“You’ll come, right?” Sunghoon tilted his head at the sudden question from his best friend. He twist his head and looked at him with confused face.
“Are you kidding me? I wouldn’t miss it for the world, dude.” he smiles and gave him a light tap over his shoulder.
His friend smirked and chuckles. He seemed relieved after hearing from him that he won’t miss their wedding. Sunghoon couldn’t believe that he actually asked him that. He’s his best friend, of course he will go.
His smile faltered as the thought of his friend finally settling down finally sinked into him. The memories of them enjoying their college life was almost as clear as the water for him. Those wild things they do together, troubles they cause, hearts of girls they broken.
Suddenly, your familiar pretty face flashes through his mind. He can’t help but to furrow his brows and clench his jaw. He shouldn’t be thinking about someone who’s not present. They should be celebrating because finally, Jake will be married to the love of his life. Sunghoon thought to himself that there’s no point to having such a foul mood.
He enjoyed the night with his friends, all of them rooting for Jake. He’s opening a new chapter of his life. Some of them even joked that things will start to change once he put a ring on his girlfriend’s finger. His life will shift in a very different way.
“Having fun?” Sunghoon have his smirk plastered as he wrapped his arm around his friend’s shoulder.
The light’s flickering around are hurting their eyes a bit, but that’s the least of their concern. Tonight will be the last time they all get to enjoy Jake’s freedom before he actually commit to one woman in his entire life.
Jake twists his head towards him while holding a glass of liqour over his hand. His friend smiled playfully, “Very. Thank you for joining me in this memorable night man.”
Jay, one of their best friends approached and did their hand shakes with a teasing smile. “Now you wouldn’t cry like a baby because of it, right?” he said with a taunting tone.
Sunghoon laughed together with Jay while Jake hit his friend over to the shoulder. Heeseung, who’s the one busy getting their drinks finally arrived at their vip room they all rented for their friend. The man cheered, showing a very mischievous smirk.
“Jake, my man!” he shouted and even asked the star of the night to stand up beside him.
Sunghoon chuckled and rolled his eyes before tapping his friend, encouraging him to do what Heeseung asked him to do. They cheered together as the oldest of them even recite some speech which they find hilarous and nonsense at the same time. As they all tease and goof around like they normally do, the door to their v.i.p room opened.
“That’s what I’m talking about!” Jay cheered and even stood up.
Sunoo laughed together with Ni-ki while Jungwon just shakes his head, a playful smirk spreading across his handsome face. Girls, entered the room as a sensual music started to play as a background music.
“What the hell Lee Heeseung?” Jake exclaimed and even covered his face, embarrassed, after some girls surrounded him. They started dancing around him as they all cheered and laughed at how awkward and stiff Jake looked.
Heeseung lets out a bark of laughter while watching his friend. Jay is now beside him, clearly enjoying the view as well.
“Dance with me too, ladies!” Jay shouted.
Sunghoon rolled his eyes and finish his drink. The special number finally ended and now, the atmosphere is more calm. Some of the ladies chose to stay and accompany some of their single friends while Jake went back to sit beside Sunghoon.
He scoffed, “Seems like you had the best time of your life.”
Jake lets out a sarcastic chuckle, “Fuck, Heeseung hyung really did take it to heart when my Dad told him to give me the night of my life before my wedding.”
Sunghoon chuckles while handing his friend another glass of liqour. Jake accepted and smirked at him.
“Cheers to you, brother. Congratulations.”
Jake smiled while looking at his friend’s cold blank eyes. He is smirking and his words may sound cheerful, but how come it came out a bit lifeless. Sunghoon was never like this. He used to be someone with a lot of fun, someone who live his life to the fullest. But all that changed, after you.
“Thank you.” Jake and they both bottoms up. Together, they groan at the awful taste and grabbed each a lemon to ease it down.
Laughing at one another, both of them soon looked over to their friends who’s having fun and enjoying the night. As Sunghoon silently watch the scene, Jake can’t help, but to look at his friend.
“Have you heard from her?” he asked, a bit hesitant.
He saw how Sunghoon’s expressions changed. “From who?” he then grabbed another drink to shake off the nervous feeling. Jake knew he pretty damn well know who he was talking about. He’s just too scared to talk about her again.
“Y/n.” Jake said that made Sunghoon halt his hand from pouring another drink for himself.
Its been years every since he heard your name again. He thought he was okay already, but he was wrong. Completely wrong. A lot may think he already moved on, but what they’re not aware of is that he was left stuck. He was left unmoved from where you left him. Feelings not changed, questions unanswered and promises not kept. He was just there... hanging.
Sunghoon clenched his jaw and glanced at his glass, “No.” he answered shortly, cutting any possible other additional questions.
Jake felt bad for his friend. Ever since you left, he didn’t have any other serious relationships. He may appear that he’s doing well, but something in him changed.
“Didn’t you try to search for her?” he asked, couldn’t help himself.
Jake doesn’t really care if Sunghoon gets annoyed with it or what. He just wants the best for his friend and he knows talking to you or getting to fix whatever’s between the two of you will help a lot.
“I don’t w-want to.” he uttered, letting out a sigh after stuttering through his own words.
Jake pursed his lips and tapped his friend’s shoulder. “Okay. I hope soon, you two get to talk about things.” was the last thing he said before he was called by Heeseung to open some of their gifts for him.
Even if the party goes on, what Jake said played through Sunghoon’s mind like a broken record. He’s not very sure if how he will act the moment he saw you again. Will he cage you in his warm embrace? Will he finally say the things he wanted to really tell you before you left? Or will he just stood there, being a scaredy cat to approach you?
He grunt and shut his eyes for a while before finally pouring another drink for himself. He needs to chill and forget about these things. If he kept you in his system, he won’t be able to get some sleep later.
