I'd dug it up earlier to send to someone as it had been relevant in conversation recently, so may as well post it here too; a lil bit of CatLore(tm) for my main Warhammer Army; the Knights of Noble House Valere.

When I decided that it would be healthy for me to try to partake in physical hobbies more often rather than spending all my free time online and having almost exclusively online friendships, the first thing I went to try was Warhammer. I'd been trying to get into it for nearly a decade and I've always loved my funny little minis and models so it was the most obvious choice to me, especially being that I'd just been given a new 3d printer I could make terrain and models with. However, this came with a small issue; I didn't like the style of the models I already had as much as I used to. Which meant I needed to browse through which factions 40k had to choose from, and find something with an aesthetic I did enjoy.

What I found that i liked was the Imperial Knights and Grey Knights.

First, some official lore as Context;

Imperial Knights are huge mechs owned by influential families called Noble Houses. Before the founding of The Imperium of Man wherein the God-Emperor took the Golden Throne, the Noble Houses were some of the first humans to leave Terra and colonize the galaxy in an event referred to as The Long March. For the purpose of this colonization, they built huge agricultural mechs with chainsaws that could reave forests for lumber, explosives that could level mountains for construction, etc. Of course, these tools were repurposed into weapons of war. The mechs were equipped with armour that can withstand a nuke and autocannons that shoot shells wider than a man is tall. The planets colonized by these Noble Houses are referred to as Feudal Worlds. When the Age of Strife began and humanity lost a significant portion of the knowledge required to create and upkeep their most advanced technologies, contact between distant worlds was also lost. Many Feudal Worlds that were isolated from this regression have yet to be rediscovered by The Imperium.

Grey Knights are the God-Emperor's Special Boys who live on Saturn's moon Titan in a Grand Fortress-Monestary. unlike other chapters of space marines, there are only every 800 Grey Knights at any one time, and every single one of them is a psyker and has mad wizard powers. They also all wear ~Special Boy~ armour that's been sanctified and blessed with Mystical Rituals that makes them harder to kill than your average Space Marine. They exist only to fight invasions of the Daemon forces of Chaos, and will take any measure to do so. The whole thing is very edgy and they try very hard to be cool.

Unfortunately, the rules of warhammer40k don't normally allow one person to use models from two different factions in their army at the same time, and doing so is referred to as a "Soup Army" which is generally very frowned upon by the gaming community. Regardless, I happen to be and continue to be a fool of a kitty that likes my funny little Knights, and what I wanted to do was run an army that's made half and half of the two factions I like.

That begs the question though; Why would these two factions be fighting together? the Grey Knights are Daemon Hunters, and as such only fight against those corrupted by Chaos, and while the Noble Houses of the Feudal Worlds which have been rediscovered by The Imperium do fight alongside The Imperium, they don't do so Often or Consistently. (And, by game rules, while any imperium army is permitted to field either one large or up to three small Imperial Knights models, that isnt enough for me)

While I do like the Imperial Knights official lore, I'm pretty neutral on that of the Grey Knights (as much as I do like to make fun of them, the idea of an order of paladins that'll show up anywhere, anytime to lay the smackdown on some demons is pretty cool). So, my solution to that question was; What if they aren't Grey Knights? Any military that's fielding gigantic irreplaceable Death Mechs is also going to employ footsoldiers, aren't they?

The Knights I paint and play are of the Noble House Valere, one of the many to take part in The Long March and the many to still be isolated following the Age of Strife. The House, however, has not been idle in it's isolation. From the time contact was lost in the 25th millennium House Valere has continued to make technological progress, re-engineering the systems utilized in their great Knights to smaller and more compact forms, to create Exosuits in which even an untrained wearer could rival a Space Marine in combat. While this is surely impressive, the real feat of innovation achieved by Valere's researchers is undoubtedly their progress in harnessing The Warp. Normally only Psykers would be able to utilize the reality-bending power of The Warp, however the continued study and research between the 25th to the 41st millennium has seen these researchers engineer methods for machines to make use of The Warp, and integrating this into the Exosuits of House Valere's Knights allows every one of their footsoldiers to wield the power of a Psyker.

The current Standing Army of House Valere, which is to say the models I currently have (though many are currently unpainted), numbers at six Knight Mechs, one Armoured Troop Transport, and seventeen Exosuit Soldiers.

In Game Terms that's;

one Knight Preceptor, two Armiger Helverins, and two Armiger Warglaives for 1,000points of Imperial Knights,

one Nemesis DreadKnight, one Brother-Captain, one Brotherhood Champion, one Razorback, five Terminators, five Grey Knights, and five Purifiers for 1,000points of Grey Knights,

which all together makes a happy Tournament-Standard sized army roster of 2,000points.

House Valere's age of peace is not to last much longer, as the universe permits none to escape it's wrath and there are a great many who, whether for Tech-Heresy, claims of territory, or simply Hunger, would see The House's citizens dead.

As a footnote; I do want to clarify that when i wrote this i felt like an absolute madwoman and it seemed very Chuuni / "9th-grader's Overpowered Self-Insert OC" but fuck it cringe is dead, I'm having fun, and others have said its neat so im keeping it.

Hakuoki Tsukikage no Shou - Kazama Final Chapter Translation

So. [im going to swear.]

I tried doing something truly fucking insane. I wrote and copied out almost every single stupid shitty word in Chinese from the CH subbed video for this (99% of everything of this was done w/o freaking copy and pasting since it was too fucking hard to locate every stupid duplicated word that i wrote) with my mouse onto google translate (I don't have any other way to input words cuz i don't have a damn input device) before i went and translated this. 

at the time i did this, writing out every stupid shitty word was a lot fucking faster than using an ocr text extractor at the time since i kept having problems with the one i was using... and my fucking gawd did this feel soooo freaking tedious and it really did hurt my hand and arm for a while.... to the point that i’ll still complain about it despite how that was done back around the time i did the tsukikage countdown video....

i fucking demand that everyone who reads this thank me for hurting myself for the sake of getting this stupid chapter translated lol... all in all, i wrote out over 4600 stupid fucking Chinese characters of this in one sitting....

oh and i think i might have forgotten about copying some of the punctuation but idfcrn.

on that note, i also found the Hakuoki stage play with Chinese subs but I refuse to do anything with it as long as those words aren't in text since that's more than 2 hours long, and i’m not that masochistic or insane xD. if anyone wants to volunteer as tribute though to copy/isolate the text though that’s another matter. 

also i had to go read up on more damn history than i'd have liked to in order to translate this damn thing cuz i couldn't understand several words in Chinese since they were Japanese terms which made doing this even annoying since that meant extra work for me to do... and omfg i hated writing this out despite the fact that doing so did save me a significant amount of time cuz I was still pretty bad at using photoshop when i did this...  though I can definitely say that this will be the absolute fucking first and last chapter of anything that i’ll ever write out again since i can say that my photoshop skills have improved enough so that i can extract text at a significantly faster pace and with more accuracy...

Six years later after what later generations would refer to the "Boshin War." Chikage-san took me away to live at his village within the Satsuma Domain. This is a story of what happened 5 years after I married into the Kazama family.

Eighth year of Meiji, 7th month

My eyes were unfocused.

I was quietly mending something——

Kazama Chizuru: That hurt......!

I accidentally hit my finger with the needle.

Kazama Chizuru:......Messed up again.

This type of housework, would usually be finished quickly.... But today my concentration, from the start until just now, wasn't here.

I know the reason why.

Kazama Chizuru: Ah......

I stopped/lowered my hand and softly sighed. Recently, Chikgae-san has been increasing his visits to human villages. 

It seems that Amagiri-san has also been frequently rushing around to collect information. The oni in this village saw this, and one after another, they began talking about 

——Soon, there will be no more war with humans.

The female oni were especially scared of war.

However I didn't think it wasn't improbable......

But there was no way to say that war wouldn't happen again.

It's hard to think that the world's become so peaceful.

When I was thinking about these things. (door slides)

There was the sound of a door opening.

I didn't need to confirm who this person was——

Kazama Chikage: I didn't see you, so this is where you were.

Kazama Chizuru: Chikage-san......

The instant I saw him, I immdiately felt relieved...... I couldn't help but smile.

Kazama Chikage: What is it? Is there something funny?

Kazama Chizuru: No, That's......

Kazama Chizuru: I always think it's unimaginable in how I am able to recognize you by your breathing, Chikage-san.

Presumably my answer probably surprised him since Chikage-san's eyes widened......

Kazama Chikage: Of course I am also able to recognize you by your breathing, you and I are husband and wife.

If this had been before, I probably would have immediately denied Chikage-san's words.......

Kazama Chizuru:......That's right/Is that so.

There's no need to deny anything now.

Because Chikage-san and I have already had our marriage ceremony in the Kazama village to become husband and wife.

Kazama Chikage: What are you doing here?

Kazama Chizuru: Sewing clothes.

Kazama Chizuru: If the children's clothes aren't taken care of, they might get torn when caught on a branch or from falling down. 

Kazama Chikage: this sort of housework, you can just give it someone else to do.

Kazama Chizuru: But, I have happen to have time......

Kazama Chikage: Accompany me for a walk.

Chikage-san raise his chin, and spoke with an indisputable tone of voice.

Kazama Chizuru: Wait a moment, let me tie this knot......

Kazama Chikage: That thing can wait and be done later, come with me for a walk first.

Really......

Chikage-san's unyielding personality hasn't changed since [even before] we married.

Kazama Chizuru:......I understand, I'll come with you.

Anyway fighting is useless, so I followed him.

It was slightly hot when we reached the forest.

As small birds could clearly be heard chirping nearby, Chikage-san and I walked together.

Kazama Chizuru:......You seem to be so busy lately, have things calmed down yet?

I spoke to him in this way......

Kazama Chikage:............ [he sighs/breathes out  here]

Not hearing my words, Chikage-san showed a distressed expression, and was silent.

Kazama Chizuru: Chikage-san....... Chikage-san.

After using a slightly heavier tone, he finally stopped.

Kazama Chikage:......What's wrong?

Kazama Chizuru: To ask me what's wrong......

Kazama Chizuru: Just now I called you several times just now and you didn't respond, it's very concerning

Kazama Chikage: So it's like that, I apologize.

Kazama Chizuru: No, I'm not upset......

Kazama Chizuru: What's bothering you?

Kazama Chizuru: If it's alright, you can talk about it with me.

Kazama Chikage: No.......it's not something that cannot be said.

Kazama Chikage: As the leader's wife, I think you should know about this matter.

It felt like there was a different weight to the way he was saying "the leader's wife."

After moving to this village, Chikage-san has told me those words [in that manner] several times...... The subjects that followed afterwards, were matters that directly concerned the village.

As I nervously waited for his next words, Chikage-san spoke in a solemn and careful tone.

Kazama Chikage:......There are rumours, that the Satsuma shizoku has been engaging in suspicious activities. [check audio]

Kazama Chizuru: Shizoku......?

After entering the Meiji era, former samurai are now referred to as "shizoku"...... No longer able to receive an official's salary, I've heard that they have had difficulties in securing their livelihoods.

Kazama Chikage: After last year's "conscription notice," it is said that official talks to forbid carrying of blades were given with the "conscription notice."

Kazama Chizuru: Forbidding the carrying of blades? That is to say......

Before I asked my question, Chikage-san nodded.

Kazama Chikage: Banning the wearing of katana

Kazama Chikage: [Meaning] Depriving warriors of the rights associated with them.

Kazama Chizuru: Doing that sort of thing...... aren't the Satsuma shizoku unlikely to accept that?

The Satsuma shizoku were [perhaps: had been] proud to be part of the Meiji Restoration, and before I heard that it was their greatest pride. They had overthrown the Shogunate with great difficulty, but they [however it seems that they] haven't received a decent reward [pay-off is prob more accurate]......

