Wanted to re-draw one of my fav scenes while I was doing Mal's route (it isn't really a route as far as I can tell but idc). Either way, I LOVE MAL HELP ME

Mal obviously belongs to @lacunafiction and the bottom weirdo over there is Velia "Vee" Zane. Goes by she/they and it's so funny to me because Vee is like... the opposite of the red flag Mal is. Vee likes to hide, doesn't like doing ANYTHING, and is most likely the first one to die in a horror movie (because they lack the will😔).

Either way, Vee is crushing on Mal hard, but she doesn't even know that LOL (and how doesn't she notice???? like vee darling, you're super careful and cautious of everyone, but with Mal you're like super open-faced...)

Anyways, this is my 45th time telling y'all to play The Fernweh Saga, it's my absolute fav for a reason.

Stormy and Ophelia, the first time they met.

It was a rainy day, Stormy needed some time alone. Walking through the forest she began to express the accumulated stress, lightning after lightning sent to the trees.

All this mess caught the attention of a girl who was resting on a tree branch. She was about to say something when one of the rays almost hit her, making her fall from the tree as a reflex.

- Ah, I didn't see you there

- No prob

The deafening silence after the chaos was uncomfortable, Stormy just stood there staring at the girl in front of her who was slowly getting up.

Thoughts began to surface, the weather witch's mind was going crazy, but one specific phrase stood out "shit she's really hot".

The stranger finally looked into the shorter girl's eyes, the calm expression on her face made her so much more beautiful, it calmed her nerves.

- Why is a cutie like you destroying my favorite place to rest?

Stormy remained there, standing without saying anything. It was actually funny to see, someone as powerful as her paralyzed by someone she didn't even know the name.

- I don't know why, but you remind me of a rain flower, they are my favorites, they shine and bloom only after a big storm, they represent chaos as they grow in a messy way. They are also poisonous, but these are just details.

Extending her hand, a flower grew in the other witch's hair, what a welcoming magic energy she has.

- Well, I'm Ophelia, witch of the woods, if we meet again I hope to know your name.

This would…not be a happy ending for Doc, but most t.es characters don't have one. A combination of both his natural desire to discover the unknown sprinkled with succumbing to madness slowly would lead him to his downfall and seal his fate as Mora's most favored pawn (until most likely succumbing to madness and becoming a seeker).

Huge tragic, gothic romance vibes.

[💜] S.erana Ophelia is turning out to be a huge vampire lover I guess oops. She just really likes fellow monsters. (they wouldn't even be able to drink her blood what is even the point).

I don't see these two ever becoming official so to say, especially with S.erana's own trauma with intimacy due to her own past with her lOveLy parents & the worst daedric prince to ever exist, M.olag Bal. But they have all the time in the world, and they'd be sweet together as something that blurs the lines a la 'i dont think friends do that with each other actually.' (all while killing her piece of shit pops 💕🌈💖🌼💗✨).

OC/Writing Art Asks

Pencil: does this character have any "sketchy" habits? Have they ever broken the law? Do they regret it?

She's not quite as dark as some of your characters, but she's certainly morally grey. Property damage? Breaking and entering? All kinds of probably-not-legal vigilantism? Psh, no big deal. I think the only time she regrets it is when someone close to her gets hurt as a result. Y'know, she's a little more ruthless than Peter is, but she's still aligned mostly-good, and some of her actions do come back to haunt her. But that's all I'll say for now... you'll see what I mean if you read Catch and Release

Crayon: what was your OC like when they were four years old? Were they loud? Shy? Were they the resident "weird kid" or did they get along with others their age?

So there's actually some flashbacks in Catch and Release that show her as a kid, but I think I only go as young as six with those. But I feel like regardless of her age, she's an incredibly curious person, a little loud and reckless at times, but with this endless longing for answers and solutions to the problems she runs into. Though she was definitely a bit of a "weird kid" too

Charcoal: share any unique physical features about this character that are not scars or tattoos

If it counts, I'd say her actuators. But given those aren't implanted and she's able to take them off, I'm not sure that counts as a physical feature for Ophelia specifically. So I'd say her build. She's 5'11" and built like a powerlifter (broad, burly muscle, not chiseled but strong), and this tends to set her apart from the others around her.

Pastels: Give me three colors that best represent your OC. Now give me three colors that your OC likes best. Is there an overlap?

That represent her: steel blue (for her actuators), dark grey (morally grey, and her father's actuators before her), and green (her connection to Norman and Harry Osborn)

That she likes: purple (considers it one of her distinct colors), silver (associates it with machinery and innovation), and dark blue (another of her distinct colors)

There's some overlap in how her values align with the colors she likes, but no overlap in the colors themselves

Eraser: what's one way this character has changed over time? Either over the course of their story, or over the course of designing them as an author.

Over the course of writing her, I realized that a lot of her interests and mannerisms ending up being fairly autistic-coded. This wasn't in my original plan for the character, but I as an author am neurodivergent so I'm not entirely surprised it ended up that way. And really, it makes a lot of sense for her, so once I realized (I want to say 7 or 8 chapters in, maybe) I decided to lean into it and make it a full part of her character.

Over the course of her story, I think she regains a lot of hope and appreciation for the world around her. I'll try not to spoil the surprise for you, but she'd had some events in her life that caused her to be fairly jaded and guarded, but finding a second chance for those events allowed her some reparation from that. It's actually a pretty interesting concept to explore as an author.

Marker: what's one thing your character would never tattoo on their body, even if they were paid a million dollars for it?

Hm... so Ophelia does have a tattoo (just one so far, a segment of Starry Night tattooed over the crest of her left hip), so she's certainly not opposed to the idea of tattoos. As far as what she wouldn't get tattooed, I think she'd hate the idea of getting someone's name tattooed on her, for two reasons: 1. it's unoriginal and just seems like a bad idea even in theory, and 2. even if it wasn't, she's had pretty rotten luck in romance and she wouldn't want to chance her odds by getting someone's name permanently etched onto her skin

ngl that's probably why Eugene is my favorite of my ocs, all of them are def filled with parts of me, but I took him and decided to give him all of the love I have for the world and every tiny little thing in it and it's great

I mean it's just so nice to indulge in that mindset without any limits, to have an outlet that's just a sweet demon boy who loves earth so fucking much that it the driving force behind nearly every thing he does, and then write him idk reading wikipedia until he knows everything about rope or getting excited whenever it rains or watching a bug crawl along the window sill and have there be no shame or ulterior motive, he just loves it all

it's also nice bcs Ophelia is also me in a way, the depressed and cynical part of me, and so writing her changing as Eugene reminds her how beautiful the world is...it's like me reminding myself of that, in a way