The night continued and soon the mood became lighter for him. As they finally call it a night, they were laughing and striding their way over the hotel’s lobby. Heeseung and Jay have to support the very drunk Ni-ki.
“You sure you guys can handle him?” Sunghoon asked smirking at the younger one who’s even mumbling incoherent words.
Jay laughed and nodded his head. “You?”
“I’m good.”
“Are you going with us to Yeonjun’s party after Jake’s wedding?” Heeseung then asked while they placed Ni-ki carefully at a chair.
Sunghoon pursed his lips, trying to remember the days properly and if he have schedule for that day.
“What day is that again?”
“Saturday dude.”
Sunghoon smirked, “Can’t.”
Jay was quick to react and boo him, “Why not?”
“Have to go home this weekend.”
Jungwon who just walked closer and happen to hear what he said smirked, “Since when did you really went home when they asked you, hyung?”
He shrugged his shoulders off before putting his hands inside his pocket, “My brother will come home with his wife.”
All of them that hears furrowed their brows hardly, confusion reflects their expressions.
“Seungyun hyung already got married?” all of their tones were surprised.
He can’t blame his friends. He was actually surprised when he heard about it himself. Well, his brother was always family oriented and someone who’s looking forward to having family.
He fished the key to his ferrari before he glanced back to his friends having this blank face, “I guess so.”
Heeseung snorted at the way Sunghoon responded. They all bid goodbyes and went inside their own cars. Sunghoon lets out a sigh right after finally being alone.
He sighed and rested his back to the chair of his car. He raised both of his hands and face palmed. He had fun, but he won’t deny that he got pretty tired. Not to mention that you’ve been brought up in the conversation a while ago. Something that rarely happens.
Sunghoon huffed and as he opens his eyes back, it directly darted at his wallet. He reached over it and opened it to see the only picture you two that was left to him. You were clinging to him happily, having your biggest and prettiest smile. On the other hand, he was smirking and trying to make it seem like he’s annoyed.
Sunghoon scoffed and flicked himself in that picture, “Why you have to be so denial that you’re the happiest when you’re with her?” he mumbled to himself and bite over his lower lip.
“Now, we got to suffer because we lost her.”
“Sunghoon, I’m glad you’re home.” his Mom was the first one who greets him the moment he arrives. He didn’t react and just accept her hugs. It was supposed to make him feel warmth, but nothing came along with it.
When she pulls away, she cups his face and stares at him. He admits its been a while ever since he left the house and live on his own. After that, he rarely comes home to visit his parents. He’s not so sure if its because he’s too lazy to drive or he plainly just wants to avoid them.
“Its good to know you still know your way home.” his cold eyes slowly trailed towards his Dad who popped out from his office.
His Mom twists her head at his direction and tried to tell him off. Sunghoon smirked, unbothered at how bitter and sarcastic his father’s tone was. He was used to it. It was always like this every since he was a child. His Dad was always cold towards him.
Back when he was a child, it bothers him a lot. He wonders what he did wrong for him to act like that, but slowly he grew tired of trying to figure that out. He just put to his mind that maybe he’s just really like that and there’s nothing he can do about it.
His Mom on the other hand, is much better. She does give him affection and attention from time to time. But she’s more in favor to his older brother. Before he envy him a lot because of it, but just like with his Dad, he grew tired of it. Sunghoon learned that life can be really unfair and he learned it in a hard way.
“Hello to you too, Dad.” he said, a bit taunting. His father’s eyes darken and jaw clenches.
“Your mother asked you to come home a lot of times and you only came now? Don’t you have any remaining respect towards us?” his Mom lets go from his arm to go approach his Dad to calm him down.
Sunghoon stopped himself from saying more words to prevent a much heated conversation to escalate. He doesn’t want his Mom to be stressed out and besides, its just a waste of energy.
He rolled his eyes, tearing his gaze away from his father. He turned his back and started making his way towards the staircase. He can still hear his Dad trying to call his name while his Mom tries to shush him. He ignored it and strides towards the familiar hallway of their mansion.
As he made his way over his old room, he noticed that it brings up a lot of memories. His placid face remains as he was certain none of them was good memories of him. These decorations, picture frames and walls were the ones witnessing how this household turns him into someone cold. Someone who’s used to pushing people away from him.
He threw himself over his king sized bed and stared at the ceiling. His mind was blank. He may be labelled as one of the hottest uprising bachelors of his batch, but none of that matters because he knew what he wants.
On the other hand, you are making a last checkings through the things you just packed because you’ll be having your flight tomorrow. Finally, you’ll be able to meet your husband’s family. It may sound really odd why you married without any of them attending, but things just happened pretty quickly.
Your hand halted from what you were about to do as you suddenly had a flashback of the things happened these past months. Slowly, it is really sinking unto you. How things between you and Seungyun escalated very fast. Somehow, you’re getting a little overwhelmed.
You shut your eyes and lightly shakes your head, “No. What are you saying, y/n? Seungyun loves you and you love him. He finally gave you the assurance you wanted.” you mumbled to yourself. It was more like a chant, making your mind process all of that to prevent you from overthinking.
Your head twists over to the door of your shared room when it opened. A smile appears across your face seeing your husband walks inside. “Hi.” he greeted.
“Hello.” and your eyes darted over to the thing he was holding. “What’s that?” you asked.
He smiled and walked towards you. “Time for a little review for you, sweetheart.” he said as he finally settles down at the edge of your shared bed.
With confused eyes, you stare at him. He chuckled, finding you adorable. He taps the space beside him and so you obliged right away. After sitting down, you saw that he was holding a photo.
“Are they your parents?” you asked very curious as your smile grew even bigger.
He nodded and you noticed how he gulped. “Also, I want you to know that I have a younger brother.” he twists his head to look at your face.
With puzzled look, you kept your stares at him. You couldn’t even make up for words to say after hearing about it. You understand that you two are just starting, but to actually telling about his brother just right now was a little bothering for you.