If they are deprived of their privileges that they had and are again forced into having difficult lives, it is obvious that there will be resentment.

Kazama Chikage:......Last year, reportedly Saigo's defeat at the central government and his return to the Satsuma, appeared to be the cause of riots breeaking out in human villages. [refers to Seikanron]

Chikage-san's words caused me to let out a cold breath.

I've heard that Saigo is the Satsuma's most powerful individual.

If indignant warriors gather assemble together under his banner——

Kazama Chizuru: Then, where are you going [probably planning?]?

Kazama Chikage: Come on...... let's walk for a while.

Speaking like that, Chikage-san urged me......

No mater what, I wanted to confirm this matter.

Kazama Chizuru: Chikage-san......

Kazama Chikage:......Nn?

Kazama Chizuru: Will Chikage-san have no choice, but to once again move for the Satsuma?

Kazama Chizuru: Just like when the Shogunate was destroyed......

Because there is a sense of righteousness and companionship with the Satsuma [i'd assume this is more sense of gratitude and debt based on Kyoto Winds/Edo Blossoms], there's nothing to be done on the matter......

If that’s the case, I don't want Chikage-san to once again be dragged into humanity's wars.

He is my beloved husband—— we have many precious things to protect now.

Kazama Chikage:......Do not worry, our Kazama family/clan has promised to help the Shimazu clan.

Kazama Chikage: There is no involvement in the Satsuma right now. I have no plans to be involved in wars between humans.

Kazama Chizuru: Really?

Kazama Chikage: Have I [ever] lied to you?

Kazama Chizuru:.......No

Kazama Chizuru: Chikage-san, thank you. Hearing what you said just now, I can be at ease.

Even so I felt that nothing was stronger than the promise he made just now.

Chikage-san will certainly use all of his strength to protect us.

Kazama Chikage:......Perhaps, in the near future, war may occur in the Satsuma. [the Satsuma may go to war is likely more accurate given the Satsuma Rebellion]

Kazama Chikage: In order to prepare for such a situation, [we] must consider temporarily moving into hiding elsewhere.

Kazama Chizuru:......Yes

The oni of the Kazama village...... everything must be done to protect them. In the past my clan——the disaster that befell the Yukimura clan's oni must not be repeated.

Afterwards, Chikage-san and I arrived at place....... a place outside the village and near the beach.

The deep blue sea could clearly be seen in the distant horizon, as well as the rolling waves. It's was a symbol and scene of peace and stability.

............However.

Kazama Chizuru:......Is war really going to erupt again?

It seemed as if war would break this sea of tranquility.

Kazama Chikage: I am afraid that it will.

Kazama Chikage: But do not worry. I will certainly protect you all

Kazama Chizuru:......Nn, I believe you.

Our conversation drew to a close once more, but it didn't feel out of sorts.

The sound of the tide carried away all of my worries.

In this way, looking out towards the majestic sea......

Kazama Chizuru:......This reminds me of when the two of us disembarked back then.

Chikage-san was quiet as he turned towards me.

His pair of red eyes looked at me, almost as if to ask for the truth of what I meant just now.

Kazama Chikage: The people [or officials?] from the Satsuma fled, similarly to how the warriors of Aizu did.

Kazama Chikage: It wasn't only the Aizu. The former Shogunate who fought the Sat-cho probably also hated the Satsuma and wanted to go to war with them.

Kazama Chikage: They were pardoned, no longer are they an enemy seeking revenge......

Kazama Chikage: For what reason would they need to repeat a disastrous policy/the same mistake......

Kazama Chizuru:......Yes. I also......don't understand

Kazama Chizru:......However it's already...... fighting between humans, oni must not participate again.

Kazama Chizuru: That's what I think, ever since I chose to live here as an oni.

Kazama Chizuru:.....Yes. Even though——

Kazama Chizuru: Even if  there's a new battle, the surviving members of the Shinsengumi might take part in it, as will others who are the same——

Among them, I heard that some of them had been pardoned.

That possibility of that is entirely possible.

But——

I've truly observed the conclusion to the Shinsengumi's existence.

They cannot be involved, they can no longer live while fighting against the trajectory [of history? alt:against the flow/tide]/ They can't——it's not possible for them to get involved again, and they can no longer survive against the tide.

Right, though it's difficult to say that/sorry/sad to admit to that.

Kazama Chikage: In front of me, you don't need to be strong [put up a brave front]

Kazama Chizuru:......It's alright. I'm not trying to be strong.

Kazama Chizuru: It's true that I have nothing to do with the Shinsengumi anymore——

Kazama Chizuru: Because of that, there have been things [that I have] obtained.

Kazama Chizuru: Yes......

[To be the one] dealing with this huge amount of pressure, I couldn't imagine it.

While living as a human, then recalling the everyone from the Shinsengumi, I feel sad, although there are times [Although there are times I feel sad when I think of when I lived as a human, and recall everyone from the Shinsengumi......]

But I, have chosen to to support him on this path.

Kazama Chizuru: As a wife...... as an oni, I will do everything to support you......

So, as long as I'm alive, I will always support him.

Kazama Chizuru: Ah. Please stay at my side. You absolutely will not regret it.

Chikage-san will stay with never go against this agreement, and will stay with me for a lifetime.

So I shall make a promise to him here.

Kazama Chizuru: I will forever be at your side......

——Tsukikage no Shou Kazama Final Chapter End—— 

maybe i’ll go translate yamazaki’s final tsukikage no shou chapter... in like 2 years. or something. if someone hasn’t done it by then. lol. unfortunately, tsukikage is not on my priority list since 95% of what CH TL I’ve seen is only available as videos... and while I’d very much prefer to translate Saito’s ginse no shou route, the only thing that I’ve found with CH TL so far is a short clip from the 2nd common route chapter.... plus, i still have ssl to worry about... and even then, there are some dramas that i really wanted translated along with the rest of kyoka-roku... 

final edits will be done when i start caring about them... later.

also this is chapter 8 for kazama’s route. each route in tsukikage and ginsei no shou has their own unique ending music.

it’s the 4th anniversary of the premier of vld which of course means i have assembled a rough timeline for my descent into voltron special interest hell. it goes something like this:

- june 10 2016: vld season 1 premiers. i am none the wiser

- january 20 2017: season 2 comes out. this fact is irrelevant to me

- august 4 2017: season 3 happens. still not entirely sure what a “voltron” even is

- mid-august 2017: one of my friends cosplays keith. that’s cool. who’s keith?

- october 17 2017: season 4 arrives. that’s fine i guess

- march 2 2018: season 5 has entered the building. i am vaguely aware that i have known people who watched it at some point. the fandom is apparently “terrifying” but i survived homestuck, so i scoff at the concept and go on with my life

- june 15 2018: season 6 drops. i see a bunch of cool gifs and pretty fanart. coupled with the hype i have absorbed from the lead up to it, i wonder if i should give the show a watch

- june 16 2018: i start watching vld. two (four) episodes in and i love it. i can already tell i’m a hunk kinnie, and this brings me no end of joy

- june 28 2018: within two weeks, i have caught up entirely. i am thriving in the post-s6 hype

- july 20 2018: at sdcc, the Big Reveal happens. shiro is gay. he is a disabled main character of of colour in a wildly popular show for kids, and he is kind and brave and the pinnacle of masculinity, and he is gay. no matter your shipping opinions, this is incredible news and it’s hard to Not ride the high, so why bother trying? they show a trailer and announce the release date for season 7, and within hours a bunch of booted recordings of s7e1 are floating around online

- july 23 2018: my interest level has gotten to the point where i need to make a separate twitter for it, so i do. (fun fact: as of today, less than 2 years later, said twitter has over 7300 posts on it. my main, 4x that old, has ~30k)

- august 10 2018: season 7 is online at 1am my time. im selling at an artist alley all weekend, starting the following morning. i binge half the season anyway before passing out, and completely avoid the internet until i can watch the rest later that day

- october 5 2018: at nycc, the trailer for s8 and release date are revealed. i immediately book the announced day off work because i know i will want to watch the entire thing at once the second it’s out

- mid-october 2018: “leaks” of s8 start appearing online. pretty much no one in the fandom believes them, because no one Likes them. they seem ridiculous. people start making “leakverse” fanworks to feed some of the finale anticipation into, including me. no one really thinks they’re plausible at all

- december 14 2018: season 8 airs. i post a quick but heartfelt fanart before gearing up for 1am. it starts, and i cry. the first time they form voltron, i cry some more. things keep happening, and i keep getting tears on my screen, and i have to pause and start it over and over, but i live tweet the whole thing anyway. the leaks were... real. i come out of it unsure how i feel, exactly, but i am exhausted from the marathon and so immediately pass out

- the same day, after some sleep: im upset and confused as to why the finale season was so hollow. i see im not alone. it’s a rough week, feeling like something i love so deeply let me down so much. i realize it’s only been 6 months since i got into it - but, clinging to a deep sense of betrayal, i cry some more anyway

- the immediate aftermath: there are petitions and accusations of censorship and conspiracies about where the “real” s8 is. it’s hard not to get caught up in, or at least dragged down by, the lack of hype. no one who worked on the show says anything for days, weeks, months. fix it fanwork starts cropping up, and i surround myself in them. none of the excitement from before is there, not the same way it was. i start a new and highly ambitious piece of art out of spite. it’s left unfinished

- january 2 2019: lion forge releases the third volume of vld comics. no one really cares. i certainly don’t

- the intermediate aftermath: it becomes clearer by the day that the season was, simply put, a failure and a flop. no one liked it. kids cried over it and parents had no idea how to explain it to them. the fandom and community dim for a while, but i keep immersing myself in the trove of fanwork that already existed, and i start trying again to make some of my own

- may 29 2019: lion forge comics announces that they are not renewing their license to make more vld comics. that, coupled with the abysmally rated final season, seems to be the nail in the coffin for this iteration of the ip. there won’t be anything else official for vld. somehow, this sparks a renewed interest in me. despite everything, im more dedicated than ever before to preserve and proliferate my good experiences. i know this won’t be a blip in my history as a fan, so i’m determined to be happy with it, as best i can be

- the rest: is, as they say, history. as of now, i have something like 20 fanworks of my own in progress for vld. my ao3 bookmarks number in the 100s, and my to-read list is at over 250. ive made a concerted effort to be more active and engaged in the fandom, because it came so close to fizzling out, for me and maybe for everyone, but it’s brought me so much goodness that i cant and Won’t let that happen, not without a fight

it’s been just under 2 years since i decided to watch voltron on a whim. and it has honestly become a central part of my interests and identity in that time - but for the majority of it, it’s been because of fandom and fanworks, and that’s maybe what made it stick so well to begin with: the creative, varied, amazing parts of it that no network mandate could have offered on its own

this started as a way to catalog my journey into and through vld but honestly it kind of became a love letter to the fandom (at least, my corner of it). that’s what’s made these last years so special - what’s made them simultaneously fly by and feel like a solid constant. a dedicated, talented fan base who are capable of so much more than the constraints of the source material

manifestation and religion

disclaimer: im going to write my opinions on religion and if you consider yourself a believer - dont get offended as we all have different experiences and beliefs. also, i will be mentioning some stuff that most people find weird and unusual so please keep your mind open and leave your judgment somewhere else.

i wrote quite a bit and then my clumsy ass accidentally closed all tabs and everything was gone so this time ill write my intro in short version. so we all heard the saying ‘’be careful what you wish for it may come true’’. well it does come true and it has proved to me so many times, and before i get to the basics of law of attraction and manifestation I am going to say a bit of background how i got to it all.

as most of my country i was raised christian and had to practice the religion until i was 14/15 and got my holy confirmation so after that i was finally happy that i did not have to go to church if i did not want to. my family is not super religious, we do follow the holiday traditions and such as its normal in our country, but personally i dont give them much meaning. two of my family members are religious and i am grateful because in a place as my hometown our parents gave us free will when i came to religion (after our confirmation only :P) .

