Hey dear, I hope you had the best of times yesterday and so naturally I want to ask if there’ll be a little planica dump at some point?🫶

hello thereee, i had a blast, it was truly an experience witnessing all of it, specially because i remember planica 2016 when pero won the globe being my first time there and being there yesterday as well, when he ended his career, felt like a completed circle

to be honest i don't have much content for the planica dump, i wanted to take it easy and enjoy the competition, and over the years i have become less starstruck (can you believe it) so i don't have any autographs/selfies

but there were some cute moments, like domen giving ema his bouquet and poking her on the nose, pero lifting her over the fence because she didn't see, ema and cene's girlfriend comparing heigths (lol) and nika and cene watching pero's show together

also lovro screaming at us to yell for pero, žiga always sticking around because he was commentating on the national tv and semenič also being there

apart form that i didn't see many precious moments because i was a bit back and couldn't see the leaderbox

but all in all, i wanted to be there to witness this historic moment and i am so glad i bought the tickets last minute

there was a re-run of the planica 2016 final competition and i’m in tears i-

karle was such a smol bean and most of norwegians had red suits and kenneth gangnes was so so good (!) and pero won and then robi put on the head of the mascot and ran to him and tackled him down and then continued to spray him with the champagne and it was the most beautiful competition and the podium and the atmosphere was just ... planica and i remember being there basically crying and okay bye it was perfect thank you for coming to my ted talk

Day 1 - Tell us a little about yourself and how you started to watch ski jumping

Well, hello there, I’m Zosia, 26 y/o from Poland  😊   

I started the same way as most Poles of my generation – in 2001, my first memories of ski jumping being Małysz’s win in 4HT 2000/01. But that’s not what brought me to fandom here, on Tumblr. It started with depression I had in early 2016. Ever since I began recovering from it, I’ve been finding joy again in things that I liked as a child. One of those turned out to be ski jumping. To name the very moment, it was 1st January 2017. I’ve been spending New Year’s Day at my friend’s place, after celebrations I had a little hangover. I ended up watching TV with her mother. Polish house, New Year’s Day, what else could be on? Ski jumping, 4HT, Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Until that day, I haven’t really watched sj for like 6-7 years. Yet, as I was watching, familiar names started to pop up. Name of location clicked immediately – I could recite it no problem. I stayed until the end of a comp, remember it was Daniel who won it, with Kamil right behind him (also imagine my surprise when learning there’s not one, but three members of the Prevc family in one comp 😂). Innsbruck I wasn’t watching – friend’s mom felt however sj sparked my interest and told me the results. Bischofshofen I followed on my own – via text transmission – didn’t know you could watch it on TVP Sport’s site back then 😅 For a month I lived like that and then found not-very-legal stream of Eurosport – for a different reason than sj, but with my dumb luck, the next thing transmitted after what I was watching, was sj, this time Oberstdorf. And what a meme fest that was! Paper planes, waiting game, Robert Lewandowski coming and what not. I am hooked ever since and hardly missed any competition. Fandom on Tumblr I discovered the week Sapporo 2017 was. Oh, and right before Planica 2017 the streaming site was taken down and I moved to legal Eurosport  😂

Was supposed to be “a little”, is not, I had a lot to say, enjoy 😘

Women's

Ok, so, the reason I love the 2012/13 podium in Oslo (1. Sarah Hendrickson 2. Sara Takanashi 3. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger) is not only the women on the podium but also the fact that the comp before that in Trondheim was the exact same podium in the same order and the 2nd Ljubno competition of the season before also was exactly the same. The other three podiums are excellent too, just look at them: Hinzenbach 2014/15 (1. Carina Vogt 2. Daniela Iraschko-Stolz 3. Špela Rogelj), Planica 2013/14 (1. Sara Takanashi 2. Yuki Ito 3. Julia Clair) and Rasnov 2017/18 (1. Maren Lundby 2. Katharina Althaus 3. Nika Križnar)

Pictures from Dead poets society aka Domen reminded me of Domen winning, so maybe Ruka 2016? When Domen won and we can remember the good times when Severin was second

oooh that’s a nice idea anon!!! a friend suggested planica 2019 earlier, so i’ll try find that first, but if i can’t find it anywhere, then i’ll put this on! and even if i do find it, i could do this one on sunday if people are up for another stream quite close to the previous one.

alternatively, i could watch it on my own and cry alone in my bedroom, bc that’s always an option