“Why d-didn’t you tell me about it earlier? How old is he?” you asked and licked your lower lip, brows furrowing.
He sighed, he expected for you to react this way. He admits that what he did is just a bit awful. You’re his wife and he should’ve said so right away. Its just... both of them don’t get along that well. He was always indenial by the fact that he envied him for living the life he wanted. The life not controlled by their parents.
“Same age as you.”
You stayed silent. It didn’t actually occurred to your mind that his younger brother would be the same age as you. Yes he is years older than you, so it will actually made sense if he have a sibling around your age but you just don’t know why for some reasons you thought it would be a kid. You shut your eyes and sighed.
“I’m sorry. Its just... the two of us don’t get along well.” he said consoling you and even gently reached for your hand to caress it.
You opened your eyes only to see his apologetic ones. It soothes your heart, feeling bad for looking upset for this matter. His reason is a bit understandable. Sometimes, siblings do really don’t get along well. You’ve heard a same story as well before...
Shoving that thought away, you sighed again and pursed your lips for a while as you think about the words to say.
“Its fine. I just don’t want anything to ruin our stay in your hometown.” you explained. He nodded, completely understanding it as well. In the short period of time being around you, he noticed how you hate it when things are beyond your control. You’re not too fond of uncertain things.
You flashes a smile after he dropped a small kiss at your head. “Can you at least show me a picture of him so I would know what he looks like? Is he as handsome as you?”
A small smile spreads across his face as he tries to pull his phone our from his pocket to show you a picture of his brother.
But the smile over your lips faltered and your mind instantly went blank the moment he showed you the picture of him. Park Sunghoon. Your ex boyfriend.
“Hey,” he noticed that you’ve spaced out.
Finally snapped back to your senses, “Y-Yeah?”
“Are you okay? You look a little pale.” he said worried.
You gave him a fake smile, “U-Uh, yes. I’m okay. Maybe I’m just tired because of all the packing.” you reasoned out and your eyes dropped at his phone once again.
There, flashes Sunghoon’s photo. As always, he looked so ethereal with his visual. Even in photos, he refused to flash his pretty smiles. Its been years ever since you last saw him so you’re pretty sure he changed a lot. He became more bulky as well and you won’t lie, all those years that passed just do him all good. He seemed to be doing really well.
“H-He looks nothing like you.” you mumbled.
Definitely. The main reason this news a shock to you was because you can see no hint of Seungyun being related to Sunghoon, more or less his brother. You couldn’t even tell any similarities. Even with their personalities, no traits are the same.
Your husband chuckles, “We’ve been told. He looks so much like my Dad while I take after my Mom.”
You didn’t say anything more and just lets your mind wanders off. Slowly he slid his arm over your waist and pulled you closer to him. You rest your head over his chest as Sunghoon slowly gets into your system once again.
After years of avoiding and trying to get over him, you ended up seeing him again the moment you return the country. Destiny do play dirty.
“I’m nervous to meet your family.” you speaks out your mind.
You are already nervous meeting his parents, but right after knowing that his brother was your ex boyfriend, you wanted so bad to back-out.
“It’s going to be fine.” he assured you and again placed a kiss at your forehead.
You really hope so.
“Where are you going?” his Mom asked while he slowly went downstairs. His hands were inside his pockets, wearing his placid expression he stared at his mother.
“We’ll be going to have dinner together with your brother later. We already reserved in his favorite restaurant.” she added.
Sunghoon almost let out a snort, “Of course you did.” he mumbles to himself, his mother failing to hear it.
She tilted her head, “What did you say?”
He smirked, “I said I’ll be there in time, Mom. I will just go somewhere real quick.” he said and even gave her a kiss at her forehead.
Gladly, she really did let him off. Sunghoon wanted to get some fresh air because he knows the dinner later would be very stressful for him. When he moved out from that house, he found freedom. It was hard for him to go back from time to time because it reminds him of the suffocating and cold childhood of his.
When its dinner time, Sunghoon drove towards his brother’s favorite restaurant. He was sure he already prepared himself for the things that about to happen. He expected the worst. But he surely didn’t expect what he just saw the moment he walked over the table where his family was sitting.
Its his brother and beside him was the girl he was longing for. He felt his whole body paralyzing, air leaving his lungs, words unable to come out from his lips. He was beyond surprised.
“Sunghoon! Son, you are right in time!” his mother looked so excited as she stood up to greet him and make him sit as well.
He can see his father’s piercing gaze by the side, but it was the last of his concern. You, is what bothers him the most. Why... are you here?
He saw how nervous you looked the moment his mother said his name. You kept your eyes over at your plate while his brother looked at him, watching his every move.
“This is y/n! Isn’t she very pretty? She’s your brother’s wife!”
Sunghoon chest tightens at what he just heard. His ears ringed and he couldn’t help but to show a displeased expression. He don’t how to react exactly, his emotions were all in a mess.
He felt betrayed, hurt and angry. But out of all those emotions, his heart aches seeing you this close, but felt like you are far from him at the same time.
When you lift your head and met gaze with him, he almost lose it. Those eyes... those eyes that only used to look at him with love and affection now stare at him with sadness.
He opened his lips, about to say something but you flash him this small smile.
“Hello, Sunghoon. Nice to meet you, I’m y/n.” you introduced yourself.
From there, he understands that you wanted to act like you two don’t know each other. He clenched his jaw and drained all his emotions from his eyes. He pursed his lips and nodded his head before the waiters finally served the food, breaking any possible topic to arise.
The dinner continued and you can feel the intense atmosphere, but you know its only between you and Sunghoon. You kept your eyes darted at your food and gazes over his parents whenever they ask you something.
It was obviously an awkward one for you and you are not having it. And having him stare at you are not helping at all.
