"Sometimes a family is 2 halfas, a liminal girl, a half dragon lady, a plant lady who also has dragon powers, a reincarnated Pharoah/techno-geek, and their ghost dog. All of which are teenagers who have never met a trustworthy adult in their lives, except for the younger halfa, who is arguably a baby but still looks like a teenager and sometimes acts like one anyway."
"..."
Superheros responses to this:
Wonder Woman: "Does your family have room for an Amazon warrior?"
Kon: "Got room for a half kryptonian clone?"
Any speedster: "Got room for a few speedsters and their ordinary family members in that family?"
Batman: "...Alfred call the guy."
Add more reactions if you'd like. It honestly depends on who's around.

Fighting Style:
Jessie has gotten her powers before Danny, so she was able to practice with them and later control them. After Danny got his powers, that's when Jessie showed her powers to him and the two became a ghost fighting team. She does her best to help teach him how to control his powers and teaches him how to fight by using Judo since Jessie learns how to fight in martial arts from her father. Jessie likes to kick and punch, but she finds kicking more powerful than punching. And because she is flexible, kicking is as easy as breathing. She also realized that her dancing can be used to fight her enemies and avoid their attacks, so because of this, she likes close combat than distance combat.
Backstory
Birth:
Jessie was born as the youngest child, and was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Early Life:
Jessie's parents once owned a small ranch with animals such as cows, chickens and horses. Jessie always loves horses as long as she can remember, her father puts her in a saddle even before she learned how to walk. She loves riding horses so much to the point she even learns how to ride them with and without a horse saddle and reins. She used to watch wrestling with her father as long as she can remember, so even though her mother disapproves of this, Jessie continues to watch wrestling shows with her father such as WWE.
Her father was once a judo expert trainer before he met Jessie's mother, who worked at a ranch her whole life, but still found a job at a local office, so he taught Jessie and her sisters how to fight and defend themselves at a young age. Even though the era of Greasers has ended, there are some descendants of the greasers who loves to dress up in clothing like their ancestors, Jessie just so happens to run into a group of them while playing in the park with her family one summer afternoon. Luckly the gang she met are good and begins to hang out with them.
Middle School:
Because of her hanging out with the greasers' descendants, she begins to dress up like them too and had certain rules of the greasers that was appropriate for her and her friends to follow as they grew together as they watched wrestling and like doing sports, even joining some sports clubs, one of them is a wrestling club which Jessie joined. When she was attending middle school, they attend to the class field trip to a lab that is own by a team of scientists called the Guys in White. Jessie wasn't very excited about it, knowing it'll bored her out of her mind, but little did she know, it was about to change her life forever.
During the tour, Jessie decided to go to the restroom during lunch, but end up getting lost when she was done, she stumbles upon one of the portals and being born with autism, she got curious and decided to step a little closer to the ghost portal. Unfortunately, one of the employees didn't know she was there when they active the portal to test it. It caught Jessie by surprise and before she even had a chance to get away from the portal, the portal testing failed as an exposed circuitry gave her a strong electric shock. She screamed in pain as she flew back away from the portal, the only thing she heard was her friends calling her name as she heard footsteps running towards her before she went unconscious.
She woke up in the hospital a day later and after her awakening, her parents and the school sue the GiW for being careless about a middle schooler getting injured and won the case, causing the GiW to pack up and leave Tulsa. After being clear to leave the hospital a few days later, Jessie discovered that she felt more energetic and as time went on, she discovered she began to have strange powers. They were limited at first which is why Jessie never put much thought into it, such as floating for a short time or making her limbs disappear.
But as she grew older, these powers began to get more prominent, and it was harder for her to keep them under control. Because of this, Jessie had to leave the wrestling club in fear she'll accidentally hurt someone and made up a half lie about wanting to focus more on her classes. Her family and friends noticed something was wrong with her, and Jessie finally admits the reason why. One of her best friends, Tatiana, did some research and found out Jessie had gotten ghost powers from the accident. She, Jessie's family and their gang all promised to Jessie that they wouldn’t tell anyone. With their help, Jessie decided to learn to control her powers, so she wouldn't be found out about them.
However, tragedy stuck in her life when her father became ill with stage 4 kidney cancer, he tried his best to fight back the cancer, but he ended up passing away peacefully in his sleep. It devastated Jessie and her family. What's worse, her mother announced they were moving to a different state due to her losing her job after the building she was working at was caught on fire and destroyed. Jessie didn't want to move away from the life she loves, especially because she doesn't want to leave her friends and all her animals will be sold.
Luckly, one of her aunts and uncles manages to get her mother a new job from the state they were moving to, and since they live in the outskirts of the town she's moving to, all the animals will be sent to live with them. Jessie told her gang about the news and while they are sad about her leaving, they all decided to hang out together and throw a party to spend time together one last time. The next day, Jessie says goodbye to her friends after they gave each other their phone numbers, and she left with her mother and sisters to their new home.
High School:
Jessie and her family soon arrived in a town called Amity Park, and Jessie was homesick, missing her best friends. Jessie spent the first few nights sulking in her new room, unable to get used to the urban atmosphere of her new home. By the time she starts attending high school, Casper High, she immediately caught everyone's attention due to how she was dressed and for her natural beauty. All the boys were smitten by her looks while all the girls were jealous of her, making Jessie feel very uncomfortable since she wasn't used to getting all the attention to herself.
Because of this, she was constantly picked on by the popular girls who were jealous of her for getting the attention and wanting her to feel insecure. Jessie, of course, taught by her old friends about some rules of the greasers with their own rules of their gang, decided to fight back until Sam Manson stood up for her. Jessie was extremely grateful for this, and was later introduced to Sam’s 2 best friends, Danny and Tucker. She was welcomed and fit right into the group with ease, and she was happy she finally made some friends. However, she soon found out that Danny’s parents were ghost hunters, she tried to avoid and stay away from his parents as far away as possible in fear they'll do something to her if they found out her secret.
At some point, Jessie was 100% comfortable around her three friends, although, she never told them her secret. It wasn't until Danny had a lab accident with his parents' ghost portal and gain his own ghost powers. Not too long after the accident, Jessie finally told her friends about her powers. Of course, they were shocked, but they all promise to it a secret and Danny and Jessie worked together to fight the baddies who came out of the now active Fenton Portal as Danny Phantom and Jessie Shadow, although she did manage to befriend some ghosts just for being herself. As time went on, Jessie began to realize that she has a crush on Danny, and it grew stronger as she spends more time with him, she wants to tell him how she feels, but was scared that she might ruin their friendship, so she never said anything. But she does show signs of jealousy when another girl flirts with him, but she tries her best to hide it.
Jessie then noticed Sam begins to have a crush on him too, she didn't want to fight with Sam and lose her friend over a boy, so they both agreed that they would let Danny decide. When Danny gave up his powers, Jessie was disappointed but supported his decision regardless. She caught Sam later rant at Danny about giving up his powers, Jessie hates the way Sam yelled at Danny and feel offended that Sam acts like Danny is the only half ghost that existed besides Vlad. So, when Sam came back inside, Jessie begins to yell at her for what she said to Danny and told her that she still has her ghost powers and was offending at what Sam said earlier, before leaves to go outside to comfort Danny.
In the South Pole, Jessie finds Sam alone with Danny and was surprised to see that Danny walked away from Sam and heading towards her. In the end, Danny fell for Jessie's kind and caring nature and how she was always there for him thick and thin, he didn't care that she has a level 8 autism or that she likes to dress up as a female greaser from the 1950's. He proved it to her by kissing her that day. Sam was a bit upset that Danny didn’t choose her yet felt happy for both of them.
