Ostara lines up with the Spring Equinox, this year falling on March 19th.
Being the last festival in the dark half of the Wheel of the Year, the spring equinox represents revival, rebirth, and resurrection. A common theme here is fertility, with the earth being fertile for life to spring from the ground. This is continued through us and our magick as well.
A common practice is spring cleaning. Creating a physical space that reflects our mental state. If our space is cluttered, then typically, our minds are too. But don't declutter just because it's a common practice or because it's Ostara, declutter to allow space for spiritual growth.
During Ostara we are coming out of our dormant stages of winter, it's important to revisit any goals created during Imbolc and follow through with them. Identify the habits you've started and see how they align with your goals. Do you need to motify any of them? Create or erase them?
Many gods and goddesses are worshipped during this time, coming out of winter to rejuvenate the earth, such as: Eostre, Pan, Triple Goddess, and Persephone (Kore). Some other associations with the Ostara are the hare, toad, cat, owl, fox, daffodil, borage, bluebell, wild garlic, jasper, serpentine, citrine, and lapis lazuli.
This year, unfortunately, I'm busy with work, so my Ostara activities will take some days.

As we couldn't celebrate Ostara this year, we made a quiet Easter breakfast this weekend instead.
It is still a little cold outside, so I made a nice warm Miso Soup and a peppermint tea. We had a delicious bread with seeds and grains in it, some radish, hard boiled easter eggs from my mom and fresh chives.
For the first time ever (!) I made a yeast braid. It came out good, but there's still place for improvement... ^_^'
Solis joined us for the whole time, making it extra nice <3
Ostara marks the Spring Equinox, which happens between March 19 -23. Ostara is a pagan celebration of the German goddess Eostre and the origins of the Christian celebration of Easter. As the beginning of spring Ostara is a good time to literally and figuratively plant seeds for the future.
In modern day living Ostara is also good time to start taking action on the ideas and goals you started thinking about around Yule and Imbolc. What you plant during Ostara will be ready to be harvested during the coming summer months.
Ostara, or the spring equinox, happens between the 20th and the 24th of March every year. It officially marks the beginning of spring, and so the warm weather coming! It represents rebirth and growth, but also balance.
Ostara is a good time to plan things for spring (like things you want to do this summer, or your garden. Some of us might even be able to start their garden at this time! It's still too cold here for me to do it), spring cleaning and, if possible, open windows for (probably) the first time this year! Also think of repotting your indoor plants so they can also start anew for this year!
Without really planning, you can also just write down your goals for this spring
Colors to wear, be it with makeup, clothes, or other accessories are pink, green, purple, yellow, white… mostly pastel colors!
Crystals to wear or to make spells with for Ostara are rose quartz, clear quartz, amethyst, bloodstone, carnelian, sunstone, agate and lapis lazuli
Now for foods! Eat things with cheese, eggs, seeds, nuts, in-season vegetables and fruits, but most importantly: honey! I already shared it last year on my blog, but you definitely should try this easy honey cake recipe for Ostara!
And since I like Ostara a lot, I found this recipe for hot cross buns: turns out they taste amazing for breakfast or just a lil snack!
For activities, you can also light black and white candles for balance
You can dye or paint eggs in pastel colors!
You can eat chocolate rabbits and go take walks outside to see the change of seasons and how nature is coming back to life!
You could also take a bath or keep yourself grounded by meditating outside (if it's not too cold!)
Of course, there's the usual divination you can do!
Blessed Ostara!

Niezła ze mnie gapa. Byłam święcie przekonana, że Ostarę świętujemy z 21 na 22. Nic to!
Rano przegoniłam Capiego oraz siebie tak z 10km. Mirabelki, wiśnie wszędzie kwitną i aż się prosi by zostać na dłużej.
Przyszła do mnie Runa Gebo. (dobra wróżba)
Wykonałam parę Ostarowych rytuałów w tym okadzenie domu. Tym razem użyłam suszonych kwiatów rumianku. Rumianek w tej formie ma bardzo silne działanie antydepresyjne. No i wreszcie przyszedł czas na piknik i czas posilenia, medytacji i wyciszenia.
W grudniu obok mojego ołtarza znalazłam żywą biedronkę, dnia dzisiejszego było ich dwie :) Uwielbiam biedronki. To kolejny dobry znak.
Myślę, że uziemiłam się oraz naładowałam się do kolejnego Sabatu który wypada 30.IV.
I still haven't been feeling well so we kept our Lady Day/Spring celebration pretty quiet. My partner found a dairy free and gluten free cheesecake in our grocery store and picked it up on a whim.
What's more spring than a tornado watch? I'm not in the watch area so it's nice to have a chance to listen in and just practice looking at radar scans and compare how I do with the stream. Pairs nicely with our cheesecake.
Also pictured is our new flower calendar and my grandmother's pink perpetual calendar.
Happy feast of the ovum and hares, of the spring goddess Eostrae or also called Ostara, or how you said it, happy easter. A celebration of spring equinox, fertility and resurrection.
Happy Easter/Ostara, fuckers. I've been up since 6:30. I've staged a visit from the Easter bunny for my niece. I've had my Adderall AND a shower. I'm wearing my EvilleCon shirt, but I might switch to a tank with the weather sitting around 80°.
Go eat candy and yell at the moon. Plant something. The spring equinox was March 20th, but who fuckin cares these days? Celebrate it now, or celebrate it later. Drink plenty, eat to fill your belly, and kiss something if you can.
May our coming summer be as bright as Apollo's chariot and warm enough to keep the plants growing strong without drying them up.
Winter is done. Welcome to the growing season, folks.
