Vivid BAD SQUAD Splatoon headcanon yap session.
Kohane - Only knows about Splatoon because Emu kept on yapping about it. She doesn’t play the game, but her favourite idol is Pearl because she’s a rapper.
An - Has been playing for almost as long as Nene. Her favourite idol is Marie. She used to main Dynamo Roller, but now she mains Splatana Wiper because she thinks it looks cool. Also, she knows almost all the lore of the franchise.
Akito - Has only been playing since the Spicy vs Sweet vs Sour Splatfest in Splatoon 3. He does not have a favourite idol. He will main any weapon, as long as it has the Burst Bomb sub weapon.
Toya - Has played the second and third game. He took a long break after Splatoon 3 Splatoween, and returned to the game right before Grand Festival got announced. His favourite idol is Shiver. He mains the Tenta Brella, in which An said was very stupid of a choice.

Guys, new idea dropped! What if Rain Code characters played Splatoon? Not gonna do everyone this time, only a few (the MDA + most Peacekeepers and Makoto)
So, what weapon I think they would use :
Yakou : Ah shooter, because it's a classic, and I think Yakou would be into classics. Now, especially the Splattershot, because it's pretty balanced, the sticky bomb is nice, and I can see him being happy and shooting something like "Hell yeah!" everytime his trizooka is ready and he uses it
Halara : A charger because of the way they aim pretty damn well with their coin. And especially the Bamboozler 14 Mk I, because it's fucking overpowered?? The charge speed is fire, the range is great and mobility is great too! Given how fast Halara is in Rain Code, I don't think they'd like to have slow chargers with bad mobility. Now, you'll tell me "Oh but what about the Bamboozler Mk II?" well... I honestly the autobomb and killer wail of Mk1 would please Halara more because the autobomb is kinda sneaky, and the killer wail is almost unescapable, just like Halara themselves. Although I think Halara's favourite special would be the tenta missiles. Buuut, can't have everything, you know? Ok, worse case scenario, Halara would take the Goo Tuber instead of Bamboozler 14 Mk1
Yuma : A Brush because of the solution blade (why not a splatana? You'll see). At first I was hesitating between the Painbrush and Octobrush Nouveau... But I think the Painbrush's handling is too crap. As for why an Octobrush... I just think they are better than the Inkbrushes. Because they have slightly better range for only slightly worse handling and ink speed. Soo... As for why the Octobrush Nouveau precisely... I don't know how to explain it, but I feel like the special and the sub are better for Yuma? Like, I think it would suit his playstyle better? Idk how to explain it
Desuhiko : A Roller... I don't know. It screams Desuhiko to me. But not a Dynamo Roller, because they have the worse Ink Speed and handling, and I feel like Desuhiko playstyle is just random. The man just wants to have fun. But it's not fun if your weapon is slow as duck. I think he'd have a Carbon Roller Deco, because I feel that's the one which would offer the must fun thanks to the sub and special
Vivia : I have no real idea... Maybe a Slosher or a Brella? More likely a Brella? I don't know
Fubuki : A Blaster. Because she's an adventurer and all, but everyone would think she'd take something cuter or something, but turns out she likes big weapons which goes BOOM. (Maybe dualies or stringers as a second choice though). Now... Which one? I have no idea. So I'll just say which one I think she could like, and why : S-BLAST '91, it's pretty, the burst bombs are fun and it's great to have all the team cheering with you for the Booyah Bomb. Luna Blaster, it's cute and the Zipcaster makes her feel like a super-hero and she likes that. Same idea for the Luna Blaster Neo, the Ultra Stamp is very fun. And maybe the S-BLAST '92 because I feel like she would be amazed by the sprinkler and the reefslider?
Seth : I have no explanation. When I think about Seth, I think about a Slosher. Especially a Blobber. And I think like he would love the Blobber Deco over the regular Blobber, because KRAKEN ROYALE!! I think Seth would love the Kraken Royale. And, somehow, the Angle Shooter makes sense for him I think? Like, knowing where his opponents are would be in character for him I think?
