overall i thought scott pilgrim takes off was a fun watch, but i also think that the general premise of scott pilgrim, the character, completely got away from it. like, to me, the point of him is: "scott is not entitled to a relationship with ramona; he has to earn it." and that's how he grows as a person. and instead this installment was coming at the concept from a meta perspective of knowing, already, that scott and ramona end up together, so why should the story have to justify that? i don't think it really made scott grow as a character at all, and even when the story was focusing on ramona, she was focused on scott, so she didn't get any growth by herself.

Another thing I noticed (while also doing a quick confirmation peek at VLR): some sound effects stick around with Uchikoshi across his games - like the save sound effect - that act almost like his signature. That's hype.

I even noticed while browsing the files for VLR's sound effects

"SE_COM_GAME_ON.wav" is also used in AITSF when getting pages for the Dream Album. That is so sick.

i feel so strongly about defending women from the "RICH CONSERVATIVE WHITE WOMEN WILL NOT BE AFFECTED" nonsense because i know a few women who were (now formerly, thank god) married to abusive powerful white men. one of those women is one of my closest friends. and i know for a fact that if she had gotten pregnant and wanted an abortion she would not have been able to get one. her husband was wealthy, she was and is not. he made her sign a prenup, he kept everything in his name and kept her credit and debit cards for their joint accounts in a safe and only took them out when she told him she was going to go shopping. when they got married she was 19 and he was 28. his dad is a very successful businessman in a small city in the south. big enough to become a millionaire from his self-owned business and big enough for a wealthy member of the community to have political weight to throw around in local and state level politics, but small enough for everyone to know everyone else's business. she essentially had nothing of her own. she had no special resources, no privilege afforded to her because of who she was married to. the decision ultimately was her husband's.

could they (he) have afforded to fly to another state and pay for an abortion procedure out of pocket? yes. would he have said yes to that proposal? well that was 20 years ago and he's dead now so we cant ask him, but my money's on a big fat NO. being pregnant and having a baby fathered by someone powerful is a terrible situation to be in, both personally and legally.

conservative ideology and strict patriarchy go hand in hand, cant you fucking see that?

why dont go you ask amber heard what her wealth and fame and social status and whiteness did to shield her from the wrath of our culture's hatred of women?
