hp oc concept: “no one’s interested in something you didn’t do,” or an unnamed marauders era lynch oscar daniel lynch
the eldest son of the ministry’s ambassador to macusa, he spent the first thirteen years of his life growing up in the states. born in 1959/60, he was sorted into horned serpent for his three years at ilvermonry. the summer between his third and fourth years, his family moved back to ireland. they occupied their old cottage house, which could be traced through centuries of this lynch family branch. upon starting at hogwarts, he was sorted into slytherin. immediately, he felt ill at ease. he had cousins there, but many of them were in the process of being seduced into the dark side and lord voldemort’s hands. he just never expected that his cousins’ darkness would result in him spending twenty years in azkaban for a crime he hadn’t committed. that was how it played out, though. in the grand tradition of lynch turning on lynch, one of his cousins framed him for murder. in late 1997, kingsley shacklebolt freed him.

I never noticed before how fitting this casting was:
Tumblr media
(Claudia Jessie and Ruth Gemmell)
Especially considering this:
Tumblr media
(Claudia Jessie and Rupert Evans (Edmund Bridgerton))
Also LOL I just noticed this:
Tumblr media
(Rupert Evans and Calam Lynch (Theo Sharpe))
I think mayhaps Eloise might have a bit of a complex.

Eddie Redmayne says Day of the Jackal scripts 'discombobulated' him: 'It threw me off course'
Redmayne and his costar and co-executive producer Lashana Lynch preview Peacock's upcoming thriller adaptation.
By Ashley Boucher September 23, 2024.
Eddie Redmayne had an immediate connection to his latest project — even if it "discombobulated" him at times
The Oscar winner plays the titular assassin in Peacock's upcoming thriller Day of the Jackal, based on Frederick Forsyth’s 1971 novel of the same name. The mysterious killer for hire was first brought to life on screen in a 1973 movie adaptation starring Edward Fox as the Jackal, who is hired to take out French President Charles de Gaulle while a police detective unravels his true identity.
"It was one of those movies that my family would watch again and again and again,” Redmayne, who also serves as an executive producer, tells Entertainment Weekly. “And so I thought, wow, this is bold, that they're going to try and reimagine this. And what I read, I just found completely thrilling and compelling, and at each moment it threw me off course and it kind of discombobulated me, but I couldn't stop turning the pages... I hadn't done television for a few years, but the idea of getting to spend a proper amount of time with this enigma felt like great material to mine.”
The scripts that made Redmayne's head swirl update the plot for modern times — and provide more insight into who the Jackal really is, making the 10-episode series "a completely different piece" that has "been reconceived and contemporized with a new target."
The series begins with the Jackal pulling off a high-profile kill from a distance that should have been impossible. The remarkable shot draws the attention of a client whose offer, risky as it may be, could mean retirement for the hit man. But, unfortunately for the Jackal, it also draws the attention of British Intelligence, turning the hunter into the hunted.
“One of the things that appealed to me about doing this series was, in Edward Fox's version — it's two hours, that movie — Edward is so filled with charisma… and kind of wit and elegance, but you never get to learn anything about it,” Redmayne says. “I wanted to see if through this 10-hour thing, we could get to know someone, but always be second guessing.”

Eddie Redmayne is a master of disguise in The Day of the Jackal first-look teaser trailer
The scripts that made Redmayne's head swirl update the plot for modern times — and provide more insight into who the Jackal really is, making the 10-episode series "a completely different piece" that has "been reconceived and contemporized with a new target."

Indeed, the Jackal keeps not only the audience, but those around him constantly on their toes — particularly MI6 arms specialist Bianca Pullman, played by No Time to Die star Lashana Lynch. Bianca becomes obsessed with finding out the Jackal’s identity, to the detriment of her career and family. “She is so determined to be this strange version of human superhero — and I say strange version because it's all the twisted elements of things that you would hope that a human wouldn't do when doing good for the world,” Lynch, a co-executive producer, tells EW, adding that, “The way that she goes about her work means that there has to be a fall off and a sacrifice somewhere. And unfortunately for her, that sacrifice and the racking of the brain is worth it.”
What both Bianca and the Jackal put themselves through — and the destruction they leave — as they traverse Europe to carry out their missions will surely have viewers questioning their judgment. “People working for good and people working for bad can have such similarities,” Lynch says. “At the end of the day, they both just have jobs to do.”
Those jobs just might cost them everything.
The Day of the Jackal premieres Nov. 7 on Peacock.

302 - Sliding Doors (with Bobby Finger)
Tumblr media
We're talking about Gwyneth Paltrow's red hot 1998 this week and who better to join us than author and Who? Weekly co-host Bobby Finger?! With a slew of movies to aid her ascendancy, Gwyneth Paltrow wasn't having a moment in 1998, she was the moment. It all kicked off with the Sundance debut of romcom Sliding Doors, a film that cast Paltrow as a woman whose fate is determined by whether or not she makes the subway. Showing us both what happens if she does or doesn't make that train, the film made Paltrow a buzzy figure, but itself was usurped as an awards vehicle by Shakespeare in Love.
This week, we talk about the concept of having "a Sliding Doors moment" and how the film is much wilder than we remembered it. We also talk about Bobby's new book Four Squares, Paltrow's Oscar season SNL hosting duties, and the film introducing us all to "Thank You" by Dido.
Topics also include video rental store wall real estate, Miramar, and the formative vibes of Richard Curtis.

