Percy Jackson is dead.

Percy Jackson on a quest and being separated from everyone in a desert. Percy treading and trying to find them, driving himself to keep going by using Annabeth as motivation.

Percy going for days without food or seeing anything or anyone, trying to summon water to help him. Him becoming too weak to summon water, and collapsing near a gulf. The gulf being nearly a hundred feet away and Percy not being able to make himself walk.

Him uncapping Riptide to try and use it as a walking stick, trying to reach the water. Percy collapsing from all the tiredness of his life, feeling the weight on his shoulders.

Praying to his father to save him, wanting to see his mom one last time; he finally had a life he wanted just for this to happen. Percy thinking he can survive this; he was a war veteran and the savior of Olympus dam it.

Striking Riptide in the sand one last time, knees bucking and making him kneel. Incoherent words slip out of his mouth. He wants to close his eyes and die already.

The ocean comes to greet him one last time, circling around him as a goodbye. Percy thinking of Annabeth for the last time; his life flashing before his eyes. Everything he went through. Everything he was willing to save.

Riptide does not turn into a pen anymore. It stayed in the sand, awaiting the next great hero. But no one will be great as Percy.

Percy Jackson collapsing in the sand, all water leaving his body as he takes his last breath.

Percy Jackson is dead. And no one came to save him like he's saved many.