Martina : The Brella, of c- WRONG! Give my lady a fucking charger! I think she would like a Snipewriter, because it has a great range and a very decent Mobility. However, I can't chose between the Snipewriter 5H, or the Snipewriter 5B... Or wait... Maybe a Stringer? But I see her with a charger more than a stringer... Hmm
Yomi : Was hesitating between a Blaster or a Splatling... But since I already gave Fubuki a Blaster, let's say I give the Splatling to Yomi. SO, I was hesitating between... Well, most of them actually, but I think I'll go with the Mini Splatling, because it has an Ultra Stamp, and I'm sure Yomi would love to literally crush his enemies to death. So yeah.
Guillaume : Dark Tetra Dualies (because those are literally the best weapons, I don't want to hear anything else)... No but really, the range is pretty neat, the mobility is awesome, and the damage... You can compensate if you manage to corner/surprise the enemy. + I think she'd like to have the autobombs because they are kinda sneaky, and of course she would like the reefslide! I mean, just look at her!
Aide : I don't know why, but a Shooter. And I feel like the .52 Gal would be best for him. I wanted one with great damage and good fire rate... None was good enough. It was either great damage but shit fire rate, or balanced range-damage-fire rate. And I didn't want that. I hesitated with the .96 Gals, but the fire rate was a bit lower than the .52. So 52 it is! As for which one... The regular .52 Gal. Because it has the killer wail and once again, the killer wail is hard to escape, so...
Makoto : Splatana... Because Makoto had to have a similar yet different weapon from Yuma + I feel like it suits him better than a brush. Now, I think he would have a Wiper because it has a better handling than the other splatanas, and I think Makoto woul prefer a good handling over the other stats. And I feel like the regular Splatana Wiper would suit him better than the Wiper Deco, because... Look at me and dare say to me that the Ultra Stamp isn't the most Makoto thing? Plus I feel like he would find the Torpedo more useful than the Squid Beakon (although squid beakon could symbolise him only counting on himself etc etc)... Either way, a splatana wiper (regular one first I think)

i agree with so many of your small changes, as someone who mains weapons with sprinkler, mist, and curling bomb people seriously underestimate what can be done with them (especially sprinkler, if you practice good placement you can be a constant threat in zones and turf)
i don't think those subs are inherently death sentences for weapons, i just think that they need some buffs to be on par with burst, splat, and suction bombs
I actually disagree, I don't think there is anything that can be done to make utility subs be on the same level as bombs, and if they were balanced to be on the same level it'd mean utility subs were either aggressively overtuned or bombs were horrifically undertuned, and neither solution is much fun for anyone. (this is why I think custom kits is kind of a bad idea, very few weapons would realistically want anything but a bomb, and there's no way to fix that without making the game much worse in the process)
Bombs are simply too good and do too much stuff in a kit for utility subs to ever catch up, but that's also fine because not all weapons can actually afford bombs in their kits, or work them into their encouraged playstyles. Weapons like the Tenta Brella, Explosher, most Splatlings, E-Liter, etc.
A lot of utility subs are undertuned even when not directly compared to bombs, but they work on a lot of weapons anyway because sans Burst Bomb a lot of them wouldn't want the alternative anyway, the problem is when a weapon that wants bombs for the damage, poke, combos, and/or area denial get a utility sub instead. S-Blast '92, Light Tetra Dualies, and Dread Wringer D are the first that come to mind, but there's a lot of them in Splatoon 3, and since I don't think Nintendo will ever change a kit directly (even if a kit is weak and/or unsynergistic, it is still someone's favourite in the whole world, and Nintendo knows that) we should at the very least do as much as we can to make them feel good to play despite themselves.

Side Order Au
Tumblr media
Story of the au- this au just adds more characters with the ability to switch the character you can play as. Being able to switch characters adds special levels
A simple side order au but, what if it was more oc based
Characters
Off the hook
Acht
Violet
Fatal Ice (seperated)
4
María
Toxic Jewels (separated)
Since this is more oc based some boss fights require specific ocs to fight it because of their relationship with the other character that they’re fighting.
