They may not be as popular as the Olympics or the FIFA World Cup, but the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) are a big deal in this region.
They're seen as a way of showcasing the aspirations and vision of the host country as well as preparing athletes for bigger global competitions.
But it appears things are not going well for this year's host, the Philippines.
The build-up to their hosting of the 30th SEA Games this weekend has been mired in controversy, over allegations of spending irregularities, unfinished venues and poor treatment of athletes.
Social media has been abuzz with images of visiting athletes sleeping on the floor or on airport benches because of logistical errors. The hashtag #SEAGamesFail began trending.

BLOG ENTRY 3
GUIDE QUESTION:
Write a short reflection about your activities (performance-based task 1&2). Explain your thoughts about the historical foundations, legal basis, and curricular reforms in the Pihilippines.
The activities we have done in this subject opened my mind about how education in the Philippines founded. We all know that we need education to be successful. We need to be educated so that we'll know.
I must say that even before the Spanish colonized us, education is already existing in the country. But it is informal, such as, hunting, weaving and other cultural traditions that is used by the ancestors in their daily lives or chores.
And then when Spanish colonizers touch down to our land there was a change happened in the education. However, education in the Philippines only became formal during the American Period.
The revisions of the curriculum continues to happened until at the present time, we have K-12 Curriculum which aims to have a globally competitive students. In accordance to this, government need to invest more in education because it is behind the people and the nations success.
