Popular Science Of Photorejuvenation: What Are IPL, DPL, OPT, AOPT And E-Light?
Article source: https://www.litonlaser.com/what-are-ipl-dpl-opt-aopt-and-e-light/
Photorejuvenation is an advanced high-tech beauty project that uses a specific wide-spectrum color light (removing ultraviolet rays, purple, and blue optical fibers that damage the skin). It is a strong light similar to laser but not laser. It directly irradiates the skin surface, penetrates deep into the skin, and selectively acts on subcutaneous pigments or capillaries. At the same time, it can stimulate the regeneration of subcutaneous collagen to a certain extent.
But it is different from laser. Laser has only one wavelength. Intense pulsed light is a continuous multi-wavelength incoherent light with a wavelength range of 500 to 1200nm. Because it can emit multiple wavelengths of light at the same time, it can cover multiple absorption peaks of multiple target color bases such as melanin, oxidized hemoglobin, water, etc.
The completion of photorejuvenation beauty projects often requires high-quality IPL machines. How much do you know about IPL intense pulsed light technology?
Tumblr media
1. What is IPL (intense pulsed light) beauty technology?
IPL is the abbreviation of intense pulsed light, also known as Photorejuvenation, with a wavelength range of generally 500 to 1200nm. Use light and heat to allow the skin to repair itself and promote the proliferation and arrangement of collagen and elastic fibers. Its functions are comprehensive and extensive, including removing spots and whitening, removing red blood streaks, shrinking pores, fading acne scars, and fading fine lines.
To understand what intense pulsed light is, we need to introduce the concept of electromagnetic radiation. Electromagnetic radiation is the energy transmitted in the form of waves by electric fields and magnetic fields in space. The interaction between electric fields and magnetic fields produces electromagnetic waves, which are emitted or propagated into the air to form electromagnetic radiation. Radio waves, microwaves, infrared rays, visible light, and ultraviolet rays are all electromagnetic radiation. Visible light is part of the electromagnetic spectrum. The colors of the rainbow we usually talk about, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple, are visible light, but a large part of the light is invisible. The wavelength of intense pulsed light IPL is in the electromagnetic spectrum. It is a non-laser light source. The strong light emitted is concentrated and filtered to form a wide spectrum light, and the wavelength is mostly between 500-1200nm.
When IPL (wavelength 500-1200nm) acts on the skin, based on the principle of selective photothermal action, the spectrum of this band can be selectively absorbed by target color groups such as melanin, water and hemoglobin, which can improve skin epidermal spots, dull skin color, and vascular problems such as red blood streaks, inflammatory acne scars, and stimulate collagen regeneration, thereby improving the performance of skin photoaging and achieving the purpose of true skin rejuvenation. This is also the origin of “photon skin rejuvenation”.
2. What are the indications for photon skin rejuvenation?
Fine lines and mild sagging on the face.
Want to improve skin condition and enhance skin elasticity and smoothness.
There are spots and freckles.
The face is rough and dark, with acne scars, red blood streaks, and large pores.
The first three situations can generally have a more obvious improvement in the first time; the fourth situation requires 3-5 times to have a more obvious effect.
3. What is DPL (Delicate Pulse Light)?
The traditional IPL spectrum range is wide (400-1200nm). Even the usual coating filter only filters the energy of the short-wavelength part of the light. For example, the 560 treatment head only filters the light waves between 400-560nm, leaving the light wave range of 560-1200nm. Such treatment may not be accurate enough, the target tissues in the skin that can absorb light are complex, or it may cause unnecessary strong pain.
DPL is a method of using IPL to simulate the narrow spectrum of laser. It filters the wavelengths of the wide spectrum IPL at both ends, leaving a narrow spectrum energy in the middle, which can achieve the treatment effect and reduce the impact and pain of unnecessary light waves on the skin. For example, a certain DPL treatment head has a wavelength range of 550-650nm. It retains a high absorption spectrum range for pigments and hemoglobin, which has a good effect on the treatment of spots, red blood streaks, etc. DPL also has high requirements for hardware and IPL power supply. It must provide a very high total light output energy, otherwise the narrow wavelength light energy left after filtering is insufficient and cannot effectively destroy the target tissue to achieve the desired effect.
