A cat with dwarfism is melting hearts while playing in the garden modified by her owner
Pets with dwarfism are susceptible to various health problems such as obesity, heart and lung problems, and mobility issues. There is no specific treatment available for animal dwarfism but there are ways for pet owners to make the lives of their pets easier and more fulfilling. A TikToker under the username @figgypuddin has a cat with dwarfism and is doing something amazing for her…

What is dwarfism in cats? Causes and symptoms
Although certain felines are naturally shorter than others, feline dwarfism is frequently linked to a variety of health problems. A genetic condition causes dwarfism in cats, and certain cat breeds, like the Munchkin, selectively breed cats with this genetic disorder. Read More...

my addition for disability pride month
Parents: please teach your children about disability. Teach them that all bodies are different. Teach them that not everyone is like them and that’s okay, diversity makes life exciting!
Almost every time I take my wheelchair out, these kids are just staring at me like I’m glowing fluorescent green. It’s like they’ve never seen someone in a wheelchair before. When I tic, kids look at me shocked and a little freaked out.
And yes, I know they’re kids! I understand that they don’t know everything yet. But guess what? That’s your job as their parent. Not mine. Not any disabled person’s.
show your children pictures of people in wheelchairs, videos by and of autistic adults stimming, videos by people with facial differences, of people with limb differences, people with Down syndrome, people with dwarfism, people that use nasal cannulas, and so on.
Kids are not inherently going to be afraid of or rude to disabled people, not if you as the parent educate them from a young age. Teach them to be kind, not to stare, not to pet service animals.
We aren’t rare; your kid will come across us. We’re not “inspiring” OR “scary.” We’re people. That’s it. Educate them first so these are positive experiences! 💜

It would indeed make sense - I mused, my incredulity abated - for a vampire to have a nix hound for a hunting companion. I imagine their sensory faculties are very much alike - if the account of Galur Rethari is to be believed. I'd normally not speak that name aloud, but the hour was late and the few guests of Varo Tradehouse had already retired for the night, leaving bar room all but empty. Didn't you say this undead ashlander has been around for centuries i.e. would this pet of his not have died by now? Ah - rejoined my interlocutor - surely you've heard of death hounds, flying bats and like familiars of western vampires? Perhaps this nix hound is immortal too. I imagine there are vampiric rituals to do that to mortal creatures. Especially those naturally drinking blood. On the cusp of being overwhelmed by images of mixed packs of nix hounds and vampires gaining on their prey with inexorable certainty, I prompted our conversation back on topic: Grazelands is a land of giant creatures, how come his is but a size of a dog? Yes, funny that. Dwarfism, I suppose, or somesuch. It's an advantage really - helps with hiding in the thick of wickweat fields, grazelandic nix hounds being tan of colour, as you know. It wouldn't help, I recon, any against cliffracers that flock the eastern slopes of Red Mountain, so tis well he has the mer to protect him.
Grazelands is vast and harbours ever stranger things, than a vampire coming to a rescue of a stranger, so by the time we parted ways I came around to half-believing in the story of this Fela-dryn.
P.S: Fela-dryn and nix hound Scuttler are @jenarion 's OCs.

Photo ID: two screenshots, one of a past post titled "Please discontinue fantasy 'dwarves'" that can be found here, detailing why fantastical "dwarves" we know from myths and legends featured in media such as Lord of the Rings are problematic. The second is a comment from that post that reads "I doubt that real people care that much about naming cool fantasy creatures (I mean, who wouldn't like to be associated with tough dwarves who have beautiful deep singing voices?) and more about governmental institutions giving them better opportunities"
Hey there lovelies! I received this comment a while ago and I wanted to take a moment to delve into it further - because it really touches on why I started this blog in the first place, and what it's become since then.
I mostly started posting to spread awareness for little people through means of real world education, but due to the nature of tumblr, I was quickly picked up by the fantasy and writing community. I now break down dwarfism representation in media because that's what there's been a demand for (I've now been a consultant on several published written pieces). And we know that the ways marginalized communities are represented in shows, movies, books and even board games affect the way people see them in the real world - it creates stereotypes, bias, and sometimes hatred or disgust. It matters that most of the media out there depicts little people as non-human, burly, labouring creatures. It matters that most films make a laughing stock of bodies like mine. These depictions are the remnants of a world that enslaved little people, that put us on display, owned us as pets, made us entertainment.
Activism is fought at many fronts - whether it be legislation, public access, human rights, or representation. On this platform I reach over 1800 people, many of whom are authors, artists, creators and character designers. I do my part to change some minds, and in the real world I do public speaking, community outreach, and sticker graffiti (I'm also writing a book). There are lots of other little people fighting for all kinds of things - I'm doing what I can with the spoons that I have, and hopefully that inspires some progress.