Fuck OFF how did Paloma Diamond lose the fucking Oscar again? 'Breathe' was fucking incredible and deserved movie of the year. Anyone who says otherwise is obviously a Lorelai Lynch fan. Listen I liked Lorelai LAST year when she was actually humble. But she's fr grown to be an arrogant pain in the ass. While Paloma has stayed humble and graceful after NINTEEN losses. Don't even bet me started on how rude Lorelai Lynch was towards the other actresses of the roundtable 🙄. But anyways, ig Scorpio Hunter was good but I rlly don't think it was good enough for Michelle to win that Oscar but whatever. ts is rigged anyway.

i miss you
Lashana Lynch x Fem! Reader
I’m usually the reader, so being a writer is a first for me. Let me know what y’all think!! I’ll take anything ☺️
This is the beginning, so let me know if you want to see more!
Pairings: LASHANA LYNCH X FEM! READER
Warnings ⚠️: dressing in lingerie?? Other than that it’s almost too pure!
Summary: After missing your fiancé you want to show her exactly just how bad you’ve been missing her
Word count: 1K

“MS. LYNCH!” *Flash*
“OVER HERE LASHANA” the clicking sounds of at least 50 cameras could be heard in the distance, along with the blinding flashes of light and the yells of paparazzi trying to get just THE photo.
The picture:
Lashana Lynch walking the red carpet for the upcoming movie premier.
The gems on her dress made it look as if the whole thing shone with diamonds, a deep V to accentuate her chest while the fabric itself clung to every curve of her body. The floor length gown flared at the knees, with a cheeky slit starting from her thigh down.
The dress wasn’t the only thing to shine, her skin glistened, free from any imperfections.
Elegantly she strode down the red carpet, her head held high.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
You poured yourself another glass of wine. Listening to the announcers talk about who was wearing who to the Oscars, you made your way back to your nest on the couch. Your eyes not leaving the television once.
Arriving back to your spot wine glass in hand you finally see her. Your fiancé.
Only seeing her for a second, But she shone so brightly you couldn’t miss her.
Smiling faintly you absentmindedly ran your finger around the rim of your glass reminiscing the day she had proposed to you.
It was a lowkey event, the two of you had traveled to the Maldives together for a relaxing vacation after the filming and interviews had been done with The Woman King. After an amazing day that had just about come to an end, there she had knelt. A ring shining in her palm, before she could even say anything you had burst into a fit of tears flinging your arms around her neck. The two of you had sat there for a while, because when you looked up she had been crying too.
“From the very moment I saw you, I knew I wanted to be with you forever. I knew I wanted to be by your side no matter what came our way. You have shown me love, and loyalty like no other. You are my best friend, and the love of my life. Would you do the honors of being my wife?”
Lashana had asked after you both had settled down. As she talked she spoke every word while looking directly at you. Her eyes never left yours.
Incoherently saying the words “Yes” over and over again she slipped the ring onto your finger. Happy you decided to get your nails done before the trip, you looked down at your ring finger smiling until your cheeks hurt.
Flinging your arms around her neck once again for the night, but this time you envelop into a kiss-
“LASHANA LYNCH” Kevin Heart yelled, announcing the best actress and presenting the winning Oscar nominee.
The camera panned out to find your fiancé in the audience among all the other celebrities.
She smiled brightly, shoulders back she walked up to the stage to accept her Oscar. Keeping it together she delivered a thoughtful speech before return to her seat.
You I’m the other hand were not keeping it together, screaming and crying in nothing but love for the actress.
Celebrating, you strode back into the kitchen to fetch yourself another glass of wine. Your mind racing on how you and your fiancé could celebrate the victory together.
You both shared a home in London, where you were now. Lashana had flown out to Hollywood a week prior to the awards ceremony, it had been a dreadful week.
But now your fiancé was coming home, trophy in hand. Oh how excited you were to see her.
You checked your phone and the ceremony was almost over, but you couldn’t wait half an hour. You needed her now.
Slightly stumbling in your tipsy state of mind you make your way back to the bedroom the two of you shared. Bad idea, she was everywhere. Her clothes filled the closet, her glass for water at night sat there at the nightstand, and her house slippers neatly tucked under the bed almost made you begin to tear up. Oh how you missed her.
Shaking your head, clearing your thoughts, you focused on what was important. Making your way to the dresser you opened the top drawer to an array of lingerie. Sifting through your vast assortment, you nimbly pick out the perfect set.
“Perfect” you thought.
Hurrying to the bathroom, you get yourself ready in a flash. Leaving everything where it is as you were done with it, a complete mess if you will.
Looking down at the mess you made, you thought to yourself “I’ll get to that later, I have more important matters to attend to.”
You carefully put on your beautifully made lingerie set, hooking everything and making sure all the straps were perfectly in place. If there’s one thing your fiancé admired most, it was elegance.
You fished around again in the drawer this time looking for some simple transparent black stockings, and then quickly found the perfect pair of heels to go along with it. Giving yourself a quick spin in the mirror to check nothing was out of place, you ran back to the living room to see that they were indeed still going through the nominees and announcing the winner out of the categories.
“Excellent.” You sneakily thought.
Finding your tripod you set your phone up and hastily kneel on the couch, press your palms down between your knees and make a lustfull look st the camera. You didn’t want to be too crude. Yet. The flash went off signaling your picture had been taken.
Jumping off the couch you grab your phone to see the photo.
Sent
You look at the small delivered under the picture, your heart racing.
Aiming your attention back to the television, your eyes scanned for the gorgeous dark skinned woman who happens to be your fiancé.
You noticed the quickness of how her eyebrows shoot up, announcing something that had surprised her.
Slyly, Lashana peers at something that held her attention on the table…