Toxic Jewels & Fatal Ice are separate for a different reason because the members of the bands are separated from their female members. So, now they climb the spire of order in hopes to find them before they hit the top.
Boss Fight 1
The Captain of skeletal-Ice
Skeletal Snow
Character requirement- Jinx
Boss Fight 2
The Forgotten one
Jellyton 4
Character Requirement- Violet
Boss Fight 3
Overworked idol
Coral Raisy
Character Requirement-Bevy & Saku
Some of these characters already had gained some of the pallets needed to beat these upcoming bosses.
It would be best for them to get upgrades as they climbed the spire
With 8 being more skilled she took bites at the rigorous stages while everyone else did the hard and normal stages.
Though the ida sisters would have to battle together for the time in forever after finding a secret boss fight
Character switch- María —> Coral
Using coral in a run unlocks a level titled “The Floral Soldier” as plum takes a similar appearance as 4 and heleda looking like the skeletal fish enemies
She throws out flower-based enemies, as she runs to take cover. But, they leave the spire together in his words “He came for one thing and he got it”
Secret Boss
‘Lost Parents’
Character Requirement- Marina & María
It seems order had taken control of their parents so, now they had to defeat them to get them back . Once freed though it was not their fault they grieve that they’ve missed so much of 8’s life
Violet’s Palette
Weapon- Order E-liter 4k
Bomb-Suction Bomb
Special-Stamper
Most Common Chips-Power
Second Most Common Chips- Homing Shots

(Just wanted to make this)
[Edit-and i also will edit this every now and then when i add something new ✨]
Character Switches- character switches can give different things to the run maybe different dialogues or a special level
For example
Switch María —> Enzo(4)- You unlock a boss fight called ‘Child Star’ against a monochrome hypno shades violet with dialogue of him & pearl
Switch María —> Kamau(3)
Unlocks dialogue being confused why the captain is here along with a boss fight call ‘Octo Captain’ up against María
Also unlocks a little song duo between the two, which is a reprise/cover of Candy coated rocks & color pulse
Switch María—> Callie & Marie
Unlocks fangirling dialogue from marina and a boss fight called ‘Double Trouble’ against violet & 4
Switch María —> Glimmer & Shimmer (neo 3 & 3.1)
Unlocks new dialogue
Switch María—> Deep Cut
Unlocks new dialogue & a boss fight called ‘Out with the old in with the new’ fight with the squid sister trio
Switch María —> Octavio
Unlocks new dialogue & a boss fight called ‘The Ida’s’ between Octavio and his brother
Switch María —> Marina
Unlocks alternative dialogue & a Boss fight called ‘Inner 8’
Bonus! using marina in a run unlocks song reprises or song covers
- Marietime memory (Reprise)
Covered by- Marina & María
-Imperfect Majesty (Side order nasty majesty remix)- covered by Violet & María
-City of color reprise covered by - violet & maría
Side Order Au
Secret Boss
Bleached Infinity
Location of Boss battle: A colorless Octo Valley, the place where the storymode of splatoon 1 took place.
Normally you’d be 8 but, now you’re 3 as you now play as Kamau the captain of the new new squidbeak splatoon wearing a colorless but, tweaked version of his old agent uniform but, still bared his captain hat and main weapon now tasked with the objective to take down 8 taken over by bleached coral sticking out the side of her head.
The boss battle has 5 phases against 8 with her using two of the six maxed out power chips in each phase. Which includes Power, Range, Mobility, Drone , Support & Lucky.
During the fifth phase 8 is slower since she has progressively gotten tired out trying to use different chip combinations to help. The end of the fight finally getting the coral off her face though it left a mark it was a victory.
