Unnamed Hello Puppets AU Character Biographies

Unfortunately my Ashley bio was TOO LONG for a Tumblr post so I'll copy paste my Quotev bios here. I'll put them in a book since I think you need an account to view Journals.

✧˖°. Wanna hear me ramble about my Skyrim OCs? ✧˖°.

My main character is Slits-Your-Throat, a pink Argonian werewolf woman who escaped the Shadow Scales, she was born during the first week of Sun's Dusk. She and Veezara were the last of their kind, but she couldn't bare to kill innocents- brigands, necromancers, forsworn, hagravens, cults and vampires were fair game, though (excluding Serana because she's a big help as a companion and really cool in general). 

When the Shadow Scales disbanded, she went to Skyrim in search of new potion combinations because she's an alchemist powerhouse. She could save even the sickest civilian but also make poisons strong enough to kill a cave full of bears. Slits-Your-Throat only ever knew her mother (because her father was a pirate) and they are very close because her mom taught her everything she knows, right down to the healing potions and poisons. She writes her a letter every Fredas  evening to let her know what she's been up to that week.

She acts like she's tough as nails, but once you get to know her she's just a big teddy bear with very strong maternal instincts- but she totally won't admit that, of course.

My second character (who was just a spontaneous brainchild that materialized one morning about a month ago) is a skinny, lanky, awkward male Bosmer named Mahogany (b/c puns). I'm still fleshing him out but what I know about him so far is that he was born on the 22nd of Last Seed, he's very awkward around women he thinks are pretty he can't hold his mead or ale to save his life, is an uncanny marksman and loathes the Thalmor with every fiber of his being. There'll be more to him later, probably.

2023 Fic Roundup

No one tagged me, I just love doing this to reflect on the year :3 Mostly Silm fic to no one's surprise.

Total Words Published at end of year: 162,562, which is a huge jump up from 47k last year, something I attribute wholly to having graduated in the spring (not that life hasn't kept me busy since then). This is actually even higher than 2021, when I started doing an end-of-the-year reflection!

New Things I Tried: Not totally new, but I think this was the first year I wrote chaptered Silm fic? I don't usually write fic that long but I got two this year so I'm pleased with that. Also, finally wrote and published Maglor/Thranduil and Maedhros/Thingol after ranting about them in DMs for literal years XD

Fic I Spent the Most Time On: What the Water Gave Me just because it's by far the longest thing I wrote.

Fic I Spent the Least Time On: Let Me Lie on Grasses so Green, but that was probably comparable with the other two fics in that "trio" of parent&child fics I wrote in February

Favorite Thing I Wrote: Honestly I was very happy with how Sandbox Love turned out! It really captured the energy I was going for with Galadriel's possibly-not-totally-sure unrequited (?) crush on Luthien and the realization that Luthien has sort of grown out of their friendship while Galadriel has not.

However I'm also quite pleased with both my Maglor/Thranduil pieces, which were both spawned as brainchildren of me and @meadowlarkx so they have a special place in my heart <3

Favorite Thing(s) I Read: I deserve an award for limiting this to 15 fics shhh no it wasn't originally supposed to be 10

Less Wise by @meadowlarkx - I know I've flailed about this one multiple times this year already, but here we go again. Our brainchild pairing may be unusual, but I would implore you to give it a chance, particularly if you're a fan of either Maglor or Thranduil. Lark's characterizations here are so fantastic and the dynamic between them is so juicy! Maglor trying to redeem herself through service to Thranduil is so compelling!

Berrypicking Time by swampdiamonds - This fic captures the best part of Finduilas/Nienor which is their healing and moving forward together. Both of them are trying so hard to process their own trauma, but they also want to help each other!

It's the Secret That We Keep by Loriand_Lost - Beautiful fic exploring Galadriel’s relationships with both Celeborn and Luthien in Doriath. Absolutely fantastic characterization! And great smut scenes.

The Pleasure of the King by Anonymous - Ahhh this is such a great fic. Azaghal and his wife Khoreti are quite eager to show Felagund the depths of hospitality in Belegost. Absolutely fantastic characterizations and such a fun time for everyone here. Also, origins of Finrod’s nipple piercings ;D

Beware of Women with Beards and Men Without by TheLionInMyBed - Azaghal and Maedhros’ alliance was full of cultural misunderstandings, but they push their way through it. Delightful characterizations here, particularly of Azaghal who gets basically none in canon, and a funny but also touching relationship between them.

Nesting by LiveOakWithMoss - It has great characterizations and a fascinatingly toxic Kidnap Fam dynamic, both between the twins and the Feanorians and between Maedhros and Maglor themselves. The whole thing is delightfully fucked up.

