Fire Cider Recipe 2
Instant Fire Cider
2/3 cup raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup chopped fresh pineapple*, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 (2-inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled
1 (1-inch) piece fresh horseradish root*, peeled (optional)
1 large clove garlic, peeled
1/4 small lime (peel included if organic // 1/4 small lime is ~20 g)
1 ½ Tbsp honey (raw, local preferred // if vegan, sub maple syrup or agave)
1/2-3/4 tsp ground turmeric*
1 pinch ground black pepper
1/8 tsp ground cayenne
Instructions
Wash and prep your fresh produce (pineapple, ginger, garlic, and lime).
To a high-speed blender, add all ingredients (apple cider vinegar, pineapple, ginger, horseradish (optional), garlic, lime, honey, turmeric*, black pepper, and cayenne). Blend on high for 30-45 seconds or until there are no large pieces remaining. If you don’t have a powerful blender, this may take longer. Pour through a fine mesh strainer into a measuring glass or bowl, using the back of a wooden spoon to squish and stir the pulp so all of the liquid comes through. Discard the leftover pulp. You should now have a lovely orange-colored tonic with no lumps. Taste and adjust as needed, adding more honey for sweetness, turmeric for earthiness, or cayenne for heat — it should be potent!
Drink as desired. Take as a spoonful before meals for stimulating digestion. You can also add it to salad dressings, marinades, or cocktails, or make mocktails by adding to sparkling water.
Store in a glass bottle or jar in the refrigerator for up to 4-6 weeks. Separation is normal — give it a shake before serving
Horseradish is a traditional ingredient in Fire Cider, but it can be tricky to get at the grocery store (it’s in the produce section). We like the “fiery” quality horseradish root adds, but the tonic is still potent and delicious without it. Another option is to sub 1/4 – 1/2 tsp wasabi paste.

News had a section on the issues of agave farming, how rising demand gets them prematurely harvested without being able to flower, more monocultures and loss of genetic diversity in the plants. To no one's surprise, the reason is increasing tequila consumption in Europe and agave syrup wasn't mentioned even once. And while we're at it, blaming rich vegans in particular for agave syrup consumption makes no sense anyway, as organic agave syrup is in the lower price range of the honey sortiment at the stores I checked.
I’ve found that when it comes to misinformation, it doesn’t actually matter how visible or readily available the truth is. They choose a narrative that fits their existing views based on whatever clickbait article they’ve stumbled on, and it takes an enormous amount of counter-information to force them to let the fallacy go.
Even when they do let it go, they move on to the next thing before circling back. We debunked the quinoa thing five years ago, then it was agave, then soy, then plastic. Now we’re talking about agave again, as if this wasn’t already widely debunked. Anything to avoid talking about the actual issues. It’s the same with climate denial, it’s a constant battle to address misinformation, and every victory is unfortunately only temporary.

Madam is so overexposed I know more about her cooking/dietary habits than I could ever want to by u/Training-Jello7600
Madam is so overexposed I know more about her cooking/dietary habits than I could ever want to Wannabe foodie Meghan is my favorite of all her eras. It was right before Harry; she was desperately looking for her third (fourth? fifth?) act and sleeping her way into the Toronto food scene and writing some of the most godawful prose ever committed to page on that blog. I enjoy seeing someone so basic and cringe attempt to pivot from a lackluster acting career into an even more lackluster career as a foodie guru influencer.(As a side note, it’s telling and ironic that the most successful and uplifting content of her life was the “Together” cookbook, made when she was a working royal. Looks like the Palace knows what they are doing after all!)In honor of foodie Meghan, and in anticipation of whatever she’s about to unleash on us on her Instagram if it ever does indeed launch, I’ve compiled a perfect day of eating for the Meg.Breakfast:- For madam: After barking at her maids to clean up the broken crockery from the night before, she tucks into “A cup of hot water and a slice of lemon, followed by her favourite breakfast of steel-cut oats (usually made with almond or soy milk) with bananas and agave syrup for sweetness” (a line from the Pulitzer-winning “Finding Freedom”)For the three children (Todger Cream included): First a serving of inspirational bananas with messages such as “stay strong” (they’re gonna need it in that household!) on the peel. Then organic waffles on the Queen’s waffle maker. It’s shocking we don’t know the brand and that it hasn’t been merched yet, but there’s always time.Lunch:- A “mean bolognese” (Megain’s words), most likely Chef Corey’s recipe but repurposed for ensnaring Harry, who was impressed with her apparently amazing use of spicesFor the kids: In-N-Out milkshakes because she’s a cool relatable young mother of littlesSnack:- For the kids: Quesadillas served in a poverty backpack for the unhousedFor the man child: Vegetables from the garden and try-hard jam with Etsy labels that they haven’t been able to foist onto more unfortunate journos For Madam: A Clevr SuperLatte with a foam of trace lead and other earth metalsDinner:- Sushi appetizer for her while Harry sulks that there isn’t a steak option. He whines so much that she whips up her signature invisi-tacos a la Michelle Obama and puts Nando’s Peri-Peri sauce on them to remind him of the time she ate a three course meal while also on an epidural/bouncing on an exercise ball at the same timeAn engagement roast chicken for the main; Ina still hasn’t called but she’s holding out hope for a collabSome plant-based/pretentious sides with the latest pseudoscientific healthy merchable ingredients That f*cking lemon olive oil cake made with lemons from her trees (that if I hear about one more time I’m going to explode)Several bottles of Tignanello, our Saint’s ambrosia of enlightenment Late Night Snack:- Ozempic a la modeThere you have it! Let me know if I missed any of our Saint’s favorites. post link: https://ift.tt/mFKz8Ms author: Training-Jello7600 submitted: January 12, 2024 at 09:24PM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit

grocery list time~
literally just get these things if you want a vegan low cal life, because you can control portions and make things you enjoy eating with less calories- i made some example recipes under the list:
coffee.
SPICES. please make the investment into SPICES!
->continuation of spices, heres a basic list- cocoa powder, cinnamon, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, veggie bouillon powder/cubes, salt, pepper, lemon pepper, etc (you can find more online but please dont forget it)
->and simple sauces like soy sauce, basic hot sauce, mustard, white vinegar, apple cider vinegar, etc.
stevia or agave fruit sweetener. (please make sure whatever you choose you dont buy any sweetener with aspartame!!)
dairy free yogurt (i’ve heard coconut is good)
dairy free butter (earthbalance is my fav by far)
-> you could also make due with olive oil (cooking)
1st milk for normal stuff- unsweet cashew milk or unsweet creamy almond milk
->2nd milk for cooking- i suggest soymilk but creamy coconutmilk works good too
tofu. extra firm and silky work for different things (meat substitutes, egg substitute, diff. milk products substitutes) get either/both
carrots, mushrooms, chickpeas, and cauliflower all make good meat substitutes (bacon, chicken nuggets, pulled pork, etc) if cooked properly
OATS! plain oats are soooo versatile (used as flour, cereal, granola, crust, etc)
ricecakes (i use it as replacement for toast)
Pumpkin or sweet potato (in NO SYRUP canned form, very good for cooking low cal desserts or protein bars)
apple sauce (used for cooking and just yum- can be an egg substitute)
low cal noodle types- chickpea, edamame, shirataki, konjac, cauliflower, zucchini, spaghetti squash, and i think miracle noodle
literally any and all veggies and fruits- but a reminder of basics are broccoli, cucumber, onions, spinach, beets, eggplant, tomato, zucchini, potato, apple, banana, grapes, oranges, pineapple, strawberries, watermelon, mango, etc
WARNING ⚠️ be careful of sugar free drink flavor packets as they contain aspartame and other strange ingredients that ppl have complained of side effects- i would suggest to steer clear of many of the packets and go for a large unsweetened lemonade or fruit punch bin of flavoring so you can make it yourself. please check ingredients for health reasons.
-> HOWEVER, drinks like olipop, simple truth organic, waterloo, and zevia all have flavored water/sparkling water/cola drinks that are aspartame free.
I highlighted things that i think are really important
Veggie dip: yogurt, seasoning spices (ranch seasoning is goated), and a tbsp or lemon or soysauc, all mixed and best used as a “veggie chip” dip, like baked cucumber chips
Literally any cake/protein bar: oats blended, protein powder, 1/2cup apple sauce OR mashed banana, some milk, and whatever toppings you like
Granola: oats, chia seeds, cut up fruit pieces, and maple syrup or honey for binding. mix in bag, bake on baking sheet on pan.