Therefore, DPL is a high-end upgraded version of IPL. The spectrum range is narrower, the accuracy is higher, and the targeting is stronger. The wavelength range is 550~650nm, and the excellent absorption rate of melanin, oxygen and hemoglobin are all within this range, which can improve vascular diseases and pigmentary diseases. DPL contains a sliding mode, which is more friendly to sensitive skin.
There are two different handpieces of 500-600nm and 550-650nm, which only intercept the middle 100nm band. Because the spectrum is narrower and the treatment is more precise, it is also called precision light.
3.1 DPL500 handle (500nm-600nm).
There are two hemoglobin absorption peaks at 542 and 577nm in the 500-600nm band, so it is very effective in treating superficial vascular problems such as facial capillary dilation and flushing. At the same time, it can promote the release of inflammatory factors after heating of vascular endothelial cells, which is beneficial to the proliferation of fibroblasts, thereby producing collagen and achieving the effect of skin rejuvenation.
The spectrum of intense pulsed light is compressed within 500 to 600nm, and contains two oxygenated hemoglobin absorption peaks. The spectrum is more targeted and is used for the treatment of vascular diseases such as capillary dilation, post-acne erythema, facial flushing, and port wine stains.
3.2 DPL500 handle (550nm-650nm).
The 550-650nm handpiece is in a special band where melanin absorption is high and hemoglobin absorption decreases rapidly, so this band is most advantageous for melanin problems. Therefore, it is more accurate and efficient to treat pigmented lesions. The spectrum of intense pulsed light is compressed within 550 to 650nm, while ensuring the ratio of melanin absorption rate and penetration depth, and is used to treat pigmentary diseases such as freckles, sun spots, and age spots.
Tumblr media
4. What is OPT (Optimal Pulse Technology)?
OPT: Optimal Pulse Technology, perfect pulse technology. The uneven peak wave of traditional photon pulse energy is optimized into a square wave with equal pulse energy. The photothermal effect can reach the deep layer of the skin, which is better than IPL.
Early IPL had some inherent shortcomings. Due to its power supply capacity and insufficient control circuit design, its sub-pulses could not achieve true balanced output, resulting in a situation of “one effort, then decline, and then exhaustion”. It is impossible to achieve the ideal therapeutic effect of balanced output of multiple sub-pulses. The emergence of OPT technology has basically solved the above problems. This type of equipment has good hardware configuration and is relatively expensive. Effect: It has obvious effects in removing spots and whitening, stimulating collagen, and has strong comprehensive ability. It can play a certain role in skin rejuvenation, firming, shrinking pores, and fading fine lines. The operation is more stable than IPL and the effect is better.
5. What is AOPT (Advanced Optimal Pulse Technology)?
AOPT: Advanced Optimal Pulse Technology, an upgrade of OPT, a more advanced perfect pulse technology, adding filters specifically for acne and blood vessels on the basis of OPT. . This technology allows the energy density of a single sub-pulse to be adjusted. For high-level doctors, this iteration of technology can make subtle adjustments to the treatment details according to the skin condition of the beauty seeker. Doctors with high standards and high requirements for treatment will like to explore this AOPT.
6. Does E-light also belong to IPL?
E-light is a combination of light energy + radio frequency, which has stronger penetration and more targeted effects, reduces the energy of light energy, and can be used for sensitive skin.
Through some clinical tests, it is believed that under the synergistic effect of radio frequency (RF), the light emitted by IPL plus radio frequency can penetrate the target tissue in the dermis more effectively.
The basic meaning of “E light” is to add a set of radio frequency emission electrode plates on both sides of the light-guiding crystal of the IPL treatment head, and emit radio frequency energy before and after IPL light irradiation to heat the skin. The combination of light emission and radio frequency reduces the impedance of the target tissue, achieving more effective selective heating of the target tissue, thereby more effectively obtaining the treatment effect, such as hair removal.
