Do you care if people use the gif search feature to use your gif in a post.

Secondly Do you care if people is a gif you make as a reaction gif. Not a repost at all, as a traditional reaction gif ala something like the Britney yeah.gif.

what a weird thing to ask bc i was just thinking about this today ALDHALSH

so one thing about me if youll notice in my bitchy rants in tags is i HAAAAAAAAATE when artists do not get credit for their work. if i see art that is uncredited, i will go out of my way to try and find the artist and link to the source on the post. it makes me insane that in 2023 this isnt fucking common sense, not only is it just a dick thing to take away from someone's hars work and creativity to get your own clout, but it also actively impacts small businesses selling their art

that all said. i feel like reaction gifs/images SPECIFICALLY transcend this. i do not think using a gif just to, like. react to shit is negatively impacting anyone. in fact its rather an honor to have ppl expressing their feelings around the intenet bc of something you created. and i think in this context ppl are not using a reaction gif to like steal clout or claim it as their own; its a way to communicate. and i think if theres even a chance your gif could become a reaction gif, you should watermark that bad boy. (i think we should go back to artists obnoxiously watermarking absolutely EVERYTHING in the age of ai theft but thats another conversation)

also i feel i am allowed to say this to some degree since over the years a few of my stupid shitty edits ive created i have been floating around ie these two

Thinking thinking of a cursed Ladynoir. Their memories get wiped each time they detransform. So they know they are superheroes but they just dont know what happens.

Ladynoir falls in love. But Adrienette thinks its just a silly internet thing so they dont really pay attention to it.

Oh they kissed? Lol we're french someone probably angled their photographt wrong or photoshop.

Oh Ladybug tickles Chat Noir's chin? Eh maybe he had some fleas on him or something.

Blog Evolution....

So I made a few adjustments to what I am doing here with this blog.

First, I have ditched the name "photobythomas" which I have used for years now. I will stop using this name because it felt stale. I will now work under the moniker of stomach17. This is actually an older art name going back to the early 90s. As Shakespeare once said: What's in a name?

Second , this blog, which is my main blog will now compile all my imagery in all genres. I have a vast amount of nature and travel imagery, portraiture, aerial photographt, object studies, etc that I would like to share. That said, ai suppose I a, still foremost a photographer in the urban context, just as I am an urban dweller.

Speaking of which, I suppose I could mention that I just signed a extension contract andthus I will remain an educator in Beijing, China for the foreseeable future.

I have lots of stuff I wish to share about my home here in Asia. I am intending to return to Tibet and Nepal this summer. I hope that some of you will take a look! And I likewise look forward to seeing and being inspired by the new things you share. To be honest, though I do use others, tumblr may be the only social media I truly respect. Mayb we all can keep growing and inspiring one another....