 with all my experience and research i came to realise that christianity is most rotten, corrupted, vile and disgusting religion there is. there are exceptions that were better than rest, that is a small number unfortunately. i always considered myself agnostic, there is no defined god but there is something bigger than humankind and its still unknown. and you look at all the religions you will find that mostly all of them have same stories, people and facts, just bit amended  to their culture.  so to explain a bit, here is internet definition of agnosticism # Agnosticism is the view that the existence of God, of the divine or the supernatural is unknown or unknowable. Another definition provided is the view that "human reason is incapable of providing sufficient rational grounds to justify either the belief that God exists or the belief that God does not exist."  and no, atheist is not the same. heres couple of pictures giving some insights 

so now that we have that sorted out i would like to stress out that i never had anything against people who believe in god or dont believe in god, i have friends who are strong believers and friends who are atheist, its just called being adult and accepting people as they are. not enough people can do that. 

so i did lots of research on religions and i do like polytheism  ( Polytheism is the worship of or belief in multiple deities, which are usually assembled into a pantheon of gods and goddesses, along with their own religions and rituals) so i always had huge interest in roman and Greek deities, Egyptian as well and for a while was reading about Hinduism. of course i read a lot about all other older civilizations and most of them are based on polytheism. 

during my exploring i came across a doctrine about paganism (havent fully finished all the books and here is a link if anyone would be interested in buying https://despot-infinitus.com/proizvod/paganizam-u-teoriji-i-praksi-doktrina-paganizma/) and i really liked the whole idea of it and i am still actively considering of becoming a white witch/wicca and reading those books inspired adding bit more on my pentagram tattoo, which is actually representing five elements so with added moons it represents triple goddess symbol.

many people ask me is that devils sign and am i a satanist, and that is ridiculous assumption based on only one symbol. and as a matter of fact i have been  reading about satanism itself as well (of course i have) and its quite surprisingly peaceful religion and makes more sense than christianity does. to read more about their rules (which are way better than 10 commandments) click here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LaVeyan_Satanism#Basic_tenets

those who know me a bit better know that i love paranormal stuff and that i have strong connection with it and that caused a lot of paranormal experiences in my life (i bring all the ghosts to your yard aaayyy) so i recently also discovered demonology ( Demonology is the study of demons or beliefs about demons. They may be human, or nonhuman, separable souls, or discarnate spirits which have never inhabited a body.) and that you can actually learn how to practice it and cant lie that also interests me as well as you contact demons and entities and you work together to learn about world and history and you give them chance to peacefully experience the world (they literally posses you and that way they get to taste food and emotions etc)

yes this is quite informative post as well. and yes, you will all probably deem me insane after reading all this. and what i noticed is that all of them mentioned above work on the principle of cooperation, you have to give to receive. and i dont mean like you have to make blood sacrifices to get your wishes, i mean you have to put in some effort in it and show good intentions and most important of all  - you have to show some respect.

so to finally get to the reason why you are all here. manifestation and law of attraction.

there were loads of instances in my life where i noticed small details that most of people wouldnt notice and after googling them one word kept coming up - universe. so automatically when you start look into that law of attraction and manifestation  come up as well, they all g hand in hand like little happy family.

So law of attraction is something you all definitely had experience with. Basically its what you put out to the world is what you get. Simple change of mindset can change everything in your life. Have you noticed when you are happy and spreading happiness everything around you seems nicer, people are nicer to you, nice things happen and then when you are in bad mood everything is going bad.

Sounds familiar? That is law of attraction for you people. you’re releasing/giving good vibes to the atmosphere and people around you so universe makes sure to give good things back. notice that give and take relationship here? Dont be fooled tho, its not always as simple as it sounds. it is especially hard when you get into that deep hole of feeling bad a and depressed. it is really hard to change your train of thoughts and get yourself to think positive. universe wont award you for one good thought, it has to be series of it and you really need to feel them. you truly need to be in a good moment to get something back from universe.

say thank you to people serving you, ask people how are they, show that you care, pick up a paper from street and throw it in a bin, smile to everyone, pet a random animal on a street, anything counts. and dont do it just because you expect something huge from universe as most of the time universe will give back with good things as well, someone will help you, smeone will compliment you, you’ll get free cup of coffee, just random things like that. you will be surprised that good things will come to you in a moment you need. it also makes you more grateful for everything in your life and makes your everyday nicer and more positive.

then we come to manifestation. 

thiiiiiis my people is bit more complicated than just law of attraction, but one without other does not go. there is no definition of the manifestation, but it is a fact that if you want something really bad universe will give it to you. i had universe manifest so many of my things that i wanted, just took a bit of time. maybe it has happened for you too. sit and think how many things did you wish for and you have them now? there are certainly more than few things that come to your mind. i can easily name at least 10 things that universe manifested for me without even realizing that was it.

there are many ways to manifest something and it is impossible for me to write everything about it in this post as it is bit more complicated than law of attraction, but i will try to outline some things and believe me when you google manifestation you will find loads of examples and you can read for days about it. 

every single wish you want to manifest you can, it just requires some work and that is the hardest part. there are many ways of manifesting something, scribbling, drawing, visualizing, meditating and many more - you need to find something that works the best for you. you need to have clear vision of what you want (general idea wont work), you have to want it really strongly and you need to start working towards it, even little steps - remember when i said you have to give to receive, same with universe. it wont just drop it in your lap because you decided it would be beneficial for you. 

and have in mind very important thing universe will always provide and it will give you what you deserve when you are ready for it.

so yes, it means it can take waaaay longer than you expect it, it may not be hours, days it may be years, it just means that you are not ready for it yet but that doesnt mean universe is not working on bringing it to you. all the work you put into it will definitely be worth it.

for example i fell in love in marketing in university and always wanted a job in that field. it did not get easy to me at all. i spent long five years applying for the jobs and either getting rejections or no answer. and believe me that could put me in such bad mood sometimes that i just wanted to give up on everything. add to that anxiety struggles and that makes it even harder. and as mentioned in the last year i worked on myself mentally, my anxiety has been on lower levels for a while and it does spike up now and then and it messes things up, but i’ve been happier mentally then i ever was in last 5 years and towards end of the last year more and more good things started to come my way and then i finally got that long awaited job.

i am still looking a proper way to thank universe for making it happen for me as that is also important thing for manifestation.

going to use myself as example - being a cheerleader, moving to another country, going to enrique iglesias concerts, visiting loch ness and Neuschwanstein Castle and many more were just big wishes at one point and so far they all came true and i couldnt be happier. it can be small things as well, once i tried to test it and i wanted to manifest a drink date. so i kept thinking how i will go for a drink with someone next week. and it happened, next week i went for a drink with a guy i just met, completely unexpectedly. i didnt specify anything else other than gooing for a drink at that was the only thing that happened.

once wished for more money (also nothing specific stupid me haha) and after two days i found €5 on the floor. not much but universe did provide what i wanted :D

as i’ve said, manifestation is more complicated than law attraction and requires strong mind and strong will, so not only that you get what you wish and work for - it makes you a better person as well! We might be due another perspective switch - unless the plot stays with John until he's assembled all his friends.

When John goes to pick up Rose, it’ll probably be on LOLAR. Terezi might still be there, if she hasn’t gone clownhunting just yet.

If so, perhaps we’ll get to see whether Rose ‘n Terezi’s migraine was really due to the substance abuse + caleidoscopic colours of LOLAR + glitches… Or whether it was due to the GO timeline “supposed to” have gone differently, with John’s current retcon being the thing missing to happen. It takes a bit of effort, remembering what everyone was exactly up to on this part of the GO timeline and what would be a fortunate time for John to take it off the rails. For Kanaya, that might very well be the moment Jane set up her literal shop on LOFAF, selling her all those blood potions, for instance.

For Dirk, it might be before his conversation with Arquiusprite.

I'm getting the feeling that John might be jumping to exactly those moments in the scenes where the characters were at their lowest, self-esteem wise. Giving them a literal second breath. ;)

Not sure what we can expect from the ghost side of things though. I think they might not be duplicated, leading us to meet up with (Vriska) as we knew her, punk cut and all. Even though GO Terezi's ghost will be there with her too.

I'm half convinced Calliope will get copied somehow, but not entirely sure. The only 'real' duplicate Calliope had already, besides Alt Calliope, was her dreamself. He could snatch the body, but I was under the impression Caliborn consumed it in a literal sense to establish his dominance over the body.

Meanwhile, it occurred to me to that Andrew Hussie (the author avator) will make a comeback, probably a background cameo. I've only now realized that he's a literal ghost writer of his own story right now, in-canon. While outside of canon, he’s more becoming like Stan Lee, executive producing stories using characters he designed.

Anyway, let's start this up.

Or the Exile Town that Bec Noir massacred. Though, does this indicate a perspective switch back to Roxy... Or is the CMA where Rumble in the Pumpkin Patch is recorded? Probably the latter, meaning the perspective is switching back to Dave! Uh, the alpha version, I guess I should call him? Post-canon, adult Dave?

"His shit eating was so brutal that no one, except maybe Jake, cares that he’s taking a phone call in the middle of a live broadcast." So, was it staged, or did Jake really get a power boost, coming into his role as the Page?

Also, I feel like if Karkat's run for president gets announced by Dave on live television, "and the crowd goes wild" will apply here.

"Dave takes a seat on the couch, right in Karkat’s butt groove." Okay, so he's not going just yet. ... Karkat's butt groove is available because the latter absconded the fuck out last we saw him, hahah.

"DAVE: jake just kicked your ass DAVE: thats really all there is to say on the matter" AWWWWW yessss, hahahahah. Dirk's laid down, on the ground, on his smartphone, just like Dave was after his beatdown by Bro. Awesome callback.

I think in this case, he might be trying to keep up Jake's taste for adventure and hone his skills? That might be related to the fact that he's one of the few in the know of what John is up to (also a thing he's withholding right now), and he might be trying to get Jake battle-ready in case he needs to be. ... In case he doesn't believe they'll stay irrelevant to the plot.

"DAVE: my dog you are full of some SHIT today arent you DIRK: Absolutely." It's a good thing Dave can see Dirk typing, otherwise I might have asked whether Dirk may have reinstated an autoresponder to answer when he's busy. :P

Also, in-story, it might mean Dirk is deliberately trying to come off as weaker, to get people to boo at Jake so he can play hero?

I'm all here for NPC races doing menial labor half-way competently. :P Also, I feel like there should be some sort of visual callback to that image of Dirk's sunglasses. Something to do with the black hole from Problem Sleuth expanding to suck the entire universe up, which was reflected in the Stiller shades, and the event in itself is being called back to now, in the Black Hole sucking up the Furthest Ring!

"JAKE: What about the agitated rabble? Theyre starting to throw things. DIRK: I don’t know. Do a dance or something. Sing a song. DIRK: They love anything you do. JAKE: Ummm. JAKE: Ok sounds stupid but ill try." Using Jake's charisma as crowd control? Dirk, you beautiful mastermind.

"Jake tips an imaginary hat toward center stage and begins doing the Charleston." Hah, right, this might be a callback to that other Page dancing old-time dances, hahah, Tavros after he assembled the ghost army.

"Just as Dirk predicted, the crowd immediately loses its shit, except for a single carapacian in the front row, who continues to glower at Dirk with an expression of absolute and total contempt." If Jack hadn't remained in the session, I would've designated this guy as his great-whatever-grandchild.

"DAVE: why do you want people to hate you so much DAVE: its fucked up DIRK: You’re reading way too much into it." I don't necessarily believe that.