A Poetry Lesson by HewerOfCaves - Gorgeous characterization for Ingwion and I love seeing cocky prince Maedhros in Tirion who’s hot and smart and he knows it. Also, hitting on someone in a library feels like such an incredibly Maedhros move.

You are Coming Down with Me by TheLionInMyBed - Dark comedy look at the Kidnap Fam which takes, imo, a much more realistic look at how unhealthy the situation was for everyone involved, particularly the twins. Excellent characterizations!

Daeron Nails It by Tallulah - I am in LOVE with this little fic, it incorporates so many delightful details about the court in Menegroth. I am so pleased to see I am not the only one picturing Thingol and Melian with the cringiest pet names for each other.

A Fish Hook, an Open Eye by simaethae - Delicious. Maglor goes to the Havens at Sirion to try to wheedle cooperation out of Elwing, but she is not having it. Their argument takes a interesting turn in private. Love how desperate and pathetic Maglor is here.

A House of Nettles by Ias - Amazing delicious sexy fic where Eowyn becomes haunted by the Witch King–former queen of Numenor Tar-Miriel. It is SO good.

Strength Like a Tower by potatoesanddreams - This fic almost made me cry over a building. Fantastic look at how Elves connect to their environment.

Bite Thy Wings and Let Thee Crawl by @meadowlarkx - I shit you not this fetish porn fic has one of the best theses on Morgoth I've seen in this fandom. Lark displays a particularly deft talent in being able to take what could easily be considered a comical fetish and imbue it with such terror.

And by their blazing signify that a great princess falls, but doth not die by TheLionInMyBed - Absolutely obsessed, some of the best Elwing characterization I’ve ever seen. Gorgeous look at Elwing’s relationship with the other refugees of the Havens and at the Feanorians’ dynamic with them. One of the best Elwing fics I’ve ever read.

Shadow of the Evening by RussetFiredrake - Captures that lady knight/noblewoman thing with Arwyn SO well…both characters are so loveable here.

MotE and FotS have just been moved to AO3. They lack the contextual author's notes, but there's a link there to the original FFn and LJ sources for that.

The binding-compliant PDFs (originally lost in the MegaUpload purge) are now once again available on Google Drive. They're not the final-final-final versions (those died with an old laptop), but for Word 2007 on OSX Leopard, they're not bad.

I only became recently aware that people still read these fics. Then I did some digging and... damn. My little mutant brainchildren made good.

Why do you claim that Sara is the sole reason for the way Aegon get characterized in the show? Isn't Ryan the main writer and director of the show ? If he didn't want Aegon to be shown in that way , he wouldn't allow Sara.

Because, Sara Hess is the one taking all the credit for every fuck up to Aegon's character in interviews.

Ryan Condal is the head writer, yes. But Sapochnik was the Showrunner and head of production. Condal had nothing to do with production of any kind. He wrote the scripts and Sapochnik and his wife came in and gutted them during production and rewrote them on the fly with Sara Hess's help.

If you watch the behind the scenes docs on 1x08 - 1x09 Hess admits to "Story Editing" just before shooting which also says later in interviews with "Varity" and "Entertainment Weekly". The Aegon is a rapist and likes Child Fighting Rings, was not in the original scripts that Condal wrote. They were added by Hess during production to push Sapochnik's narrative that Rhaenyra was the true hero and queen of the Seven Kingdoms and that the Greens were the bad guys.

I'm simply taking Hess at her word that all the stupid and inconsistent bullshit in the narrative were her brainchildren.

Alright. So. The blog I reblogged this post from deleted their original post, and maybe even blocked me, but I think what I said was actually important so I deleted my post and anonymized it. This is the original post:

Hey, I don’t know who or what this group involved, and I’m not saying it’s not wrong, but I’ve actually done this to somebody before. And at least in my case, it was a complete accident.

I was in a Roleplay with somebody and our characters had good chemistry. I was enjoying it. I had typed out this really long response, pressed send, and thought nothing of it. I get a response like five minutes later, but I was kinda done writing for the day so I put it off until the next.

I looked at it the next day and had no ideas on where to take it from there, but I think I’m a pretty good writer, so I knew I’d think of something. Fast forward a couple days and I get a text from the guy. Just checking up on me. He asked me if I was still feeling the desire to continue, and I said yes. I was having fun. But every time I looked at that message, I didn’t know how to respond. I didn’t know how to own up to that, and I don’t think I would be able to still today. Well, a couple days turned into a week, and then into two. He already knew I was a slow writer, but he was starting to get really concerned. It was every day that I got a message, and every day that I told him I still wanted to do it. And one day, I finally owned up to it. Told him my shame. And he blocked me. Ghosted me. And I still haven’t been able to apologize.