After Danny and Jessie saved the Earth from the Disasteriod, everything became a paradise for her, she was surprised that Danny started to dress up like a male greaser since Jessie was starting to rub off on him, but she didn't mind. However, in her sophomore year, Jessie learned from a frustrated Sam who snapped at her of how jealous she was over her relationship with Danny after Sam got tired of hearing all the dates, she went on with Danny and how sweet he is with the gifts he got for her. Jessie became annoyed at this and questions Sam if she really does love Danny for who he is just like she does, or if she only loves him because of his powers, just like Paulina and the rest of the girls in town and school does.
This triggers Sam into fighting her, which was hauled by one of the teachers and led Sam being suspended since Jessie was avoiding her attacks thanks to her ghost powers. When Tucker saw this and told Danny what happened, he tells Sam that even though he doesn't appreciate her fighting Jessie over his relationship with her, Sam will always have a special place in his heart, and the two girls remain friends, as well as Sam finally moving on from her crush on Danny.
Collage Life:
Jessie and Danny continued to fight ghosts while spending time together on dates, although this became hard for them to go out in public due to their popularity. When they got to senior year, Jessie doesn't know what career she wants when she goes to college, so when she told Danny, Sam and Tucker about this, Danny suggested she should get a career as a singer since she loves to sing.
Jessie was a little hesitant at first but then remembers that she overcame her stage fright after the incident with Ember Mclain and knew she can't become a wrestler since she's not as interested in wrestling anymore as she used to, and fearing she'll accidentally hurt someone if her powers somehow lose control, she thinks that a singing career might be a better choice instead.
Especially seeing how Amity Park doesn't have many ghost attacks as of late and seeing her boyfriend and her friends being supportive, she agrees with the idea. So, after graduation, she told her family about what career she actually wants, they accepted her decision. She and her friends and boyfriend all went to the same college together and she chose classes that involves music, singing and dancing.
It was hard for her to hang out with her boyfriend and her friends, but she still manages to make some time to see them while focusing on her studies. To practice more on her singing, she decided to create a music channel and recorded covers of her favorite songs and posted them online and soon gained internet fame. By her second year, she did less covers and began writing and performing her own songs with the help of her friends and boyfriend.
She soon gains the attention of producers of different music companies, she became nervous as she didn't know what do to, but Danny encouraged her to choose the best one to help her, and so she did and was very excited although wanted to keep her schooling in check and worked on and off with the record company until the following summer, when she released her first single. Her popularity grew even more, her name becoming well known in the city. She held off performances until later in her fourth year. She worked on her first album through the year, finally releasing it and having a small tour during spring break.
Of course, she somehow still manages to make time to spend it with her family, her friends and of course, her boyfriend, Danny. She missed spending time with him as he missed her since she was busy with her singing career, and the ghost couple spend their days going on dates or just hanging out in their apartment, cuddling and watching movies or tv shows. There were even talks about them wanting to get married one day, and so, on the day of their college graduation, Danny proposes to her, to which she happily said yes.
Adult Life:
After college, Jessie returned to Amity Park with Danny, Sam and Tucker. Between songwriting and recording, the two planned out their wedding and got married a year later. Soon after, Jessie found out she was pregnant and brought their first-born son into the world, Danny Junior, or DJ for short. Juggling motherhood, fame, and integrating her spare time into the booming business of FentonWorks proved to be tough. She managed to keep her life in balance even if it were by mere threats at some moments. The battles eased up as Danny and his parents worked on ways to add extra security to the portal, even though it worked half the time.
Her fame grew more with time. She was cranking out a new album every year and went on tour during the summer months. Later, she gave birth to their second child, a daughter name Larissa. With managing two kids now, her singing career slowed down as she focused on being a full-time mom for a while. When the kids grew older and became more independent, she began to write and perform again, although not as much as before. With a lot of money stored in the bank at this point, Jessie managed to give herself and her family a comfortable life as she and Danny raised their two kids who both inherited their powers with love and support, but not spoiling them. They watched as their kids follow their footsteps of becoming heroes as DJ Phantom and Lari Shadow.
Appearance:
Jessie is a young Mexican American girl with fair skin, long brown hair and dark brown eyes. She has her hair tied up in a high ponytail with bangs. She also wears a natural smokey eyeshadow, black eyeliner, black mascara, and nude lipstick. She wears a white crop-top with a black leather jacket, a sterling silver decagem pendant long necklace, a timex women's easy reader black and silver leather strap wristwatch on her left wrist, light blue jean ripped pants with a black leather belt and a pair of brown leather cowboy boots embossed with red flames running up the sides and decorated with yellow shooting stars. When she becomes furious, her eyes sometimes flash solar orange even while in human form.
When she transforms into Jessie Shadow, her hair becomes platinum blonde and braided into a single messy braid, her eyes become glowing solar orange, her skin becomes tanned, and a faint white glow surrounds her whole body. In this form, her makeup changed, she doesn't have eyeshadow or eyeliner, but still wears black mascara and wears nude pink lipstick. She wears a black shirt and pants set that reveals her midriff with a grey collar, grey belt, and grey elbow high gloves, and grey boots that looks identical as the boots she wears in her human form, except they have no design on them. After "Memory Blank", she wears her logo, a swift gray "J" with an "S" next to it on her chest. Her voice becomes slightly but noticeably resonant as well.

Interesting Facts:
• Jessie got her nickname from her old gang when they decided to give her a nickname.
• It's rare for Jessie to let her hair down in both her human form and ghost form, mostly her human form. The only time she had her hair down was when she's at water parks or when she's wearing dresses, but other than that, she always has her hair up. She does finally let it down when she gets older though.
• Jessie's favorite colors are yellow, black and red. She likes pink, but it's not her favorite color.
• Her favorite flavors are bubblegum and blue raspberry.
• Jessie is considered to be the most popular girl in school for her beauty, and because of this, her beauty rivals Paulina's, making Paulina the second most popular. But Jessie still decides to hang out with Danny, Sam and Tucker instead of the popular kids.
○ Because of her natural beauty, all the boys in school flirted with her, and Jessie didn't like it and makes her uncomfortable, knowing they only liked her for her looks. The boy who flirts with her the most is Dash Baxter, and she hates him because he bullies everyone in school, including Danny and Tucker.
• Jessie love singing and dancing since she was a child. It also provides something she can do for fun or when she's bored. She never told anyone about her love for singing and dancing, so she kept them a secret until the events of "Fanning the Flame".
• Jessie grew up watching wrestling as long as she can remember with her father and because of this, she joined the wrestling club in middle school and became an athlete, her first career choice was to become a wrestler, but after she got her ghost powers, she decided to not be a wrestler anymore and changed her career choice to a singer, but she does appear in WWE as a guest.
○ However, she does use a little bit of her wrestling moves she learned from her old wrestling club in middle school during her ghost battles. Even some wrestling moves from some WWE wrestlers she watched growing up. Her favorite WWE wrestlers are Dean Ambrose, AJ Lee, Kaitlyn, Seth Rollins, and Daniel Bryan.
• Even though she has a ranch girl lifestyle, Jessie continues to live a greaser girl lifestyle because it's a way to keep her old gang in her heart, despite being miles apart from them.
• Her favorite types of music are classic, rock, pop, hip hop and of course, Mexican.
• Jessie absolutely loves horses due to growing up on a ranch her whole life. While growing up, she learns how to ride horses, with and without a saddle and reins. So even though her mother works at a music store in Amity Park, she and her sisters would visit and help out their uncle and aunt in their ranch outside of Amity Park and when she's done, she can ride horses again like she used to.
• Jessie likes to cook due to her mother teaching her.
