A bit sour but ok.

May 10: catching up on trip notes. We said goodbye to Split & took a ferry to the island of Brac for our next ride. We rode 17 miles along the northern coast to beautiful city of Pucisca. Then we rode across the island from north to south to the city of Bol, which was 14 miles & a huge climb in between.

The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. The water is turquoise blue in the shallows then peacock blue in the deeper parts. We rode through olive tree groves & poppy fields.

We’ve continued our tradition of ending a good bike ride with a beer - we now have a favorite Croatian beer, Ozujsko. Highly recommend. Hopefully we haven’t broken any open container laws as we stroll through town enjoying our post ride beverages.

Then we boarded another ferry to the island of Hvar where we’re staying for two nights.

Last night we had a group dinner at another private home in Hvar where the family grows olives & grapes & produces olive oil, wine & grappa. We got to sample homemade rose flavored grappa - it smelled & tasted wonderful.

Still no suitcase on this day. Fortunately I was able to use a laundry service at the hotel for my biking clothes because the sink washing only goes so far. I think my fellow travelers appreciate this.

It is a decent lager, good enough to sit back and enjoy the football, and sure that’s what its all about at the end of the day, right? Satisfying and refreshing, smooth and quaffable.

Kastanienbraun, mit ziemlich süßlichen Malzaroma, dazu etwas Metall. Geschmacklich geht es malzig, sogar leicht würzig weiter. Der Nachtrunk ist leicht herb. Kein Beinbruch. 5/10
