This is on what Nigeria can learn from the Penobscot River Restoration Project, an impressive innovative project that helped balance the electricity needs of the state of Maine and protecting biodiversity and the ecosystem and now helping restore 11 endangered fish species particularly the Atlantic Salmon back to the Penobscot River.

Lessons include how Nigeria can generate hydroelectricity – energy while ensuring that the environment, ecosystem and biodiversity and the rights of local communities are not compromised and how partnerships/collaborations that are required for lasting development projects can be built.

Photography. Whitewater. Crib. Class V Rapid. The Mighty Penobscot. My first time on this rock, watching the river. I'm usually rafting it - paying NO attention to the people standing on this rock - watching us - waiting to see if we make it through without carnage. The spectators don't keep watching, they probably don't care if you manage to miss Pancake Rock or if you hit it. Oh sure, a love tap is fine, but I've had to stand and put all my body weight into it to try and keep us from flipping...FYI...we didn't flip. This water here is simply too big to be on....apparently it is down from 17,000 CFS to 6,000 CFS now. I think we did, at the highest, 3300 CFS and we were nervous then!