Extra Fun Fact!- Since the boss battle takes place in the digital version of octo valley after every phase the background always changed to a different area when 8 super jumps to the boss kettle of that respective area
And when you finally defeat her it goes back to the Octo Valley. The music of the boss fight is probably like distorted remixes of the splat 1 bosses, boss music

"W-Wha?! H-Hey, H-Hang on a second! W-Whoa, J-Just a sec-MMPHRM?!" Looks like Felicia is in a bit of a pickle... what was supposed to be a routine cleaning turned into tentacles bursting out of the woodwork and coiling her up! In addition to the big fleshy pink penis tipped tentacles all pushing their way into her throat and butt, two tentacles topped with big ribbed ovipositors rose up in front of her, one poised to plunge into her pussy and the other rubbing against her cock. The sounds of Felicia's cries muffled by slimy, horny tenta-cocks and the sloppy sounds of girl on tentacle lovemaking echoed through the house, and judging by the slime pooling beneath her... she'd have a lot to clean up later!
Her balls and belly were soon growing obscenely large and bumpy with their new cargo as the ovi-tentacles worked overtime... whatever creature inhabited this house must've been stocking up! Can tentacles type...? Was she hired by... Bah. Felicia wasn't up for any thinking right now. She'd have painted the wall in front of her white if it wasnt for her cock being plugged right now!

Tentacle Temptation - A Seductively Slimy Christmas
Tumblr media
Something fell down the chimney and landed in my fireplace with a wet splat. I jumped back, crossing my arms over my chest. I stared into my fireplace for a second, trying to make out what was lying in the darkness. Was that a Santa hat? It looked like one, but this one was a bit different, its shape strangely warped. It was also sticky, a mucous coating drenching it.
A second later something long and sticky darted down the chimney. It was only there for a moment, snatched up the hat and was gone. In that second I felt a strange desire swirl within me. My nipples pressed hard against my forearms and I felt a moistness dribble from between my thighs. I crept towards the fireplace. As I got closer, I saw a pool of slime where the hat had been. Long strands of slime dangled down the chimney chute.
At that moment I knew that Santa Claus had skipped my house entirely. This year I was visited by Tenta Claus! In a flash it dawned on me what my gift was this year. My last minute naughtiness had paid off!
Excitement exploded within me. I grabbed my present and ran to the bedroom. Slime oozed from the bottom of the box, trickling over my arms and down my bare breasts. I plopped the present on my bed. The wrapping paper tore open on either side of the box and through each hole burst a tentacle, sending droplets of slime across my bedding and onto the floor. The tentacles reached to the bow and pulled it undone, then lifted the box’s lid. The four walls of my Christmas gift folded open revealing what was inside.

Mariana Municipal exclusive weapons are called the “Abyssal“ series, which is just slightly more powerful versions of the basic default weapons. They do have a cool design though, with glitter and neon on a black frame! Very sleek!
As well, there is the Mariana Municipal’s exclusive subs and specials, alongside familiar ones:
Manta Strike: Acts similar to Inkstorm and Tenta Missiles. The user slams down a device that calls upon a specialized Manta ray to float by and drop missiles along its path onto the field which will somewhat damage any enemies with ink for a short time.
Cephalo-Chomp: Similar to Kraken with the addition of the Maws in Salmon Run. The user drops down into the ink (they can still be attacked and hurt, as well as identified by a blinking signal above them) trailing ink behind them and can leap up and “Chomp“ down on an enemy. (when they are above the ink, they are easier to take out, like an Ultra Stamp)
Puff-Splosion: Like if Booyah Bomb and Splash Down were combined into one attack. The user puffs up with an intense amount of ink with the cheers of their teammates and “explodes”, making ink splash all around them in a limited radius. This explosion will also damage any enemies caught in the outer radius or instantly splat an enemy caught inside.
The returning Specials: Bomb Launcher, Ink Armor, Ink Jet, Baller.
The Subs:
Inkin’ Beakon: A modified beacon that spreads ink like a sprinkler for a few seconds upon initial planting. The beacon stays active, however, until the limited amount of uses are depleted. This makes it a bit more useful for beacon sub users.
The returning Subs: Ink Mine, Seeker, Burst Bomb, Suction Bomb, Splat Bomb, Splash Wall.

Valt Aoi✨

Custom Weapon Kits?
Custom weapon kits are one of, if not the most requested feature to be added to Splatoon. On the surface, this seems like a great idea, being able to pick and choose subs and specials to your liking surely would vastly increase weapon diversity. But it's just plain wrong.