Hot n sour soup: you can use hot n sour packet or make veggie bouillon and add hot sauce, soy sauce, and tsp chili powder. Then (to whichever mix you’ve made) add egg mixing around, and then add extra firm tofu in little cubes. Let the soup mix well and set a little while cooling.
Nicecream: freeze banana. add banana, tbsp of milk, 2 tbsp of yogurt, tbsp of sweetener, and a fruit of choice (a tbsp of protein powder also will help). blend with blender and then let it sit for a minute- add whatever you want on top
my best “toast”: seasalt ricecake, spread 1tbsp vegan cream cheese, and then spread 1.5 tbsp of organic raspberry jelly.

We may be throwing caution to the wind with our podcast episode themed cocktails, but I am a margarita girl in my soul but it’s gotta be super specific: only fresh lime juice, never sweet and sour mix, organic blanco tequila always because everything else gives me a grey matter curdling hangover, Tajin not salt, and if there is hibiscus or prickly pear syrup in the house, I want some of that. Dab of simple syrup but agave syrup is preferred. It should be sour enough to make my leg hairs stand up. Sometimes I like heat so a few slices of muddled jalapeño is a pleasant variant. It above all, a lemon should never come near and “sour as fuck” is a compliment.
I came of age drinking shitty J. Pepe’s margaritas on lower Greenville (oh the fucking raunchy tales I could tell—( hello Bear, I hope Sturgis was nice without me) and I assumed they were all shitty and violently hangover inducing, but a few years later I had a margarita epiphany. My excellent bf Jimmy Cao rented a convertible and we drove from Houston to San Diego, then all the way up the 101 to San Francisco. Stopping in Las Cruces, across from @billythekidgiftshop and jail, at the recommendation of another excellent ex bf, we ate at the Double Eagle steakhouse and I had my first real margarita. I’ve been chasing that high for decades. That night after dinner we drove up into the hills to stargaze and Jimmy hit a skunk. It wasn’t quite dead so I made him take us to a 24 emergency vet and we went back to the Best Western and had Ethel Merman sex in the pool. In the morning I ate my first and best huevos rancheros of my lifetime and that’s a ghost I will never meet again. True love in the desert, a dome of stars that made me sob, an injured skunk, and the perfect margarita. And a really good boyfriend. Good year of my life; very, very good.
Here’s my basic very good margarita recipe.
3 limes, squeezed
2 oz organic blanco tequila
1 oz or thereabouts agave syrup or rich hibiscus syrup
1/2 oz Grand Marnier if you must
Tajin for the rim
Serve it up, no rocks you pagan! Don’t water this beauty down with ice. Shake it madly in a cocktail shaker with ice and pour into your chilled Tajin rimmed glass.

Enjoy The Healthiest Fruit Jams (Made In India)
Tumblr media
Fruit jams have long been a beloved staple in households around the world. They provide a delicious way to enjoy the flavors of fresh fruits year-round. In India, the market for fruit jams is diverse, offering a wide range of options that cater to different tastes and preferences. However, not all jams are created equal. In this article, we will discuss how you can choose the healthiest fruit jams in India. So, keep reading this article till the end.
What Makes a Fruit Jam Healthy?
A healthy fruit jam is characterized by its ingredients and nutritional profile. Here are key factors that make a fruit jam healthy:
High Fruit Content
The primary ingredient in a healthy fruit jam should be real fruit. High fruit content ensures that the jam retains the natural flavors, nutrients, and benefits of the fruit.
Jams that list fruit as the first ingredient, rather than sugar or other additives, are typically healthier and more flavorful.
Low Sugar Content
Traditional jams are often loaded with sugar, which can diminish the health benefits of the fruit and contribute to various health issues like obesity and diabetes. Healthy jams use natural sweeteners or significantly reduced amounts of sugar to retain the fruit's natural sweetness without compromising health.
Some healthy alternatives even use fruit juice concentrates or natural sweeteners like honey or agave syrup.
