Okay, so- I have this Sander Sides AU that I've had for a long while now. And I think it would be neat to share it with you. I might also make several posts about it. So let me introduce you to:

Sanders Switched is an AU in which the sides' "roles" are switched around. To elaborate, their function (Logan as logic, Patton as morality, ect.) remains the same. Thomas' perception of them is what changes. So where Logan is the voice of reason in canon, another side would take his place. Here's all the sides in Sanders Switched:

Janus: Janus takes the role of Patton as the kind authority figure. He's seen as Thomas' self-preservation and always puts his safety and well-being above all else. He's a sort of motherly figure to the other sides, constantly caring about their well-being and acting as if he's older than them. He's much sweeter than OG Janus, but he still has a sassy side, and lives for gossip.

Remus: Remus takes Roman's role as Thomas' source of inspiration. He is seen as Thomas' comedic side and encourages Thomas to have as much fun as possible. Rather than being a Duke, he presents as a jester. He has issues with his impulsivity, and his jokes tend to be morbid and often mean, but he's overall harmless and much more tame than OG Remus.

The Orange Side: Obviously, I can't say exactly what the Orange Side will be, since we haven't been introduced to him yet. But based off what we do know, I place him in Logan's role as the voice of reason. Assuming he represents wrath of some sort--which is impossible not to believe at this point--he would probably be seen as Thomas' motivation, pushing him to get his work done.

Roman: Most people would probably switch Roman and Remus and make Remus, "good creativity," and Roman, "bad creativity." BUT YOU KNOW WHAT? I'M COMPLICATED AND UNIQUE. So Roman takes the place of Virgil as the original, "antagonist." He is seen as Thomas' pride that pushes delusions that keep Thomas from growing as a person. He arrogant and rude, and claims he is a King rather than a Prince. Because of this, none of the sides really like him at all, with the exception of Janus. But near the end of season one, we discover that Roman only really wanted Thomas to achieve his dreams, and that most of his cockiness hid his secret insecurities. And after Thomas and the other sides realize how important he is, Roman is officially accepted as part of the group.

Patton: Patton takes the role of Janus as the antagonist to all of Thomas' beliefs and the possible leader of the dark sides. He is seen as Thomas' overbearing moral code that constantly tries push harsh rules rooted in Catholic Christianity onto Thomas and the other sides. He is extremely passive aggressive and overly judgmental towards the sides he deems, "wrong." Almost everything he says is a critisism of something Thomas or the other sides do. Despite being so harsh however, he loves puns and making jokes just as much the OG Patton, and loves to torture Logan with his puns.

Logan: Logan takes Remus' place as the bad influence Thomas tries to ignore. He is seen as Thomas' inner critique who judges Thomas for everything he does. He insists that Thomas' lifestyle is, "childish," and that he should abandon it for a, "mature," way of living so that he can live, "a normal, healthy life." He is extremely judgmental and criticizes all the sides for the smallest of details, making everyone hate him, even Janus. Despite this, he generally harmless, and he can easily be ignored.

Virgil: Virgil takes the Orange Side's place as the mysterious secret side that the fandom makes a million theories about. I can't fully explain who he would be, since, again, we haven't been introduced to the Orange Side yet. But for now, he still represents Thomas' anxiety. And when he reveals himself, he will call Thomas and all the sides out on their BS.

That's all for now. It isn't fully developed, and things will surely change when the Orange Side finally does reveal himself. But there's still a lot of things I would like to share. So please let me know if you want know more!

ok so, au idea so like

Janus is this lil prick who thinks people are just there to satisfy him and once he doesn't like it anymore he breaks up with them and move on to a new victim. Keep in mind in every single stage except kinda the first one in the relationship does not once even think about their emotions at all.

Now Janus had just broken up with Logan, and he is not happy about it, like he is sobbing hard. But then he realized the more he thought about him the more red flags started to reveal themselves, he realized Janus wasn't a good person, and with their sour break up. Logan wanted revenge, he was to make Janus' life miserable.

He does some digging and found that he had 4 boyfriends before him, further investigation found that just a day after Janus breaks up with one, he's now officially dating the next, even with Logan. The day after he broke up with Virgil Blackwood, is when he officially got together with Logan, and the day after his break up, he got together with some stupid guy named Cronus.

