her text messages Lucien always knew he was in trouble.

He just needed to figure out what he had done.

He thumbed a quick message, bracing himself for radio silence as he pressed send.

Another successful day in paradise? Hope you’re having fun. Miss you. Give me a call if you can!

Flirtation usually worked when she was cranky. A few neck kisses, (bonus points if they were from behind), some whispered words in her ear, a well-timed heated look, and she’d be smiling and bright-eyed again. But without the physical aspect at his disposal he’d have to be more creative. Unless….

He hesitated, and then quickly typed another message.

Lucien took the stairs two at a time up to their bedroom, discarding his t-shirt along the way. Feeling supremely foolish, he chucked off his pants and slid under the covers, draping them low over his hips. He schooled his features into his best devilish grin, the one he knew she couldn’t resist, and snapped a selfie.

See? So lonely without you…

His phone rang less than a minute later. He chuckled, breathing a sigh of relief as Elain’s sun-rosy cheeks filled his screen.

“Hi love,” he said.

Elain was biting her lip in the way he knew meant she was trying to keep herself from smiling.

“Hi.”

“Is everything all right?”

“Of course,” she said, not quite meeting his gaze. “Why wouldn’t it be?”

Lucien fixed her with a searching look. “You’ve been avoiding me. Did something happen on your trip?”

Elain sighed. “No. Nothing like that.”

So definitely something he did.

“Are you mad at me? Did I do something?”

Elain seemed to hesitate for a moment, and then she sighed again, finally looking at him directly. “No. I miss you too much to be mad anymore.”

Lucien’s stomach lurched with a pang of guilt. “What did I do?” he asked, sitting up in bed. “Just tell me.”

“It’s nothing,” she mumbled. “Just forget it. It’s stupid.”

“Elain, please. I don’t think anything you have to say it stupid.”

She averted her gaze again, and then mumbled something unintelligible.

“Sorry, what was that?”

“I said, you didn’t hide anything. In my suitcase. But it’s fine. Like I said, it’s stupid, I just missed you…”

A weight lifted off Lucien’s shoulders as realization hit him. The first time Elain had gone on a business trip he had slipped one of his t-shirts and a note into her luggage, as a joke. So you won’t forget about me, the note had said. The tradition had stuck, and every time she went away he hid something in her suitcase. A piece of clothing, a book, a dried flower.

Lucien grinned, shaking his head at his wife affectionately. “Love. Have you worn any socks this week?”

Elain frowned. “What?”

“Did you wear any socks this week?” he repeated, holding in a laugh.

Elain’s eyes widened in sudden understanding. She dropped the phone to the bed, judging from his sudden view of her hotel room ceiling. He could hear the sound of rustling as she dug through the contents of her suitcase. There was a gasp of delight, and then her face filled his screen again, along with a crumpled piece of paper.

“You made me a playlist!”

“It’s on my Spotify. I know it’s not as romantic as an old school mix tape, but…”

“I love it,” she said, pressing the paper to her chest. “I love you.”

“I love you too, silly.”

“I’m sorry I was grumpy.”

Lucien smiled devilishly. “However will you make it up to me?”

Elain’s cheeks turned pink as her gaze slid down his bare chest. “That depends. What are you wearing?”

“Excuse me!” he retorted with mock affront. “Why should you get a reward?” As he spoke he kicked off his boxers as surreptitiously as he could.

“Because I asked first,” she said simply, eyes twinkling with mischief. “Now show me.”

“Your wish is my command, my love.”

3- ok so my process is basically non-existent, but i'll walk you through it anyway. so i'll have an idea for a scene literally at any point. sometimes it can be a single sentence or sometimes it can be a vague concept, but i always write it down. if i have my phone it's almost always going in my notes app. from there, i just kind of expand on the idea as it develops when i get back to my laptop. i tend to write the exciting and important scenes first in a very rough fashion, and then go back to fill in the blanks. then i go back and polish by combing over it for grammar mistakes and adding a few more details. that's pretty much it!

20- i use a lot of rain imagery i think. actually i use a lot of weather imagery bc i'm annoyinggg. and then ofc i use aspects of my trauma in most of my fics (even ones you wouldn't suspect) but no one really would pick up on that since y'all don't know, but themes of abuse are certainly littered through out. obviously biblical imagery, too. i can't think of any phrases, SO IF YOU KNOW OF SOME THAT YOU NOTICED I'VE USED A LOT LEMME KNOW.