• Jessie has a ghost Kiger Mustang and American Paint mix horse named Miracle, whom she managed to calm down, become friends with, and later on becomes her master.
• Jessie loves plants due to her mother keeping a few plants in their home. She also likes nature walks in the parks or outside of Amity Park, especially when she needs some time alone.
• Jessie is both a meat eater and a vegetarian.
• Jessie can speak Spanish, she used to speak Spanish a lot from a young age, but starting to speak more English as she grows up. She can still speak Spanish sometimes, just not as much as she used to when she was young. She can also mash up Spanglish.
• Jessie is born with Autism. The level of her disability is 8, which allows her to read and write just fine, but due to her inability to speak to people by herself, she still requires special help and education from the schools she attends, including Casper High. The only ones who knew about her disability are her family and her old gang. Danny, Sam and Tucker learn about her disability later on after befriending her and before Danny got his powers, so they speak up and talk for her when they see she was having a hard time talking to people by herself from time to time.

Danny, round 2 friends, reseting the world to fix your mistakes Series: Part 2 of Monstrous Mundane Magick Summary:
Ghosts are a part of life that none of them can get rid of, apparently, so now they just have to figure out how to manage them. Join the ghostly Trio as they deal with bad wishes, fight a demon (because of course ghosts aren't all there is) and even deal with a dragon or two! Will they catch any semblance of a break, or will the horrors of the supernatural break them?
Green mist, the crackle of the Specter Deflector mk1 resisting the energy in that mist, and then darkness.  That was about what Tucker could remember of the fight if you could even call it that.  After what felt like forever, he opened his eyes to find he was in his room.  Sitting up with a groan, Tucker rubbed his head and took stock of the situation, just like a badass in a movie.  “Still in all my clothes from the fight, Sydney isn’t here, Danny and Sam also aren’t here, room’s a mess as usual…”  Grabbing his phone, Tucker checked for any panicked texts and saw none.  It was just Friday again, Friday morning even.  “Alright, so maybe cotton candy wasn’t her power.  Ugh, whatever she did it clearly had no effect on me, so that means the Fentons at least know how to make a good protective belt.”  Swinging his feet over the edge of the bed Tucker tapped the Specter Deflectorand paused.  “Oh, wait, will whatever she did affect me if I take off the belt?”
Deciding he didn’t want to find out, Tucker climbed out of bed, brushed his teeth, changed most of his clothes, and checked more of his room.  To his dismay, he found that Hunter’s mech was not, in fact, here in his room anymore.  “Where the heck could that’ve gone?  Mom and Dad didn’t move it last time it was this morning.”  He paused, scratching his head.  “Did they?  Ugh, ok, that’s something to worry about later.  If I ask they’ll just get upset that I lost track of it ‘because it’s dangerous’ or whatever.”
Heading downstairs to find his parents in the living room, Dad watching football and Mom knitting something, Tucker called out his usual good mornings and headed into the kitchen for some much-needed bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns.  Headphones in, the latest Dumpty Humpty songs on, and the smell of food filling the kitchen, Tucker almost didn’t notice the oddness of getting practically no messages from Danny or Sam the whole morning.  By now Sam should’ve been complaining about being sick, at the very least.
When he finished up his food, Tucker headed out the door, calling out to his parents, “Gonna go visit Danny, see ya later!”  And before they could respond, he was out the door and putting on his helmet.  The AI he’d rigged together pointed him toward his board, which he was more than grateful to still have even if Hunter’s suit would be useful, and soon he was in the air.  Still, even with no air traffic since the boards weren’t exactly for sale - yet, he needed to talk with Danny about that - he stopped before texting Danny.  He couldn’t just phase through a building instead of crashing because he wasn’t looking where he was going after all.
Hey Danny, where should we meet up?  I’m omw to tell you something wild.
He guessed, of course, that Danny was at home, so he took off for FentonWorks.  Music blaring in his ears, the wind tugging at his body as he did a loop, Tucker considered whether or not he should see if a random girl at the park would find his board cooler than the girls at school.  His phone buzzed in his pocket and he blinked a few times, lifting up his helmet to make sure he was reading this right.
Astroboy: I’m at my uncle’s place, u know that.
“Alright, the ghost did more than just chuck me back to this morning, apparently.  Why would she put Danny at Wes’ place?”  Tucker readjusted his helmet and sped off, going a bit faster than before.  He took a moment to take in everything below him, seeing no signs of the fight with Hunter that took place outside the library as he passed it.  “There should be something there though… the plasma and the lasers melted holes into the walls and street.”
When Tucker reached the Weston home, he was almost certain of what had happened.  The ghost had been some sort of wish granter, like a genie, and she’d heard him wish that Danny hadn’t gone into the portal.  That explained the lack of Hunter’s marks on the town, without Danny being half-ghost the poacher had no reason to go after him.  Maybe Danny just grew closer to Wes without the ghost stuff in the way?  Regardless, Tucker went through the awkwardness of greeting Mr. Weston when he answered the door, “Hi there, I’m Tucker Foley.  I’m not sure if you remember me but I’m Danny’s friend and he said he was here.”
“Ah yes, Tucker,” the ginger said, taking him in and clearly searching for a memory.  “The one he made the hoverboards and the rockets with, right?”
“Yup!  That’s me.  May I come in?”
“Of course, sure.  Shoes at the door and all that.”  Tucker kicked off his shoes and Mr. Weston pointed him upstairs.
When Tucker finally found Danny, his good mood at the fact that his best friend didn’t have to worry about fighting ghosts or questioning who and what he was anymore dropped like a lead ball.  It looked like a half-assed recreation of Danny’s actual room, desk and posters, and even his Horrorstation all together in one room.  It didn’t have the murals of the stars on the ceiling or the walls like in Danny’s real room, but it looked too personalized to be a guest room.  Danny looked up from his handheld and waved at him, looking for all the world like something was crushing him.  “Hey, Tuck. What’s up?”
“More than I wanted to be, it looks like,” he muttered.  Taking a seat on the bed next to Danny - and it was his bed, the exact same mattress - Tucker took a deep breath and let it out slowly.  “How do I ask this?”  His eyes swept over the room, marking where things should be but weren’t, until he landed on Danny again, looking concerned and tense and just as thin as he was before.  He wasn’t as pale as he’d been growing but he was still paler than Tucker thought was healthy.  “Right, ok.  Rip off the bandaid I guess.  Say a ghost has, for whatever reason, messed with my memories so that I remember things a whole lot different than they are now.”  Danny scowled at the mention of ghosts, the same way Dr. Fenton did.  He wasn’t sure how to feel about that.  “What’s happened since August?”
Danny sighed, leaning back on his hands and glaring at the ceiling.  “Ghosts.  Ghosts have fucking happened since August.  Of course, they had to mess with you too, they already messed up everything else.”  Danny looked at him again, trying to judge how much of Tucker was the Tucker he knew probably, and Tuck was doing the same.  He’d never heard Danny refer to ghosts as a whole with such venom and ice in his voice.  It wasn’t right.  “After you convinced me how stupid it would be to actually go inside the Ghost Portal, Mom and Dad figured out what was wrong with it - an extra switch inside that would’ve had to be pressed to activate it - and after they fixed it, it worked.  Jazz had a fucking fit when she realized she was wrong about Mom and Dad being delusional for believing in ghosts.”  Danny looked down, fidgeting with the hem of his shirt.  “I wish she was right.
“At first it seemed like the portal was working the same way all the other portals worked: a window into another world for Mom and Dad to look through and examine what was happening on the other side.  But then something actually came out of the thing.”  Danny shuddered and Tucker threw an arm around him.  “I remember seeing the ectopus thing for the first time.  It was so... wrong.  Like a messed up hologram that made my eyes hurt to look at it.  We all had weapons, thank the stars, but it took a while to get that thing back into the portal.”
