Otabek was a great figure skater. He learned how to skate and would skate professionally. If he wasn't on the rink skating, he was somewhere being a DJ for people. Sometimes, he was at home. He liked the quietness, and he liked his privacy. Skating was second nature to him, and he had won several awards and medals.

He met you on his way to DJ at some place. You needed a ride somewhere, and he felt like being nice. Normally, he wouldn't have gotten himself involved, but there was something about you that drew him to you. He helped you out and drove off to his destination. It wasn't until he was on his way home that he saw you again. You were standing on a street corner. It wasn't safe to be doing that.

“Hey, do you need a ride?”

“Yes, please. Thank you so much.”

“What are you doing out so late?”

“I was heading to my hotel. I just came here as a tourist. I'm not too familiar with the area.”

He didn't say another word, but he dropped you off at the location that you needed. He waited a minute. There was something about this situation that he couldn't quite place.

He watched you as you walked off into the distance and went inside the hotel. He shook it off and went on his way. He wasn't going to bother someone who wouldn't be staying long. It wasn't his place, and he wasn't going to see you again anyway. Eventually, he drove off into the night. Still, he couldn't help as his mind wandered back to the night with you.

He sat up in his bed and rubbed his face. It was too late in the night, but too early. He wandered around the house before deciding to get ready for the day. He needed something to do. Then he saw you again. It wasn't intentional. He was just trying to go about his life. He almost crashed his motorcycle. He almost flipped it. It didn't matter. He had come to a sudden halt. He wasn't expecting to see you again.

The days turned into weeks. The weeks turned to months. Eventually, he asked you out, and you accepted.

“Have you ever been ice skating?”

“No, I haven't. Have you?”

“Yes, I could teach you if you'd like.”

“Sure!” You said with a smile. You didn't mind trying something new for once. It gave you an adventure, and if you liked it, something you could both do together.

After getting you some ice skates, he stepped out onto the rink, as he had done many times before. He realized that you had never done this before, and you wouldn't move as easily as he would. He turned back to you and held his hand out for you to hold onto. You gratefully took it as you stepped onto the ice. You nearly slipped, but Otabek caught you.

“Thank you.” You said with a nervous laugh.

“No problem; I remember my first time skating.”

You stood up and held your arms out carefully, hoping that you wouldn't fall again as your heart thudded loudly in your chest.

“Here, like this.”

He said as he slid away from you. He wasn't close, but he was far enough away that you could watch him. His movements were slow and careful as he showed you how to move. He moved in next to you as you tried to copy his actions. He was there every step of the way, in case you needed anything.

This Perfect Moment

Pairing: Otabek Altin x Reader

Warnings: N/A

Summary: You trust Otabek to catch you, and every single time, he does.

A/N: Just a lil drabble I came up with while listening to Il Volo’s “Notte Stellata” cause it’s soooooo good.

Both in life and figure skating, the moments leading up to a big jump are the most stressful. 

The anxiety of spinning out of formation and ruining the program, slipping up and falling in front of the strict panel of judges, or even stumbling on the landing weigh down on your chest immensely as the blades of your skates glide against the ice. People often say that there’s nothing anybody can do in these moments to relieve your worries, nobody to catch you when you fall.

Except, for the past eleven years, there has been.

Time slows when Otabek’s hands settle on your hips, warm and familiar, and you close your eyes, willing your heart to stop beating so damn fast. It isn’t until Otabek draws you close that your breathing slows in time with his own. He exhales close to your ear, lips ghosting over the cold skin of your earlobe to whisper.

“I’ve got you.”

It’s not the first time you’ve heard Otabek say these words. No, the first time he said this was when you were children. He was seven years old, already a prince on the ice. But you? You were five years old. The fear coursing through your veins as you stared along the expanse of the sheet of ice before you rendered you unable to move, up until he slid towards you, offering you his gloved hand.

“It’s okay, Y/N. I’ve got you.”

You feel yourself opening your eyes to look up at him. Starry, brown eyes gaze into yours, and the faint nod he gives you melts away every negative feeling you have, replacing it with one feeling; the only thing you allow yourself to feel in this precise moment leading up to the toss.

