I am fighting with my art,

I want it to be perfect,

She just wants me to start.

She said she’ll do the rest

But I’m scared it won’t be the best.

It always has to be the best.

And so my hands are tied in loops

Of roller coaster hoops

Going round and round again and again

Never allowing me to actually begin

Stuck in hesitation

Filled with methodical information.

But the swoop the feel,

It seems to be gone.

The path me and her once walked along,

She stands waiting alone.

Looking at me, waiting.

While I drive circles around perfect

Forcing my hand on asphaltos streets

Instead of her flowery paths with leaves.

I do my best to get back to her,

Sometimes we even walk a few steps together.

I hope one day we will skip along again

And I’ll never stray from her path within.
