Sure, Oryanna had it better than most. Being able to go to college in America, Being able to live this close to campus, to be able to support themself... But that doesnt mean that, ya know, the cocktail of meds solved everything. Being away from family in Vietnam was hard, especially on her dads death-versary. After a pretty bad crying jag, they opened their door, slinking into the shared kitchen to grab a popsicle and rub some ice on their eyes (they werent going to their 11am class looking puffy) -@not-your-chosen (oryanna)

The soldier had been sitting in the kitchen, on one of the chairs at the table, furiously writing into one of his notebooks. He had begun at approximately three in the morning when a series of flashes had suddenly occurred while he filled a glass with water.

Afraid they would leave, he sat down immediately and began to write. It was only when he heard steps that he looked up and by then his roommate was already in the kitchen. Something was... wrong? Tilting his head, he stared at her. "...Are you ill?" Was that the right thing to say? "Are you okay?" Yes, that sounded right.