You sighed and stood up, your husband and his Dad were having a conversation but interrupted when they noticed you.
“Where are you going?” Seungyun asked.
“Bathroom break.” you whispered and then looked at his parents. “Excuse me.” and smiled at them.
You finally lets out a sigh of relief the moment you arrived at the bathroom and got yourself out from that suffocating table.
You stared at your own reflection and instantly, the look over Sunghoon’s face flashes back through your mind. He looked surprised for a bit while, the first time you’ve seen him show that kind of face. You don’t know, but when he dangerously gaze at you the moment his mother announces you are his brother’s wife makes you feel something over your stomach.
You shut your eyes and tried pulling yourself together. You knew seeing him again would make you feel things, but you also know you need to resist it. No matter what happen, you have to keep your acts straight. You aren’t the same y/n who’s crazy in love with Sunghoon. That was years ago, you are so much better than that.
Finally, made up your mind. You planned to walk back to the dinner. You gave one last glance at your reflection before opening the door to the bathroom so you can go out.
Your eyes grew big when you saw Sunghoon’s figure leaning by the wall just in front the women’s bathroom. You are about to ignore him, but when he saw you walking out he suddenly walked towards you.
Panic consumes you as he pushed you back inside and went together with you, closing the bathroom’s door along with him.
“What do you think are you doing?!” you panicked.
His eyes darted at you dangerously, he licked his lips and clenching his jaw. He seemed so upset.
“I see you end up marrying my brother, huh?” you got a little startled when you heard his familiar low voice.
You sighed, “Please, Sunghoon. Don’t make things complicated.” you begged, because you know him very well. Sunghoon enjoys thrill, that’s one thing.
He scoffed, “Its already complicated the moment you married my brother.” bitterness lured through every words he says.
“You think I wanted that? I didn’t even know you’re his brother, not until last night!”
He let out a sarcastic laugh, “Oh so you’re telling me that you married someone without even knowing his family background?!” he argued back, disappointment can be heard from him.
“That’s not something my y/n would do.” he added. Your heart skipped, but you tried to look pissed about him.
“Well, there’s no your y/n anymore, Sunghoon.” you fired back that left him silent.
He took a step forward that caused you to take one back. Another one, and you took one as well until your back met the cold walm of the bathroom. You gulped nervously as his manly familiar scent invaded your nose.
Your heart aches as memories drown you the moment you smelled him. It reminds you about alot of things.
You thought it was already so much, but when he raised his hand and grazed his hand over your face, it made you feel millions of electricity. The same exact thing he makes you feel back when you’re still together.
“A lot of years may had passed, a lot may changed, but I can still clearly see her right in front of me.” he uttered lowly.
As you stare over his eyes, you are amused. This is the very first time you will see him like this. You always thought the Sunghoon you knew shows limited emotions. He isn’t the type who gets emotional as well, but seeing him like this sure sooth something inside you. His eyes flickered longing, sadness, and a lot more that it made it difficult to tell each one by one.
He sighed and leaned in. Your heart thumped in fear, but also couldn’t find the will to push him away. He gave your cheeks a soft kiss as he whisper something that made you almost cry.
“I missed you. I missed you so much.” he whispered.
Your eyes watered as he leaned away. Even before you can say anything, he sighed.
“You’re maybe here for the worst reason, and that is being my brother’s wife, but at least I had found you now.” he smirked and tilted his head.
“Sunghoon, please...” you said, finally finding your own voice. “Don’t do anything that will make things bad. I know we didn’t end well and trust me when I said I felt sorry for us, but I can’t do anything about it anymore.” you added, trying to make him understand your situation.
He nodded his head, but his smirk remains. “You’re right. I was really sorry for what happened to the two of us, y/n.” he said and you almost thought you two are on the same page already. You almost let out a sigh of relief, but then he talked again.
“You are right too, you can’t do anything about it anymore.” he then sighed. “But I can.”
“What?!” all of Sunghoon’s friends all exclaimed the moment he told them about the news. He seemed unbothered as he was busy using his phone.
They all met inside this bar and get themselves a vip room for this meeting. He needed his friends opinion so he asked for them.
“Wait wait wait. So are you telling me your brother’s wife is your ex-girlfriend?” Jay asked, can’t still believe it.
Jake was silent and just watching his friend. He was surprised about the news too and honestly, he’s very worried for Sunghoon. He knew what he feels towards you and how bad he wants you back. At this point, he knew he will do anything just to get you back.
“Yes.” Sunghoon answered shortly before he turned his attention towards his Heeseung hyung.
“Hyung, you know a lot of good laywers right?” he asked. Heeseung nodded his head with a confused look.
“Hyung, don’t tell me you’ll steal your brother’s wife?” Jungwon was the quickest to catch what playing through his mind.
Sunghoon chuckled, but kept his eyes over his phone. “Jungwon, you’re so smart.” he commented that left his friends speechless for a while.
“Dude, no you won’t. Tell me you’re kidding.” Jay said, he can already imagine how chaotic it would be if he really do it.
Sunghoon seemed unbothered. He already expected some of his friends would go against about it. Its not the right thing to do, after-all.
“Oh trust me, he will.” Jake answered and even tried pouring another drink over his glass.
Jay glanced at him then over to their other friends. They look concerned, but none said a word except from him. He furrowed his brows, a bit confused.
“Am I the only one thinking this is a bad idea?” he asked.
Heeseung lets out a sigh, a heavy one. He have a lot of thoughts inside his mind ever since he saw Sunghoon’s face when he tells about you and his brother. Its been a while ever since he’d seen other emotions over his friend’s eyes. It may sound funny, but he couldn’t find the heart to go against him.
“I know you’re worried, Jay. This is wrong.” Sunghoon started. He settles his phone down to their table as he roams his eyes over his friend.
