Performances from 8-30 December at the Limelight Theatre, Queens Park Arts Centre.

you know the drill! i'll discuss 5 kpop songs i'm currently obsessed with! let's begin with my ults!

really bad boy (rbb) - red velvet look im obsessed with this song all the time but i have to talk about it this week. rbb deserved more than it got. that era was the best red velvet era hands down. they show offed their really good dance skills, their vocals, and literally (imo) their best bridge. I love rbb and everything about rbb. it needs no further explanation other than go listen to the song

abracadabra - yooa i don't know much about oh my girl but they always make bop of music and i love yooa's solo stuff especially. abracadabra is my thing. the anti drop adds so much swag and yooa herself has such a cool and swag voice. i listened to this on a walk this sunday and i was so upset i couldn't figure out how to loop it on my phone. i highly reccomend

someone a - yoon sang i have no idea who this dude is. genuinely no idea who he is and what kind of person he is BUT OMG THIS SONG. this song is my jam. i love everything about this song. if this song didn't exist i'd cry. i listen to this everytime i go on a walk, everytime i awnt to sleep, this song is playing before i queue up red velvet. it's so chill but makes me want to cry and i don't know why

12 o' clock - wjsn idk what wjsn puts in their songs but they should keep putting it in when they go into the recording studio because i love this song. it's so satisfying to listen to while i'm on my way to school and walking up the school with my wjsn playing. idk how to describe the song, but it's very wjsn and wjsn is good!

pantomine - wjsn i feel like i should say, i don't hate or love the anti drop. i love extremely busy and loud choruses but when used properly i think that the anti drop is super useful and adds flair to songs. pantomine sums this up. the way they use the anti drop with their vocals is exactly what i want to see and why im obsessed with it

thats it! i'll try and spice up these more, add more songs that aren't just wjsn and red velvet but i really love those two groups and their discography especially so we'll have to see what happens next week!

Back from service, chilling and scrolling through my December dumps to find This pics...😍 As a Thespian, this meant so much to me as I got to see my first Christmas Pantomime at the Paladium Theatre recently… titled "Jack and the Beanstalk”😂. It was so beautiful, the asthethics, scenery, costume grandeur, light and sound effects, and the bonus of having @alexanderburke with other amazing stars on stage was the icing of the cake. They were singing an altered version of the 12 Days of Christmas and for the fifth day they had toilet paper and they swung it round.

Except when he swung it round it flew out of his hand and hit a baby on the head.

Villain/ess Backstories for Jafar and his sister Nasira this time! (Nasira is from a 2001 video game called "Nasira's Revenge")

Jafar grew up on the streets with his twin sister Nasira, similar to Aladdin, but their experiences made hard and cruel, contemptuous of those who weren't willing or able to stab others in the back to survive, instead of becoming compassionate like Aladdin chose to be

They were eventually taken in as servants by a dark wizard called, Abanazar, who once had a genie in a ring but lost it, and was obsessed with finding a new genie, leading to Jafar's interest in them as well

Jafar and Nasira began learning magic by secretly observing Abanazar at work. He eventually caught them, but rather then throwing them out or turning them into toads or something he decided to hone their abilities, putting them to work stealing magical artifacts for him, with a mentality of "if they paid good enough attention in their lessons they'll survive, if they didn't they won't. And either way I won't be risking my neck so it's a win-win"

It was during one of these excursions that Jafar discovered his snake staff, an ancient artifact that even Abanazar didn't realize the full power of--until Jafar used it to learn all of the magical secrets Abanazar had kept for himself. After which Jafar "retired" his old teacher, no longer needing him.

Nasira prefered to work on the outskirts of society, feeling more free from the constraints placed on her as a woman, but Jafar desired the power and prestige that came from climbing the ranks, even if it meant he had to keep his magic secret or at least low-key, which is how/why he became the Grand Vizir, quickly rising through the political levels thru his mix of magic and malicious cunning

Iago used to be a normal parrot, Jafar bought him from a bazaar and infused him with magic to be his familiar, granting him the ability to speak

(There's a possibility that Abu was the result of a similar magical experiment. Not by Jafar but by some other magician who later lost him, thus explaining why Abu is much more vocal/intelligent then most animals. Possibly some of Jafar's residual magic rubbed off on Raja as well)

1. Favourite character and your favourite outfit of theirs?

this is like asking me to pick a favourite child! like, objectively it's steve harrington, he's the most character to ever character, he has the worst day of his life, finds out monsters are real (contributing to the worst day ever tm) and decides to become a better person than even the narrative gave him credit for all in the same 24 hours and then proceeds to martyr himself at every opportunity and adopt a bunch of half feral traumatised middle schoolers and he's lived in my head rent free since 2016. but then there's robin, because how can you have steve without robin or robin without steve, it just wouldn't be right! and besides that she is a code cracking ice musical genius who is good and kind and a little bit mean and brilliant and after one truly horrendous life or death situation she decides steve is her person and she will follow him into all subsequent life or death situations starting immediately and also into all future employment situations which amounts to the same thing. and honestly i could do this for nancy, lucas, max and mike as well, but i fear the rambling would take over and the wall of text would be too much, so here, have a favourite steve and robin outfit and we can all go about our days like i'm not in way too deep for so so many of these characters.

16. Favourite song in Stranger Things?

it's gotta be heroes playing when they find "will's" body. that needle drop haunts me. the kids' acting in that scene, the horror of that on first viewing has not been dimmed over time! i watched s1 a couple of months ago and it still winds me! it's painful, but so so very good

18. Least favourite character?

this is such an interesting question! there are so many characters that dislike in the show, but who are not meant to be likeable, so they're functioning well, they're doing what they're meant to be doing. i find ted wheeler insufferable, dr brenner is reprehensible, troy makes me furious, and yuri gave me nothing, but again, they're kind of doing their job.

i think my least favourite character would have to be billy, in large part because parts of the fandom (and occasionally the show) want to brush over truly heinous things he's done because they think he's hot. i have zero time for billy.

and from a slightly different, i think after they gave us tommy and carol, two incredibly interesting characters, angela as a cardboard cutout high school bully in s4 fell really flat for me