"DIRK: If I wanted another round of embarrassingly indulgent and mutually masturbatory psychoanalysis, I would have called my daughter instead. DAVE: hm DAVE: do i need to point out how fucking weird what you just said was or can that start going without saying at this point" This. This is Homestuck. This entire exchange.

" DIRK: The point is, playing myself up as a villain figure in this hacky rap pageant has nothing to do with getting people to dislike me. Besides, everyone loves a good villain. When they boo, they don’t really mean it." That has me thinking of Thog, a villain from Order of the Stick, actually. But yeah, Caliborn, Condy and others were really good villains. Doesn't mean we didn't mean it when we cursed them, though.

"DIRK: I think you’d be surprised by how popular I actually am. DAVE: i dunno man" At some point, playing the villain stops being a role, if you're too thorough in antagonizing the crowd. Dirk may have gone overboard here - in his role in the pageant I mean, I don't think anyone loves their god any less. Just one more way to show that, victory state or not, their original issues still come into play and challenge them to grow.

"DIRK: The point is, this is much less about me, and more about providing a foil for Jake’s heroism and charisma. DIRK: It’s very important that his popularity continues to be cultivated, to maximize his political capital. DAVE: political capital" ... Oooooh! Thinking three steps ahead of everyone again, nice going Dirk! I think Dirk might even have foreseen Dave rallying Karkat to stand against Jane, but I wonder which side he'll be choosing!

DAVE: ok how long have you known about the jane thing DAVE: i mean is this something you have been planning for like DAVE: a long time or DIRK: Planning is such an intense word." Oh, he's trying to pull the strings again, is he? What game is he playing then, what policies does he want to instate, if any? ... Is Dirk a supposed xenophone too, or just playing to the tune of the largest group of swing voters?

" DAVE: jane is a shitty candidate dude DAVE: shes going to be so shitty DIRK: I thought you’d feel that way." ... Pfff I just realized Dirk wasn't typing, since this was a phone call. He's saying this all out loud! Typing's the old way of conversation, we discarded it for the most part, everyone has their Gift of Gab now. Well, hopefully at least Dave's part isn't being recorded and broadcast.

"DIRK: I respectfully disagree. DAVE: i get shes a good friend of yours and all but even you have to admit how far up her own ass she is DIRK: Of course. I consider it to be among her best qualifications for the job." Dirk might just be thinking: a self-absorbed candidate won't notice being pulled around. Even though she's, you know, his dear friend and all, he's still planning on manipulating her. :/ Old habits and such.

"DAVE: christ DAVE: ok if nothing else have you at least taken into account the DEVASTATION to the economy this will cause???" Strider Irony(tm).

DIRK: Just beneath the surface, it’s quite a dangerous and unstable place." Oh, cool, so Dirk was acting on the same things Dave noticed, just having drawn different conclusions. Guess there's more to playing god as a winner of Sburb than sitting on your butt all day long, huh?

"DAVE: i know that DAVE: which is why actually i think it would be cool to have a president that is good instead of bad DIRK: He’s not as great as you think. DAVE: what" See, I know Dirk'll say Karkat, but I kind of wish he'd say Obama. :P

Like, I understand where Dirk's coming from, we know how unbalanced Karkat is at his worst. But Dirk's seems to be the conservatist route, while the current status quo is so unbalanced someone with at least a little liberal thinking should try changing policy, little by little. ... Okay now Homestuck has me doing political discourse. Hussieeeeeeee! ... Why am I now picturing a Homestuck AU about the climate change truant student marches of Europe?

Okay, not ruling out entirely Dirk has something spying on Dave, but that would verge too much on what Bro would've done in his place. He probably just cold-mindedly assessed his potential response.

"DAVE: cause if youve already got jake on your side then i guess we might as well just fucking quit DIRK: I wouldn’t worry about that. DIRK: He and I don’t quite have the rapport we once did. DIRK: He’s “over me” and doesn’t spare opportunities to make ostentatious demonstration of this claim. DAVE: um DIRK: Basically he doesn’t like being told what to do. Especially not by me." Cool, okay, so... Jake is needy in his own way, in showing he can fend for himself, at least that's how Dirk sees it. Guess they still hang out a lot though, just no longer "like that". That must be a letdown for the shippers, but a boon for the people that felt betrayed at seeing Dirk & Jake back together in the Credits. I like that middle road, actually! And hey, the versions of Jake & Dirk in the New Game Plus timeline, or whatever we should call it, are still fair game!

"DIRK: So it’s fair to say as of now, he’s still fully in play. DIRK: Not that I should be encouraging you, really. DAVE: you are one doubletalking son of a bitch you know that DAVE: i cant tell if you dont want us to run or are reverse psychology mindfucking us into running" Very true, that. Why would he share the truth about Jake if he wants to win, unless he wants fair competition? Best not to dwell on it too long on this neverending stairway of hidden intentions, lest we fall down it.

" DAVE: not like i can just stand around and wait for president crocker to like DAVE: write fucking grammar laws into the constitution" Pfffff, yes, I had forgotten about Jane's grammar practices, hahah. Guess she has a good running mate in Dirk for that, at least, capitalization and everything in order when he's not rapping.

"DIRK: Sorry to cut this short, but diapers are starting to come down pretty hard right now, and some of them haven’t even had their babies removed. DAVE: what" what. I hope it's at least consort babies, they're arguably the most resilient, as semi-sapient animals.

"DIRK: That was a joke." Ah.

"Jake can’t help but watch the motion, raking his eyes over the muscles shifting beneath the skin of Dirk’s neck and arms.

There is something implacably magnificent about Dirk Strider, Jake thinks, untamed like a wild game beast of incredible size and strength." ... Well then! I didn't think the narration would offer us this view from the perspective of Jake, thought it would be reseverd for John! Not entirely sure how I feel about the privilege of seeing Jake pine for Dirk, though. :P At least it clarifies where the allure is in it, for him. It's an extension of his taste for adventure and his upbringing on an island full of terribly powerful beasts.

"Of course, their history together is never far from Jake’s mind, however many years it’s been since their last tussle of an amorous nature. The old dramas and triumphs in the days of Sburb. Dirk’s companionship has been taxing to the heart, to say the least, and yet he’s taught Jake so much—about combat, philosophy, life, love." Okay, that is just such a Jake thing to phrase it like this. I'm glad we get to see he's not so oblivious or un-elloquent in his mind as he presents himself to the outside world, consciously or not.

"But sometimes, despite their checkered and problematic past, Jakes wishes that he could seize Dirk by the proverbial horns and wrest him bodily into becoming a much more agreeable fellow." Heheh, so Jake actually would like to impose on Dirk some manners. At least with him it stays with desires, while Dirk really did try to impose on Jake when they were together.

"DIRK: How about you kick off the next round? DIRK: I bet this crowd will settle its shit right down the moment you drop the latest rhymes you’ve been tinkering with." This is going to be painful to read, isn't it? ... If we're going to read them at all. ... I swear, this might just lead into them having "the xest rapoff in the history of Earth C".

"Jake’s face lights up. He composes himself, adjusting a bow tie, although he is not wearing one, and making a vague gesture like he’s twirling one end of that mustache Dirk has not yet let him grow. Dirk lets him go with a gentle smile, like the sort you’d give to a dog for performing a trick adequately. Jake responds to the signal like an Olympic athlete hearing the starter pistol. He was born for this." All the best and worst aspects of Dirk & Jake as a couple are basically summarized here. I mean, Dirk is not even WITH Jake and vetoes some of his choices. Then again, Jake really does have TERRIBLE (but hilarious) taste in mannerisms.

"JAKE: Tally ho its me, jake mcgee! JAKE: Popping my pistols off, two shots and a kiss JAKE: My aim is tops, i never miss" ... I'm not disappointed, this really IS almost physically painful to read, as expected.

... Okay that was actually a very amazing rap. Well thought out, good use of the vocabulary, dated though it is. I liked "jake-eng's" and "jape-slings" in particular, especially since that was what Vriska dismissed him as, a joke, a jape.

"The crowd, as Dirk rightly predicted, has settled its shit right down. This is not due to any accidental brilliance on the part of Jake English, but rather due to an abashed but loyal brand of pity, the kind a devoted fan cannot help but feel when they see a beloved celebrity make an ass out of themselves during a live broadcast they have waited two and a half years in line to buy a ticket for." I think this might be Dirk's POV. Not everyone's tastes in rap are as dignified as his, after all. :P Consorts in particular might love this. 1. How did you come up with your username and what does it mean?

i formulated it for tumblr and and decided to use it for ao3 to retain my branding. it’s basically just, cool weeb idk it’s not even true but i’m owning it

2. Which fanfic of yours has the most feedback? (bookmarks/subscriptions/hits/kudos)

that would be the multi-chapter i guess. though i do want to maybe someday do actual math like. compare the kudos/comment ratio with the hits and then calculate which ACTUALLY performed the best based on that.

3. What is your AO3 profile icon, and why did you choose it?

oh it’s that one art i did of oikawa saying “4 YEARS WE’VE KNOWN EACH OTHER AND YOU DON’T WANNA SEE ME JUMP OUTTA DA CAKE” except i put a comic sans ‘excuse u’. not sure why i used it either; it makes me look sassy whenever i reply to comments but it got me a mutual (lolol hi vio) and people comment about it when they see it so No Ragrets

4. Do you have any regular/favourite commenters?

yES. the oikage ao3 community is so kind to me tbh ever since i posted my first fics. of course i love every single commenter i get (with one exception, maybe.) and i appreciate the diversity when i post non-oikage fics too. (those are basically my ao3 categories. oikage and misc JDFKSJD)

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

i reread my own fics from time to time for no reason and the ones that i come back to the most are from the p+c series i did for oikage week. i’m sort of proud of them? but i feel like they didn’t get as much feedback as i would’ve liked so i appreciate them in my own time. #2 and #5 in particular.

i’m a picky person, so i only have 25 bookmarks, 8 work subscriptions, and 3 user subscriptions. the bookmarks and subscriptions may overlap

i am a private au royalty, and i have so many idek which to start, which i’m actually going to write, etc. i’m a sucker for complex and adventure aus, as well as the heart-wrenching ones

basically everything that i write yet don’t post. mostly because they involve my ocs. don’t get me wrong; i’m good at making ocs now i don’t mary sue or anything and they’re all really cool and story-relevant but people just don’t want/need to see that kind of thing, you know?

setting description, dialogue-heavy pieces, condensing a work to involve less words, romance in general u gh how an anti-romance as a genre person ended up here is a mystery to me, and just. writing in general. as far as i see, i still suck

20. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

everyone has to start somewhere, and i think a pretty good start before the actual writing is reading. reading is where the whole thing begins, and from it you can get ideas and styles and words, and develop your way of thinking. as for actual writing: it’s important not to pressure yourself to be really really good and that you find ways to have fun with it. write for your own reasons. look to improvement, but not to the point that it’s all you care about. it’s normal to get stuck, it’s normal to go slow. but if you really love it, don’t quit. keep writing and you’ll never go wrong. oh, and editing is your friend.

21. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

definitely plot out. it’s going to be impossible for me to remember everything on the fly, and ideas pop out at random times in the day and i can’t discard them, so each story has a plan. the level of detail depends on the complexity and my own creative ability at any given moment. sometimes tho i get ideas midway through speed-typing and just go with them.

22. Have you ever gotten a bad comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

no, not really bad. some kind of off-topic, yes, but not bad. i just don’t reply.

23. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, smut, etc..)

romantic things in general. the emotions and sensations that come with touch and affection, because i don’t write those based on experience.

24. What story(s) are you working on now?

…a lot. just. a lot.

25. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?

bruh yeah. i even have projects that have spinoffs/sequels where i want to write the sequels before the actual project

ideally, that would be to write and then feel satisfied with what i’ve written, in terms of the degree of accomplishment (did i just finish a subsection or a chapter? get past a part where i was stuck?) and the quality. most days, it’s too high a goal.