Partially, this post is my apology to him. If you ever see this, dude, I’m sorry. This was never about you or your character. I was too invested in the story, and I was too caught up in my own shit to admit that I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know how to ask because I was always slightly jealous of how easily it came to you.

But this is partially to say that creativity is hard, and no matter how good someone is at creating a story, it’s hard to sit down and put pen to paper. This is especially true for TTRPGs where you not only have to make the story, but also do all the background math, balancing, character sheets, scheduling, and all this other stuff.

I love RP, DnD, and TTRPGs. I’d pick up another in a heartbeat. But it’s hard, and I don’t want to cast blame on creators for not being able to keep up the pace. At least they tried.

That about sums up my end, but I’ll leave with these final thoughts. These stories are the brainchildren of their creators, and most of the time are given so much thought and attention that they feel real. This gets people excited and emotionally engaged, but comes at a hefty cost. The people experiencing the story can never go back to being bystanders. They are as much of the story as the world is. And this can be a death sentence…

Some of my readers may be unfamiliar with this feeling. “How’s that? It’s just make-believe.” One might say. But the feeling I’m talking about is one more primal. You don’t consciously realize it’s there until it’s gone…

Thanks for reading my little rant if you got this far. I’m sorry to talk about something so frustrating. I just don’t think it’s fair to throw shade at people if they had good intentions. I’m not saying that the DM from OP’s situation did either, I wasn’t there. But we should “never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.” (Hanlon’s Razor)

And the last one for today will be the little guy I finally do a reference.

This is Radiant. Indirectly, a fusion of Ink-Error, but he was created from the magic of Frink and Mirror.

Below is a post with information about this character and his story.

(IMPORTANT: This is Acute Incident Multiverse, which is based on the DS Multiverse. Just keep in mind the basic differences between DS and the original and everything (or almost everything, since Mirror and Frink are the key figures here, and they are my brainchildren) will be clear to you.

(And so I'm looking forward to any questions, always happy to answer).

Radiant. (Luminous, source of heat, light)

History:

Appeared in one of Mirror and Frink's battles in which both fought desperately for their ideals, mercilessly pummeling each other's faces and piercing attacks. As they fought they didn't notice anything but each other anymore. (Ah, romance~). And at one point, Alternate was engulfed in fire - Frink had overdone the magic. But that's not the most interesting part. In the place of the burned and already destroyed AU, the enemies, in an attempt to catch their breath, noticed a small figure that literally came out of the fire. The completely naked skeleton looked very frightened, and when he saw the fighters, he started to push his slipper, only to fall down halfway, tangled in his own feet. Mirror and Frink were even distracted from the fight - they were in gloomy bewilderment, and Mirror was on the verge of crying out in horror, "This is the most wrong thing I've ever seen." And Frink agreed, but out of sheer stubbornness he did not let them destroy the strange creature, whose bones, mostly ribs, were decorated with small scars that glowed very brightly, and when touched, even if you just put your hand, you could feel the heat. Radiant was named Radiant, and, strangely but understandably, he was first taken under his wing by Frink, out of the same stubbornness and unwillingness to lose. He tried to bring up, but immediately gave up the case, and the kid himself learned, looking at Frink and watching others. Then Frink freaked out and threw Radiant off to Mirror, who was much more concerned about the child's upbringing, and probably sometimes showed excessive strictness, but even though he tried to show him as much as possible, he did not impose his ideology, and was happy to explain the reasons and motives for his actions.

Radiant lives in the Anti-Void, but spends more time in Outertale and Oceandale. These are the two Alternatives where running into him is a very real possibility.

Appearance:

Not tall, shorter than his basics.

The skeleton is white in color, with dark bones in the pelvis and below, excluding the ankles

There is an unusual innate pattern on his skull - it got that way from Frink's burning off Mirror's threads.

There are freckles on his face, but they are very hard to see.

He only has four phalanges on his hands and feet... And the phalanges on his hands are patterned, colored.

One eye socket is smaller than the other. Any explanation necessary?

Wears a long-sleeved jacket tied around his waist. It has patterns of fire on it.

T-shirt has a pattern of dripping ink.

Wears a poncho because a scarf doesn't suit him and it looks more like a plaid wrapped around his body than anything else.

Wears wide pleated pants.

Walks barefoot

Wears glasses because he can't see well.

Wears black gloves with open fingers.

He gets very hot when he feels a strong emotion.

Personality:

Slightly shy, though by the look on his face you'd think he's a very shy guy.

He loves Frink's abilities, but spends more time with Mirror, hence the stars on his clothes.

Always calls monsters and people by name, at least out loud.

