A couple images of Gman for my au "Our Benefactors"
After Gordon was captured by the combine and made into a combine assassin, Gman was tasked with finding a new employee, as since the timeline has shifted due to the unforeseen event of Gordon being a part of the combine now, it was required for Gman to find a suitable replacement so everything can go back to the way it was initially planned.
Gman put her faith into Alyx Vance, with her being the closest to Gordon's skill level Gman could find, so she made a plan to lure Alyx to her by letting herself get captured by the combine and placed into the vault. However, due to Alyx knowing of Gordon's combine status and the fact that Eli would never die to an advisor in this timeline, she wasn't able to be convinced to become employed by the Gman, and thus never let it out of the vault.
Currently, Gman remains in the vault, now fired by its employers due to failing the tasks laid before it, leaving it without a large portion of its powers and its ability to tell the future, along with it now slowly losing its grasp on its human disguise.

"It's normal for siblings to fight" Okay well it's not normal to be extremely classist and look down on your sister for being non-conforming. Or to go to the woman who ordered the death of your pet to tell her about your father's plans, when he specifically warned you against doing so, because you want to marry the boy you saw attack your sister and her friend (contributing partially to said father's death and your sister being unable to escape on the ship he chartered). Or to think of your sibling as unsatisfactory in comparison to another when you believe her to be dead. I notice that none of the "Sansa and Arya are going to reunite and instantly have no issues" crowd ever acknowledge any of this, which makes it seem like they don't actually believe what they say about their relationship being normal and easily reconciled. People wanting them to have no issues simply because they're siblings is another example of how fandom likes to flatten complex characters and relationships. They get reduced to being bickering siblings when their conflict runs deeper than that. If the author is telling you that they have "deep issues" to work out [X], I don't understand being so adamant about ignoring said issues. I also get the sense it's about ignoring the capacity for a certain character to be flawed, but that isn't going to change the fact that her "slip of the tongue" is very likely to be revealed and a source of further conflict 🤷🏾♀️

It’s a little concerning how a lot of people in this fandom see a character do one bad thing and automatically go “he’s a villain!” Or see a woman be quiet and not have a witty remark for every single line ever spoken to her and go “she’s so boring!”
You know what I think would be boring? The books you so desperately want these to be. 🤷♀️

During MC's villain era.
MC hunts down witch-hunters and burns them to death. Ominis tries to stop her when he and Sebastian finally catch up to her. The man MC has under her wand has burned one single real witch and six innocent young women who rejected him.
Ominis *trying to flee before the Aurors arrive*: Please, MC, you're not as evil as people say you are.
Sebastian *realizing who the man was*: He's right. You're much worse, love. Burn that motherfucker down to ashes!

saw the "who's your most underrated Kleypas hero" question getting bandied about (again) today, and I must say, the only answers I'll accept are:
--John McKenna/Again the Magic (I'd argue that AtM is not the DEEP CUT newer Kleypas readers think it is; before I read it, it was definitely upheld as a classic of hers, but people who want the softer boys she writes in the Ravenels... may not like this one; however, McKenna fucks RIDICULOUS lbr)
--Alex, Lord Raiford/Then Came You (yes... he calls her a bitch.... and I'll be real this made me love him more... he carried her over his shoulder outta Craven's and bought her a bear I'm VERY confident in this choice)
--Kev Merripen/Seduce Me at Sunrise (thought he'd kill Win with his massive dick, tied her up and took her to his fuck cottage, is Heathcliff if Heathcliff wasn't horrible basically)
--Leo Hathaway/Married by Morning (fun bout wounded king, "haha" in the streets and "oh shit" in the sheets, notable for making Catherine ask him to touch her pussy in explicit and specific language)

favourite thing about traumatic flashbacks is the entire concept of it is so stupid that on top of everything I start thinking about how bizarre it is and that would make me derealize the fuck out of this world on its own like I know every annoying mechanism exists for a reason but does it reallyyyyy

While I'm complaining about queer culture on this site, it's noteworthy how to a certain type of user, queer culture is only really considered 'legitimate' if it's specifically things that cis white American gays (and in some cases, specifically cis white American gay men) like, and anything else is seen as less legitimate, even cringe, unless they can be situated as close enough to what those tastes are.
