just as the title says. i've decided to finally open up about this, after weeks of processing my traumas with my support system, & after listening to other (ex-)mutuals of Biel's who've experienced or witnessed similar patterns of behaviour (most prominently grooming) from her over the years. i write this post as both a warning for other survivors who know Biel about her actions towards me & others, & also as me standing up publicly for the first time ever about the predatory foundation of our 10 year long friendship that I was too scared, passive & inexperienced to be able to talk openly about until now.

hey i dont wanna derail on ur post on the comparisons of the Qohelet translation but the Good News Translation isn't rlly a commonly used translation? More common ones are by anglophone Xians in general are the KJV, NKJV, NIV, and the NLT; pastors tend to use the KJV, NKJV, NIV, ASV, and NASB; and scholarship tends to lean towards the RSV and NRSV, and in my experience with these translations amongst others they seem to more closely resemble the translation provided by Chabad?

So, I assumed at first that I was looking at the KJV or NKJV, because those are the ones I thought are most used. I had never even heard of the GNT/GNB. So, I looked it up, because I had the same concern regarding if it was a common translation or not. Apparently, it’s a popular translation that’s been endorsed both by Protestant denominations and the Roman Catholic Church. It was also at one point the most popular versions of the Christian Bible in Britain for a time. 

Although, I did try to make it explicit by stating “it’s the Good News Translation which is endorsed by both Protestant denominations and the Catholic Church,” I most definitely could have made it more obvious that this translation is not used by ALL Christians (in the world and in Western Christianity), and it retrospect I probably should have. (I’m going to to go back and stick an ETA in my post to try to make it more explicit.)