“But I wouldn’t just stand there and let her be with my brother. I wouldn’t do the same mistake I’ve done before.” he said sincerely. Jungwon glances away with a small smirk before taking another shot.
“Maybe you’re just stuck at the idea of y/n and you, Hoon. Maybe its just the what ifs thats taking over. I’m sure y/n won’t want you to do this.” Jay tried to stood his point.
“Just give her up, man.” he added.
Sunghoon clenched his jaw. “She didn’t gave up on me easily, Jay. It was me who pushed her to her limits.” he smiled, but it was obvious that he was in so much pain.
Jay was speechless. All this time, he thought his friend was doing fine. Turns out he was wrong. He was in pain and they didn’t even notice it.
“If only I didn’t let her leave that night. She was asking for just a small assurance that it will always be her but I couldn’t even give it to her because of this goddamn pride.” his jaw clenched. “I was too indenial to admit that someone made me fall in love.”
Everyone was silent after Sunghoon lets out what he truly feels. Jay sighs, eyes fixed at his glass of liquor. He feel bad for his friend, he feels a bit angry towards himself for not noticing.
Heeseung sighed, “I’m not saying I support your decision, Hoon. But as your friend, I will just be here for you.” and he claps him over his shoulder.
“Me too, Hyung.” Jungwon.
“Go get her, Sunghoon hyung.” Ni-ki.
“Sunghoon hyung, you’ve been through so much. Hang in there,” Sunoo smiled, tears forming at the corner of his eyes.
Jake who’s beside Sunghoon taps him over his shoulder and so he turns to look at him. He gave him a small smile and nodded his head.
Everyone then eyed Jay who’s still silently looking at Sunghoon. When he noticed their eyes on him, he rolled his eyes and sighed heavily.
“Fuck it. Just so you know, even if I’m against this I want you to be happy.” Jay said that made Sunghoon chuckle.
“Thanks, guys. Thank you.”
Its been two weeks ever since you met Seungyun’s family and you almost disagree when he said that you guys will stay at their mansion for two months while he do his business around this town. You don’t want him thinking about it weirdly so you just agreed.
You know Sunghoon hates going home so you’re sure he won’t be there most of the times. You are right. For the two weeks you’ve stayed there, you haven’t seen him again yet.
“I’ll be back later at dinner, sweetheart.” Seungyun kissed you at the top of your head before he finally left for work.
Most of the days you are left home together with his Mom. She’s very nice and she seems to like you a lot. The only thing that refrains you from fully thinking that she’s a great person is because of the things Sunghoon had told you before. The way she neglects him because of his own brother. She really is very fond of Seungyun. Very very fond.
His father also talks foul behind Sunghoon just like how he told you before. Your heart ache for him. Before, you felt so bad because of the treatment he received from his family. After encountering about it yourself, you mentally wanted to give Sunghoon a tight hug.
If only the situation is not complicated.
You snapped back to reality when someone pulled a chair in front of you. The person sat and the first thing you saw was his playful smirk. Your heart instantly raced.
“S-Sunghoon...” you uttered his name, it was like you’ve seen a ghost. You aren’t sure if he’s really there or your mind created him out of too much longing for him.
“Hey, pretty. Seems like you have a lot going on inside that pretty mind of yours.” he smiled and stares remained darted at you.
You pursed your lips then gulped nervously. Seeing him right in front of you right now just makes the situation even more hard for you.
You love Seungyun, otherwise you wouldn’t agree on marrying him. But you know that Sunghoon has always been your greatest love. The moment you ended things with him, you knew you wouldn’t find a love that will be greater than what you felt with him. This peaceful marriage life you are hoping to have are all starting to get messed up having him close to you. Its dangerous specially if deep down, you know you still have feelings for him.
“What a-are you doing here?” you asked, trying to dismiss any topic that will put you in trouble.
He smiled, “Visiting.”
You nodded and was about to grab your book so you can leave, but he talks again.
“You know you can never avoid me, y/n.” he started and from your book, your gaze trailed towards him.
His smile was no longer there, his eyes softly looking at you. “We both know its still there. We both know its still me.”
You gulped, heart thumping hardly. You shake your head, denying it.
“You’re wrong. I love your brother.” you said, now you don’t know if it was to convince him or to convince yourself as well.
He lets out a scoff, “That’s like a knife stabbed straight to my heart, baby.”
You teared your eyes off from him. You aren’t sure if you can stay near him without spilling anything about your feelings.
“You know that ring won’t stop me from getting you back, right?”
Your steps halted and you turned your head towards him. Horror in your eyes were present, but he seemed unbothered. Actually, he looked really relaxed.
He stared at you as you were left speechless because of what he just said. Your emotions were playing you, like you’ve lost control of them anymore. You just snapped back to your senses when Sunghoon stood up and walked towards your direction.
You’re still spacing out that you can’t even react to it. “By the way, Mom’s asked me to tell you that you two will bake something. She’ll wait for you at the kitchen.” he said and smirked before starting to walk away.
After he was gone from your sight, that’s just when you managed to take breath properly. You didn’t even realized you are holding your breath. Sunghoon’s effect on you will surely be cause of your death.
After the conversation with Sunghoon, you are way more bothered. You always find yourself thinking about him and those memories you two shared together. You knew it was wrong, specially because you’re already married, but you just couldn’t help yourself. Like you’ve said, he was your greatest love.
Sunghoon was determined to show how he really want you back. From giving small hints during meals together with his families, to occasionally trying to take to you. All those talks, he was just teasing you. Making you all flustered and blushing from the things he said. Mostly its about how he intense his feelings are for you. It was almost unbelievable. If it was before, you wouldn’t even think that he would say those words.
“What? You’ll be gone for a week?” your tone was so surprised when you heard from Seungyun that he will leave together with his Dad to go to this business meeting with him.