Adding in complete custom weapon kits would actually vastly DECREASE weapon diversity.
Every one would play 52. Gal with Burst Bomb and Tenta Missiles. The meta would be permanently ruined day 1.
Every weapon would have a clear best kit. Every Hydra would have Ink mine/Big bubbler. Every Explosher would have Burst Bomb/Wave Breaker. There would be thousands of possible kits but you'd only see around 10 weapons at the highest level of play.
Even if every sub and special was balanced enough to warrant kit diversity, it would still be frustrating for players to go up against completely different threats every battle. Is that Splash-o-Matic running Crab Tank? Wave Breaker? Tenta Missiles? It's a gamble every time you get into a new match.
There's really only 1 realistic solution to this. Nerfing and buffing weapons based on what kit they have. e.g. Burst Bombs cost 20% more on the 52. Gal. But this is really inconsistent too. With regular custom kits, even though it'd be horrifyingly unbalanced, at least you know what every main, sub and special is capable of. But you'd have to keep in mind a thousand minor tweaks for every weapon to know what you're up against every time, even if the game is more balanced for it.
There are other fixes, like assigning a weight system to every kit component so you can't exceed a certain power level. But they are just as restrictive and overcomplicated.
I intend to bring about a new system, called the Starfish Class System!
What is the Starfish Class System?
The Starfish Class System is simple. Named after a starfish for its 5 classes. Subs and Specials are split into 5 classes, namely Power, Engage, Scout, Control and Support.
POWER weapons, such as the Splat Bomb and Crab Tank are hyper offensive weapons that focus on damage above all else.
ENGAGE weapons, such as the Burst Bomb and Ultra Stamp are flashy weapons that substitute damage for the ability to break through enemy lines and provide openings for your team.
SCOUT weapons, such as the Torpedo and Killer Wail 5.1 are high damage but difficult to hit attacks that displace enemies and provide information on their locations to your team.
CONTROL weapons such as the TOXIC SPRINKLER (more info later) and the Wave Breaker are low damage weapons that aim to take control of and defend areas.
Finally, SUPPORT weapons such as the Squid Beakon and Big Bubbler are purely defensive weapons that give tempo to your team-mates by protecting and empowering them.
You might've noticed the Toxic Sprinkler, a new sub weapon I designed, back there. In my mind I envision 3 sub weapons and 4 special weapons in every class. Those of us reading who can multiply know that there aren't enough weapons int he game to fill up those numbers. So I designed and tweaked ~20 new and existing subs and specials. POWER:
Splat Bomb, Suction Bomb, Fizzy Bomb
Trizooka, Ink Jet, Crab Tank, Silly Slapper
ENGAGE:
Burst Bomb, Curling Bomb, Bubble Wand
Kraken, Ultra Stamp, Zipcaster, Reefslider
SCOUT:
Bowling Bomb, Torpedo, Highlighter
Killer Wail 5.1, Tenta Missiles, Booyah Bomb, Countdown Rocket
CONTROL:
Sensor Bomb, Toxic Sprinkler, Ink Wire
Triple Inkstrike, Ink Storm, Wave Breaker, Ink Fridge
SUPPORT:
Splash Wall, Squid Beakon, Sponge Eraser
Big Bubbler, Ink Vac, Tacticooler, Super Scrubber *new weapon names are subject to change.
EXPLANATIONS:
Any weapons NOT mentioned here are unchanged mechanically. Of course, their stats would still be adjusted, but they mechanically stay the same.
SUCTION BOMB:
The Suction Bomb can now stick to enemies! If you land it perfectly on an enemy, it will suction to them. The timer for the Suction Bomb to pop starts when it attaches to an enemy, but you can shake the controller, jump and move the L and R sticks around to defuse it.
TRIZOOKA:
The Trizooka now has R button functionality! Pressing R with at least 1 shot remaining makes the Trizooka explode! It deals lethal damage to anyone close to you and flings you into the air.
INK JET:
The Ink Jet also has R button functionality! Pressing R moving causes you to dash in the direction the L stick is pointed in, similar to a dodge roll.