OM! Pet HCs Part 3
Leviathan:
Henry 2.0, a Devildom Goldfish with dwarfism. Whilst your typical Devildom Goldfish would grow to a size of 1 metre, Henry is stunted to the size of a human world piranha. Henry’s personality is,,, well, he’s a goldfish. He’s hungry, poops and is big, idk what personality to gather from that. But uhh yeah.
Despite Leviathan often talking to Henry, Levi has no real way to communicate with the fish, as Devildom goldfish don’t have the mental capacity to house thoughts complex enough to form sentences. Even when talking with a being who can speak to fish, he merely produces babbles.
So every time Leviathan is caught talking to Henry, it’s an entirely one way conversation. Never the less their bond is strong as ever.
Devildom Goldfish are Omnivorous and consume anything, and I mean ANYTHING in sight, from plants, to garbage, to other fish, (as such Henry 2.0 is kept alone in his tank for fear of his tankmates safety). They’re actually considered quite the pest in the wild due to their tendency to swiftly diminish a waterways resources. However Leviathan just sees this as them both being outcasts. Loners, shunned by society.
Likes: Leviathan
Dislikes: Nobody
Also, I know canonically Levi’s goldfish is the size of a normal human goldfish. But I wanted an excuse to come up with a demon goldfish, and I can think of nothing scarier then a normal goldfish, but big enough to eat everything around it.

Monster Hunter-Baby the Mizutsune(?)
That's right, I decided to give Kasumi's neck accessory/pet, Baby the Mizutsune(first seen here), her very own ref. image; whether or not this thing is actually a baby & not possibly an adult Mizutsune who's been gifted with the Absolute Worst case of dwarfism is anyone's guess
(But given the fact that she hasn't grown an inch since Kasumi obtained her, well….)

Is anyone else starting to get a little weirded out by Tubbo, TinaKitten, and other CCs in their circles making increasing comments about keeping people as pets? Like, I understand that they likely don't mean it in a malicious way, but it's starting to get... gross. Especially because 'keeping' people has a lot of horrific historic context. Starts with an s, ends with an e, runs in the same vein as ‘keeping/owning people’, and we all should’ve learned about it in school? Even in the 'pet' nature there’s so much awful history surrounding it. Court Dwarves are just one glaring example and something I also only learned about recently. (More info can be found Here by Dwarfism History.) There were also other people who were dehumanized, taken, and kept for someone else's amusement, most often by British/European royalty. They were treated and kept like pets. Even if that wasn't their specific title.
It's also just such casual dehumanization of people that's really weird and becoming concerningly more frequent. Especially when they're streaming to a potentially younger audience and normalizing this behavior. Again, I don't think there's any purposefully malicious intent behind it, so don't attack or harass them. I also don't think they're awful people, they're just unaware and I, personally, want to help people grow. So let's not joke about keeping people as pets anymore, yeah? It's not cute and it's not funny.
EDIT 2: Also, as I've just watched the unbanning vod from the subathon, Tubbo egged on his whole chat to keep a random recently unbanned chatter as a 'pet' and that's uh. That's immediately concerning. This is not a friend of his who he can comfortably joke with like that and he should not be joking or egging on his chat to dehumanize someone like that. That's not cool and even Billzo said it wasn't okay.
Link Here - Timestamp: 16:47 - 17:12
EDIT 1: Changed it a bit so it doesn't seem like I'm saying Court Dwarves were the only example of human pets. <3