7. Other types of IPL technology (NIP, BBL).
NIR (near infrared light): commonly known as milk light, the light energy wavelength is longer, the depth is deeper, and the skin rejuvenation effect is relatively more prominent. The selected spectrum is 900-1600nm, the peak is 1300nm. Because NIR penetrates deeper than visible pulse light (it is the deeper penetration among light and laser), it can penetrate the epidermis and directly heat the water molecules in the dermis, stimulate the increase of collagen, and make the skin tighter.
BBL (Broad Brand Light): In contrast to DPL, it has a wider spectrum range, more uniform light, and a wider range of applications. Direct translation is broad spectrum light, which is the same as IPL intense pulsed light. It has up to ten, uniform energy output, and mild effect. There are also literatures that support the gene sequence that can reverse photoaging of the skin and reduce the phenomenon of delayed skin photochemical reaction.
Tumblr media
8. How to choose a suitable IPL beauty machine?
Photorejuvenation is still a hot beauty project today, and it is still the main service in Europe and America. Through the article, we also know that the machine that realizes photorejuvenation is IPL intense pulsed light beauty equipment, among which OPT, DPL, AOPT, E light, NIR, BBL, and even SHR mode and other technologies are all branches and upgrades of IPL technology. To some extent, they can all be called IPL!
So how should we judge and buy such a popular machine?
As a beauty machine manufacturer and optoelectronic training institution, Litonlaser can tell you that if you need to do a good job in the beauty project of photorejuvenation, you need to consider three factors.
8.1 IPL handles with different wavelength ranges can achieve different functions.
Although IPL is a technology that belongs to a range of light waves, the longer the wavelength, the deeper it reaches the skin, so different wavelengths can enter different skin layers, thereby achieving different skin functions.
8.2 The level of the operator also determines the effect of the beauty project.
We all know that the more skilled the operator is, the easier it is for him to achieve customer satisfaction. Each photoelectric treatment requires experience. We, Litonlaser, have conducted clinical treatments on a variety of beauty projects and a variety of skin groups, and obtained the treatment endpoint response of photoelectric beauty.
We need operators to master the endpoint response of each beauty treatment so that the final effect can be achieved.
8.3 A stable and reliable IPL beauty machine is a key step.
In addition to the above two, we also need to go back to the machine itself. A good machine can make us even stronger! For IPL machines, it mainly operates through circuits and waterways, and dual channels, so we require stable and uniform light output, which requires safe and reliable machine manufacturing experience!
Litonlaser started producing the first IPL in 2005, and now has almost 20 years of experience in producing IPL machines. Our machines use stable and uniform laser bars, and there will be no problems in 5 years. For the water source, we require all customers to use distilled water! Only clean water can make the light output through the water flow complete and uniform. The spot size should be uniform and the output energy should be stable. These are the conditions required for excellent IPL equipment.
All of our Litonlaser IPL machines can meet these conditions, and according to the needs of different customers, there are different configurations, including portable IPL beauty machines, E-light IPL machines, OPT machines, DPL machines, and each machine can be equipped with radio frequency and SHR (fast hair removal mode).
If you need to order an IPL machine, or are interested in beauty machine training, please feel free to contact us: Beauty machine manufacturer LITONLASER.

Dermal Fillers | Injectable Facial Fillers | Skin Fillers
Dermal fillers are used in aesthetic treatments to address the loss of volume in your skin, to fill wrinkles, or to plump a certain part of your face, such as the lips. They are composed of hyaluronic acid, a carbohydrate (sugar derivative) that develops naturally throughout the body. Hyaluronic acid stimulates collagen and other skin matrix components to improve skin elasticity and hydration in addition to improving volume. At the Ottawa Derm Centre, we use a variety of dermal fillers to address each patients’ aesthetic goals.
Who is an ideal candidate for dermal fillers?
Individuals looking to soften the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and sunken areas on the face can benefit from dermal fillers, as well as those looking to plump up a certain part of their face. It is a great option for those looking for subtle improvements without undergoing surgery or experiencing any downtime.
In consultation with one of our specialists, we will determine whether you are a suitable candidate for dermal filler. This will depend on your treatment goals, coupled with your age, skin quality and condition, and genetics. Women who are pregnant or breast feeding should postpone this treatment.

Is there any downtime with a dermal filler?
