Hi!! Just saw your blog and wanted to say that no, if I remember correctly, he never explicitly stated his sexuality. I always hc that he is attracted to pretty and talented people lmao, bc Blaine was both pretty and talented, and I always took the little playful head nod to Rachel in the “I want u back” deleted scene as another, pretty and talented people is what he likes sorta deal. But again, there wasn’t any explicit confirmation so I think it’s safe to hc whatever. Hope that helps!

Hi!! I didn't think he came out and said it either. I've been thinking about how the framing shows that Seb is all about sex and living while he's young (yes, that was on purpose) and how that doesn't really give us a lot about his character. I also think it's kinda funny how this is supposed to be "bad" when Seb does it but not when Noah does it (which is an entirely different kind of bad since he's a minor or barely an adult getting with much older women but I digress).

Anyway! I've been thinking about how Seb could be one of three things. (1) Seb could be bi/pan/(another of similar theme) as you point out. This could also be noticed in the "sexual tension" between Santana and Sebastian in "Smooth Criminal", which I think can exist even if they both swing opposite ways because acting and getting into the song are things. (2) Seb is "gold star gay" and doesn't use SAM and is into men. (3) Seb does use SAM and identifies as aromantic as well as either of the above options.

As someone who is aroace and doesn't really see how monogamy is supposed to work long term, I think Seb could easily fall into the aro umbrella, especially with the way he is written in a lot of fics. Aromantics experience little to no romantic attraction, and the way I've found him in a lot of fics is where he has only experienced this attraction towards Blaine, which is nice as a trope of sorts, but I feel like it fails Seb on a level to not address this. Does he not date anyone else because he isn't attracted to them and doesn't see the point in a relationship with them? Does he try dating but feel like it's just a friendship with more work that isn't fulfilling enough to keep up? Does he try dating but feel guilty/bad that the other is more "into" or feeling "more" about him than he them?

[When I tried my two brief relationships, I felt guilty because they were a lot more "into" me than I them. I don't experience romantic attraction, so I don't really know how someone would feel about only feeling these feelings for one person. This is my extrapolation.]

AURUMJANK HELLO! I was wondering, what are some of your favorite glee head canons? :D

@sscrambledmeggss hi! Thanks for the question! And, well, it's kind of the hard one for me... I'm not sure about favourite - some of them are just head canons. Be prepared! There's going to be a lot of writing.

1. I mentioned once that I don't believe that Kurt actually had a crush on Finn. It never happened in my world. No, he was lonely, and wanted a male friend, and was influenced by the world around him (telling that you can't be happy without a boyfriend/girlfriend) and so he convinced himself that he's in love. I'm pretty sure he just wanted someone to spend time with him and someone to protect him.

2. Puck is pansexual. I don't have any proof, but he is. At least for me.

3. Kurt settled for Blaine. First, he was scared, and lonely, and tired when they met. Then he ran to Dalton and Blaine was the only student he knew there (and Warblers didn't seem too welcoming, at least for me). Kurt thought Blaine was his only option and so he hang on to him. And then he was afraid that he will never connect with anyone else and that no one will stick around, so he took him back. Twice. (Remember that car ride before the proposal? And the talk he had with Rachel in season 6? I don't think he looked like a guy who's happily in love any of this times... More like "I feel like everyone is abandoning me and I'm terrified of being lonely")

4. And another head canon that's connected ↑ - Kurt said 'yes' to proposal only because of the peer pressure and because he knew that saying 'no' wouldn't be seen as 'not yet' and so everyone would make him the bad guy.

5. Santana was secretly shipping Hevans (I mentioned it once - 'Lady Lips' and 'Trouty Mouth')

6. Santana has a thing for blondes. Just look: Brittany, Dani, Sam and even Quinn. I mean, we all know she just used that cheerleader girl from college, Puck, David and other guys she slept with, but this four actually ment something to her.

7. Sebastian Smythe is fluent in French.

8. Chandler wasn't really flirting with Kurt - he was joking and trying to make a friend. They both were going to be in this big new city next year - it's easier and less scary if you already know someone. Blaine ruined it for them.

9. Kurt is a great cook, can bake and knows how to fix cars (even if he doesn't like to get dirty). He's also fluent in French.

10. The backstory created by actor portraying Adam (Oliver Kieran-Jones) - all true, this is exactly how it is. I also completely ignore the moment that says he kicked Kurt out of Adam's Apples when he found out Kurt was engaged. Adam is a nice fella. He wouldn't. Kurt left after break up so none of them feel more hurt. Or something. But Adam kicked Kurt out? Nope. Never happened.

I think I'll stop on this ten. There's a lot more in my mind, but if I tried to write down everything - I will need the whole night if not more 😅 And you did ask for some favourites, not all of them.