Chapter 5: Breakdown

Chloé’s alarm sounded from her phone and she blinked herself awake. A swipe of her finger silenced the tone and she slipped from between her silken sheets, ready to greet this glorious day. A day when Vii would finally give her all of her powers. A day when Queen Bee would be recognized as Paris’ (second) greatest heroine. And damn whatever Vii thought: Chloé was telling Sabrina her identity today. All of the girl’s hard work and adoration would finally pay off. Sabrina would get to be besties with a superhero.

She dressed in her finest, most expensive clothes, commanded Vii into her purse along with a sizable stash of pretzels, then rode the elevator to the ground floor. She stepped out and caught a glimpse of her father speaking to someone, who she recognized as a member of her father’s publicity staff.

Andre patted the man on the shoulder and said, “Ensure a considerable sum finds its way into the right hands, Emile.”

“But sir,” Emile started, his shoulders hunched. “This is exactly what D’Agrencourt’s legal team is investigating. Political corruption, bribery. Any excuse to invalidate the last election.”

“Oh, please. Armand’s lawyers are good,” the Mayor said, his smile not faltering once. “Mine are better. He’s hoping I’ll buckle before a show of force, but I won’t give him the satisfaction. Now,” the mayor poked his finger into Emile’s chest, his smile finally dropping away to reveal a grimace of displeasure, “do as I say, or I’ll replace you with someone who will.”

The man slowly nodded and made the appropriate notes on his tablet while Chloé made note of his name and face: there was no way she would go to someone like him when Queen Bee went public. He obviously didn’t know his place.

“Good morning, Daddy!” she called over. The mayor lifted his head and his face immediately brightened. “What was that all about?”

“Ah, Armand D’Argencourt is assembling a team of lawyers to dispute the results of the last election.” He shook his head. “The key is not to bow, not to show any weakness, even if it is perceived that I am in the wrong. People need a strong leader, a confident leader, and I will do whatever it takes to preserve that image.”

Chloé smiled up at her father and turned to walk out of the hotel and to the car awaiting to take her to school. Andre Bourgeois taught her everything she knew about strength and confidence. Never back down. Never break. Never show weakness. Keep people in their place, stomp down anyone who dares to challenge you. And the people loved him for it, just as Chloé’s classmates adored her.

‘ Then why is Marinette class rep and not you?’

Chloé groaned when the voice rose in her mind once more. ‘ Because they got suckered in by Maribrat’s empty promises. Where are Rose’s pink chair cushions? Where are Nino’s music privileges? Where is...whatever Juleka asked for? Marinette talks big, but she can’t follow through.’

Chloé smiled to herself as she eased into the car. ‘ Besides, even if some of them do like Marinette more,’ she reached behind her head and stroked the comb sitting in her ponytail, ‘ the plain and simple fact is that I’m a superhero and she’s not. This is the one thing I’ll always have over her.’

Now on her way to school, she pulled out her phone and thumbed over to the Ladyblog. She just needed to know how many views her interview had. When she finally found the video and her eyes found the number, her jaw fell open.

Almost 1.2 million and climbing.

A scant fifteen hours later and that was the viewer count? Almost double the count on the fight with Shockra and a blessed ten times higher than that first candid picture that totally didn't exist anymore! Chloé's face lit up as she watched the number grow and grow. So many people in Paris absolutely adored her. And the comments! Ooh, the comments!

Overwhelmed with praise, Chloé giggled and vibrated in her seat. Sure, there were a few viewers still skeptical and rather salty minority who referenced the Volpina incident, but they didn’t matter, because soon, Queen Bee would have her grand moment when all of Paris would become ‘bee-lievers’. Normally she would have cringed at the pun, but even she had to admit that was clever. When her limo pulled up in front of the school, Chloé climbed out and flicked her phone away from the interview and to the list she’d made the previous night.

‘ Instead of working on the essay like you were supposed to…’

She ignored the thought and pushed it back down. It would likely take some time before whatever Vii did to her mind would go away. Now, back to the list!

Rule like the Queen I am

Short, sweet, to the point. A simple plan that assured everyone would love her. Vii fidgeted inside her purse and Chloé dropped her disinterested gaze to it. So long as everyone played their part and knew their place, that is. A gentle sway of her hip was just enough to jostle her purse and let its occupant know to settle down. Her eyes back on her phone and a wicked smile back on her lips, Chloé just knew today would be something special.

“See you after school today, Sabrina! Love you!”

“Bye, Dad! Love you too!”

Chloé’s eyes swept to her left to witness Officer Roger kneel down to hug his daughter and Sabrina peck a light kiss on his cheek. The smile she wore as she ran inside the school building made something pinch in Chloé’s heart. ‘ How long has it been since your father took you to school?’ the voice came again. ‘ How long since he hugged you, openly told you he loved you? When was the last time you said it to him?’

A growl rumbled in Chloé’s chest, easily dispelling the pinch. ‘ He loves me! In...in his own way. He buys me fashionable clothes, he made sure Adrikins and I attend the same school, and besides, he runs the freaking city! I can’t expect him to take time away from his busy schedule just for me!’

“Oh, good morning Miss Bourgeois!” Officer Roger called out.

Chloé sniffed and turned her nose up at the policeman. “Indeed it is a good morning.” She strode towards the steps leading into the building, paused, then turned back to face Officer Roger, about to climb back into his cruiser. “Hey, Sabrina’s supposed to help me with an essay I have due tomorrow. Tell her grandparents she’ll be coming over to my place this afternoon.”

Roger’s face deflated into a dumbfounded look. “Uh, you know she’s always welcome to visit you if you’ll have her, but what do her grandparents have to do with it?”

“Aren’t...aren’t they visiting this week?”

Roger shrugged. “They live down in Marseille, so they usually only visit on holidays. Haven’t seen them since--”

“Wait,” Chloé interrupted. “You mean...they haven’t been in Paris this week?”

“Well, no, they…” His voice trailed off as he watched a ball of hot blonde fury take the stairs two at a time into the school building.

“All I’m wondering is,” Kim said to the class just as Chloé was walking in, “if I get akumatized again, will I still be Dark Cupid, or do I get a whole new set of powers?”

“Ugh, if I have a say, I vote new powers,” Nino grumbled.

Alya chuckled behind him. “Anything to keep from being the bubble-wielding anarchy clown again?” Nino groaned and slumped down in his seat.

“But it’s a legit question, right?” Kim asked. “Is there a way to test this?”

Max pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, his eyes never leaving the book in front of him. “The only way to test such a hypothesis would be for someone to get akumatized again.”

“Well if that’s all it takes,” Alix chimed in, “then case solved. Ivan was Stoneheart twice.”

“But Ladybug didn’t purify the akuma the first time,” Alya pointed out. “Different butterfly could mean different villain.”

“In any case,” Max said, “I don’t recommend playing with someone’s emotions and unleashing a potentially dangerous threat on the city just for the sake of curiosity.” He paused. “Though if we were, we would have to select our subject very carefully. Non-lethal, so that disqualifies myself and Alix, no brainwashing or mind control which disqualifies Rose, Mr. D’Argencourt, and Kim.”

“Ooh, what about Juleka?” Rose hopped up in her seat. “All she did was give people pretty makeovers!”

“I’d, uh, rather not,” Juleka mumbled, fiddling with her mirrored bracelet.

“Yeah!” Adrien agreed. “High heels are their own form of torture!”

“What about Nathanaël?” Chloé suggested as she slid into her seat. “I mean, how dangerous could stalking Marinette be?” The artist in question, who had been sketching out something, shot up in his seat, clearly offended and angry. “Or maybe Sabrina.” The girl beside her raised a brow at this. “Invisibility is pretty harmless. Besides, I’m sure she’s going to need to disappear for a while.”

At that, Sabrina leaned towards Chloé and angled her head. “What do you mean by that Chloé?”

“I mean you’ll need to be invisible so I don’t find you! ” Sabrina recoiled when Chloé jumped up and turned a furious glare at her seat mate. “You lied to me! You said you couldn’t help me with the essay because your grandparents were visiting, but your dad just told me they’re nowhere near Paris!”

“Ch-Ch-Chloé!” Sabrina cowered down in her seat, her hands raised by her face. “Th-that’s what I was trying to tell you yesterday! Miss Bustier made me promise not to help you! I-I thought if I told you my grand-grand parents were visiting--”

“No, you weren’t thinking at all! How dare you lie to me? Your friend? Your only friend, I should remind you!” Chloé felt an unfamiliar and unwanted shaking rise in her voice and she cleared her throat to disguise it. “Now, after class, you and I are going back to my room and--”

“She’s not your slave, Chloé!” came a familiar, nausea-inducing, challenging voice from behind her. Chloé turned and saw Marinette in the doorway, late as usual. “You claim to be her friend, but all you do is abuse her!”

“Butt out of this, Marinette.” She turned back to Sabrina, still cowering in her seat. “This is between me and the little liar.”

“I didn’t want to lie to you Chloé!” Sabrina attempted to explain.

“Then why did you? If you’d told me Miss Bustier made you promise not to help me, I would have understood.” Chloé planted her hands on her hips. “You still would have helped me, but it would have been better than lying to me! Betraying my trust!”

“Is doing your own homework for once that big of a deal to you?” Marinette demanded.

Chloé’s gut burned and she whirled around again. “I said butt out!”

“Chloé…” Sabrina whimpered.

“Oh, stop your sniveling! I’m sick of hearing it!” Chloé looked down at Sabrina and felt that pinch in her heart again.

‘ Your best friend, cowering before you, before your anger. Is this how a hero would treat her friends?’

As much as Chloé hated that little voice Vii had planted in her mind, it was right. She sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. “Look, I’m not without a heart, so just help me put this stupid essay together by tomorrow and all will be forgiven. I’ll even buy you that cute dress you’ve been eyeing at that new boutique.”

“...no…”

Chloé’s eyes blazed as she directed her gaze back at her friend, now standing, her eyes still downcast but a heated determination slowly growing within them.

“What did you say?”

Sabrina swallowed hard and whispered, “I said ‘no’.” She lifted her head and met Chloé’s toxic stare, the fire in her eyes growing. “Miss Bustier made me promise not to help you, and I don't appreciate you trying to...to bribe me. I'm not helping you this ti--”

The sharp crack of skin on skin stilled all movement in the room. Sabrina stood with her head snapped to the right, a redness blooming on her left cheek and tears welling in her widened eyes. Chloé’s palm stung, but it was a small price to pay to remind Sabrina who was in charge in their friendship.

“Allow me to rephrase,” Chloé growled, ignorant to how every eye in the room now regarded her with mixtures of disgust and rage. “You will help me with the essay and that is fina--” A hand with almost too strong of a grip clamped down on her wrist, and yanked her about to face a pair of furious bluebell eyes.

“That’s going too far, Chloé!” Marinette growled.

Chloé tried to pull her hand free from the trash-girl’s grip, but found she couldn’t. Since when was Marinette this strong? “H-how many times do I have to tell you? Stay out of my--”

“No, she’s right, Chloé!” Alya stepped out from her desk and stood next to her friend. “You may not have the healthiest relationship with Sabrina, but you’ve never been physical with her!”

“Hey, she brought it on herself, Césaire! Besides, how--” she tugged against Marinette’s grip “--I treat--” another tug “--my...friends!” She finally freed herself, or perhaps Marinette just let go, and shook her hand, a red mark encircling her arm. “Is none of your business!”

“Friends?” Alya glanced around the room, darkened faces all directed at Chloé. “You make it sound like you have more than one.”

“Of course I do!” Chloé insisted. “Everyone adores me!”

“Alright then, show of hands.” Alya crossed her arms and smirked. “Who here actually likes Chloé?”