Most patients return to their regular activities immediately following their treatment. Some patients may experience temporary redness, bruising or minor swelling of the treated area in the first 24 to 48 hours following the treatment. It may be recommended to avoid physical exercise for the first 24 hours post treatment.
How does it feel?
Each patient will require different amounts of the product to obtain their ideal and natural results. Before your treatment, the targeted area will be cleaned, and a topical numbing cream may be applied to ensure your comfort. A small syringe will be used to inject a precise amount of filler beneath the skin. The injection itself feels kind of like a splinter, but if it’s done properly, the pain should go away right away. The lips may swell a little for a few hours after the procedure. It can feel a bit unsettling, but it should never be painful.
How long does a treatment take?
Your dermal filler procedure can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. This will depend on the area being treated, and the amount of filler required. If a topical numbing cream is used, you will need to wait approximately an hour for it to settle before the treatment can commence.
When will I notice results?
You will see a visible result immediately after injection. It may take up to 4 weeks for the filler to fully integrate into the tissue.  We advise our patients to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated after treatment, as hyaluronic-based fillers are water-binding. Results may last anywhere from 6-18 months depending on the type and amount of filler used.
How much is a dermal filler?
At ODC we charge $750 per syringe.
How do I book a treatment?
All our patients start with a thorough consultation.  During your visit, we will discuss your objectives and concerns. Our team of professionals will complete an assessment and make recommendations that support your health and well-being.  If you are deemed a good candidate, we will be able to book your dermal filler treatment.

Unveiling the Science and Solutions behind Deep Pigmentation Treatment
In the journey towards achieving flawless Skin Pigmentation Treatment in Hyderabad, one of the most common hurdles individuals face is pigmentation. Whether its freckles, age spots, or melisma, these skin discolorations can be a source of frustration for many. Fortunately, advancements in dermatology have paved the way for effective treatments targeting deep pigmentation, offering renewed hope and confidence to those seeking a brighter complexion.
Understanding Deep Pigmentation
Before delving into treatments, it's crucial to understand what causes deep pigmentation. The primary culprit behind Pigmentation Treatment in Hyderabad discoloration is the overproduction of melanin, the pigment responsible for the color of our skin, hair, and eyes. This overproduction can be triggered by various factors, including sun exposure, hormonal changes, inflammation, and genetics.
Deep pigmentation refers to discoloration that penetrates deeper layers of the skin, making it more challenging to treat compared face pigmentation treatment in Hyderabad to surface-level pigmentation. Conditions such as melasma, characterized by brown or grayish patches on the face, often involve deeper layers of the Skin Pigmentation Clinic in Hyderabad and require targeted interventions for effective resolution.
The Quest for Effective Treatment
Historically, treating deep pigmentation posed significant challenges, with limited options yielding inconsistent results. However, advancements in dermatological techniques and technologies have revolutionized the approach to pigmentation treatment, offering more effective and predictable outcomes.
1. Topical Treatments:
Topical treatments remain a cornerstone in addressing deep pigmentation. Ingredients such as hydroquinone, kojic acid, retinoid, and vitamin C are commonly used to inhibit melanin production, lighten existing pigmentation, and promote skin renewal.
2. Chemical Peels:
Chemical peels are another popular Skin Pigmentation in Hyderabad option for addressing deep pigmentation. By applying a solution containing exfoliating agents such as alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs), beta hydroxyl acids (BHAs), or trichloroacetic acid (TCA), chemical peels effectively remove the top layers of the skin, revealing fresh, evenly pigmented skin underneath.
3. Laser Therapy:
Laser therapy has emerged as a game-changer in the treatment of Pigmentation Treatment for Skin in Hyderabad. Various laser systems, including Q-switched lasers and fractional lasers, target melanin in the skin, breaking it down and stimulating the body's natural healing response. This results in the gradual fading of pigmented lesions and overall skin rejuvenation. Laser treatments are highly customizable, allowing dermatologists to tailor the intensity and wavelength to suit each patient's unique needs.
4. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy:
IPL therapy, often referred to as photofacial or photorejuvenation, utilizes broad-spectrum light to target pigmented lesions and vascular imperfections in the skin. This non-invasive treatment option is particularly effective for addressing sun-induced pigmentation laser treatment for pigmentation in Hyderabad and can also improve overall skin texture and tone. Multiple sessions may be required for optimal results, with minimal downtime and discomfort.