He likes stars and shiny things that resemble them. Sometimes acts like a magpie.

Learned to play the flute from Frink.

Learned to sew dolls from Mirror.

Stole a t-shirt, sweater, and pants from his closet)

The character of the child is about 12 years old.

He neither "destroys" nor "creates" - he is not trivially interested in that.

He often adds stars to his clothes by himself.

His emotions represent a very meager range, coming from the basic available and their derivatives. He also hasn't been taught to distinguish between emotions, so he sometimes doesn't know what he's feeling at all.

He sleeps a lot because he stays awake a lot and doesn't understand the meaning of the time of day. What? They don't bother him in any way.

Partial memory problems are inherited from both bases.

He tries to avoid conflicts, but if it comes to them, he will try to solve everything by diplomacy or simply bind/hypnotize/paralyze his opponent and escape into the fog. If he is attacked, he will defend himself and then sullenly prove to everyone that "he started it first" even in situations where no one accuses him.

Melancholy and adolescent regression.

"I have, friends!!! For example... *demonstrates a doll he sewed himself* Her name is Rose! And she loves my music..... Hee-hee!"

"He's not lonely because loneliness is his best friend." ©, and the inquisitiveness and uncontrolled traveling through the whole Multiverse keeps things interesting. (The world through the eyes of children is a couple tones brighter, huh?)

Relationships:

Mirror.

Respects, perceived as a parental figure.

Mirror is the one who laid down the basic rules of communication to Radiant, no matter how strange it may be.

Radiant has often witnessed his madness, which makes him a strange but interesting monster.

Frink.

Respects him, but fears him because of his temper.

Does not see him as a guardian, but as an older brother.

He is not very attached to him, though he is very happy when he has time for him.

Rose.

The first doll he made, whom he considers his best friend.

Has a nice calm "personality", and a wide smile.

Looks like Frisk, dressed in a burgundy red dress, and has a sort of wreath on her head.

Fletch.

The second doll given by Mirror. Looks like a dark anthropomorphic monster with white horns and the same eyes. Has no mouth or anything other than an outline, but Radinath finds him frightening every time because of his "Grin" and will accuse him of throwing "too much wool" around again. Possesses a fickle unpredictable "temper". Constantly calls Radiant "Fir".

Dream.

Feathered knows this child exists, but refuses to accept the fact of its existence and keeps as far away from it as possible.

They've seen each other a few times, never spoken, but one day Dream caught him reading a book in his library and was amazed that he could barely feel his emotions. He hadn't even noticed at the time that some of his books had been stolen.

Radiant treats him neutrally, not seeing him as a threat, but he is indifferent to his ideology and finds it wrong and flawed, preferring balance to everything and for everything.

Nightmare.

Gave Radiant most of the books he has read.

Sometimes Radiant helps him with infiltrating JR's castle, but not often.

Radiant and Night have a mutual understanding and even friendship despite their age difference.

Radiant is very interested in Knightmere and sometimes Knight gets stressed about it.

The one case where the kid can rant relentlessly, while others know him as a "quiet, silent guy".

Cross.

Treats Cross with wariness, even though Cross doesn't mind care at Radiant or even talking to him about anything. In this case, it's mostly Cross who's talking, and Radiant is silently listening to him, occasionally inserting a comment.

To Radiant, it's Mirror and Nightmere's Familiar, but it's also Nanny.

Cross would sometimes sit with Radiant, but still had trouble figuring out how to act, and so Radiant remembered him as "Insecure Monster." (Kids. Kids like that.)

Swap

Helped the child acquire critical thinking (acquire≠develop it, please allow for age), introduced him to the "business and life of mortal beings", and otherwise tried to interfere as little as possible and only occasionally observe.

Radiant sees him as an uncle, and calls him accordingly, bringing a sad chuckle to Swap's face.

Abilities:

His strings are liquid-like.

The sounds of his flute are a weapon. "Notes" of his flute are capable of twisting an opponent with paralysis/hypnosis or inking an object that Radiant is targeting when using magic. You could say that the flute is a conduit that is mistaken for a magical artifact and the source of all his power.

Out of Frink's abilities came the incendiary ink.

He could summon blasters, but doesn't like their bright flashes and loud noises. They remind him of the ever-fighting bases.

hi everyone.

I was just having a bit of fun, the other week, looking for some gifs for some of my Canon/OC pairings that I have developed throughout the years, and this is the result. I had the chance to look into my old files, and had some fun revising my old ocs, that I still hold so dear to my heart.

so here you have a small overview of some of my brainchildren and their beloveds. I chose the gifs with care, because I wanted to try to convey, at least partially, the nature of the relationship between the two (or three) characters and a little bit the personality of the OCs themselves.