BIO

Henri was born In France and lived there his whole life. His parents are wealthy and influential, so he was able to grow up comfortably. He also got to grow up in the same social circle as the Smythe family, which entangled him in their web. Unfortunately, his first love was Sebastian Smythe and that led him to an incredible amount of heartache. He thought they were in love, he knew he was, and then Sebastian broke up with him.

From then on, he erred on the side of caution and avoided romance. He didn't really need it. Life could be lived without it. And he was a Dom, so he didn't need to cozy up to anyone to get anything. So he didn't. Soon enough, Sebastian was gone anyway, and he was actually relieved. Having the man he loved flirting with the entire room while he was standing right there hadn't felt very good, especially after their breakup.

His mother wanted him to follow his dreams. His father wanted him to be fiscally responsible and carry on the Laurent legacy. Caught in the middle and not wanting to disappoint anyone, he ended up claiming someone simply for the convenience and to be able to satisfy his father. He has never loved this sub, never kissed him or had sex with him. He is there for service and nothing more. As far as others are concerned, he's pretty cold now. He doesn't let anyone close, though he does find it easy to make friends.

At his mother's request, he booked himself a flight to go see somewhere new. She could see her son freezing over and knew that he was much kinder and sweeter than he let on and she was afraid that if things kept on the same, he would be that way forever. Now he's here, and with his father's influence he made sure to set himself up well so that he wouldn't have to worry about how he was going to survive. When he arrived, he already had a home paid for, a restaurant site bought and paid for, and connections planned to get the restaurant up and running.

What made your character want to get involved in PROJECTREAL? Xander learned his brother was doing the show and decided to do the same. He also has always been interested in competing on a show like this, and is a big fan of reality tv secretly.

What is your character most looking forward to during the show? Xander is looking forward to learning more about himself, spending time with his brother, and the ability to give to charity.

Is there anything your character is nervous about? Xander is nervous about not doing well in the challenges.

Does your character have a strategy for getting through to the end? Or are they simply playing from the heart? Xander is playing from the heart. Even though he feels like he should have a strategy (he is a Smythe), he doesn't know where to begin.

Why did your character choose the charity they chose? Xander chose the charity he chose because he is passionate about making sure that food insecurities across the country are resolved.

✎ BRIEF BIOGRAPHY The Smythe family was a well known, wealthy family throughout Ohio and surrounding states due to their strong, political standing. Sebastian was born in Paris under the name Sébastien James Smythe, but later changed it to “Sebastian” to make it easier to live in America, where he and his mother immigrated to when he was just a few years old to support the Smythe father in his climb to the top. Being the son of an ascending political figure and a French immigrant meant that even from a young age, Sebastian was meant to keep up appearances at any given time. To the public, they were a close, loving, tight knit family with true “American family values”. And, while his parents weren’t abusive by any means, they were unintentionally neglectful despite genuinely loving their son. The majority of Sebastian’s childhood was spent with babysitters, and he’d see his parents on and off throughout the day when they weren’t busy with other things. When he was a little older, his parents decided to call their marriage quits thanks to work schedules causing them to drift apart. Or, at least that’s what the public was told. The truth was, his father had begun staying out late, far past when he was supposed to be home, and it didn’t take long for the truth to privately come out to the Smythe mother that affairs were being had. After the divorce and custody agreement were finalized, Sebastian was on a plane with his mom, en route back to Paris. He’d spend the next several years until the age of 18 staying with his mother during the year before returning to America every Summer to stay with his father. Eventually, after moving back to America full time at the age of 19 to start his degree in law, he decided to take a break after two years and enroll at the sanctuary in an attempt to get a change of scenery, meet new people and advance his knowledge about D/s mechanics.

HEADCANONS

1. Hunter doesn’t like nicknames.  He calls his father and grandfather by their ranks, his mother “Mother”.  He does call his grandmother Nana Hen though.  An indication of their close relationship.  Allows a few people to call him Hunt.  Will answer to Clarington, Captain, and Hunter.  (Might allow other nicknames based on previous relationships- to be discussed prior to using it)

2.  Being a military family, Hunter has bounced around every 2-3 years, including overseas twice.  {Savannah, Georgia- Fort Brag, NC- Fort Bliss, Texas- Fort Hamiliton, NY- RAF Alconbury, UK- Fort Schafter, HI - Fort Lewis, WA-  NSA Souda Bay, Greece- Colorado Springs, CO- Lima, OH- West Point, NY}

3.  Hunter left Dalton and Westerville disgraced.  The steroids’ cheating scandal that he was the face of shook the school.  There is more to the story, but it was covered up for various reasons. Hunter can’t talk about it.  He doesn’t want to talk about it.  