You stood up and watch him pack his things. Your heart were hammering in worry. Worry that if he went away, Sunghoon will be more bolder of his moves and you won’t be able to stop yourself.
Seungyun sighs and pulled you into a tight embrace. Your heart aches, because you know how nice he’d been for you. He was so sincere for his love and when you asked for assurance, he gave it to you without thinking twice. You hate yourself for having this feelings for his brother, but you can’t do anything about it. You’re left with just avoid him.
“Yes. It will be just quick. For the mean time, use your time to reunite with friends or do something with Mom.” he suggests with a smile.
You pouted, “Can’t you just take me with you?”
He sighs and blopped your nose once, “I wish I can, but that would be an exclusive one.”
You nodded and sigh in defeat. You understand that works can be like that. After staying with him like that for a while, you helped him pack up and both of you cuddled up together, caging each other with warmth.
The next day, you didn’t want to leave your room even for meals. You tried reasoning out, but you know you can’t just keep on doing that because soon his Mom will be suspicious of it and will start to ask question.
You sighed and went out of your shared bedroom. You tried to not make it such a big deal and you are determined to avoid Sunghoon, but all of that dissipated when he was the first one you saw when you walked inside the dining area. It was lunch time.
You gulped and was about to turn back, but he already saw you. “Have a seat. We’ll eat lunch together.” he said and even settles down a dish at the middle of the table.
Your brows furrowed in curiosity if he’s the one who cooked it. “Where’s your Mom?” then you tried roaming your eyes around the house, trying to search for their helpers. “And the helpers?”
Sunghoon shrugged his shoulders off, “Mom went out. The helpers are doing their errands.”
“They didn’t help you?” you tried to act normal and started walking towards the chair in front of his, making sure you have enough distance.
“I asked them not to.” he said and even if he’s bothered that you didn’t took the sit near him, he shuts his mouth and even started putting food over your plate.
You blushed, “I c-can do it.”
Sunghoon shakes his head, “Let me take care of you.” he said seriously and you were once again caught off-guard.
You just let him and soon you two started eating your meal. Surprisingly, the atmosphere was a lot lighter and his food tasted so good.
“For how long did you knew my brother?” he finally asked. You sighed, already expecting it.
“A year and a half.” you saw how he nodded his head as he reach out for his glass of water, eyes darted at you.
“And you’re married for how long now?” he asked, you can even sense the bitterness tone over the word married.
“Five, five months.” you answered again. He nodded his head again before taking a sip over his glass.
“Just recently, then?” he said like as if he’s implying something. You sighed and rolled your eyes.
“Sunghoon, just stop it.” you started. “I know how much you enjoy thrills, but not this. You know how much I dreamt of having someone to be there for the rest of my life. Someone I can build a family with.” you say, eyes pleading.
He didn’t talk right away. “I know. And I’m sorry for what I did back then. I wished I didn’t let pride took over me and begged you to stay.”
Your eyes soften when you heard about it. God knows how much you wished he didn’t let you leave that night. If only he knows you will not hesitate to stay even if he hurts you so much if he just asked you to. You love him very much. Sadly, you still do.
“Its all in the past now. I already forgave you.” you shut your eyes and sighed. “If that’s the reason why you’re doing all of this then stop already. I forgive you.”
You stood up, “Please don’t ruin this for me.” and with that you left the scene.
You wiped off the tears away from your face and tried rushing your way back to your room, but even before you can do it an arm suddenly pulled you inside a room.
You hitched your breath as Sunghoon pushed you over to the wall, dangerously pinning you. His face leaned closer, your lips inches apart. “I was wrong, y/n. i can’t live without you.” he uttered before crashing his lips over yours with no hesitation.
He leaned away to look at your dazed face, gently he wiped those tears away, “so pretty. Very pretty and all mine.”
You both stared at each others eyes and you don’t know, but it was already too much for you. Even before you can stop yourself, your body moved first before your mind can think about it. You leaned kissing Sunghoon in the lips. He smiled, heart fluttering because of what you just did.
Sunghoon reached over the lock and locked his room before he carries you over his arm, lips still connected. He carefully placed you over the bed, and as he pulls away you even tried to go after his lips. He chuckled sexily, “Easy, baby. I’m not going anywhere.” he said as he enjoys how drunken in love you looked beneath him.
Sunghoon couldn’t even put it into words, the feelings he have right now, how beautiful you looked, all of it. They were perfect together. For him, this moment is what he’s longing for. Having you this close and intimate is what he needed the most in life.
Sunghoon took off his shirt smoothly before he leaned closer to you, not breaking eye contact with you.
“Let’s take this off, okay?” he asked softly and referred to your clothes. You nodded nervously. He smiled and leaned in to give you more kisses.
“God you look so beautiful, y/n. You’re making me crazy.” he whispered over your ear and even bite over it gently.
You shut your eyes, feeling so hot all over your body. Soon your lips were kissing passionately once again, “I missed you so much.” he said in between your kisses. His kisses slowly moved over to your jaw, down to your neck.
“I love you, y/n.” was the last thing you remembered he said before you get drunk over his kisses and the pleasure he’s making you feel.
You paced back and fort inside your room the next day. After what happened between you and Sunghoon, you felt very guilty. Guilty not just because you knew it was wrong, but also because you know it was what you wanted as well. You let it happen.
Sunghoon was not home the whole day, you heard from his Mom that he was in a meeting. You spend the whole day chatting with his mother and some other things to keep you occupied. Your mind still wanders off over the things he said and the things that happened. You are torn right now, you don’t know what you should do.
You are very certain that you have to talk about him and to decide about it sooner. And so when he arrived, you told him to meet you by their garden at night time.
“Last night was a mistake. I want to say sorry and I hope we keep our relationship casual.” you said glancing away. The pissed look over his face slipped away from you. he covered it and pushed himself off from the wall and walked closer to you.