Chloé’s eyes scanned the room and she saw everyone either averting their gaze or outright glaring at her. Not a single hand rose. She turned and faced Sabrina, her head and hand down, tears dripping on the desk. Chloé sniffed, trying to ignore the tearing pain in her heart. So what if Sabrina couldn’t see just how reasonable she was being? It wasn’t like she needed the girl.

“Okay, so all you’ve proven is that Little Miss Class Rep has turned everyone against me.” Chloé smiled and shoved between Alya and Chloé. “So long as Adrikins is still on my side I…” She stopped when she saw Adrien’s eyes boring holes into his desk, his hands clenched into fists on it.

“Adriki--”

“Stop, Chloé.” He spoke with so little force in his voice, but his words were far more effective at silencing her than Marinette and Alya’s shouting. “I’ve...I’ve tried to be patient with you for a long time. I’ve tried to believe that you’re still my best friend, that you’re still the girl I grew up with.” He squeezed his eyes shut. “But all you do is hurt people, and I can’t understand why. I can’t understand what happened to you.” He sighed and lifted his eyes to her, eyes full of anger, frustration, and hurt. “I’m sorry, Chloé. Maybe this is partly my fault for not calling you out on it, but I can’t be friends with someone who mistreats people like you do.”

Chloé’s breathing had gotten progressively more labored since Adrien silenced her. Everything was falling apart. First Sabrina lies to her, then the entire class leaves her high and dry for no reason, and now Adrien is talking like they aren’t friends anymore? No, this was supposed to be her day! This was supposed to be Queen Bee’s day! Today was supposed to be perfect!

“W-w-well that’s fine then! I don’t need any of you anyway!” Chloé grabbed her purse and school bag and stalked out the door, trying to forget the tears in Sabrina’s eyes and the look of hurt on Adrien’s face.

‘ How dare they?’ she fumed, the click of her heels echoing through the empty courtyard. ‘ How dare they? They all turn their backs on me? Marinette must have them all brainwashed! And Adrikins! She got to him too? That’s crossing the line! Maybe...maybe Queen Bee should visit her tonight and...no. Ladybug would be furious if I got caught hurting a civilian, even one as worthless as Maritrash. Ohh, I’m just so mad! I need something to punch. Something to hurt. I need an Akuma. I need--’

Something bumped into her and she felt something cold and wet bleed through her shirt. Her eyes cut downward to an ugly streak of brown now staining the pristine white. Her rage bubbled even higher and she lifted her eyes to see another student on the ground. He held a squashed eclair in his hand, more of the chocolate filling smeared across a shirt two sizes too large for his thin and frail form, and his breath quickened when he realized exactly who he’d run into. Chloé was about to scream at him for ruining her favorite shirt when she saw a box next to him adorned with the logo for the Dupain-Cheng Bakery.

‘ Oh, that’s just what I needed right now! To be reminded of Marinette!’

But seeing the box formed a wicked plan in her mind. She raised her foot and brought it crashing down on the box, not caring when more chocolate and cream oozed out over her shoe. The boy looked down at his crushed snacks then up at Chloé, his eyes watering and his lip trembling.

“That...that was my breakfast.”

Chloé turned up her nose in disgust. “Eclairs for breakfast? So unhealthy.”

“Th-the Dupain-Chengs usually give me some leftovers from their morning rush. Sometimes...sometimes it’s all I get to eat during the day…”

“Well next time get them to give you something healthier than these logs of empty calories.” She strode around him and out the school doors. “Really, you should be thanking me.”

Yes, that’s what she needed to cook up. Start with one emotionally vulnerable peasant, sprinkle in a dash of tough love, add one evil butterfly, and you have yourself a recipe for one punching bag.

Best plan ever.

Worst plan ever.

“Feel my hunger, my children!” the Akuma shrieked, his tongue running over his sharp steel teeth. “Together we will devour this city, and I'll never go hungry again!”

Gluttoneer ( oh my god where does Hawkmoth get these names?) wore a hideous yellow bodysuit and had a set of steel jaws coating most of his face. He dashed through the streets blasting everyone in sight with the clearly possessed pastry box, adding to the starving horde while also taking a bite out of everything he could find: cars, trees, rocks, houses. Every restaurant in the arrondissement had locked their doors, covered every window. Every bakery, every coffee shop, ever pizza parlor…

Queen Bee’s stomach clenched again and she nearly doubled over in pain. In her state, even pizza was starting to sound appetizing. She’d been blasted early on in the fight, jumping in even when Ladybug told her to stay back until they could figure out the Akuma’s powers. But Queen Bee wanted to hurt something. She wanted to take out all of her anger and frustration on this pathetic loser who would be fixed right up after the fight. She groaned and attempted to focus on something, anything other than food. She made another attempt at flying, but her hunger combined with fatigue from the battle that started nearly an hour ago made it impossible to get off the ground. Ladybug landed beside her a second later, one arm wrapped around her middle.

“We need to stop him before he eats half the city!” she shouted.

“We need to stop him before I eat half the city!”

Ladybug turned on her, her eyes flaring. “You know, you wouldn’t be like this if you’d just listened!”

“I told you, I can handle a few--” she grunted and clutched her stomach again “--a few hunger pangs! I needed some stress relief so--”

“So you thought it would be a good idea to take out your anger on an Akuma?” Ladybug grabbed Queen Bee by the shoulder and squeezed a little harder than she likely intended. “There’s still a person in there! We can’t be too violent with them!”

“What does it matter what I do to him? Your magic fixes everything in the end anyway!”

Queen Bee could feel Ladybug’s hand tremble through her suit. The heroine’s eyes went dark, brow furrowed in an uncharacteristic rage. “How... dare…!”

Before Ladybug could utter another word, Chat Noir dropped between the women and pulled them apart. “Hey! I know the hunger is making you two angry, but we need to fight the Akuma, not each other!”

Ladybug cut her eyes to her partner the back to Queen Bee. She sighed and groaned against another twist of her gut. “You...you’re right. We need to focus on the city.” She turned back to Chat. “How are you so level headed? You got blasted right after I did.”

He grinned and winced, likely from his own hunger. “That’s my secret, my Lady. I’m always hangry.”

She chuckled lightly. “I...I understood that reference.”

“If all you two are going to do is flirt with each other,” Queen Bee grumbled, “then I'll handle this myself!” She mustered all the strength we could and forced her wings to lift her off the ground. She rushed towards Glutoneer with her stinger raised, leaving Ladybug’s cries of protest behind her, ready to unleash a flurry of blows against the villain.

Unfortunately, another clench of her stomach forced a groan up her throat, alerting Glutoneer to her approach. He whirled around, opened his jaws, and clamped them down on Queen Bee’s stinger. Before she could gawk down at her stinger-- half of her stinger---, he backhanded her into a storefront.

Queen Bee could only remember what followed in a series of blurred flashes. She remembered Ladybug forcing her to sit on a bench in the park while she and Chat went after Glutoneer. She remembered arguing, remembered shoving Ladybug and insisting she could still fight. She remembered Ladybug’s forlorn look before she swung off and left Queen Bee behind, still screaming. She remembered fighting off the anger, the tears, the urge to jump through one of the windows of the Dupain-Cheng bakery and stuff her face with everything she could get her hands on.

She remembered the red storm of ladybugs that swept away all of the damage and her hunger. She remembered taking to the skies, no longer weighed down by an empty stomach. She remembered seeking out her partners and finding them on a far off rooftop. She remembered thinking of exactly what she would say to Ladybug about how she deserved to be treated like a hero instead of a child. She remembered landing on the rooftop with a chimney between her and them. And when she got closer…

She remembered their words.

“Ugh, I know she’s new at this,” Ladybug complained stomping around the rooftop with her fists clenched, “but Queen Bee can be so...so…”

“It’s like you said, my Lady,” Chat said, planting a hand on her shoulder to still her, “she’s new. It’s gonna to take time for her to settle into her place on the team.”

“But how hard is it to follow orders?” Queen Bee knew she should step out and say something, but her curiosity held her back, kept her hidden. “All she needed to do was stay back like I said! And did you hear what she said about the Akuma? ‘Stress relief’? It’s like she has no regard for anyone but herself!”

“She probably just had a bad day and needs us to be patient with her.”

“A bad day doesn’t excuse going out of her way to hurt people! I mean, she’s not near as bad as Chloé but…”

Queen Bee's world froze. Her breath caught in her throat, her body stilled, but her mind continued to whirl.

This wasn't supposed to happen.

'I don't appreciate you trying to...to bribe me.'

Today was supposed to be perfect.

'That’s going too far, Chloé!'

Everyone was supposed to love her.

'Who here actually likes Chloé?'

Everyone did love her.

'I can’t be friends with someone who mistreats people like you do.'

Everyone loved her...

'You know, you wouldn’t be like this if you’d just listened!'

Ladybug...loved her...

'She's not near as bad as Chloé...'

...right?

...you hear now what she truly thinks of you?...

Queen Bee trembled when a new voice entered her mind.

...your hero's not as heroic as you thought, is she?...

It wasn't the voice Vii planted in her mind. It was different...

...she doesn't deserve to be a hero, not like you, my Queen...

...familiar...

...take her Miraculous from her and bring it to me...

Rage boiled up from her heart. Her face contorted in a wicked snarl. Her body lifted from the ground and shot right at Ladybug. The heroine saw Queen Bee coming, but could do nothing as the black and gold bullet plowed into her and didn't stop until her back met a chimney several buildings over. She slumped to the ground, coughed, the wind gone from her lungs, and lifted her head, gasping when she saw Queen Bee standing over her, her eyes filled with fury and outlined by a glowing purple butterfly.

“Is that what you really think of me, Ladybug?” Queen Bee spat. When the spotted heroine reached for her yoyo, Queen Bee thrust her stinger, coated in a purple miasma, just under the girl's chin. “ Is that what you really think? I can't believe I ever admired you!” She shook her head, flinging tears to the roof beneath them. “I worshiped you, loved you!” She wrapped her fingers around Ladybug's throat and jerked her to her feet, her stinger leveled between those eerily familiar bluebell eyes. “You're the reason I wanted to be a hero! I-”

“Ladybug!” Chat Noir called from behind Queen Bee as he vaulted across roof after roof.

Queen Bee called upon her drones without turning. When they materialized, she shrieked, “Tear Chat Noir apart!”

“No!” Ladybug had barely cried when Queen Bee slammed her head back into the bricks.

“I thought you of all people would love me!” she sobbed, unable to keep her voice even any longer. “Because you're Ladybug! You love everyone! You're supposed to be kind! Gentle! Passionate! You're brave, brilliant, creative, selfless!” She could just barely hear Vii crying out in her mind, but ignored her, her grip tightening around Ladybug's throat. “You're strong, you're confident, and that's why I admired you! Because y-you're...”

Queen Bee's voice trailed off, her rage dying and her eyes softening as she realized just what she was about to say.

“You're...”

She tried to hold her next words on the tip of her tongue, because to speak them would be to give voice to a truth she had realized long ago, but dared not acknowledge. However, in her emotionally compromised state, the truth fought its way out.

“You're...everything I'm not.”

Her vision blurred as more tears flooded her eyes. Her grip loosened, allowing her stinger to clatter to the roof and Ladybug to work her way free. Chat, having evaded the drones until they dissipated, called his Cataclysm on the possessed weapon and released the butterfly within. Queen Bee dropped to her knees, barely registering Hawkmoth screaming in her mind before Ladybug severed their link.

“Queen Bee?”

The striped girl lifted her eyes to find Ladybug looking down on her, not with anger, but with concern. She reached out, but Queen Bee flinched away and jumped to her feet, her wings buzzing harder and faster than they ever had. Between her tears and the speed with which she flew over the city, she had no idea where she was going until her boots dropped onto the balcony outside her room and her transformation peeled away. Chloé threw open the doors, staggered into her room without bothering to close them, and once more dropped to her knees, her arms folded over her middle.