4. Thanks to his family’s name and money, Hunter went from Dalton to West Point Prep School.  West Point’s regular drug testing ensured that Hunter wasn’t at risk for falling into a pattern of drug use or abuse.  After finishing his prep school degree, Hunter stayed at West Point for his undergraduate degree with a dual major in American Politics and International Affairs.  Hunter then went after a PhD in the same so he could stay on at West Point as a Professor and Drill Instructor.  He enjoys the military life, but after 13 years, it’s nice to have a place that feels like home; to have some roots.

5.  While at Dalton Hunter called himself ‘not even remotely bicurious’ but this was actually not true at all.  Hunter was just, even at a teenager, discrete about his orientation and he remains so, although he has dated and slept with a couple of women and men.  However, his sexual/romantic interest in either gender is only truly sparked by an established emotional connection

PARENTS:  Colonel Michael Grant Clarington II and  Anne-Marie Elizabeth Clarington (nee:Wilson)  Very strained relationship.  While Hunter has followed the “expected” path for him, it is never enough.  They are disappointed he is not yet a family man.  And they are unaware of his romantic and sexual orientation.   OTHER IMPORTANT FAMILY: Nana Hen (Henrietta Clarington- father’s mother) She is more like his mother than grandmother, and it is her opinion that he values the most. She knows everything about her grandson. She has had several white Persian cats, one of which he had with him at Dalton. BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND: Cameron Davis (ex boyfriend).  Cameron and Hunter were classmates at West Point.  They both were the top of their class, always competing for the top spot.  ‘Keep your friends close and your enemies(or competitors) closer’ Hunter befriended the other cadet.  They became the kind of study partners that pushed each other and long nights studying and working, with early morning runs and workouts sparked an intense attraction they both finally acted on.  They kept things discrete, but there were rumors, there were always rumors Hunter found.  Unlike Hunter though, Cameron’s family knew he was bisexual and the relationship ended when Hunter wouldn’t come out to his family, and Hunter stayed at West Point, while Cameron took his first commissioned post.  They remain somewhat friendly.   CLOSE FRIEND: Sebastian Smythe (ex roommate at Dalton, Warbler co-captain.)  Not that Hunter ever would admit to anything, but Sebastian was the closest thing to a best friend Hunter ever had.  Until Cameron.  Hunter also didn’t like to admit that Sebastian was his co-captain of the Warblers, because he did not need help as a leader.  There were always rumors about their exact relationship, not helped by the fact that Sebastian was a shameless flirt, but neither of them ever admitted to anything but a possibly hostile friendship/co-captains/awkward roommates.

She was intelligent and she watched, listened, and learned. She learned by watching her father on the phone, in his office, in meetings speaking directly to the other elites. As a child, she listened instead of talked, and allowed her father to treat her like an absolute princess who could do no wrong. She constantly put on a sweet smile and charmed her way into getting anything she wanted, and she was smart and tactical about it so her father didn’t recognize just how much he had inadvertently taught her. Brooklyn never made a move without knowing exactly what her next four moves were going to be. She became excellent at reading everyone - humans, vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters alike, - excellent at faking emotions, and excellent at repressing anything that she deemed unacceptable. 

By the time Brooklyn was 16, she knew exactly how interesting it was to see just how much control she could have over one person or a situation. When she turned 17, she fell in love with a 24-year-old-appearing vampire named Carter. He was the first one besides Sebastian that she didn’t have to worry about having a mask on all the time with. It was fast, but seeing her potential and how well she worked and controlled people without even using her vampiric abilities, Carter took Brooklyn under his wing and showed her everything there was to know about the (albeit surprising) drug ring in New Orleans. Soon enough, Brooklyn was not just the daughter of one of the most powerful Lamia vampire families, but she joined Carter as two of the most powerful people underground at only 17. 

Things with Carter soon started to get messy. Brooklyn was never one to let things get entirely out of her control but her relationship with carter was quickly crumbling into chaos. He was a stronger and older vampire than her, and he somehow had reigned complete control over her. Carter was sadistic, and he had changed from the man Brooklyn first fell in love with. Brooklyn had let her guard down for him, and he used that to his advantage in such a way that Brooke didn’t know just how fucked she was. One day, Brooke realized she wasn’t in control of pretty much anything in her life anymore. She had lost at her own game and she was terrified. She would do drug transfers and went to meetings with Carter as his ‘loving, adoring wife’ who supposedly knew nothing about what the men in the room were talking about. She would sit and play her part, seducing men into buying from Carter, and god forbid they refused her advances and send Carter into a rage. And admittedly, she could handle it. The thing she couldn’t handle was not being in control. So Brooke was stuck - she wasn’t with her family, Carter had taken her out of New Orleans and isolated her from everyone she knew. 