No Artificial Additives
Avoiding artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives is crucial for a healthy fruit jam. These additives can have adverse health effects and detract from the natural taste and quality of the jam. Healthy jams rely on the natural color and flavor of the fruit and use natural preservatives like lemon juice or pectin, which is naturally found in fruits.
Nutrient-Rich Ingredients
Adding ingredients like chia seeds, flaxseeds, or additional vitamins can enhance the nutritional profile of the jam.
These additions provide extra fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, and other beneficial nutrients, making the jam not just a tasty treat but also a nutritious one.
Organic and Non-GMO
Using organic and non-GMO fruits can ensure that the jam is free from pesticides and genetically modified organisms. Organic farming practices are better for the environment and result in fruits that are healthier and more nutritious.
Non-GMO fruits ensure that consumers are getting a product that is as close to its natural state as possible.
Top Benefits of Consuming Healthy Fruit Jams
Incorporating healthy fruit jams into your diet can offer several benefits. Here, I have mentioned some of those benefits:
Rich in Nutrients
Healthy fruit jams are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants from the fruits. These nutrients can boost your immune system and overall health.
For example, strawberries are rich in vitamin C, while mangoes are high in vitamin A, which is essential for good vision and a healthy immune system.
Natural Energy Source
The natural sugars in fruits provide a quick and sustained energy boost, making fruit jams an excellent addition to breakfast or a snack.
This is especially beneficial for children and athletes who need a quick source of energy that is also nutritious.
Weight Management
Low-sugar jams can be part of a balanced diet, helping in weight management by satisfying sweet cravings without excessive calorie intake.
When compared to sugary snacks and desserts, healthy fruit jams are a more nutritious option that can help control weight while still enjoying sweet flavors.
Digestive Health
Some healthy jams include fiber-rich ingredients, promoting good digestion and preventing constipation. Fruits like mangoes and strawberries naturally contain dietary fiber, which is essential for maintaining a healthy digestive system.
Additionally, some jams incorporate seeds or other high-fiber ingredients to boost their digestive benefits.
Versatile Usage
Fruit jams can be used in various dishes, from spreading on toast to enhancing the flavor of yogurt, smoothies, and desserts.
They can also be used as a glaze for meats, a filling for pastries, or a topping for pancakes and waffles. The versatility of fruit jams makes them a valuable addition to any kitchen.
These are some of the major benefits of consuming the healthiest fruit jams, they will keep you fit & fine.

Chocolate Energy Bars Recipe
Copyright 2024 by Lisa Maliga
This one ticks a lot of boxes if you’re looking for nut-free, vegan, low-sugar and an easy no-bake snack or dessert. It took me four tries to get it right. I’d also recommend storing them in the refrigerator, especially in warm weather.
This is an original recipe from the second book of the new Yolanda’s Yummery Cozy Mystery series.
Ingredients:
6 Tablespoons virgin coconut oil
5 Tablespoons organic coconut sugar
2/3 cup agave nectar
2 Tablespoons cocoa powder, sifted
1 1/2 cups crispy rice cereal
3 cups rolled oats
2 Tablespoons chia seeds
1/2 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions:
In a large glass measuring cup or bowl, combine the first four ingredients and stir well over medium heat. Remember to sift the cocoa powder before adding it to the oils and sugar so the mixture is smooth.
In a very large bowl, combine the rice cereal, rolled oats, salt, and chia seeds with a whisk.
Pour in the warmed up wet ingredients and mix well. Wait about 10 minutes to add the chocolate chips as you don’t want them to melt completely.
In a parchment-lined 8” x 8” or 9” x 9” square pan, spoon in the mixture. Use a spatula to even out the top. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit on the counter for a few hours before slicing and eating.
If you’re in a hurry, put it in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Lastly, use a pizza cutter or sharp knife to cut the energy bars into squares or rectangles.
Store in the refrigerator. Wrap with waxed paper or plastic wrap.
Some Substitutes:
If you want a buttery flavored energy bar, use butter instead of coconut oil.
Don’t have any agave in your cupboard? No problem, use either honey or pure maple syrup.

