Hey so I've read some of your IBS posts and... Like I've got the same problem when my period hits I have to phone in sick for at least a day and I thought that the extreme cramps and bleeding, nausea, fatigue and intestinal problems were kinda normal lol Like I ended up calling the ER last month cos I thought one of my ovarian cysts erupted but it turned out it was just rly bad cramps So I guess the question is what should I tell my doc or obgyn?

Most people have inconvenient or uncomfortable symptoms and most people complain when they do have their period but there's been a bit of a culture where more severe symptoms are normalised and "to be expected". Generally speaking, for most things, when something impedes with normal everyday activities, it is an issue. So that definitely sounds like an issue! I'd speak to a doctor since you're having a lot of different symptoms, though they might refer you to a gynecologist as well. If it's been so bad you've gone to the ER they might have you do an ultrasound as well. Doctors can be very quick to minimise any symptoms related to periods so just make sure you talk about how it feels, how you try to treat it (what/if anything helps), how it affects you, what it keeps you from doing, etc.