“No.” he said. With furrowed brows you looked at him only to be surprised at how close he is already to you, “I’ve already made a mistake once letting you go. I won’t repeat it again.” then he cupped your face.
Your eyes formed tears right away. “B-But I’m scared. What will they say about you when they knew about this? What will we do?”
Sunghoon sighed, a bit relieved that you’re just scared that’s why you are pushing him away. “I don’t care about what they will say about me. You’re all I need. If you’re beside me, it will be enough.”
Your eyes softens and a tear left your eyes as his words caress your heart. “T-They will be mad at us.”
“I will protect you. I will be just here.” he assured you.
You stared at his eyes and you can see that he’s very sincere, way far from the Sunghoon you’re together with years ago. His eyes screams longing and desperation to have you.
“I love you, y/n. Please tell me you still love me too.” he pleaded softly.
You sniffed and tip toed to give him a peck over his lips. “I l-love you, Hoon.” you finally let it out.
It made Sunghoon’s heart thump as he leaned again giving you a kiss at your lips. “I promise, everything will soon be okay. Just trust me, okay?”
You nodded while resting your head over his chest. After that, he walked you back to your room and he went over his.
Two weeks had passed and you did nothing, but to secretely spend it with Sunghoon. It was scary, of course. A lot of eyes are watching around you, but you managed to still sneak out. Despite the situation, your heart was full.
Sunghoon smiled and kissed your hand, “You look so pretty.” he complimented you before pulling you into a warm hug.
“So pretty and mine.” he mumbled.
You pouted, “When are we going to tell them?”
“Right after my brother’s back. I’ve already talked to some lawyers that can help us.” you leaned away and looked at Sunghoon’s face.
“Thank you for doing all of this for me. I know its very complicated and it may cause a lot of mess, but thank you for trying.”
He smiled, “No.” he cupped your face. “Thank you for giving me this chance to make it right.” and he leaned in to give you a soft passionate kiss.
“What the fuck is happening here?” you jolted and quickly moved away from each other the moment you heard that voice.
“S-Seungyun...” you said nervously.
He looked so angry. Sunghoon moved and put you behind him. Seungyun clenched his jaw and trailed his angry eyes from you towards his brother.
“You...” he started and you almost didn’t recognize his tone. He was raging mad. “You did all of this! You are trying to steal my wife from me!” he shouted and went in to give him a punch.
You screamed and quickly went to stop him. “Seungyun, stop! Please! Its not his fault!” you said and he looked at you with disgust over his eyes. He just couldn’t believe what’s happening behind his back.
“How can you do this to me? And with my own brother?” a tear left your eyes, hurting seeing him this hurt. You may not love him as much as you love Sunghoon, but you do still care for him.
He pulled his arm from you causing you to stumble back, he even almost hit your face because of how hard he pulled off. Sunghoon quickly stood up and held him over his collar. “Watch it, asshole.” he angrily said.
You held his arm, stopping him. “You’re the asshole here! What? You’re too insecure that you even stole my own wife from me?!” his brother shouted back.
You are about to say something when their Mom arrived in the scene as well. “What’s happening here?! Sunghoon, Seungyun!” she said panicking.
No one glanced at her, just you. Seungyun and Sunghoon were busy shooting glares at each other. Their Mom went in between and made Sunghoon let go from his brother.
“I sensed something was wrong so I cut my business trip shortly.” Seungyun said and lets out a scoff. “Turns out you two are cheating behind my back.”
Their Mom’s eyes grew big for a while before she turned her head towards your side. Her eyes reflects Seungyun’s.
“Sunghoon, is that true?!” she asked.
Sunghoon held your arm and slowly pulled you behind him, shielding you from any judging eyes his family may give you.
“She’s mine first.” he started. “She’s my ex-girlfriend.” he revealed.
Seungyun was left speechless after hearing about it. None of you talked. Their mother walked closer to your side and your eyes grew when she slapped Sunghoon’s face. “I’m disappointed in you, Sunghoon! How can you do this to your own brother?!” she said.
Your heart ached hearing his mother say those words to him and him taking all the blame. “I-Its not his fault, Ma’am. I was—” her raging eyes turned to you.
“You slut! How dare you seduce my sons! You’re so ungrateful!” she screamed and raised her hand to hit you with all her might.
You shut you eyes, ready to accept her rage. You heard the sound it made, but you can’t feel anything. When you open your eyes, you saw shock over her face and Sunghoon’s cheek all red. You can even saw a small bruise beside it because of her ring.
“Please don’t hurt her. I can take it all, just don’t hurt her, please.” he plead.
He stood in front of you, protecting you. It made you tear up.
“Are you really choosing that girl over your own family?!” his mother asked.
“Family? Since when did you treat me as your son, Mom? I was only there whenever Seungyun hyung was not around. You only see me when he’s not here.” you can see that she was taken aback.
“Y/n was the only one who made me feel loved and I was too stupid to let her go years ago.” he said and slid his hold from your arm over to your hand to intertwin your fingers.
“So when I get the chance to have her back, I took my shot.” he glanced at his brother. “I’m sorry if its in the wrong way and I understand if you will get mad at me. I will take it all, just don’t mess with her.” he said.
He sighed, “If you want to take it to legal court, we’ll be there. The divorce papers will be ready by tomorrow so it will be delivered to your office.” he said before finally pulling you to leave that house.
When you arrived at his place, you were both silent. He went to the bathroom and you quickly followed. He was looking for a first aid kit.
“Let me help you.” you said the moment he took a hold of it.
He turns his head and nodded. You walked inside and made him sit down. You started cleaning his wound while he silently watch you do it. His heart thump in worry. You’ve been very quiet ever since you left the mansion. He’s scared that you’re regretting your decision.
“A-Are you regretting it?” he suddenly asked and you furrowed your brows when you heard it.
“What made you think that?” you cupped his face.