“Ok, so it was a door and they didn’t want one of those yet, so they tried unplugging it,” Tucker said when Danny went quiet.  He remembered this conversation when Hunter came up.  “But it didn’t work that way.  Self-sustaining or something, right?”
“A self-sustaining interdimensional intersection that was apparently powered on the other side as much as it was on ours.  Stars, Tuck, the freakin Lunch Lady from the 50s came through - or rose up in the cafeteria kitchen, I guess.  Either way, when Sam had her menu change thing done and we started a food fight with Dash over it, the ghost lady set the kitchen and cafeteria on fire because we were making a mess of her cafeteria.”  Danny scoffed and Tucker winced.  “Mom and Dad to the rescue with the Fenton Foamers, since regular extinguishers and stuff wasn’t working.  That one got them attention,” he muttered.  “The whole town suddenly had their eyes on us, so Mom and Dad did a press conference and then the whole world was paying attention.  And then things went wrong.”
“Went wrong, how?”  He almost didn’t want to know the answer but at the same time, he knew that he should know what happened because of his wish.  This was his fault, and he needed to know what.
Danny curled up in a ball under his arm, and his breaths grew a bit shallower.  Tucker was certain he wasn’t going to say anything but a moment later, Danny opened his mouth and forced out the words like they stung his mouth to say.  “This giant fucking ghost hornet killed Jazz while I was in the counselor’s office and talking with Ms. Spectra about how the media circus was affecting my home life.”  He leaned against Tucker, face streaked with tears and chest heaving.  “Jazz fucking died of a giant hornet sting and I was talking to a counselor.  One who fucking ratted my parents out called them neglectful and said they were endangering us at home and CPS shoved me into uncle Walter’s house.”
Tucker knew what being punched in the face felt like, Dash had made sure of it.  Now, however, it felt a thousand times worse.  Like someone had taken a hot poker right out of a fireplace and shoved it into his chest.  “Oh my god.”
Tumblr media
Tucker stayed with Danny as long as Mr. Weston would tolerate, getting the fact that the Mansons were moving out because of the danger in Amity out of him before they played some videogames to get all of this off of their minds.  It didn’t, of course, because nothing could get this off of Tucker’s mind, but he had to at least try to get some normalcy out of this for Danny.  He got curb stomped by a HellKnight and Danny took on being the Doom Slayer while Tuck stewed.
How the hell am I gonna fix this?  That one thought bounced around in his head, the only thing besides static, and for what felt like forever, it didn’t go anywhere.  Then he checked the news app on his phone for once in his life and saw that cotton candy had flooded the swap meet.  I’ll fix it how I messed it up.  I just need to find that ghost.
When Wes knocked on the door and told Danny it was time for dinner and heavily implied that Tucker should probably leave, he got up and squeezed Danny in a hug.  He got squeezed right back, and it was weird how quickly he’d gotten used to the hum of energy under Danny’s skin that he couldn’t feel anymore.  How odd it was to think this should hurt a bit more just because your friend was hugging you as hard as he could, but without superstrength.
On the flyby heading home, Tucker made a detour to the swap meet and started looking, though he wasn’t entirely certain what he was looking for.  “Something Alladin-esque, I guess,” he muttered under his breath.  Reaching into his jacket pocket thankfully produced the ecto signature tracker he was hoping for, and he followed it to several shards in front of a stand near the center of the cotton candy flood.  That was good, at least.  The woman putting things away gave Tucker a swell of hope, even if he felt she was probably wearing too much pink.  Hopping off the board and removing his helmet he cleared his throat.
“Are you Madam Babazita?”
She stood, turning around to raise a brow at him.  Pointing above at the sign that said Madam Babazita's Mystical Oddities.  “Who else would I be, kid.  Are you here to help with the cotton candy clean up?”
“Actually, I was here to ask about the uh genie that got released around here.”  The Babazita turned her full attention to him, and Tucker flinched.  There was a sharpness in her eyes and something… off.  He didn’t want to make her mad.
“Oh really?  You’re here about the djinni?”  She looked him up and down and spread her arms out.  “I didn’t see you here when her lamp broke.”
“Well, not this version of this morning, no.”  He chuckled and cleared his throat again.  “I jumped the gun and made a wish without realizing that she could grant them.  The only reason I remember all of this, apparently, is because of this.”  He raised his shirt to show off the Specter Deflector™.  “It blocks out ghostly energy.  Is there anything you can tell me about this genie ghost thing that would help me to fix the mess I made?”
Madam Babazita stared at Tucker for several long moments, her beakish nose raised high and her eyes sharp as a hawk’s.  After another beat of silence, he opened his mouth to plead a better case than ‘I made a mess and need your help to fix it’ when she held up a hand.  “Alright, kid.  You look like whatever you did, you regret enough to keep bothering me about it.  I’ll tell you about that djinni, but if you get hurt fighting her that’s your fault, not mine.”
“Got it.”  She frowned at him and Tucker winced.  “I understand, madam.”
Learning of Desiree’s life was a sad story to hear, but finding out that she was compelled to grant any wish she heard was a lifesaver.  Sure, it sounded rough having to fulfill everyone else’s desires and not your own, but Tucker needed that kind of guarantee that he could get what he needed so long as he asked for it correctly.   Unfortunately, that would have to wait. The sun was going down, and his parents probably didn’t want him out late with ghosts on the loose.
Tumblr media
There were things Tucker could get away with, such as staying out particularly later than he should, ignoring all the vegetables on his plate and generally being less engaged in dinner discussion because his parents weren’t the parents he knew.  Not exactly, anyway.  A few months could really change someone.  One thing he could not get away with, however, was taking a shower in Angela Foley’s household.  So, he took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and took off the Specter Deflector™.  Nothing happened.  Opening his eyes, Tucker found nothing had changed. He could remember everything from how it was supposed to be and he didn’t get any new memories aligning with what Danny had told him.  “That’s one mystery solved,” he muttered. That done he got rid of the rest and cleaned, trying to devise a plan.
When he woke up the next morning he had a plan.  It was a relatively simple one.  “Find Desiree, unwish my wish, and the world is fixed.”  He put the belt back on with his new outfit of leather pants, a green sweater and a leather jacket he’d found sitting in his closet.  “If she can change reality this much then who knows what else she can do?  She probably remembers me shooting at her.”
Even with the wildness of a ghost messing around with people’s desires and a huge, overly public case regarding the town crazies who discovered the afterlife - a thing that Tucker was going to file under ‘think about in more depth later’ - life still went on.  There were movies to attend, and people still went to them. This was not the place where Tucker expected to be dealing with a ghost of any sort.  And yet, here the tracker pointed him, leading to Paulina… chibified. “I know chibis are supposed to be cute, and on-screen they are, but this?  This is horrifying, and I don’t like it.  I dunno how anyone else thinks this is cute.”  Everyone in the theater was going nuts over Paulina, who steadily grew into a seven-foot-tall chibi version of herself.  “Oh wow, the weebs are feeding her power or whatever.  That’s just great.”
Riffling through his jacket pocket, Tucker felt the handles for familiar weapons - an ecto-pistol, a tube of lipstick that also shot lasers, the wrist ray he should have on and was now putting on- but none of those guaranteed he’d be able to get the ghost energy out of Paulina.  Was this a good idea to act on?  “Only one way to find out…”  Aim, charge, fire.  A beam of green struck chibilina in the forehead, dead on, and her supernatural form rippled with a green light.  Everyone turned to Tucker, who sucked in a sharp breath, ran for his board, and flew away.
