I mean I get that’s it’s not the only contributing factor, but I’m curious exactly how much of the shelter dog over-population problem is actually due to poor dog ownership/management vs the housing crisis and economical stress. I’d be willing to bet by investing in social programs that give people the resources they need to care for their pets (cough cough affordable and free housing cough cough) that the amount of pets in shelters would dramatically drop. We can all sit here pointing fingers and screaming at each other until we are blue in the face, but if the owners basic needs are not being met, how can we hold them to a basic standard for their pets?

"humans are inherently evil" "humanity deserves to go extinct" okay. if that's the case why are we such a community based species. why have we seen evidence of careful amputations in ancient humans that allowed them to live longer, fuller lives. why do we have thousands of years of evidence of toys made for children by their guardians. why do we consistently find burial sites where the deceased has been buried with items of significance because the people in their life cared about them even after they were gone. why do strangers help strangers without any reward. why are most of the people you meet each day not cruel. we have ALWAYS been kind. I know it is so so easy to get swept up in all the horrible happenings in the world. these things can be extremely important to know about. but please, please please know that there are so many kind people in the world. you are one of them!

Not to be that guy, but saying “I hate all men, including trans men because I’m not transphobic.”, doesn’t make you less hateful. Nor does it make you less transphobic.

You’re essentially saying “if you choose to express yourself in the way that makes you most comfortable, I am going to hate you. I hate you for a core part of your being that has very little to do with whether or not you are actually deserving of hate.”

Discouraging trans men from actually being men because they do not wish for you to hate them, is transandrophobia.

Being a man and/or being masculine is not inherently evil, nor is it worthy of hate. Men are not a monolith and treating them like they are is only pushing them into the “well, you hate me so why should I help you?” camp.

I'm just gonna say it because anyone still active is already in my dms. I hope George learns from his mistakes and takes accountability. I hope he finds a way to apologize directly to Caiti that she can accept and heal from. I hope that he stops drinking. I hope that he doesn't get completely cut off from every friendship he's made over the last decade because nowhere is good without anyone. I hope he works his ass off to regain the trust of the people who were once close to him. I hope everybody, including the fandom, heals and learns to trust people again, because the world is not inherently evil. I hope we all continue to create, and love, and be infinitely passionate about the things that mean the most to us. Saw an icky post!!! Reminder that fictional characters are fictional, you can do whatever you like with them. They're not real. They don't exist. They are Concepts and you can do whatever the fuck you want in the privacy of your own home/blog. research on this subject is very clear that porn and porn consumption itself is not the issue. what causes distress and shame is the culture surrounding porn and the way our society demonizes people for normal sexual feelings.

porn is morally neutral. you are not a bad person for enjoying porn. the real-life porn industry is a shitshow, but there are many ways to enjoy pornography that are entirely harmless. support your favorite independent porn producers.

yes it is important to have hobbies that involve creation and physical action when it is possible or whatever but downgrading anything else to "media consumption" is so deadening. is tv not performance, are animation and cinematography not visual art, is a script not writing? would you deny someone the enjoyment of a story because they can watch it in the comfort of their home? sit down and see the beauty in both the natural and the manmade and maybe you'll stop acting like enjoying tv is a crime