5. Micro needling with Radiofrequency:
Micro needling combined with radiofrequency (RF) energy is another innovative approach to treating deep pigmentation. This treatment involves the use of tiny needles to create micro-injuries in the skin, followed by the delivery of RF energy deep into the dermis.
The Road to Radiant Skin
In conclusion, deep pigmentation no longer needs to be a source of distress, thanks to the advancements in dermatological treatments. Whether through topical therapies, chemical peels, laser interventions, or innovative technologies, achieving a brighter, more evenly pigmented complexion is within reach. By partnering with a skilled dermatologist and embracing a comprehensive approach to skincare, individuals can embark on a journey towards radiant, confidence-boosting skin.

Photofacial treatment in indirapuram | Dermatologist In indirapuram
Photo facial, using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology, is a skin brightening and tightening laser facial in which a special bandwidth of light focuses on melanin, collagen, and hemoglobin. The light generates a special type of heat that helps to decrease melanin; thereby, lightening pigmentation and also stimulating collagen resulting in tightening and rejuvenating aging skin. Another benefit achieved by this light is in shrinking dilated capillaries in the skin thereby reducing redness and improving conditions such as Rosacea. Complete treatment involves at least 3-4 sessions and this can be combined with other treatments in between the sessions to give maximum results.
For how long does it take for laser Photofacial treatments to work?
Most people require 3-5 months, which contains a series of 3-5 treatments about 1 month apart. You should see some enhancement with each therapy. The more sun damage or redness you have, the more probable it is to need a full 5 treatment sessions.
Do IPL Photofacial treatments hurt?
There may be moderate discomfort throughout the treatment, but many individuals tolerate the removal of dilated blood vessels or age spots/freckles as well as fine lines quite easily.
How long does each visit normally take?
Treatment typically takes 30-90 minutes, depending on the size of the therapy area.
What results can I expect from Photofacial or Photorejuvenation treatment?
After your initial treatment, you can anticipate seeing some redness, darkening of brown spots, and in some cases light swelling. These symptoms will go away in several hours to one week. Makeup could be promptly used if wanted. After the treatment, your skin will feel smoother as well as have a more even tone. A gradual decrease in overall redness, flushing, and age spots, as well as the removal of fine lines and wrinkles, will certainly be much more visible after each treatment.
Will the IPL Photofacial treatment make me more sensitive to sunlight?
No, it will not. You could have the treatment done at any time of the year. You can apply sunblock as advised which will also minimize redness, brownish spots, creases, etc.
Does the Photofacial have any type of side effects?
The primary adverse effects are mild, temporary swelling, inflammation, redness, slight darkening of brown spots, crusting, as well as an occasional bruise or tiny surface blister (like a sunburn blister).

Topical Treatments
One of the most accessible and widely used methods for treating skin pigmentation is through topical treatments. These creams, serums, and lotions usually contain active ingredients such as hydroquinone, retinoids, kojic acid, or vitamin C. These ingredients work by inhibiting the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin coloration. Regular application of these topical treatments can gradually lighten dark spots and even out skin tone over time. It's important to note that consistency and patience are key when using topical treatments, as visible results may take several weeks or months.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are another popular option for treating skin pigmentation. This procedure involves applying a chemical solution to the skin, which exfoliates the outermost layer and promotes the growth of new, healthier skin cells. Chemical peels are available in different strengths, and the type of peel used depends on the severity of pigmentation and the desired results. Superficial peels are milder and require little to no downtime, while medium and deep peels may involve a longer recovery period. Chemical peels can effectively lighten dark spots and improve overall skin texture, giving you a more radiant appearance.