She tried. She tried to calm her mind, to slow her tears. She tried to compose herself. She tried to remember her father's words: Never back down. Never break. Never show weakness. She was Chloé Bourgeois. Chloé freaking Bourgeois. She doesn't have emotional breakdowns. She is strong. She is confident. She swallowed hard and muttered those words, repeated them like a mantra.

“I am strong. I am c-confident. I am--”

“Honey...”

“G-go away, Vii.” Chloé didn't lift her head to acknowledge the kwami, and she continued her chant.

Though the magic of the Miraculous compelled her to obey, Vii fought through it and said, “This isn't what your mother meant when she--”

Chloé's eyes snapped open and she turned her tear-streaked eyes up at the floating spirit. “Shut up! What do you know of my mother? You don't know anything !”

Vii sighed and floated down closer to her chosen. “I've been a part of your mind for the past few days. I saw the memory of your mother's death.”

“Shut up.” Chloé squeezed her eyes shut.

“I know you miss her.”

“Shut up. ” Her jaw clenched against another wave of tears.

“I know you don't want to be alone and--”

“I said--” Chloé reached behind her head, wrenched the comb from her hair, and threw it into her open closet “-- shut up! ”

She waited for another comment, another retort, but none came. She slowly lifted her head and glanced about through the thin curtain of her loose hair. Vii was gone. She was… Chloe shut her eyes shut again and hooked her fingers into her scalp. She refused to say it, to admit it. She ground her teeth together, trying to bite back the pain, the humiliation. Faces flashed through her mind: Sabrina, Adrien, her classmates, Vii…

...her mother.

...she was alone.

And it was all her fault.

She couldn't hold it in any longer. She wept until her eyes burned. She screamed until her throat ran raw. She let every bit of fear and pain and denial pour out of her because inside there was just no more room. She continued to weep even when her butler found her a half hour later. He couldn't get an explanation out of her as to how she had gotten home from school, or why she was crying in her room, but tucked her into her bed regardless. And there she lay for the next few hours, wetting her pillow with her tears, until her father could take leave of his duties at city hall and come home to his daughter.

The room was dark and quiet when he entered, the silence only broken by Chloé's ragged breaths. He wandered over to her bed and sat next to her, his hand finding her head poking out of the blankets and gently stroking it.

“Chloé? What's wrong, dearest? What happened?”

She sniffed and turned her head, not quite looking at him, but just enough for him to see the redness in her eyes. “W-why did she lie to me?”

“Who? Who lied to you?”

“Sh-she said...if I was strong and confident, that I'd ha-have friends.” She closed her eyes and curled in on herself under the sheets. “B-but everyone h-hates me! And I'm all alone and I don't know why she lied to me.”

The mayor leaned over. “Who?”

It took a few seconds, but Chloé finally sat up and looked at him. In that moment, he saw, not a fifteen-year-old young woman, but a scared eight-year-old girl who had just witnessed her mother's death.

“Mommy. Why, daddy? Why did mommy lie to me?”

Fu sat in meditation, preparing himself for the next step in his plan to combat Hawkmoth. Wayzz sat beside him, next to a plate of sliced carrots, calmly munching until his head perked up. His antenna bobbed, seeking out particular energies and failing to find them.

“Vii has gone dormant.” He looked up to Fu. “Chloé has rejected her.”

The old master opened his eyes and sighed. “I anticipated as much, but did not foresee it happening so soon.” He pulled his cane to him and pushed himself to his feet. “I had hoped that the Bee and Moth would balance each other, but it seems the Moth is far too corrupt to be an effective balancing force.”

“What now, Master?”

Fu stood silent for a minute before flashing Wayzz a sad smile. “It is time for our paths to diverge.”

Wayzz lifted from his plate to float before Fu's face. “No, Master. There...must be another way.”

“It will take time for Miss Bourgeois to find the hero within herself. Until that happens, Ladybug and Chat Noir still need help.”

“Then send Keela! She can--”

“Be of great help, I agree.” Fu opened the chest hidden within his phonograph and took out the necklace. “But her wielder will need a partner to balance her. With Pann lost to us, that means I must pass you on to a new Master.” He slid open a drawer and removed a pair of identical black boxes, lowering the necklace into one of them before turning back to Wayzz. “This is not an ending, old friend. It is a new beginning for you. For us both.”

Wayzz pressed his forehead against his Master's...his former Master. “I have had far too many of both.”

Old and tired fingers reached down to the jade charm. “Goodbye Wayzz.”

The turtle kwami pulled away and matched the sad smile on his former wielder. “Goodbye...Fu.”

For the writing prompt! Death, a majestic lady and Life, a handsome man kinda like each other, but in their sort of relationship Death accidentally kills him, and the role of Life falls onto a 5 year old boy, and Death has to teach him how to be Life while struggling with her grief over Life's death (sorry if its complicated haha)

Ok so btw, this isn’t actually finished. But im 2500 words in and 3 weeks over due (sorry but university is a bitch). So i thought I would post it and add to it later when I finish. Sorry n advance for any stupid spelling/grammar mistakes, i mainly write at night, when creativity is high but logic is not!

Death sat on her throne, her pale skinilluminated by the torches that lined the walls. She held a chalice tenderlywith her fingertips, taking sips every now and then, listening to the cries ofthe dead that filtered through her palace. They weren’t crying because theywere sad or because they hated the Underworld; they were crying because theywere lonely, most of them had no family down there to comfort them. Theirscreams and cries however gave Death a sense of accomplishment and triumph. Shefelt like she had accomplished her job, done what she was created to do. Shewas amidst her self-congratulations when a knock at the door interrupted herthoughts.

“Come in.” She said, slightly disgruntled.

“My apologies Madame Death but someone ishere to see you.” Said one of her minions.

Like all her minions he had no eyes, amouth which more resembled that of a turtle and wrinkled, dry skin. They servedher without a second thought, she liked that about them. She just wished theyweren’t so hideous to look at. Her minion beckoned to the open door and a manwalked in, not just any man. This man was Life himself. He stood tall andproud. His hair was golden and gave a slight glow, it was curly and bouncedwhen he moved. His face was perfectly sculpted, his cheekbones and jawline wereprominent and he had the face of someone who could sell you a car with only awink. But this wasn’t why Death liked him, no. It was because he was hercounterpart, she would not exist without him, he gave her a purpose and forthat she admired him. Most people assume that they are in a never-ending feudbut it is quite the opposite, it’s more like an unspoken trust.

“So, what do I owe the pleasure?” Deathsaid as she adjusted herself on her throne.

“Unfortunately, I’m here on business.” Lifesaid, running his hand through his hair. “I need you to prematurely take life.I know it’s not usual of me to ask this but I need you to do it.”

“Something must be up if you need me to dothis?” Death asked, leaning forward, intrigued.

“It’s for the right reasons.Over-population and what not. Plus the people I need you to…prematurely unalive are not doing theworld any good.”

“Alright I’ll do this for you…if you dosomething for me.” Death said with a smirk.

“Sure, anything?” Life responded, takenaback.

“Have dinner with me tonight.” She said,standing up from her throne. She walked over to Life, gracefully gliding acrossthe floor, her long dark silk robes dragging behind her. Life smiled as sheapproached.

“Sure, dinner it is.” He reached out totouch her but she reeled back. “Oh I’m sorry, am I reading the situation wrong.

“No, gosh no. It’s just we can’t touch. Iguess when I was born or created or whatever, I was cursed, whatever I touchdies.  Can’t control it, never been ableto. I’ve never touched a person who’s wanted to touch me before. My touchbrings death and frankly I don’t want you to die.”

“Oh, I see. Well I can create life with atouch, watch.” He brought his hands together as if he was holding an invisibleball. His fingertips glowed and particles fell out of them and coalesced. Theparticles twirled and knitted themselves together. Roots formed and grew in hishand until he was holding a small daisy. He held it out to her and shehesitantly took it. As soon as her fingers touched the stem it withered away,like the life source was being sucked out of it. In the space of a few secondsshe was holding a rotted, withered remnant of a flower. She looked at Life, hereyes were slightly red.

“I’m sorry.” She said, letting it drop tothe floor.

“I have a crazy idea. You destroy life, Icreate it. So together we should reach an equilibrium.”

“That is a very loose use of science.”Death replied with a little giggle.

“Well there’s no harm in trying.”

“Excuse me? You could die? Other than beinghighly ironic, it’ll literally destroy the world. If you die, then there’s nolife and without life there’s no death. It’s a death sentence for me too.”Death said frantically. “Look, I can wear these very stylish gloves, then wecan touch…if you wish.”

“That would be better than potentiallydying I guess.” He said as he watched Death glide over to her throne and pickup a pair of long black gloves that were laying on the arm rest. She slippedthem on and reached out to Life, waiting for him to take her hand. He gentlygrabbed her fingers and pulled her close so he could grab her other hand. Theystood like that for what seemed like forever, staring into each other’s eyes.Life cleared his throat. “I should get going, gotta keep up the flow of lifey’know. I’ll send you the…tasks once I get back home. Then I’ll come round fordinner”

“Sure, I’ll get onto those…tasks you wantme to do.” She said quietly, slightly disappointed Life was leaving. He lent infor the kiss, as a formality, Death was paralysed by shock as his lips touchedhers. She pulled back but it was too late, his veins bulged black as his tannedskin turned pale like dirty snow. He fell to his hands and knees and heaved.

“Why did I…do that…?” He wheezed betweenbreaths. Death dropped down to the floor beside him trying to lift him up, tryingher best not to touch him.

“What did you do you stupid man?” Sheyelled, as he started turning grey. Life’s face started to get tight and hishair was losing it’s golden shimmer, slowly becoming a dark silver.

“I’m sorry…it was instinct and now I’mdying…I’m sorry.” He whispered through almost lifeless lips.

“Can’t you just…I don’t know…’life’ yourself back? Use your powers?” Deathpleaded. Holding Life’s head between her gloved hands.

“Just find me…when I’m gone.” Life said.His face had sunken at the cheeks and he resembled a skeleton. “Show me what todo…”

“What do you mean?” She yelled but it wastoo late, his head was limp in her hands. All that was left of Life was boneand skin, his hair had turned ash grey and his skin looked bleak and dark likeit was frostbitten. “Shit.”

“Is now a bad time?” One of Death’s minionssaid, popping his head around the corner.

“This is probably the worst time in livinghistory, so whatever it is it better be important.” She growled.

“Well the thing is, I couldn’t help fromover hearing what happened but I know what he means by ‘Showing him what todo’.” He mumbled, motioning the last part in air quotations.

“Well spit it out?” She yelled at herminion.

“I believe that because Life is eternalthen someone has to take the mantle if ‘Life’ ever…dies. So that means the rolemust be taken up by someone else. We need to find that someone before theycause any harm.”

“So…do we have any clue where they are?”Death asked, slowly placing Life’s head on the floor as his skin deterioratedto what now looked like ash.

“Considering this is the first time eitherof you have died we don’t really have a clue. But we should start looking now,before things go wrong.” Death’s minion said.

“Alright, assemble a group of minions andget on to this. We need to find who this person is and where they live.” Shedemanded. Death then turned to the husk of what was Life’s body and spokequietly. “I’ll deal with this.”

 The day passed slowly as Death preparedLife’s body for a respectful ceremony. She rested his body in an obsidian blackcoffin with white marble edges. The inside of the coffin was pure white silk,Life’s head was resting on a puffy silken pillow. He was wrapped in a golden blanketthat shimmered like his hair once did. The coffin itself was placed in themiddle of a large cavern lined with green torches. Death stood at the head ofthe casket, silent, not knowing what to say. She wiped one single tear from herand leant down to kiss Life’s forehead. Death took a slow breath and eased thecasket shut.

“Goodbye.” She whispered.