Welcome to some random more disappointing updates about farm life.
Things in a life like this are constantly changing and with all the good comes some sad. Though aint none of you know that much about me or anything I just wanted a place to post my thoughts.
After a lengthy conversation, I've made the decision to sell one of my Gilts (female pig) Dolly. She has been posted on this blog before. I got her a few months back as a prospect gilt and show pig, she has been a small grower and didn't make weight in time. So since then (the first week of August) she has been a freeloader. I love her and she was going to be a breeding sow next year, but since my younger siblings decided to start showing hogs we don't have the space or extra change to feed a mouth that can't turn a profit. (that may sound harsh but those are the things I have to think about when it comes to my operation). However since she carries potential, and is sired by an Ohio State Champion boar Ive decided to sell her as a breeding prospect and not bring her to the sales barn. On sadder news, as this conversation came up about getting rid of some of the animals we can't have a use for, Tick came into the conversation. Tick is my two-year-old pet Angus bull, he was born a second twin and due to inbreeding of club calf genetics, he has dwarfism. Along with that, he has something called Spastic Paresis. This is an unfixable muscular disability, that usually affects dairy cattle, and which can't be cured but can be livable if the animal is not in pain. During the summertime he was thriving, we got him in August of 2023, and he was steady, healthy, and not in pain since. But as of recent months, we've seen a slow decline in quality of life. My #1 goal is to make sure all my animals have a quality of life and when they don't the only morally correct thing to do is humane euthanasia. Though I said he was mine, it is better to say he is my mom's pet bull, and she has a tough time making these decisions. She has been putting it off but has also realized that as the colder months come he will only get worse. He does not seem to be in pain but he does seem uncomfortable, his mobility has gotten worse and so has his ability to hold on to weight. So in the next months, we will have to put him to sleep and bury him under the Oak tree. These types of decisions, both of them, are hard but necessary to make. Due to the stigma against farmers, you don't really hear this side of the industry but I am not going to hide it. Through both good and bad we have to make choices.

Everyone agreeing that, besides the ones with dwarfism, the therian characters are huge, significantly larger than humans, but then seeing these two fellas and going "little babys. small asf. shorter than the average human. Robert in Accounting has five inches on them."
Y'all saw that they were just random ass house pets and got the memo.
Also, gagged by JP Samotwt's fixation on Kitty MC's snatched, slut waist. They keep getting man handled- HALPHGHSGS 💀

I've been rearing my Napoleon since he was a baby (I found him in the gutter outside my house). He appears to have multiple congenital deformities including dwarfism, unintentionally contributing to a stereotype about his species, but that's not what I'm worried about.
My Napoleon is in his teen years now, but he's not met any of his developmental milestones. He has no interest in waging wars or ruling countries, not even in history. All he wants to do is spend time with my cat and steal my gaming console to scream at people over Xbox Live. I try to interest him in conquest like I'm supposed to, but he doesn't care, he just wants to play sports with my neighbours' pets, who have no connection to the napoleonic ecosystem at all. He's good at math, at least. If I hadn't had him genetically tested, I wouldn't even believe that he's a Napoleon. Should I take him to the vet? I have no idea what could be wrong with him, I did everything by the book :(
Awww. What a lil baby!
Don't worry too much about the developmental milestones. It's true, by their teens, Napoleons usually are wrapping up their expertise at artillery, and they should have completed their first two campaigns in their twenties, and they should crown around thirty ---
But not always. Slow and steady wins the race, sometimes. A Napoleon in an upcoming documentary series doesn't crown until he's in his fifties!
Tumblr media
Do you think this Napoleon was already conquering and to conquer when he was 25? Nah. He might've also just been screaming at people on X-Box live.
Let your Napoleon develop at his comfort level. He very well might just be resting up!

Yep !! At this point I have two cows on my own property since I've been moving away from cattle and into pigs.
I have a pet bill with dwarfism named Tick (the black one) he's a rescue idiot. And then I have a Holstein (failed)show steer named Nimi, he was raised for show but is incredibly dangerous so he's going bye bye soon.