“Ok, I don’t have a weapon on me that can push the ghostly energy out of someone,” he muttered, hoping and praying that Paulina couldn’t also fly.  “Good to know. Ugh, where would I find a wish obsessed djinni?”  He looked down below him, and up above him even, hoping he’d spot any kind of clue as toa car flew within an inch of Tucker’s face and it’s tailwind dragged him into a spin.
Once he corrected himself in the air and almost caught all of his breath back, Tucker focused on the car zooming around through the air with green energy pulsing through it.  “I know we were talking about making flying cars happen, but not like this.”  He flew off and after the car, having to push the engine of his board to keep up, and knocked on the driver’s side window.  “Uh, hello, this is technically speeding, I do believe.”
“DUUUUDE WHAT THE HELL!?”  The blond surfer stereotype screamed, bringing Tucker to question his style and location.  There were no beaches in Minnesota.
“Roll down the window!”  Tucker pointed at the button, which the guy thankfully hit, and Tucker reached in to grab the wheel and steer the man away from the city.  “Alright, so I don’t know how to drive exactly but I’m pretty sure there should be some brakes down there.”  No sooner did he say that than the car stopped.  It stopped dead in the air, and gravity took hold - a thing it did at inconvenient times. Thankfully, Tuck didn’t have to scream for the man to hit the gas again since this sudden a drop kept him from being able to catch the air needed for screaming.  When they started moving forward and up again, Tucker clung to the car door and wheezed in his helmet, shaking his head.  “Find. Empty.  Parking spot.  Think about going down.  Slowly.”
“Oh what, just fuckin think about it going down smoothly and it’ll go down?”  Tucker, who was on his hoverboard of all things, was being glared at.  By some surfing wanna be.  He had no time for this kind of bullshit.
“DID YOU WISH FOR IT TO START FLYING AND IT FLEW?!”  the guy flinched and nodded, face screwing up with concentration as he steered the car.  Tucker felt free to let go as the vehicle descended toward an empty-ish parking lot and began to slow down.  When the car landed and Tucker hovered only a foot off the ground, the man practically kicked his door open and wrapped Tucker in a hug.  “Whoa!  Ok, ok this is happening.”
“Thank you!  Fuck, man, thank you so much!  I almost died, flying around in a car!”
“Yeah, I’m looking to find the person who did this so I can stop her.”  Tucker gently pushed the man away and started floating up higher, his visor flashing with a status update on his board.  It might need maintenance after pulling speeds like that.  “You just do your thing, probably avoid using this car for a while.  Buh bye.” That said, he sped off into the sky.
Tumblr media
“You’re serious?”
“Would I be telling you this if I wasn’t 100% serious, Sam?”  Tucker groaned, sitting on his board on the roof of the school.  It was the only place he could think of that’d be abandoned on a Saturday.  “I know how to be serious, you know!”
“I dunno,” Sam drawled, “you can be pretty insensitive.”
“Enough to joke about messing up everyone’s lives with a wish?”  Tucker glared at his phone.  “Sam, Jazz is dead in this timeline!  I wouldn’t joke about being the cause of that!”
The line was silent for a long moment, and he checked to make sure he hadn’t been hung up on.  Finally, Sam sighed the crackle of it in the receiver matching the static in his head when he learned about that little tidbit.  “Fine. Ok, let’s pretend I believe you. Why do you want my help instead of Danny’s?”
“Pardon?”
“Danny’s the one with access codes to all the weapons his folks have for fighting ghosts, not me.  Why are you telling me this instead of Danny?”
“First of all, I have the weapons I need to fight her if it comes to that, which gods I hope it doesn’t.”  With all the chaos she was causing, Tucker didn’t want to get into an actual fight with Desiree.  He had a feeling Danny wouldn’t have won that fight with his powers either.  “Second of all: gee Sam, I wonder why I didn’t tell Danny that I essentially got his sister killed with a hasty wish?”  The line was silent, and Tucker took a few deep breaths.  “I’m sorry, if I sound harsh or anything I just.  You’re the one who comes up with most of our winning ideas, and I don’t wanna hurt Danny any more than I already have.  All I need to do is find Desiree and make a wish.  Any ideas on where she might be?”
“Well, she might be at a place where people typically go to make wishes.  Everyone has a desire to ask for pretty much all day but a wishing well or fountain or something would probably do the trick.”  There was a loud clacking of keys and Tucker winced.
“You need to ease up on that poor keyboard.”
“It’ll be fine.  There’s a wishing fountain around the middle of Magnus park.  Heck, toss a coin in and make a wish of your own, that might get her attention.”
Why hadn’t he thought of that?  “Thanks, Sam, you’re the best.”
“You know I am.  And Tucker?  Be safe, or as safe as you can be.”
“Safe as anyone can be going after a djinni, yeah.  I will be.”  Tucker nodded and hung up, slipping on his helmet.  Putting in the directions for the Magnus park fountain through his PDA, Tucker took off into the sky and hoped that things went even a bit ok.
Tumblr media
Finding Walter Weston as he wished for a million bucks and peridot green mist swirled around him like a caress as a familiar voice spoke was not what Tucker would call ok.  Still, he took the opportunity to stop another stupid wish from getting twisted - a million bucks could be quite a few deer or even just that much money crushing him under its weight.  Slowing down enough to not break anything, Tucker swerved, yanking Mr. Weston up out of the smoke, and dropped him off a few meters away.  Looking up, Tucker saw an infuriated Desiree glaring down at him and shouting in a language he didn’t understand.
That was fine though.  He didn’t need to understand her just yet.  She understood wishes in English just fine, clearly.  “I wish that I hadn’t interrupted your conversation with Danny!”  The djinni stared at him, eyes bright red with obvious fury, but her hands glimmer pink and green, and the mist wrapped around him again.
“So you have wished it, so shall it be!”

Parental Bonding: Courtship
S01-E02, part 1 of 2: Danny figures out a new power, gets a date, and lands himself in trouble. Not in that order.
Last time on Living Phantom ~ Next time on Living Phantom
Warning: Implied/Referenced Sibling Abuse (Not onscreen, skip to the bottom for a full description)
Danny came down the stairs, ready to send the annoying Box Ghost back where he came from then spend the next few hours trying to block out what happened at lunch with some mindless video game violence. He paused when he spotted his dad sitting in front of the portal with a fishing rod in hand. He was wearing his fishing vest and had a soda guzzler attached to his fishing hat, sucking at the straw as he watched the swirling green mists.
The half-ghost frowned and tossed his backpack off to the side. “Hey, Dad. What are you doing?”
“Danny, keep it down. You'll scare away the ghosts,” he whispered. He pointed at the rod and Danny realized the line was glowing. “It's the Fenton Ghost Fisher. I'm fishing for ghosts. Check out this line. Coated with a special high-tensile ectoplasmic resin that ghosts can't break.” He focused back on the portal. “Quiet now. Don't wanna spook 'em.”
Danny nodded and turned to leave. He’d have to get rid of Boxy later.
“Whoa! That soda goes right through you like Sherman through Georgia.” His dad suddenly grabbed his shoulder and shoved the rod into his hands. “Here! Hang on to this. I'll be right back after I use the Fenton Urinal.”
Did not need to know that, Danny sighed. Well, at least now he could -
The line started pulling and he scrambled for the reel. The line went taut, then slack.
“Oh no,” he muttered, his breath misting in front of him.
A large claw emerged from the portal, then another. They hooked around the edge as a reptilian snout poked through. It seemed to squeeze through the too-small space as it lengthened and grew into the head of a dragon, electric blue with neon green ear fins and curled horns. It kept coming. First, a barrel chest and wings that didn’t look big enough to carry its weight -- though Danny was pretty sure a ghost dragon didn’t actually need wings to fly -- then forelegs, hind legs, and finally a whip-like tail.