24- the worst advice i've ever gotten is if you're stuck, delete everything and start over. absolutely not. you can start over, but i wouldn't ever delete anything. even if i don't use lines in one fic, i can always recycle and put it somewhere else. NEVER DELETE. YOU'LL REGRET IT. TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.

33- YES I WANT TO BE PUBLISHED. i have so many original novel ideas and i want to write southern gothic literature so badly. i doubt it will ever happen but that's the dream. i would also really like to write my own plays :))) but for now, i'm sticking to universes and characters i'm already familiar with

Happy New Year!

I love everyone in this bar 💕💕💕Thanks for hanging around and reading my fics or being into the same fandoms, or whatever weird, unhealthy reason has you following me (👀). I know I haven’t been as around, as responsive, or as posty in the last few months - I’m growing a miniature ferretling! I’m a Timbit manufacturing plant! 3D printing an offspring! Nourishing a terrifying parasite that is probably eating my bones and has a weird thing for apples! 😳

I’m still writing, but slowly, I’m still sooo excited for @reforgedzine which is going to be posting some oooo updates soon! (yay!), and I’m still in love with all my fandoms! With the craziness of the holidays over, I’m going to try and get back into regular writing and doing my wipdates and stuff, and I still love hearing from my friends here, so feel free to send me asks. I don’t mind answering pokes about my WIPs and stuff - knowing someone’s excited for something of mine usually motivates at least a few words out of me on it lol. I def have some long-term WIPs I’d like to finish up before Timbit arrives.

Upcoming: an epi for DNR I promised too long ago, a POTS holiday bingo fill, a few posts of things I finished a while ago and never edited and posted, and then diving into a few longer things I’ve had on the middle burner (also maybe some original stuff...??).

Anywho, just wanted to post a mini update, say happy new year, and welcome you back to real life if you, like me, are emerging, blinking, from your holiday cave and realizing you haven’t paid a few too many bills during the time off and the kitchen smells kinda weird.

Last Song: well I've been listening to a Playlist while I've been Working on this so I'll hand you Two: started writing to Sleep Walking Orchestra (Bump of Chicken) and ended on Nonsense Bungaku (Eve)! Both are solid imho hahaha. The first is the opening to the Dungeon Meshi anime (very solid and fun show. Oooo you want to watch it so bad) and the 2nd is the Result of me going on an Eve deep dive a couple months back lol

Favorite Color: I'm fond of actually. A Lot of shades of blue tbh! Aquamarine, Peacock Green/Teal, and Indigo are some particular shades that come to mind. I also love Raspberry/Wine red!

Last Book: hmmm let's see the last time I read A Book was Little Thieves by Margaret Owen! It's a retelling of the fairy tale The Goose Girl from the perspective of the maid who stole the princess's identity and its hella good if you like that good good folk fantasy magic!

Last Movie: uhhhHHHHH I Think??? It was Your Name? No wait it was Astro Boy (2009) with a friend of mine because we were reminiscing about nostalgia and realised we both remembered watching and enjoying it but not remembering Anything about the plot lmao. The pacing was like 500 mph but the animation aged pretty darn well! Storywise Defo had potential and I'm always a sucker for taking the sand a story was made of and seeing what kinds of castles could have been built

Last TV Show: Pluto on Netflix. Oh my god. Just watched Ep 6 last night and I'm ready to Not Be Normal (have not been normal since ep 1 but that's besides the point). Defo the kind of show that is to be Savored I Don't recommend binge watching it space out those 8 1 hr long eps so you can properly appreciate and process it. It's good I highly recommend it if you're into a good sci fi fantasy! How many sad dads can a singular mini series have. The answer is Yes

Sweet/Spicy/Savory: I tend to prefer Sweet>Savory>Spicy! I Do have A Spice Tolerance to some extent, but if given the choice I tend to prefer it light! (My Sweet tolerance is actually pretty pitiful but that doesn't stop me from eyeing all the pretty cakes and candies LMAO)

Relationship Status: I have Two Hands and I'm using them both for tax fraud >:'D

Last Thing I Googled: 'Shinji in Chair Meme' (searching for a reaction pic to send to a friend wrt ^Pluto)

Current Obsession: in case you haven't guessed already. Not being Normal about Pluto ncsvdjf. I'm also super into Kirby and the My OCs fandom (always rotating my and my buddies' OCs in the cranium condominium all the time all the time)

Looking Forward to: finally digging into and clearing out the sheer Mountain of WIPs I have accumulated :') holiday stressors are now over which means I can get working! (I am sincerely excited bc I've been looking forward to seeing some of them completed for a long long time hahaha) also got some future cosplans in the works! We'll see what comes out of it! 👀