Logan then contacts the previous boyfriends, and together they team up to make Janus' life a living hell, though Patton took a passives route and stayed out of it he did help with some funding.

Redesign 9: Magnus (Orange Side) {Can’t wait for the next update to make me feel stupid about my naming decisions}

Magnus has always had a solid design, just untied the tie, he wouldn’t wear it tied, he’s a scruffy boy with attitude

Magnus is tough to explain, he shares a body with Logan, but is very different from him. He was close to Romulus but obviously that isn’t working out so great for him. He isn’t that much of a fan of the twins. Despite their differences, he does get along with Logan, and will jump in to defend them both.

"Be careful," Logan tells Virgil, his blue eyes solemn over his coffee cup. Virgil swallows hard as he nods. It's so different from their usual morning banter, but he knows why.

There was a sabotage last night. The lights went out, and at first, everyone assumed that the wires had just gone to shit again (they were rather shoddy). Until Roman discovered someone had cut them.

There's an impostor on their ship.

At least one. And that's the scary thing, because impostors don't tend to hang solo. Virgil's fingers tremble as he picks up his helmet and settles it firmly on his head, sealing away sweaty purple hair and anxious green eyes.

A klaxon rings. Meeting time. It's Roman again, his eyes wild and shadows bruised into his face. He looks like he hasn't slept in a week.

"What are we gonna do?" Roman demands. Virgil shrinks behind Janus and Logan, the tremble in his fingertips worse. "There's an impostor among us," Roman continues.

"There is," Janus acknowledges. "Do you have any idea who?"

"No one was on the cameras last night," Roman admits. "Security was locked."

"I didn't see a thing," Patton says. "I was eye-solated in O2 for hours."

"I'm afraid that I was busy with my Medbay scan," Logan tells the group.

"Face it," Janus continues. "No one cared to investigate for half an hour because we all assumed Skeld boned itself again. Why were you so gung ho to check it out?"

"Yeah, why is that, bro?" Remus chimes in.

"Because it was fucking dark," Roman exclaims. "Are you seriously trying to insinuate that I'm the impostor?"

"You could be," Remus challenges. His eyes glitter in the light as Roman huffs a disbelieving breath. Orange snorts a laugh at the look on Roman's face.

"Well, I'm not," he declares, whirling on Virgil. "You're awfully quiet. Guilty conscience?"

"No!" Virgil says, shrinking into himself. "I- I was in Weapons, do- doing my shift, I- I wouldn't-"

"Before I went to Medbay, I did see him there," Logan says. Virgil shoots his boyfriend a grateful look.

"I did, too," Remus says. "You're awfully quick to point the finger there, Ro Bro."

"It was just-" Roman deflates and sighs. If he could run a hand through his hair, he would have. "Just be careful," he says, as he readies ending the meeting.

"Wait," Logan says. "We should stay in groups as we do our tasks today. If we are grouped up, it will be more difficult for an impostor to strike without being seen, whether they choose to sabotage or..." He trails off, but they all know what he means. Murder.

"Fine," Roman says, waving a careless hand. "We stay in groups."

And the meeting draws to a reluctant close.

Virgil heaves a silent breath of relief, unsure why two people stuck up for him, but not about to question it. He did spend time in Weapons doing his shift, that's true-

But it doesn't take long to vent over to Electrical and do a little bit of sabotage, does it?

He didn't expect this level of reaction, though. He just- well, he's not really sure what he wanted from it, since he wasn't exactly prepared to off the next crewmate who wandered into Electrical. He'd actually hightailed it back to Weapons in the dark, his superior night vision letting him dodge the crew, shaking with a rush of adrenaline.

Virgil isn't cut out to be an impostor, if he's honest with himself.

Luckily for him, his partner is.

Logan rants to him at lunch, waving a fork around and stabbing the air like it has personally offended him.

"No one took my advice but you and Patton!" He exclaims. "It's like they're trying to become impostor chow!"

"Maybe they're just..." Virgil trails off, not sure how to finish that statement. He himself is surprised at the lax security most of the crew seem to be employing.

"Hey, can I hang out with you this afternoon?" Orange asks, as they finish up. Everyone else has long since finished. Logan's eyes widen in surprised appreciation.