S'Mores from Scratch
Vanilla Marshmallows Ingredients
14.5 oz white sugar (2 cups + 1 tbsp)
⅓ cup agave syrup, maple syrup, honey or 1/4 cup corn syrup
½ cup water
½ cup water for the gelatin
7 tsp gelatin about 3 packets of Knox gelatin (21. 6 g)
Pinch of salt
1 ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
Dusting powder
1 cup powdered sugar sifted
½ cup cornstarch
Directions
In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, syrup, and water, and heat over medium-high heat until mixture comes to a boil. Swirl the pan to mix, as opposed to stirring, and cover saucepan with lid and lower heat to medium. Let cook for 2 minutes and remove lid.
Insert candy thermometer and continue cooking until mixture reaches 242 degree F. Remove from heat.
While mixture is cooking, prepare gelatin by mixing in the bowl of a stand mixer with remaining water and allowing to bloom for about 10 minutes.
Once sugar mixture has reached the proper temp, allow the bubbles to subside and add to the gelatin with mixer on medium speed with whisk beater attached. Pour sugar mixture down the sides of the bowl to keep from scorching the gelatin. Add salt and increase speed to medium-high speed.
Continue to whisk until mixture triples in size, scraping down sides of bowl as necessary.
While mixture is whisking, butter an 8x8 inch baking pan. in a small bowl, mix together the powdered sugar and cornstarch and dust the pan. Once marshmallow mixture has tripled in size, whisk in vanilla and then pour into prepared pan and dust the top with more of the powdered sugar/cornstarch.
Allow marshmallows to set for 6-8 hours or overnight. When ready to use, cut with buttered knife and dust with more powder to keep squares from sticking together. Marshmallows will keep in airtight container for up to 6 months.
Soft Graham Crackers
Ingredients
1 3/4 cups / 240g whole-wheat flour
1/2 cup / 55g all- purpose or cake flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp kosher salt
1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
1/2 cup / 100g lightly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup / 110 butter (room temperature)
1/2 cup / 170g honey
2 tsp Frontier Co-op organic vanilla
1/4 cup / 60ml water
Directions
In a medium bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the flours, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Mix in the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, honey, vanilla, and water until thoroughly combined.
Chill dough for about an hour, then separate into two equal pieces. Roll into a square or rectangle at about 1/8 inch thick and cut into equal-sized pieces. Poke with a fork to prevent puffing.
Bake in 350 degree F oven for about 16 min, or until just slightly golden around the edges. I like them soft baked so I removed them from the oven when they were just set.
Allow to cool before dipping the underside in high-quality melted chocolate and sprinkling with French sea salt (optional.) Store in airtight container for up to a week.
Sandwich the cookies around a fire-toasted marshmallow with the chocolate-side facing towards the marshmallow and the undipped side facing outward.

What Does Matcha Taste Like?
If you've ever wondered what matcha tastes like, you're not alone. Matcha has gained popularity worldwide, especially among health-conscious individuals and tea enthusiasts. At Aki Matcha, we supply organic Japanese matcha powder wholesale and retail, and we especially offer fresh matcha lattes for local delivery in Tampa, FL. This article will dive into the taste of matcha, how to make it, its health benefits, and much more.
Tumblr media
What Does Matcha Taste Like?
Describing the taste of matcha  can be a delightful experience, as it has a unique flavor profile unlike any other tea. Here are the key aspects of its taste:
1. Umami: One of the most notable characteristics of matcha is its umami flavor. Umami is a savory taste that adds depth and richness to the matcha. It’s a taste sensation that's often described as meaty or brothy, similar to mushrooms or soy sauce but in a subtle, tea-like form.
2. Earthy: Matcha has a distinctly earthy flavor due to its high chlorophyll content. This gives it a taste that's reminiscent of fresh, green plants or vegetables like spinach or seaweed.
3. Sweetness: High-quality matcha, like the one we offer at Aki Matcha, has a natural sweetness. This sweetness balances out the bitterness, making for a pleasant and smooth tasting experience.
4. Bitterness: Matcha has a slight bitterness, which is usually mild if you’re using high-grade matcha. The bitterness should not be overpowering and often pairs well with the natural sweetness.
5. Vegetal: There’s a fresh, green, and vegetal taste, similar to eating fresh green vegetables. This freshness is part of what makes matcha feel so invigorating and refreshing.
