I was in a PetSmart and Hatsune Miku was trying to sell me a hamster. I bought the hamster along with $160 worth of hamster equipment.

When betta fish are sold in tiny cups, many people assume that they do well in small spaces with minimal maintenance or equipment such as heaters or filters.

Tiny betta fish aquariums can only be profitable if consumers misunderstand the needs of betta fish.

Manufacturers like Aqueon, Marina, Penn-Plax Pet Products, and others are still making tiny betta kits -- some as low as 0.25 gal.

These companies are making money off of the suffering of bettas; they are profiting from the misconceptions that they perpetuate.

Betta fish are resilient and are capable of surviving in low-quality conditions.

Bettas should have an aquarium that is a minimum of five gallons, a heater, filter, and lots of plants and hiding spaces to create a stimulating environment.

ok I know y’all probably have heard this before, but PetSmart is incredibly negligent for their care of aquatic pets. Especially Betta Fish.

This is how PetSmart wants you to see them:

A happy, healthy Betta Fish. Well, this is how they look in their stores:

Betta fish need a minimum 3 gallon tank, a heater, filter, plants and hiding places, and to be out of sight of other male bettas. These Bettas being sold are in literal plastic cups. They stay there until they are bought or die. They swim in their own waste, get fungal and bacterial infections, and even self-mutilate due to stress and boredom.

THIS is an ideal setup for a single Betta:

They haven’t responded, which I totally expected. This is just a reminder that pet store corporations don’t give a shit about the animals in their care. Don’t buy Bettas from PetSmart, and if you have, do your research to provide them the proper care they need.

Crowley tells you he is a demon

You have been in a relationship for about a year now, and crowley hasn't told you he is a demon. In fact you have never seen him without his sunglasses on. Right now you're at aziraphale's shop, crowley is obviously ready to go home but you can tell there is a reason he doesn't want to go home.

After another few hours at the bookshop you head home, in the car crowley is definitely nervous about something. His legs are shaking, he hasn't said a word or even looked at you. You rest your hand on his thigh and rub his leg with your thumb.

Once you get home he sits you on the couch then sits by you. He looks at you and opens his mouth to speak.... Nothing comes out. After a few attempts still nothing comes out. "I have something I need to tell you" he looks at you, his whole body is trembling, he doesn't look you in the eye. "Well.......I.........there is.......umm..mmmmm." an assortment of words and noises but no sentences.

He takes his sunglasses off, you can see tears fall from his face. He doesn't even look at you. "I'm not.....well....human" it came out quiet and weak, forced maybe. He looks at you his beautiful golden eyes fully dilated, no eye white left to be seen just yellow (and of course his pupils).

You place your hand on his but he pulls his hand away slowly and looks back down at his lap. You grab his face and cup his cheeks, you look him directly in the eyes "wow" is all that comes out when you open your mouth to speak. Crowley looks surprised and ashamed, a rush of small relief runs over him. "They are beautiful, like the sun." You let go of his face and wipe his tears that still remain.

After a few minutes he turns to the coffee table and reach's for his glasses, without thinking you grab his wrist. Stopping him from grabbing his sunglasses, he looks at you and you release his wrist.

After a few hours of talking you take him outside (his glasses are on now because he is outside) and you call a cab.

You arrive at PetSmart "what is this place?" crowley asks while walking towards the door "you'll see." You take him to the car section, while he is distracted you walk away and head to the reptiles area. You find the perfect snake, an all black with yellow eyes snake (I know crowley as a snake had red but shut up) you also grab a few frozen mice and the necessities for a snake. You check out and get crowley from the cat section.

You call another cab "so whatcha got there?" he asks during the car ride. "You'll see, but when we get home I need you to do me a favor and stay out of the living room until I say you can come in." Crowley nods.

You arrive at the house. Crowley goes to the plant room and you start setting up the snake area. Once your done you call for crowley, he walks in and immediately notices the snake. He takes off his sunglasses, he looks at you and hen the snake and hen back at you. He walks closer to the snake and looks at it. "Why don't you feed Anthony, our new pet?" You say handing him the unthawed mouse.

He looks at you in awe and drops his glasses. Crowley grabbed the mouse and fed the snake. A few hours later you catch him just sitting on the couch staring at Anthony. "I take it you like him then?" You say as you giggled and walk over to the couch. You sit down. Crowley lays his head on your chest "you don't even know." You happen to glance over and see Crowley's glasses sitting by the snakes "cage".

After a few minutes you look down and notice Crowley was already asleep. You play with his for a little bit and think about all that happened, you look over at Anthony and think about how much pressure came off of his back when he told you he was a demon, and how scared he must of been. You also think about how happy and relieved to know you accepted him. You look back to your chest and see Crowley. You lay your head back and relax.

Dozing off in time with snuggles from your favorite demon. <3

I was at a Petsmart but instead of kennels, all of the puppies and kitties had their very own mini camping tents. They all seemed to enjoy it. :)

What kind of existence is that?

This happens all the time at large chains like PetSmart and Petco where betta fish may die in transport or in tiny cups on the shelves.

It's not the fault of employees.

Betta fish are living beings and their lives should never have to depend on whether staff have the time or they get sold fast enough.

The corporate leadership of these chains is responsible for setting standards and policies, and for ensuring that the well-being of all pets in all of their stores is consistently prioritized.

These stores *consistently* have shelves of sick and dead pets.

This company has institutionalized opportunistic price gouging. Here‘s how it works: you go on line and look up what you need and get a price. In my case it was Fresh Step® Simply Unscented Clumping Multi-Cat Clay Cat Litter - Unscented, Low Dust 42lbs $22.99. They charge that with free shipping or at store pickup where they bring it out and load it into your trunk. BUT when you go into the store and load it into a cart and go to check out it’s $27.99. $5 MORE????

If you complain they tell you they can price match and adjust the price.

PRICE MATCH???? BS! Charging me what you advertise on your website is NOT price matching that’s called truth in advertising and good corporate governance!

Why is everything in this freakin country deteriorating into buyer beware scams????