It’s red eyes glared down at him, the end of the fisher caught in its mouth.
Danny flinched back, then his eyes caught on a glimpse of green in the corner of his eye. He looked down and frowned when he realized the dragon’s scales were littered with glowing soot and quite a few claw marks cut into its flesh, dripping ectoplasm that fizzled into nothing before it hit the floor.
“Woah, what attacked you?”
The dragon roared and Danny scrambled back. “I want to go!” it growled, grabbing him in its foreclaw. “I have to go!”
“You'll have to stand in line behind my dad,” Danny joked, then immediately wondered if ghosts could use the bathroom.
Did full ghosts need to eat? Would they eat normal food or ectoplasmic stuff? Would ghost food be closer to his parents' cooking? Did ghosts accidentally bring their  food to life?
No, focus, Danny! “In the meantime…”
He let his transformation wash over him, then let go of his density, becoming a cloud of ectoplasm that slipped through its grip. It tried to claw at him and he dodged around the hits, then pulled back when it started to breathe fire. He arced around the spray then landed a hit to its neck, right on the golden band of the necklace it wore.
It gave a pained roar as it flew back and hit the wall.
Danny flew closer, ready to shove it back into the portal, but it suddenly began to shimmer. It shrunk until it took the form of a young woman. She looked to be in much better health than her dragon form, though there was a darker patch on her green cheek that might have been a burn. The ghost looked up at him with tears in her eyes. “All I wanted was to go to the Princess Costume Ball. And my brother won't let me!”
She started crying and flew into the portal.
Frowning, Danny dropped to the ground and grabbed the fisher. “I hope her brother wasn’t the one that did that to her.”
Footsteps sounded on the stairs and Danny quickly changed back.
His dad came down, new soda cans in hand. “Catch anything?”
“Nope,” he lied and passed his dad the fisher. “I’m going to drop my backpack off in my room then I’m meeting Tucker online for a boss battle.”
“Homework?”
“None today.”
“Alright. Don’t forget, it’s your night for dinner. Jazz has that Debate meeting and your mom won’t be back until Friday.”
“I know. Pizza’s in the oven and timer’s set.”
“Good boy.”

“Thanks to you, I now know the quickest way to a woman's heart: clean boxers,” Tucker joked as he shut his locker.
Danny glared at him then dropped his head. “Man, are you ever going to let that go. I get it, I blew it yesterday.”
Danny sent Sam a scared look, then walked up to the tree Paulina Sanchez was sitting in front of. He tried to lean against the tree and give his crush a smile like the guys on Tucker’s teen dramas, but his hand turned intangible and he ended up falling to the ground.
“Please! Don't say you've suddenly fallen for me,” the popular girl said in a bored voice, not even looking at him. “That line is so last semester.”
Danny blushed and stood up. “Yeah! I-I mean, no! Th-that's not it. I, uh, I was wondering…”
Suddenly his legs felt cold and the people around them started laughing. His blush grew as he looked down to realize his jeans had fallen to the ground. He scrambled to pick them up as Paulina finally looked at him, only to giggle into her hand.
At least it was boxer day, the last thing he needed was to accidentally be outed by his stupid powers on top of everything else.
“A gentleman usually tips his hat, but I'll give you points for originality,” Paulina said.
Suddenly Sam was at his side, her hand on his arm. “Kudos, Danny. You just set an all-time speed record for drowning in the shallow end of the gene pool.”
Paulina stared at her for a moment, then scowled. “Oh, no! You did not just call me shallow, did you?”
“If you mean do I think I can stand in a puddle full of you and not get my feet wet, then yeah.”
“Shallow? I am not shallow!”
Sam tugged him away from the girl, muttering, “As shallow as a drop of water. Ignore her, Danny. You can do so much better.”
Danny glanced over his shoulder to see the popular glaring at them.
“Paulina probably won't even look at me now.”
“Yoo-hoo, Danny!” Danny turned to see the girl they were discussing walking towards them, a flirty smile on her face.
“Or not! Hey, Tuck?”
“I get it. I'm out. Good luck.” He gave Danny a pat on the back then he was gone.
“Hi, you,” she giggled. “I just wanted to -”
Danny’s world went dark and cramped as he was suddenly shoved into his locker, which closed behind him.
“That’s for throwing your lunch on me last week, runt.”
“It was your lunch and it was an accident,” Danny growled.
“Oh hey, Paulina. Just the girl I was looking for.”
Danny glared at the wall of his locker then turned invisible and intangible. He leaned out of the locker to see Dash smirking down at Paulina, who didn’t look impressed.
“So I was thinking… I’m the top man. All-star quarterback and school hero.”
Danny reached towards the larger boy, ready to pull some ghostly prank, only for his hands to sink through Dash. His eyes widened as he felt his powers draw him in.
“You’re the prettiest girl in school.”
He felt himself shrink infinitesimally small, then expand like a balloon to fit a space that wasn’t quite right.
“It would only make sense if we -”
Danny blinked as he found himself in front of Paulina. He looked down at himself to see he was wearing a letterman's jacket and his arms were bulging with muscles. His eyes widened as he realized he was in Dash’s body.
Wow, a whole new kind of dysphoria.
Thanks, I hate it.
“Hello?” Paulina said, waving her hand in front of his face.
“Oh! Right! Of course!”
Paulina raised an eyebrow.
“I just wanted to tell you that I’m not going to be at the Spring Formal because I’ve got to scrub my mom’s feet that night. I usually do it every night, but she’s going to need some extra time that night. She’s got these massive bunions, you know. Want to see?”
“Eew! Get lost, loser!”
Danny turned and took a few steps, then pulled back his power. Thankfully he dropped out of Dash as he’d hoped and he was able to slip back into his locker just before Paulina opened it to let him out.
“Why do I suddenly feel like scrubbing my mom's feet?” he heard Dash mutter as Danny smiled at the girl.
He tried to step out of his locker, only to fall on his face.
He waited for Paulina to start laughing at him, but instead, she knelt next to him and winked.
“We have to stop meeting like this.” Her eyes widened and she grabbed something that was hanging out of his backpack. “Oh my gosh! What's that?”
Danny sat up and saw she was holding a necklace. It was gold with a short, almost choker-length band and held a smooth green gem that had a dark band down the center. It looked vaguely familiar, but Danny couldn’t place it. “That? Oh! Uh, it's a, uh…” He looked up at her face to see her staring at the necklace, entranced. “You like it?”
“It's beautiful!”
“Hey, that's great!” As they stood up, Danny had a very bad idea. “Because I, uh, got it for you.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. I-I-In case I got the nerve to ask you to the Spring Formal and you said yes, I thought I'd want to give you something and that's what it would have been. It's for you.”
Danny felt his powers activate and grabbed his pants before they could slip down more than an inch.
“Whether you go with me or not.”
Paulina eyed him with a teasing smile. “Well, you are kind of cute, and you have great taste in underwear. I'd love to go with you.”
She turned away, slipping on the necklace.
He gave a happy sigh, then frowned. “What am I doing? That thing doesn't belong to me. It could be my mom's, or Jazz's.”
“Bye, Danny. See you!”
“Or I could worry about that later. Because she said yes! Woohoo!” He threw his hands up, remembering his pants a second too late.
“Pantless again, Mr. Fenton?” Mr. Lancer asked, walking up behind him.
~~~~~~~~~~B~~~~~0~~~~~0~~~~~~~~~~
“Catch anything, Dad?” Danny asked as he shuffled up behind where his dad was once more in his fishing chair, Fenton Ghost Fisher in hand.
