This brick was painted as a simple treasured reminder of the people that were part of my first college experience. A friend collected bricks after the school closed and was eventually torn down to rebuild housing for the community. Before it was Pinebrook Junior College, it was an orphanage, Sacred Heart Home. Children lived and learned here. Even after a few decades, I can still picture the small, personal touch that the professors, staff and other classmates provided. I’m still able to see and hear from many of the classmates I graduated with. Some special loved ones are gone, while others press on. Thank you, beloved PJC family for helping to instill the resourcefulness, and Christ centered education that helped develop my faith. As I reflect back, I see how foundational truths were found and built on here.