Laser Therapy
Laser therapy has emerged as a highly effective treatment for various skin conditions, including pigmentation issues. Different types of lasers can target melanin in the skin, breaking down the excess pigment and stimulating collagen production. The specific laser treatment used will depend on the nature and depth of pigmentation. Laser therapy can be used to treat specific spots or larger areas of pigmentation, and it often requires multiple sessions to achieve optimal results. This non-invasive procedure can be performed with minimal discomfort and downtime, making it a popular choice for many individuals seeking skin pigmentation treatment.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a gentle exfoliation technique that can improve the appearance of pigmented skin. During the procedure, a device sprays tiny crystals onto the skin's surface, effectively removing dead skin cells and promoting cell turnover. By removing the outer layer of skin, microdermabrasion helps fade dark spots and enhances the penetration of topical treatments. It is a non-invasive procedure that requires no downtime, allowing you to resume your regular activities immediately.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy, also known as photorejuvenation, utilizes pulses of light to target and break down melanin in the skin. This treatment is particularly effective for addressing issues such as sunspots, freckles, and other types of pigmentation caused by sun damage. IPL therapy can also improve overall skin texture and tone. The number of sessions required varies depending on the individual's skin condition, and minimal downtime is associated with this procedure.
Conclusion
Dealing with dark, patchy spots on the skin can be frustrating, but with the advancements in skin pigmentation treatments, achieving a more even complexion is within reach. From topical treatments to laser therapy, there are various options available to suit different skin types and conditions. It is important to consult with a Best Dermatologist In Jaipur or skincare professional who can assess your specific needs and recommend the most suitable treatment plan for you. By taking the right approach and being consistent with your chosen treatment, you can effectively reduce or eliminate skin pigmentation, revealing a smoother, more radiant complexion.

Achieving Relief from Rosacea: Comprehensive Treatment at Geria Dermatology
Tumblr media
Rosacea, a chronic inflammatory skin condition, is widely recognized by its telltale signs: flushed cheeks, visible blood vessels, and small bumps similar to pimples. Often misconstrued as "adult acne," rosacea affects over 14 million Americans, primarily fair-skinned adult women. As benign as it might seem, rosacea can considerably impact your quality of life, leading to frustration, embarrassment, and diminished self-esteem.
At Geria Dermatology, located in Rutherford and Verona, New Jersey, we understand the physical and emotional toll that rosacea can have on individuals. Driven by a deep commitment to skin health, our board-certified dermatologists are dedicated to helping patients manage their rosacea symptoms and improve their overall skin wellness.
Rosacea manifests as red patches primarily on the nose and cheeks, potentially spreading to the forehead, chin, and even the ears, chest, or back. While the condition might not always cause discomfort, it can make the skin feel sensitive, hot, raw, or tender. It's often mistaken for eczema or allergies, making an accurate diagnosis crucial for effective treatment.
The causes of rosacea remain elusive to medical researchers. However, genetic predisposition and immune system functionality, along with certain environmental triggers such as intense exercise, emotional stress, extreme weather conditions, consumption of hot drinks, spicy foods, caffeine, and alcohol, certain cosmetics and medications, and menopause, are all believed to influence its development and severity.
At Geria Dermatology, we customize treatment plans for rosacea based on its type and severity:
Erythematous Rosacea: This mild form of rosacea results in easy skin flushing, often triggered by certain foods, drinks, heat, or sun exposure. We recommend avoiding known triggers and if the redness persists, our laser photorejuvenation treatments can target the blood vessels in your skin. We may also suggest using a green-tinted moisturizer to mask the redness.
Papulopustular Rosacea: Characterized by persistent redness and small, red, pus-filled bumps, this moderate form of rosacea is treatable with topical creams, lotions, gels, and washes, or oral antibiotics to reduce surface bacteria and decrease inflammation.
Phymatous Rosacea: This severe form of rosacea causes the oil glands to enlarge, leading to a bulbous, red nose and puffy cheeks. In such cases, surgery is often the best treatment option.
At Geria Dermatology, you'll experience more than just clinical treatment. Our waiting area is warm, welcoming, and comfortable. Our staff is friendly and our doctors truly listen to your concerns. Dr. Geria, in particular, is known for his patient-first approach, treating everyone as if they are a longtime friend or family. This level of personalized care and professionalism ensures you feel at ease from the moment you step into our clinic until you leave.
Rosacea might be a lifelong condition, but it doesn't have to control your life. If you are struggling to manage your rosacea, don't hesitate to reach out to Geria Dermatology today. Schedule a consultation and let us guide you towards the path of long-lasting relief and improved quality of life.