Trust.

The same trust you put in him when you took his hand in yours, allowing him to guide you into the big, scary ice that, somehow, didn’t seem so bad when he was with you.

Otabek’s muscles shift under his costume, strong arms lifting you into the air and tossing you into a spin the second you bend your knees, and for a second, you’re weightless. You’re helpless to the pull of gravity, spinning high up in the air, and just like that, you’re in Otabek’s arms again. His hands are back on your hips, one hand closing around yours as he pushes you away from him by your hip, your momentum carrying you both against the ice.

Otabek spins you under his arm, allowing you a second to breathe and come down from your high. And, in that split second he gives you, your eyes meet again.

And when you smile under the ceiling of stars, your eyes twinkling bright, he can’t help but smile back.

I finally have a title for this (I suck at making titles btw). I thought that this should have come out a lot sooner but, I have no clue what to write. Without further ado the story. 

Part 1

     You thought that what Mila had done was sweet but, it still didn't stop you from wanting to cry again. You felt helpless you couldn't do anything to stop Yuri from hating you but, you had to try something you knew it.  Yuri would normally give the silent treatment for about a week but, then again he wasn't as mas those times as he was right now. You thought about it for a little while longer but nothing came t your mind. You thought that you could think later so you got on the ice and started to practice. It wasn't the best you had ever done but not the worst either. You didn't know what to think you knew it meant something to you but, normally when stuff happened it didn't affect your performance. You just continue to skate though you could feel that anyone watching would see that you weren't giving it your all.

     You got off the ice once Mila started to practice you didn't want to be in the way. You couldn't  clear your head with skating now so you thought it would be best to go for a walk. This time letting Yakov know where you were going. He understood even though he gave you a time limit. You had been outside for about 5 to 10 minutes when you hear it a call "Y/N!" when you hear it you know instantly who it is  'Victor' you thought.  "Y/N!" this time you turned around "Hey, Victor," you beamed. He was on his bike witch meant Yuri couldn't be far behind him. "What are you doing out here aren't you supposed to be practicing?" he said tilting his head stopping the bike directly in front of you.  "I just needed to clear my head," you said looking at the ground. Looking back up you asked, "What are you doing out?" "Oh, I'm just 'running' with Yuri," he said. Then you heard puffing in the distance 'Yuri' you thought. The perfect guy to talk to yes, Victor was a great guy but, you knew him and he would probably just tell you to talk to Yuri(o). You saw Yuri and saw a great opportunity that came with him.

     "Yuri! Look who I bumped into," Victor smiled brightly at the puffing yuri that was gradually getting closer. "Oh, Y/N what are you doing out here," He talked leaning over his knee catching his breath "Just taking time to think about stuff," you said not feeling like repeating what you said to Victor. This is the part that one of them would normally start asking questions but, they didn't which was a bit confusing. 'They knew me' you thought why weren't they asking question nothing got into you. "Oh, I get it," Victor beamed "You do?" you questioned almost sarcastically you weren't about to let them know that you needed help just wasn't like you. "Of course you and Yurio finally talked about that kiss," he said nudging you in the side 'Yep that's Victor'. You didn't know why you would you think for a second that Yuri(o) would talk to them about it. With that all thoughts of talking with Yuri faded away sure he could help but, you hoped not to have to explain again. "Yep we sure did," you cringed "I wonder if Yuri talked to Otabek yet?" Yuri said and your face instantly lit up. 'That was it' you knew Yuri would have to talk with his only other friend (that he would admit to being friends with). You ran off after that leaving the boys to just wonder what happened.