SILLY SLAPPER:
The Silly Slapper is the first new special weapon! It's based on a slap bracelet. Activating the special wraps a slap bracelet around you. This acts as a shield, giving you bonus health. Pressing ZR launches the bracelet forward, making you temporarily lose your bonus health. If the bracelet collides with an enemy, it grabs and pulls them towards you! (The grabbed enemy takes damage, but is immune to further damage and cannot act while being pulled) Finally, holding down L makes you fall on your side and roll around in the Silly Slapper, even allowing you to climb up walls.
CURLING BOMB:
The Curling bomb now ripples ink out of its sides, doubling its inking power and making it much easier to follow.
BUBBLE WAND:
The Bubble Wand is a reworked Bubbler Blower! Press R to enter a slow animation where you blow a bubble the size of an inkling. It bounces forward and inks the ground behind it at a rate that's slightly faster than the average inkling run speed, allowing you to play around it. The bubble itself doesn't get bigger or smaller, just popping and dealing lethal damage to nearby enemies once you deal 100 damage to it, or dissipating once an enemy deals 100 damage to it.
KRAKEN:
The Kraken is back! It's functionally identical to its appearance in Splatoon 1, but it now has 300 health instead of being invincible. Unlike the Crab Tank, you can actually swap between Kid and Swim form with the Kraken, both of which having a shared 300 health that does not recover. The Kraken can also use the Squid Surge and Squid Roll abilities. Finally the Kraken is affected by swim speed modifiers, except for Ninja Squid's debuff.
REEFSLIDER:
Tilting the L stick in a direction during the Reefslider explosion now launches you a short distance in that direction.
BOWLING BOMB:
The Bowling Bomb is a combination of the Baller and the Autobomb. Picture an Autobomb rolling around in a hamster ball! The Bowling Bomb is thrown underhand like the curling bomb. If no enemies are nearby it simply explodes at the point it landed on. The Bowling Bomb sticks onto surfaces, and tracks enemies. It can even follow them up walls and grates! It leaves behind a very thin trail of ink, technically capable of being followed in swim form, but very difficult to perform once it starts turning.
HIGHLIGHTER:
The Highlighter is a reworked Angle Shooter! It is the same except for one change. Previously, upon hitting a wall the Highlighter would deflect at an angle equal to the angle it hit the surface at. Now, if an enemy is in its range, it will instead deflect straight at them.
TENTA MISSILES:
The Tenta Missiles can now only be used on targets damaged by you. Once you deal any form of damage to an enemy or Rainmaker Shield through your Main or Sub weapon, you can use Tenta Missiles to send 8 missiles towards all targets you've damaged. If you activate the special and no enemies have been previously damaged by you, there will be no targets to select and it immediately deactivates. Tenta Missiles now has much less end lag after firing the missiles. This forces Tenta Missiles users to become proactive in fights.
COUNTDOWN ROCKET:
The Countdown Rocket is a firework rocket with a wrist watch wrapped around it! Activating the special causes you to hop onto it as it flies directly up! While it's flying upwards, the clock starts ticking and nearby enemies are highlighted (similar to Tenta Missiles and Killer Wail 5.1). Once you face an enemy, pressing ZR causes you to kick the rocket towards them as you plummet to the ground. If you don't press ZR before it reaches its max height and the clock rings, it explodes mid-air, causing lots ink shrapnel to fall to the ground below as you drop (similar to the Torpedo).
SENSOR BOMB:
The Sensor Bomb is a combination of the Point Sensor and Ink Mine! Pressing R in kid form causes you to throw the Sensor Bomb, exploding after a short delay, dealing minimal damage and marking enemies caught in the blast. Pressing R in swim form causes you to plant an Ink Mine instead!
TOXIC SPRINKLER:
The Toxic Sprinkler is a combination of the Toxic Mist and the Sprinkler! Pressing R deploys the Toxic Sprinkler. Once it shoots in on a spot of ground, Toxic Mist will form above the ink that will not decay even if the ink is covered. The mist only disappears once you destroy the Toxic Sprinkler. It has health comparable to the splash Wall.