“Son, I couldn't catch a cold. I've been sitting here all day without a single bite.”
Danny hummed and looked down at the slip Lancer had given him. Apparently having your pants accidentally fall down twice was an offense worthy of having your parents called in so now his dad needed to meet with Mr. Lancer in an hour. Well, at least there was only one parent home to get mad.
He took a deep and held up the slip. “Da-”
“I'm so frustrated I want to take out my rage on the first person who gives me bad news.” His dad adjusted his line with a growl. “Anyway, you wanted to tell me something?”
Danny flinched. “Well, sort of. Mr. Lancer -”
His dad stiffened. “Mr. Lancer what? Is this bad news?”
“Mr. Lancer -” An idea hit him and he smirked. He turned intangible and dove into his dad. “- wants to have a word with us!”
The Amulets of Aragon
The Amulets come from a Spanish tale about a noble family residing within the medieval Kingdom of Aragon who attempted to usurp the King. Wanting the crown for himself, the lord asked his sister to use witchcraft to create two amulets that would allow them to transform themselves into powerful dragons. The king learned what was to happen and had his knights storm the lord’s manor. The knights captured the lord and lady before the amulets could be completed and the two were burned as witches.
The King’s victory was short-lived, however, as the two nobels returned as vengeful spirits. What they failed in life, they accomplished in death as upon their necks were the amulets the brother had longed for. Together the spirits burned the king’s castle to the ground in a storm of blue and green flames.
The legend goes on to say that any who stole the amulets from the lord or lady could gain their power, but they would have no control over it. They would be captives to their distress or anger and lash out blindly.
“Are you sure this is what we’re looking for?” Tucker asked, looking over the webpage. “Just sounds like some fairytale.”
“No, I think she’s onto something, look at the pictures,” Danny said and Tucker opened the gallery.
The first few pictures were medieval art of similar-looking black and purple dragons; though none seemed to be able to agree if it had bat or bird-like wings, scales or feathers, two or four legs, and ears or horns. Those were followed by more dragons, these blue and green. These were just as mismatched, but even then…
“Okay, the blue one kind of looks like your ghost dragon.”
“And Danny said the ghost looked medieval and mentioned her brother right?” Sam pointed out.
“Huh, that's the amulet I gave to Paulina. It must have accidentally fallen into my backpack. Wait. You mean… I'm going on a date with a dragon?” Danny gasped.
Tucker scrolled down to see pictures of the amulets. The stone settings looked the same, though one was on a long chain while the other had a collar band. The latter looked just like the necklace Paulina had been wearing the past two days.
Sam gave a snort. “Like I said, looks are deceiving. I'm sure you two will have a wonderful evening at the dance.”
“Thanks,” Danny deadpanned.
Suddenly Danny sent him a text.
Tucker gave his friend a confused look, but opened it.
👻Boo Boy: She really wants to go to the dance
Me: But she says she doesn’t want to
👻Boo Boy: Were her best friends
“What are you going to do to stop her?” Sam asked.
👻Boo Boy: We should have known
Me: Well there’s nothing we can do about it now right
“There’s no way you can just ask for the necklace back,” Tucker said, “not without a good reason.”
Me: Right
Me: Danny
When Danny didn’t reply, Tucker looked up at the video chat.
Danny was giving him a smirk.
Me: No way forget it ABSOLUTELY NOT NO
“Maybe I can say it’s a family heirloom?” Danny suggested.
👻Boo Boy: Tuck
Me: I just found out Kwan bailed on Valerie
Me: VALERIE
Me: She’s like a luster adjacent
“But then why would you have given it away?" Sam said.
Me: If I act fast I can catch her on the rebound
👻Boo Boy: Come on Tuck
Me: You come on
Me: Why don’t you just take her
“I don’t know! Ugh!” Danny groaned.
👻Boo Boy: What part of “going on a date with a dragon” didn’t you get? Paulinas likely to scorch the town if I bail on her
Me: Plus it’s Paulina
👻Boo Boy: I mean yeah that too but that’s not what’s important right now
Me: Uh huh 🤔
👻Boo Boy: I’m serious Tuck
👻Boo Boy: Do it for Sam
Tucker tried to give Danny an annoyed look, only to find his friend giving him puppy eyes.
Abort! Abort! He tried to look away, but it was too late.
Me: This is so unfair!!!!!!!
Danny smiled quickly then glanced over his shoulder. “Oh, I think I hear Jazz calling me. We can talk more later. See you guys!”
And he was gone.
“Well bye,” Sam said, rolling her eyes. “I should probably go too.”
“Wait, Sam,” he called before she could end the call. He glanced down at his phone, Valerie’s twitter still open on the app’s tab, and sighed. “I was wondering since neither of us have dates, do you want to go as friends? It’d be better than just sitting around at home. Plus, we can make fun of Danny and his dragon date.”
Sam frowned and glanced to the side. “Uh, I don't know. This is so last minute. And I do have plans, and -”
Tucker perked up. “If you don’t want to -”
“Okay, but only because you couldn’t get a date. Might as well put that lame dress my parents bought me to use. Tell Danny I’ll take care of transportation for us four. I need to make some appointments. See you tomorrow!” Sam said quickly before she ended the call.
Tucker blinked then slumped back with a groan. He closed Twitter and texted Danny.
Me: Sam’s parents are driving us to the dance
~~~~~~~~~~B~~~~~0~~~~~0~~~~~~~~~~
I had fun with the trio's chat names and Danny's contact. I'm still unsure about Sam's chat name, but the next best idea I had was AsexuWhale and a pun like that didn't feel right for her.
Warning Description: Dora is described as being beaten up and it’s hinted that her brother was the one who did it. It's rather minor, but I felt it necessary to list just in case.

Dick gets a call from Jason:
"Hey Dickie, so, there are 6 kids staying at my house now and they're arguing over what to have for dinner. 2 of them want mac&cheese, 2 of them want spaghetti, 1 of them want steak, which I don't think the youngest has enough teeth for, and the youngest can't talk yet. I either need a tiebreaker, someone to keep an eye on the kids in case something happens while I have all my attention on cooking, or both. Would you like to come over for dinner? You can bring Kori and Mar'i as long as you let me know they're coming too so I know how much food to make."
(The 6 kids in question are Jazz, Danny, Ellie, Sam, Tucker, and Paulina. Danny, Sam, Tucker, and Paulina are like 4 or 5, Jazz is 6 or 7-ish, and Ellie is like a year or 2 old. Yes, Paulina is half Dragon. Jason found a group of scared kids who clearly aren't from Gotham in crime alley and 1 of them had a scabbed-over vivisection wound slowly turning into a scar. He couldn't just leave them.)

DP/DC Prompt:
Jaime Reyes was not expecting a call from his cousin Paulina, nor was he expecting said call to reveal something so big, but here he is, having just found out that his cousin's dance partner, with ghost hunter parents, is half ghost and apparently isn't legally considered a person because of that?! And Paulina herself is apparently half dragon now because of a magic necklace that she had for all of maybe 2 weeks. Apparently neither of them are safe in their home town of Amity Park, Illinois anymore because most of the adults there are anti-ghost and many of them are also against metas, specifically humans who have been altered in some way. Jaime is seeing red when he finds out that the Fentons vivisected their own child! And that's somehow legal because of something called the Anti-Ecto-Acts!
(I don't know a lot about Jaime, but my brain decided to ask "what if he was Paulina Sanchez's cousin" at the end of a day when I've been working on school and thinking about Paulina, so now we have this. I also kinda imagined this with Jaime as a Teen Titan...)