     When you got back to skating rink Yakov wanted you to practice for the final time before everyone went home. You knew there was no getting out of it so you did. It didn't take long and Yakov could see the change in your demeanor which meant your performance was a lot better. He didn't say anything after the routine witch let you know that you could go but, you did say bye to everyone first to make sure it was okay. When you got home you were almost giddy that you could get some actual help. You, Yuri(o), and Otabek had a chat that you had all made. You were friend with Otabek yes you meet through Yuri(o) he might have help at first but, you found things to talk about. You knew that he would help so, with that thought in mind you called him. It ringed once. Twice. A third time. The fourth time then the fifth. You being desperate to talk to him you called again. This time there was one ring then the second then you heard a voice "Hello?" it sounded groggy "Otabek? That's you right?" you rushed. "Yeah, it's me what do you need Y/N," "You haven't talked to Yuri lately have you?" you asked sheepishly. "Yes, why is he not answering his phone?" another groggy answer "Did he tell you what happened. (also I'm sorry if I  woke you)" you heard a hum on the other line signaling that he knew what you wanted to talk about. "Well what should I do?" you answered passing around your house "I don't know he seemed really upset. I haven't seen him like that. Have you talked with him?". "Argh! How did I know that you would say that? But, I can't go talk to him he won't let me get close to him." you must have sounded exhausted like you have thought about all of this. "Corner him." Otabek said nonchalantly "I will help you get everything but, we are gonna need someone else," "Are you sure Otabek what it makes it worse?" you knew it wouldn't ut, worry got the best of you. "You know just as well as I do that's not how Yuri works," you smiled at what he said know you he hung up know that you were onboard.

Otabek Week: Thursday, October 26th - Beka Bear

NOTE: Day 2 of @otabek-altin-week and I certainly hope this did him justice!!

“Beka,” you call out as you continue unpacking the boxes in your new apartment, the bedroom to be more precise. “Where's Beka Bear?”

He chuckles at your wish - no, need to find his big teddy bear. You've known each other for ages now, dating for a couple of those years, and that bear he owned seemed to have all of your love and devotion. Even when you began dating you told him semi-jokingly that the bear might get more cuddles than with him. With his connection to his teddy bear, it looks like Beka Bear is in some sort of tug-of-war between his owner and his bae.

“He's in one of those boxes.” he replies simply with a light shrug to the shoulders. “All you need to do is look.”

You let out a groan of exasperation, throwing yourself on the bed and looking up at the ceiling as though the bright, blinding light will give you the answer you need.

“Bekaaa,” you call out again.

“Yes, love?”

“I've been looking in every box and Beka Bear isn't in any of them!”

It wasn't a lie: ever since you began unpacking a couple of hours ago you've looked through every box you see. Now they're practically empty and still no Beka Bear to be seen.

You hear a sigh from the bathroom nearby and a bit of shuffling through who knows what. Like he was changing into something.

“I think I know what can cheer you up, love.” he says after a good five minutes of silence. You sit up in interest and call him over to show you what he had in mind.

You expect to see maybe one of his skating outfits that you find him attractive in, maybe traditional Kazakhstan attire he owns and brought to the apartment, or even one of his DJ merch he owned.

What you never expected was for your built boyfriend to walk in with Beka Bear.

In a teddy bear onesie.

Your eyes widen and you jump off the bed and into his arms, tears of joy at the corner of your eyes, and questions of why he didn't tell you he owned the onesie AND had Beka Bear at the back of your mind.

“You're the best teddy bear anyone can ask for, Beka!” you cry out of pure, childish happiness.

“I'm glad to hear, love.” he chuckled, holding you close to him and the stuffed bear. “But be careful with Beka Bear, wouldn't want to squish him.”

You smirk a little when a thought comes to mind and you lean into his ear.

“Can I squish you?”

(Y/N) Katsuki fell in love with figure skating the moment her older brother, Yuuri Katsuki, introduced it to her as a child; it was impossible to get her off the rink since. The whole of Japan routes for her to become the worlds youngest gold medal holder in competition.

However, the story begins to sour during The Female World Junior Figure Skating Championships. A terrible disaster occurs only a few nights before the female finals, and (Y/N) blames the accident on herself. She swears to keep the secret to protect herself and others, quitting figure skating as a result. She gives up her dream and continues with her life, regretting everything.

It is only when she hears news of Victor Nikiforov flying to her home town to coach her older brother for the up coming international competition does a spark of hope ignite. She meets the Russian Punk, Yuri Plisetsky, along the way, both of them instantly despising the other.

Two questions remain. Will (Y/N) and Yuri learn to get along and will she ever return to the ice? Reborn.