“We found him!” One of her minions yelled,stumbling into the large cavern. “We found Life, well the new version of him.”

“Good.” Death said regaining her composure.She cleared her throat before she spoke. “Alright where is he.”

“Calcutta, India your Majesty. But we mustmove fast, his power is getting out of control. That’s how we were able topinpoint him.”

“Ok, grab 2 more minions and follow me.”She said with her usual authority. She held out her arm and a swirl of blackand green smoke spiralled out until it hung in the air about two metres highand one metre wide in an oval shape. She stepped in it and walked through tothe other side and embraced the warm wind that greeted her. Three minionsspilled through the portal behind her. She held out her hand once more and smokedissipated into thin air. She looked out on the city where they arrived, theycame out the portal on a roof top. The city was tightly packed, washing lineshung between the yellow stained buildings, a smog hung in the sky and the airsmelled like a disused port-a-potty.

“Ew.” Said all her minions in unison. They clutchedtheir nose/beaks and started groaning at the smell.

“Shut up. We need to find the new Life.Point me where.” She demanded. All three minions dropped their hand from theirfaces and pointed to where the sun was slowly setting over the horizon. “Howfar?”

“About 3 kilometres.” They all spoke.

“So we run.” Death said. She looked down ather robes which hung loosely of her body. “Ok first we change, then we run.”

“Agreed.” They said. Death held her armsand the same swirling black and green force that created the portal surrounded herbody head-to-toe. It remained for a few seconds then dissipated as quickly asit had conjured itself. Death stood there sporting a black jacket made from astrong and durable material with matching pants. Her jacket was unzipped androlled up at the sleeves, she wore a blue shirt underneath which pictured askull and crossbones made from an assortment of flowers. Her minions lookedover at her, she wasn’t sure what they could see with their lack of eyes butshe could feel them judging here.

“Stop staring and show me where to go.” Shebarked. The minions bumped into one another as they turned to where the sun wassetting. Another thing Death liked about her minions is they were surprisinglystrong and athletic even though they didn’t look it. The minions leapt over tothe next rooftop with ease and didn’t stop when they hit the roof, they carriedon running and jumped onto the following rooftop. It wasn’t hard for Death tokeep up as she was just as nimble, she leapt from her standing point and ranacross the next rooftop, closely following her minions. They moved in unison,avoiding obstacles and giving each other boosts when necessary. Death could feeleyes on the streets looking up at her as she flew between rooftops, she didn’tcare, she was determined to find Life and put an end to this madness.

They had been jumping between buildings forwhat seemed like forever and Death was getting tired.

“Surely we are there?” She yelled, out ofbreath.

“Just over these two buildings.” One of herminions called back to her. But she knew where to go before it spoke. She couldhear a commotion, a collection of people where gathered on the streets, murmuring.The Sun was setting low and casting long shadows which hid Death and herminions as they spied on the street below. She peered over the edge of thebuilding she stood on and could see a large amount of people gathered around adoorway craning their neck for a view of something in the house.

“He’s in there.” One of her minions said.

“I’m so glad you pointed that out,otherwise I would’ve totally missed that.” She said sarcastically. “Look wegotta clear these people so we can get in there and secure life.”

“You could kill someone, that woulddefinitely get their attention.” One of her minions spoke up.

“No, I’m not doing that. They will passwhen their time comes. We need to think of something better.”

“Well if you don’t want to make alivepeople dead, how about making dead people alive?” One of the other minionssuggested.

“You know what, that could actually work.Maybe you aren’t all a waste of space after all.” She said with a slight smilein her voice. She held her arm over the edge of the roof and aimed it at thestreet. Black powdery smoke spilled from her fingertips and twirled down to thecracked street floor below, the tendrils of darkness intertwined and coalescedas it descended forming one black mass. It hit the street violently, spillingsideways then quickly falling through the cracks. “Yes, I can feel plenty ofdeath here. Just gotta tweak it a little and..”

Before she could finish her sentence theblack mass rose steadily from the cracks and formed slowly into distinctive humanoidfigures. Three figures stood on the street, features slowly forming on their facesas if they were rising out of water. In a matter of seconds three people stoodon the street, standing still, blank faced. Their skin was slightly ashen andtheir eyes were sunken and glazed.

“Wow you did it.” One of her minionswhispered under it’s breath.

“Did you think I couldn’t?” She snapped.

“No your Majesty. It wasn’t surprise it was….wonder?”It stammered. She turned away from him and concentrated on the figured below.She closed her eyes and they stumbled sideways, like the whole ground hadshifted and they were steadying themselves. She held both of her arms out formore control and the figures stumbled in the same general direction. Theyheaded towards the crowd, slowly but surely. One of the men noticed one ofthem, his face quickly turned from surprise and confusion to terror and fear. Hepushed through the rest of the crowd screaming. Most people looked confused butthey gradually cottoned on as they saw the figures approaching. They probablythought zombies had risen from the dead to come and attack them, this isn’t entirelytrue, they aren’t true zombies. They are souls that have been put intoartificial bodies, there aren’t actually rotting corpses, but the civilians didn’tknow that. In a matter of seconds the streets were clear and the screams had dissipatedinto the dusk.

“Now’s our chance.” Death said withurgency. She leapt down from the building and landing on the street with aheavy thud. Dust curled up around her but she wasn’t phased, she wasdetermined. Her minions followed, each making a distinct thud as they landed,the third one made a tiny welp as he hit the ground. She maintained focus andspoke with slight disgust. “Toughen up.”

“Yes… Madame Death.” It stuttered. Deathwalked into the buulding without a second thought and stopped in her tracks.

“Oh you have got to be kidding me.” Sheexclaimed.

NHL Trade Deadline 2019: The Aftermath

  What Happened at the Deadline?

Today was Lou Lamoriello’s first trade deadline day with the NY Islanders. From all indications he pushed a few offers, but could not find the appropriate deal to add to the Burger Barn’s menu. Something that has happened in Islanders Country a lot over the past decade of  deadlines.

The last splash was in 2006 when Garth Snow sent a bag of non-magic beans to Edmonton for Ryan Smyth. What he ended up with was poke check into the playoffs, and first round ouster by a superior Buffalo team. Why Did it Happen?

Lou has a relatively young first place team that is buying into a new system. They’re not only in first, but they are on a post learning curve trajectory that should keep them there. Even if other teams have improved themselves at the deadline, the Islanders GAVE NOTHING AWAY.

Their biggest assets are still mysteries. But what we do know of them is that they all fit into the current scheme. Most would think that Anthony Beauvillier would have been on the block for some of the bigger fish. But I also assume that there would have had to be some kind of extension behind a deal involving Beau. Lou would not have given away a 20G RFA with center potential for a rental.

The Islanders have been short on right handed defensemen for as long as I’ve been a fan… and that’s a pretty long time. The other two items on most price lists would have been Dobson and/or Wilde. You can flip a coin (it had better be three sided) because one of Pulock, Dobson or Wilde will be on a Norris list within five years. It’s too early to tell which one of the “prospects” will be on that list, so they’re both too valuable to be traded for a rental.

As I pointed out earlier this year, there were some names that were most likely available. Lou just couldn’t find the right mix of picks, those prospects, a target and a seller’s consent.

Where Are They Now?

The Islanders lead the Washington Capitals by two points, and have two games in hand. At this point it’s basically a three-horse race for first with Columbus making a late run. The Blue Jackets helped themselves immensely by not giving up any important roster players, and acquiring Matt Duchene,  Adam McQuaid and Keith Kinkaid. This very well could become a dogfight or a walkover in the next two weeks. The Isles’ schedule is littered with division rivals and they have two more games with Washington (3/1, @ 4/6) and Columbus (3/11 and @ 3/26). Those games will be paramount.  The final game against Washington could determine home team advantage for the first round.

Where Do They Go From Here?

There are a few paths they can go by,  but in the long run… they need to think of building a team for their new arena.  The first step in that is seeing what you have on the current roster.  

Some Questions About The Future

Where does Anthony Beauvillier fit in the Islanders’ future? Is he a top six wing? Can he be a bottom six center? Can he eventually replace a guy like Val Filppula? Can he become the next Butch Goring? Can he win a face-off? Will they ever use him to kill penalties?

Will Josh Ho-Sang ever get his act together? I’m not one who is going to say I know ANYTHING about Josh’s situation beyond what out on the surface. The young man has amazing talent, and when he throws that on the ice with full focus and the full effort of his physical abilities he’s a force. When he loses that focus, he has had some issues that keep him off the ice all together. I personally want to see him with guys like Ladd, Lee, Nelson and Beau. He has to earn NHL playing time to do that. Maybe there is one last gasp this season to see if they can put some trust in him. It will make a big difference to his first RFA deal, what they do with Eberle, and whether he is an Islander after June.

Is Michael Dal Colle a full time NHL player. He had a very good NHL showing. I think he earned a full time NHL gig next year. He might even make a cameo later in the season and possibly the playoffs. Does he have a “beast mode”. He certainly has showed it in the AHL, and he has shown plenty of “moments of confidence” against NHL vets. It will be fun to watch him evolve as a player.

Off The IR

How do they re-assemble the puzzle with their returning pieces? I’m gonna push for the BrockLeeBar line until it happens, or they give us BrockHoLee. Lee and Nelson have been very good with Jordan Eberle, but they are not creating scoring chances at a first line clip. The Isles have been pretty good at 5v5 scoring (but not defending) over the past 4 years. They need a number one line again.

This year, neither top line has really stood out as a scoring threat. The Nelson line, however, has scored more than they have given up, and that is a rarity in recent Isles history. They need to shuffle that a bit. Andew Ladd will help that. I’m sure Trotz will be reluctant to break up what works with Lee+Nelson+Eberle. I expect to see it eventually. It could be a big boost in the second season.

Hickey will eventually be paired with an recent partner. It could be with Mayfield as a solid enough third pair. When that happens you can create a single offensive pairing that can defend the neutral and defensive zones as well. Everybody that has watched Bridgeport games for the last four years knew it had to happen eventually. Pulock and Toews for 15 minutes a night at 5v5. Make it happen!

We still have a handful of very important unrestricted free agents. Lou has passed the sell by date. Now he has a few months to sign them. No panic. My opinion… in order of importance.

Anders Lee. He’s their captain. He’s our captain. Don’t let two consecutive July’s mark the Islanders losing a captain. This one would be worse than the last one. All evidence points to Lee being an Islander through and through… so it would be on Lou if they lost him.

Robin Lehner was the biggest question mark when the season started. He has become the biggest exclamation point. He should be part of their goaltending future.

Brock Nelson. Even I thought he was a trade deadline goner in October. But Brock+structure+team buy in has been the biggest surprise of the season. If anybody thought in October that Lee, Nelson and Eberle would be the #1 line of a first place team raise your hand. Yeah, I didn’t think so. Brock has quietly (maybe invisibly) contributed 20G a year for 5 years. Now he’s in the locomotive, certainly not a passenger. He’s going to want conductor pay. Given the market for top six centers that can shoot and create from the forecheck, he’s going to get it. This is going to be a tough negotiation, but I think they come out with a solid 5 year deal.

Val Filppula. The Isles will have almost as many signed options at third line center next year as they did last year. None. I advocated for some AHL training for Beau, but that wasn’t popular. Now here we are. Val has been great. Way better than expected. They do not have another option ready in Bridgeport. Otto Koivula will get games next year, probably. You can’t rely on him yet. I think Val will be an early July signing after Lou gets to troll the waters a bit. If he lands Matt Duchene they are done. They have the resources to do it.

Post Apocalypse Outlook

All in all I’d say the Islanders came out of this okay. They go into the playoffs with a few new weapons to deploy. They also get to battle test some players with very little or no playoff experience. If they come out of it better players win win. If they win win, then Yes Yes Yes!!!