INK WIRE:
The First completely new Sub weapon! Similar to the Ink Mine, the Ink Wire can be set on allied ink. It is barely visible as it lays on top of your ink, and remains if enemy ink covers it. (though it becomes more visible once enemies ink over it) If an enemy walks through or jumps over the Ink Wire they become marked and given the Toxic Mist debuff for a few seconds.
INK STORM:
The Ink Storm now has much lower damage over time! Now, once enemies have less than 15 health in the storm, they are instantly executed by a lightning bolt coming from the cloud above. This encourages Ink Storm users to force fights in the storm rather than just setting and forgetting.
INK FRIDGE:
The Ink Fridge a mini-fridge that spews frozen mist! Deploying it causes all allied and enemy in a radius around it to freeze up. You can still paint over ink, but instead of taking slowing down in enemy ink, all players now slip on opposing ink! The control you have over your character while on frozen ink is increased by ink resistance.
SQUID BEAKON:
Squid Beakons now mark enemies who get close to them.
SPONGE ERASER:
The Sponge Eraser is half sponge, half whiteboard eraser. It sticks to all surfaces once thrown, and allies can pick it up and stick it on themselves by walking nearing it. After a couple seconds, the Sponge Eraser explodes and leaves static in a sphere around it, absorbing up to 150 damage from projectiles.
SUPER SCRUBBER:
The Super Scrubber is a big rotating car wash sponge. Enemy ink is deflected by it, and when allies make contact with it, they are healed to full health, lose the effects of any enemy status condition (Haunt, Thermal Ink, Marked and Toxic Mist), and are launched away by the force of the spinning sponge!
*All new weapon mechanics are subject to change!
NOW WHAT?
Now that all the explanations are out of the way. Lets describe how the Starfish Class System works. Essentially, every weapon kit gets a class prescribed for it.
For example, the Splattershot would have POWER/POWER as its kit. When you use the Splattershot, it can have any POWER sub weapon, and any POWER special weapon.
It could have Splat Bomb/Crab Tank, Fizzy Bomb/Silly Slapper, Suction Bomb/Inkjet and more! But the important part is that no matter what combination it has, you know what the Splattershot's role is and what it generally can do.
It also makes sure other variants of weapons will play a different role and feel different no matter what kit you choose for it. The Tentatek Splattershot could have SCOUT/ENGAGE as its classes for example, instantly making it unique compared to the Vanilla Splattershot.
Finally, this makes balancing a whole lot easier on the developers end while still allowing a whole lot of customisation on the players end. Of course, some weapons will still prefer 1 kit over any other. Ballpoint players will naturally gravitate towards Squid Beakon, and Carbon Roller players will gravitate towards the Carbon Roller with the ENGAGE class for Burst Bombs. But if executed well, the limited choices of combinations would lead to a lot of diversity in what weapons see play.
Please forgive any spelling or grammar errors. I wrote this in a haze. Thanks for reading this far, please tell me your thoughts?

Weapon Predictions Part 6 - Dualies
One of my favorite weapon classes! Dualies are such versatile and fun weapons to use with so many options for how you might want to play. This blog after all is based on my love for Gloogas! Time to get spicy.
Enperry Splat Dualies
Tumblr media
For the classic Splat Dualies, I had Burst Bomb make a comeback and as much as I'd love for Tenta Missiles to return too, I just don't see it happening with such an easy to use main. Notice how so far the kits with Missiles are.. rather weird. It's clear they're trying very hard to cut down on the missile spam and unfortunately the Splat Dualies are just too.. good to get them back. (Feel free to surprise me though, Nintendo)
Custom Dualie Squelchers
Tumblr media
My partner's old main!!! They haven't been using them much in S3 because they miss Ink Storm. So here's what I propose: Suction Bomb (since Splat Bomb is obviously not an option) with good ol' Ink Storm. Just like before, Ink Storm makes for great chip damage, area denial, and spacing but as a tradeoff, Suction Bomb hinders an already sub-par ink efficiency. I could also see Auto Bombs working well here but I wanted a bomb that more or less stayed in place like a Splat Bomb.