DP/DC Prompt:
Paulina and Damian twin au combined with Danny and Paulina being dance partners and Danny getting de-aged to a toddler and bad Fenton parents.
For whatever reason, Paulina can't stay with her Papa anymore, and since her dance partner is now a baby and isn't safe in Amity Park, she takes him and runs to Gotham.
Stuff happens and Bruce gets 2 more kids, 1 of which is another bio kid he didn't know about, who also is somehow half dragon?! (Y'all can decide for yourselves what you wanna do with Jazz and Ellie here.)

Danny, to Beast Boy: My former dance partner from my hometown just compared me to a cat for the 10th time in a last hour. I am going to respond by sending her that video of me and you dancing together, with a text that says "I'd say you're irreplaceable, but this guy has some *moves*". I predict that instead of responding, she will immediately figure out how to fly just so she can come here and kick my ass, either for what I said, for not telling her I knew a celebrity, or both.
BB: hang on a sec. Back up. What do you mean Paulina will figure out how to fly?!
Danny: she can turn into a dragon but hasn't figured out how to fly yet.
BB: SHE CAN TURN INTO A DRAGON!?!?!
Someone else, too Danny: It's your funeral.
Danny: little late for that. I've been dead since I was 14 and never got a funeral or a grave. I doubt I'll get either of those things next time I die if I ever die again.
(I imagine this happening a month or 2 after Danny has joined the teen titans (was imagining the version with Damian, so BB and Raven are closer to Damian's age while Starfire is an adult) and Danny is like 15 or 16.)
(Can also switch BB's lines with the unnamed character and it would fit just as well or possibly better.)
Or: Danny and Beast Boy are besties after Danny joined the Teen Titans. 1 of the things they have in common is that they like dancing. Gar has heard a lot about the people Danny cares about, including his former dance partner, Paulina.

DeadOnMain and Starfire/Paulina
Maybe Danny and Paulina joined the Outlaws. Paulina definitely has dragon powers. (~~Can also use the idea I've talked about before with Danny being 1/4th dragon on top of being half ghost while Paulina is half dragon, but up to you~~)
Starfire finds out Paulina wasn't prom queen in a conversation that they had after Danny and Paulina sang a duet version of Teen Idle by MARINA, where they both sang the lines they related to. She asks how Paulina could have lost that popularity contest and who could have possibly beat her, and that's how Danny and Paulina end up explaining that they both had to leave their town and their families and friends in the middle of their sophomore year and they never got to finish highschool.
Danny had been dissected by his parents and Paulina saved him. He had to run away, and Paulina had to go with him for some reason. Maybe Paulina's family was against her being part dragon or maybe they were against her helping a ghost or what ever else you can come up with, but neither of them were safe in Amity. They ran away and didn't get to finish highschool. Not going to highschool wasn't as bad for Danny because school sucked for him. He never got to sleep and didn't have time to study because of the constant ghost attacks, and his grades were terrible because of that. He got the shit beat out of him every day and he was the only one who got in trouble for it. He might not have gotten beaten as much after he became Paulina's dance partner, but school still sucked for the most part. Paulina on the other hand? She was the most popular girl at school. She was Cheer Captain and friends with everyone. Everyone just knew for years ahead of time that she was going to be Prom Queen. She had already designed, sketched, and sewed her own BEAUTIFUL dress for prom. But she never got the chance to go to prom. Because she and Danny had to leave in the middle of sophomore year. Danny knows this hit her hard. She had cried to him about it.
But time moved on. Now, in the present, at the moment when the 2 of them are talking with Jason and Kori, it has been years. They are about the age that people usually start college. Paulina has a job as a model and is working to get her GED so she can move on from her highschool education she never got to finish and so she can go to college. Danny has just signed up for online classes, finally having enough money to finish highschool, having decided that he definitely wants to finish the education he missed out on.

DP(/DC) PROMPT:
Danny got hurt and lost a lot of blood. The only person in town with the same blood type as him is part dragon, but they didn't know that yet because Paulina didn't start breathing fire and growing fangs and claws until a week after she gave Danny some of her blood.
A month later, Danny's core starts to destabilize because the heat that comes with dragon DNA doesn't mix well with his ice core. Purging the dragon DNA from Danny's body is too dangerous. Frostbite and Dorothea know of a charm that could balance the heat of a dragon's inner fire with a ghost's ice core throughout the body of a being with both and keep them from damaging each other, but Danny doesn't have enough dragon DNA for that to be safe. They alter his DNA to make him 1/4 dragon so they can use the charm to save him because he would fade in a week without this being done.
Danny doesn't know how to feel about being even less human now.
The charm that keeps his body and core balanced and stable is given to him as a necklace. (Could be a choker or a regular necklace. I'm leaning towards choker.) He can temporarily take the necklace off without damaging himself, but it starts to hurt after 10 minutes. If he takes it off for 30 seconds, it fills the area around him with a cloud of steam no one can see through, which can work like a smoke bomb without making people cough. Danny and people he's working with have time to get away unseen before the steam clears enough to see.
Danny can transform into a partial dragon form with ears, horns, claws, wings, a tail, and scales, and he already had fangs. Paulina can go full dragon mode because she is half dragon.
Also, his parents react badly to both the half ghost thing and the quarter dragon thing.
Now for the DC part of this. I have a few ideas.
Put Danny on a team with other teenage superheroes. Maybe he's been on the team longer than he's been part dragon! You could explore the angst or hurt/comfort of Danny talking to his team about his core destabilizing and the fact that he has a week to decide to either become even less human or fade. You could explore how Danny's dragon powers mixed with his ghost powers affect the team dynamic and strategies and the team's reaction to finding out they don't need to use as many smoke bombs anymore!
You could make it Dead Serious, whether you decide to create a team for Dami, put Dami and Danny on an existing team where their teammates are mostly older than them, or ignore the team idea. I really wanna see someone explore Dead Serious with Danny being 1/4 dragon, tho.
If shipping isn't your style, you could find a way to put the batfam adopting Danny into this idea instead of using Dead Serious.
Or you could add your own ideas for how Danny being 1/4 dragon could be used in a DP/DC thing!

Sunshine Brats (Danny/Paulina/Damian/Jon), but Danny and Damian are retired heroes still learning that hero work is not their responsibility and that it's okay for them to find something else to do with their lives that is solely for themselves and makes them happy, while Paulina is just starting out as a hero and her and Jon are supporting their boyfriends in finding what makes them happy. Also maybe Paulina is still figuring out her dragon powers while her boyfriends try to help her through it and support her in any way they can while she's trying to figure out being half dragon. I just think Sunshine Brats would be really wholesome and sweet and I need them supporting each other in the ways that each of them need...

Danny and Damian are in love with each other. Paulina and Raven are in love with each other. Raven and Damian think that Danny and Paulina are dating. Danny and Paulina think Damian and Raven are dating.
Danny and Paulina are dance partners. A half dragon and a half ghost. Paulina, as a dragon, needs a lot of affection to be happy. Danny is extremely touch starved even for a human, but ghosts with ice cores tend to be more affectionate, so it's worse. This being said, Paulina asks Danny for cuddles a lot (asking for affection is harder for Danny than climbing a mountain with both hands tied behind his back without using his powers), and Danny just about always says yes. They also sometimes watch stuff together as Paulina tries to get Danny into some shows she likes, and succeeds with some of them.
Damian and Raven hang out a lot, and seem to understand each other really well. (I don't have headcannons about Damian and Raven that make this argument very strong, but maybe they read some of the same books and meditate together?)
Sam knows what's going on and is enjoying the chaos (while possibly crushing on Paulina and Raven)