"Of course," Logan says. Virgil swallows, thrumming with energy under his suit. The knife strapped to the inside of his suit feels very big and very sharp all of a sudden. If Logan turns his back for long enough...

They are in Electrical again when the O2 sabotage goes off, alarms blaring through the ship. Virgil tucks away a little button pad in the pocket of his suit, his fingers shaking. He looks up just in time to see Logan snap Orange's neck. It sounds like a brittle branch being stepped on.

"There you are, love," Logan says, smiling gently at him. "Help me stow away his body, would you? If we do it fast enough, we should be able to help with the sabotage. Come from a different angle. You know."

Virgil surges up on tiptoe, pulling their helmets up to kiss Logan fiercely on the mouth.

"Thanks, babe," he says. "You know how I get."

"I do," Logan says. "Don't worry. No one saw us leave with Orange. I think we can easily pin this on Roman."

Virgil grins, his teeth sharp. The klaxons blare.

"Let's go," he says.

Egotober 2023 Day 14: Relative Time

Summary: Logan knew lots of things. That the world was unfair, that things didn’t work out the way he wanted them to, and that five years was a very long time.

A/N: We get a prisoner two-fer special. One today and Yancy’s visitation Day tomorrow.

Logan’s brother is Orange, I am calling him Dante here. It may be subject to change any time I feel like it, or when we learn Orange’s name.

Four years. Four months. twenty-two days.

That’s how long Logan had before he could pick up brother, and Logan was certainly counting. He had a clock timer in the bedroom he had shared with his brother, a little paper manual flip timer in the kitchen to make himself feel better, and then the one on his phone.

His older half-brother, older by almost ten whole years, had always been there for him. Their mom had never been around and then when Logan was almost thirteen their father just didn’t come home after work. Leaving Logan and his brother alone.

To this day Logan had no idea what had actually happened to him. If he had just abandoned them, or if the various gangs and enemies he’d had run-ins with had done him in. The end was the same, and honestly Logan wasn’t ready to actually go looking yet.

But today was very important for Logan, he was taking the bus down to the correction center to visit his brother. He did it every month like clockwork and it made him feel less hopeless.

Logan made sure that he didn’t have anything dangerous on him before leaving and got there right on time like always. He had to be, he couldn’t emotionally afford to be late.

Once there he went through his usual routine, went into the little visitor’s side, checked in his bag and agreed to get searched, and then waited on one side of the visitation area.

It took a bit for his brother to come out in his orange jumpsuit. There were guards all around the room and Logan was not the only person visiting someone. But Logan did his best to pretend.

“Hey,” Logan said. “Dante.”

“Sup,” his brother said. He had a new little scar over his eyes and Logan was terrified of losing him.

“What happened?” Logan asked.

“Relax, it’s nothing big,” Dante said. “How’s school?”

“It’s,” Logan faltered, trying to be normal about this but he couldn’t. His brother shouldn’t be . . . no he couldn’t think like that here. “It’s fine.”

“Good grades?” Dante said, a hint of pride to his voice.

“Yeah, if I keep going I’ll be valedictorian of my year,” Logan said.

“Good,” Dante said.

“I miss you,” Logan said.

“I know,” Dante said. “Don’t it’ll make it harder. Time moves slower when you want something. Focus on your schooling, and you know where to go if you need anything right?”

Logan nodded. His brother was talking about one of his brother’s old friends who was essentially helping Logan by finding him a job and keeping him living in the apartment. “Yeah, Jan found me a job at his restaurant.”

“Good, should be enough,” Dante said. “Make sure you take care of yourself, don’t get in with the wrong crowd.”

Logan wanted to make a joke but he just couldn’t. “I might have found some apprenticeship for college.”

That got a bit more of his brother’s interest. “Really? With who?”

“Optical Engineering and Robotics,” Logan said, it was Bing’s civilian front. Well known for just giving internships to normal people and then passing them off to college. Logan working with Bing’s little engineering company was to be expected.

“Huh,” Dante said. “Well, you’re smart. Figures someone would see how smart you are.”

Logan smiled.

They would get to talk just a little bit more before his brother had to go. Logan couldn’t stay and that was how things worked.

Time moved on for Logan. Maybe Bing had something for him to do to take his mind off things. He’d try and take his mind off things until next month.