Eventually she somehow managed to leave and has been living (see: hiding) at her parents’ ever since. No one knows about her relationship with Carter besides her family (and they only know bits and pieces), and she intends to keep it that way. She never thought about asking Sebastian for help because if there’s one thing Brooklyn cares about more deeply than anything or anyone else in the world, it’s her brother. So now, she plays the role of the perfect daughter and hopes every day that Carter doesn’t find her. She’s finally feeling like herself again, despite being a little bit a manipulative bitch.

biography:

growing up, sebastian was always considered to be the favorite child. while his father left the scene not too long after he and his twin sister were born, his mother was constantly showering him in affection, though she never seemed to have much left over for his sister. the praise definitely went to his head, and his ego only gets bigger every passing year.

the feelings of others is not something sebastian really takes into all that much consideration. he’s much more focused on himself, and the second someone is no longer of any use to him, he tends to drop them without a second thought.

despite working in the same, crappy bar, as his friends, he believes that he’s far superior to them. he considers himself to be the leader of the group, and is pretty sure they’d be nowhere without him. he sees himself as something of a legend, a god, even, and tends to life the sort of lifestyle that he believes is fit for one.

”artemis” one night stand - though "dennis” will deny it if “artemis” ever tries to bring it up, the two of them slept together about a year ago, and she kind of rocked his world. from time to time, he still remembers the evening fondly, at least for a second, before the emotions turn to disgust (or so he claims to himself) once again.

“charlie”: childhood friend - even when they were kids, "dennis” never really seemed to get “charlie”, but somehow they’ve remained friends. possibly just so "dennis” can say that he has more than one friend, but regardless, they’ve stuck around in each other’s lives, and at any rate, “dennis” at least finds him entertaining.

“dee”: twin sister - from the minute they were conceived, “dee” and "dennis” have been in competition, with "dennis”, at least in his opinion - and the opinion of their mother, always coming out on top. there is the rare moment where they team up, but it never quite seems to last.

“frank”: friend? - “frank” is probably the person in the gang that "dennis” is the least close to, because it often feels like he’s trying to take over and become in charge, because he’s the oldest, which is something that "dennis”, the self-appointed leader of the gang, absolutely despises.

“mac”: best friend; roommate - "dennis” and “mac” met in elementary school, and instantly formed a bond. though "dennis” definitely sees mac as more of his sidekick, rather than his equal, at the end of the day he’s probably closer to “mac” than he is anyone else in his life. in fact, the two are often referred to as an ‘old married couple’, much to "dennis’s” dismay.

BIO

Henri was born In France and lived there his whole life. His parents are wealthy and influential, so he was able to grow up comfortably. He also got to grow up in the same social circle as the Smythe family, which entangled him in their web. Unfortunately, his first love was Sebastian Smythe and that led him to an incredible amount of heartache. He thought they were in love, he knew he was, and then Sebastian broke up with him.

From then on, he erred on the side of caution and avoided romance. He didn’t really need it. Life could be lived without it. And he was a Dom, so he didn’t need to cozy up to anyone to get anything. So he didn’t. Soon enough, Sebastian was gone anyway, and he was actually relieved. Having the man he loved flirting with the entire room while he was standing right there hadn’t felt very good, especially after their breakup.

His mother wanted him to follow his dreams. His father wanted him to be fiscally responsible and carry on the Laurent legacy. Caught in the middle and not wanting to disappoint anyone, he ended up claiming someone simply for the convenience and to be able to satisfy his father. He has never loved this sub, never kissed him or had sex with him. He is there for service and nothing more. As far as others are concerned, he’s pretty cold now. He doesn’t let anyone close, though he does find it easy to make friends.

At his mother’s request, he booked himself a flight to go see somewhere new. She could see her son freezing over and knew that he was much kinder and sweeter than he let on and she was afraid that if things kept on the same, he would be that way forever. Now he’s here, and with his father’s influence he made sure to set himself up well so that he wouldn’t have to worry about how he was going to survive. When he arrived, he already had a home paid for, a restaurant site bought and paid for, and connections planned to get the restaurant up and running.

Info: tristan smythe has always lived in the shadow of his older twin brother, and he’s never minded that. life in sebastian’s shadow meant safety and the comfort of a best friend that was built into his dna. from a young age tristan was different though, quiet and shy and artistic he found he best expressed himself when his brush was against the canvas. and it was a talent that both his brother and mother fostered as he grew into adolescence. when sebastian left home for college, tristan followed him to new york, attending art school and finally finding independence where her developed into the person he is now. despite his new found sense of confidence, when it came to his best friend and twin brother, when sebastian moved all the way to florida, tristan wasn’t far behind, eventually moving in with sebastian, and just like before with his encouragement deciding to put all his passion and energy into his art.