Light Tetra Dualies
Tumblr media
For these, I wanted to sort of call back to the Enperries of S2 with Curling Bomb, while also utilizing a newer and uncommon special. I think these would give adequate support for teammates looking to start a push on the enemy.
Glooga Dualies Deco
Tumblr media
I went out of order here to save the best for last! I've already talked about potential kits on this blog for Gloogas a couple times so I'll try to keep this brief. As I've stated before, the devs seem to be merging Kensa kits with others for Splatoon 3, particularly the subs. As such I don't think it's too farfetched to see Gloogas reunite with Fizzy Bombs in the future. Additionally, either a return to Ink Jet OR Kraken taking the place of both Baller and Ink Armor would greatly benefit the underused Gloogas.
I'll stop there, or I'm gonna ramble. Next will be Brellas!

Okay, little late to the party here, sure, but thought I'd give my thoughts on this. I've been to the ROM before, thought that they were closed down to finally fix that giant ramen bowl that went off axis a few months ago after that earthquake. Nope, they were turning it into an arena.
...Let the record show they did also fix the ramen bowl.
Chirpy Chips is back, I know someone who's going to be over the goddamn moon about that. I feel like the Harmony branding was a little heavy in the video? Like...there's other people in the band guys come on, they run a store and suddenly they're goddamn royalty?
SO fucking glad to see Bluefin back in circulation. Never got to play it obviously (only really got to start playing post-special de-recall), but I always thought it was a sick as hell map. Can't wait to see what changes they make to it. I see elevators, that's pretty cool. Only really see that in Salmon Run and (sorry) Saltspray.
Okay now for what I actually goddamn care about and what the two people (probably not even that) that follow me follow me for: weapon shit
No new weapons hey what the fuck's with that
At least none I saw? Usually these guys are chomping at the bit to show us brand new shit, there was the Dread Wringer and the Heavy Edit I forgot to talk about last time that were both sick as hell, maybe I'll make a post about them later.
There's some new kits? I can't be fucked to figure out what's what, friend tells me that the new S-Blast has goddamn Burst Bomb which is HUGE if true
But that's not the big thing here the big thing here is the
Splattercolor Screen
This thing kinda scares me, and not really in the way it'll affect the meta. It seems like another HP special shield. Like a fuckin' souped up Tenta Brella. As if the Tenta Brella shield isn't souped up enough already, but hey that's why it's a special.
No, what terrifies me is what it does to your goddamn EYES-
how the hell does it do that how the hell is this legal how the hell is this legal and my weapon mods aren't
fuck you squidforce fuck you squidforce fuck you squidforce this is going to be Kraken v1 all over again mark my fucking words
accept my fucking mod prints you cowards

What each of the Mario+Rabbids: Sparks of Hope characters would main in Splatoon 3
Tumblr media
Mario: Glooga Dualies (high power; Booyah Bomb is the best fit for specials because Mario excels at attacking from the air with stomping and aerial shots)
Luigi: Tri-Stringer (high range makes it great for sniping, Killer Wail 5.1 has even more range)
Bowser: Range Blaster (makes big blast from far away like the Bowzooka)
Peach: Undercover Brella (a lightweight Brella for a lightweight princess; non-launching canopy means constant protection)
Edge: Splatana Wiper Deco (swords are already her thing; I feel like she can fuck people up with Tenta Missiles)
Rabbid Luigi: Aerospray RG (high turfing power+sprinklers everywhere+Booyah Bomb spam=prime messing-with-people weapon). Also likes the Inkbrush Nouveau (high speed for zipping past enemies, Ink Mines for taking them by surprise, and Ultra Stamp for bursting onto the scene)
Rabbid Mario: Dynamo Roller (the big daddy of high-damage melee weapons)
Rabbid Rosalina: Zink Mini Splatling (fires in the same way as the Kaboomer, Toxic Mist slows people down, Big Bubbler works best when the user doesn't move, which Rabbid Rosalina doesn't like to do anyway)
Rabbid Peach: H-3 Nozzlenose (shots come in threes; high damage; comes with the Tacticooler for support)
