Some thoughts on ego...

I am no expert, but I have been thinking about what the ego really means. Immediately, when I think of an egotistical person, I get an image of someone who peacocks around, with their chest out, making it all about "me, me, me".

Then one would assume non-egoistical behavior would be to not talk about yourself and make interactions and situations about others. Generous, right? Not necessarily.

What that person may actually be doing, intentionally or not, is taking themselves out of the interaction while gathering all the intel about others, selfishly giving nothing in return, or worse, presenting a false persona to those in their midst. By not giving of themselves equally and being vulnerable, they will never have authentic interchanges. It could also create a scenario in the future of plausible deniability or to set up nefarious leverage in a negotioation.

Self acceptance, self love and self esteem is not ego. It is knowing who you are so you can be fully present in the moment. It allows you to build and consistently uphold your boundaries for self preservation, in the best sense of the word.

When you hide from others, you miss out on learning more about yourself and begin living in an echo chamber of your own ego. Life is balance, you must process the negative and the positive to be a whole, functioning human being.

It's a toll free service with people who will help you find programs in your community to pay those bills, find food, and find housing! They will give you numbers to call so you can get help.

It is not 100% foolproof. Their job is to direct you to a program they believe will help your current issue, but it's still a step up from praying random strangers online will give you enough cash before a deadline! The added benefit of these community programs, which get funded by the local government most of the time, is if there are more people using them then they can get more money to help more people.

You're not taking resources from other people if you use your community services. Your taxes pay for them. Use them.

My people in the homeland are dying and suffering from the heat. Mexico has always been hot but climate change is making it unbearable. The people of the global south are not the cause of climate change [not that we don’t have pollution or local pollution issues, but not to the degree of rich nations. I am specifically speaking of Mexico here] but they are made to pay the costs, the ultimate toll.

61 lives this month alone. This is not natural. What’s scary is today I saw an article questioning what are the limits of heat a human body can sustain. This is not normal!

What did these 61 humans do? What crime did they commit to be punished for the sin of global pollution. I promise you they must have been the most poor. Who couldn’t afford ac and maybe not even afford an electric fan.

The rich countries pollute and pollute while the global south suffers

The animals are dying, and it’s not good, but it just feels like insult to injury to see a bunch of results over the animals before as many about my dead countrymen.

Brown bodies died. The rich European countries do not care. India, too, is suffering from climate change.

You don’t even hear about the people dead in India unless you go out of your way to seek news about climate change.

The global south burns to death, the poor are the most affected for a crime and sin they had no part in. My heart aches for my Mexico, and all other global south nations disproportionally effected by climate change

i just had a realization that some people in that 100k doesnt make you rich discussion may have considered roommates to count for "combined" income

i feel like if you have roommates youre automatically disqualified from being rich (within reason) like roommate income doesnt count towards combined income even if youre all dating like not to be amatonormative but i feel like being poly throws the whole class by income thing out of wack a bit too much to be considered

household means 1-2 people and dependants only so if you have 3 people and no dependants and your household income is around 100k its fair to say youre probably not rich right