“You’ve been very silent.”
You sighed and put his arm away so you can sit over his lap which he willingly let you. “I was just overwhelmed because of the things that happened a while ago.” you said clinging your arm over him for support.
He slid his arm over your waist, making sure you’re not going to fall. “I know. It must have scared you when my Mom started screaming.”
You pouted, remembering the scary scene. It did scared you, but having him beside you at least made you feel braver.
“It did. But at least we don’t have to hide anymore, right?” he gave your cheeks a kiss before nuzzling his nose at the crook of your neck.
“I love you so much, y/n. I will do everything for you.” he mumbled, that made your worries go away.
“I love you, Sunghoon.”
“Do you want me to go with you?” Sunghoon asked when he stopped his car at the parking lot of his brother’s company.
Its been 2 months already ever since it happened. Things were rough. A lot of people knew about it and started speaking ill about the two of you. But none of it was your concern, just like how Sunghoon predicted it, it eventually dissolved and got forgotten.
Now, you suddenly received an email from Seungyun that he will finally sigh the divorce papers. You got surprised because he was very certain that he wouldn’t do it a month ago. It made you wonder what changed his heart to do this.
“No. I can do this.” you said and leaned in to give Sunghoon a light kiss.
He nodded his head, “Call me if anything happens.”
You chuckled and rolled your eyes before unlocking the door of his car, “Its Seungyun, Hoon. He won’t do anything bad.”
He pouted, “Just making sure, love.”
You giggled and nodded before finally waving at him. You went inside and told the lobby about the reason of your visit. She told you to go at the top floor to his office.
His secretary was the first one you saw. She flashes her smile, seeing you after a long time after the issue sure means a lot to her. What happened between you and her boss sure made her sad, but she knows things happens.
“He’s already waiting for you.” and she opened the door for you after she announced to him that you arrived.
The atmosphere feels heavy as you take steps closer to his table. He was doing something over his laptop when you entered so he didn’t look at you.
“Good afternoon, Seungyun.” you greeted him making him look at you.
He didn’t show any reaction, but you can see how he seemed very tired. It was obvious that he was drowning himself with work. Somehow, you felt bad.
“Heres the file.” you said glancing away as you hand him the folder.
He accepted it after staring at it for a while. He didn’t said anything and started reading the statements. “My lawyer also includes there that you’d get to keep your own assets all by yourself and that I wouldn’t get any of my shares.”
His head lift and brows furrowing at you, “Y/n, I know we’re separating but some of it was bought during our marriage. You’re considered as co-owner of some properties.”
You bit your lower lip and shake your head, “I don’t think I deserve it, Seungyun. I appreciate it really, but I will feel better if we settle it that way.”
He stared at you before finally signing it. The silence were suffocating for you. After he finishes, you accepted it and stood right away. You bowed at him.
“I know I’ve already said it a lot of times and this won’t even make your pain go away, but I’m sorry things have to end this way, Seungyun.” you said sincerely.
“I know you’re disappointed and mad, but things probably better this way. You deserve someone who will love you as much as you love them.” you flash him a smile.
“I wish you genuine happiness.” and you turned your heals to leave.
You’re already near the door when he talked. “I was indeed disappointed and mad.” he started.
You turned your head and looked at his way. “I’m disappointed because you didn’t told me right away. I am mad, but I’m mad at myself.” he said that surprised you.
“I’m mad at myself because I failed to see what my younger brother truly feels and how hard things were for him ever since. I was so drowned with my envy towards him that I failed to notice how he’d been through a lot.” he said and you saw him trying to hold his emotions to himself.
“You’re probably wondering why I suddenly decided to sign the papers.” he said and you nodded your head.
He flashed you a small smile, “Ever since that night I knew about you and Sunghoon, he always came to see me. To talk and convince me to let you go.”
Your eyes grew big, because you didn’t know about that.
“I d-didn’t know about that.”
He nodded, “Well, that’s Sunghoon. He’s not someone who will fully let you know about his efforts.”
“I was in so much pain that I made sure that I won’t let you have what you want thay easily.” he glanced away.
“But what shaken me was his last visit.”
Your heart raced, waiting for what he was about to say next.
“My brother is full of pride. He’s not someone who will beg for something. He’s not the type of person who will let other people step on him. He knew he was all that and that he can get everything he wants all by himself.” Seungyun said, and you saw how his eyes formed tears at the corner.
“But that day, Sunghoon begged me. He told me about how much important you are to him and that how he much he loves you.” he said and sighed. You saw him gulped as he looked back at you, your eyes have tears over them as well hearing about this from him.
“Sunghoon kneeled. Can you imagine that?” a smirk spreads over his lips as a tear stream down. “The oh-so-great Park Sunghoon kneeled here in this room.”
Your eyes were big, tears continuous flowing out from it.
“I can still remember the exact words he said that day.” he sighed. “He said, ‘Please, hyung. I know I hurt you, but Y/n is all I have. Please give her to me and you won’t heard anything from me again. I won’t ask for anything else. She’s all I need. I love her so much.”
You heart was overwhelmed by the things you’ve learnt from him. All you can think about is that you want to go back to Sunghoon and hug him very tight.
“Please don’t leave my brother, y/n. You made him feel alive.”
You smiled and nodded before finally leaving to go back to Sunghoon. You are crying at the elevator, but you didn’t mind the stares. When you arrived by the parking lot, he was leaning by his car patiently waiting.
When he saw you, he stood straight smiling. It slowly faded when he saw you crying. “What happened? Did he do something?” he asked, starting to get worked up.
You shake your head and quickly caged him in a tight embrace, “I love you so much, Sunghoon. Thank you for your efforts.”
He was stunned, but slowly he gave in to your hug. He gently made you lean away so he can cup your face.
“I love you more, love.” and he leaned in to seal your love with a kiss.
