Enchanted Forest with Joxter

I'm painting again... From completed to the sketch, progress!

Been a hard minute so glad I picked up a brush.

Practiced making felt flowers, it was too bright for Snufkin but perfect on Moomin.

Snufkin's backpack is now done! And his harmonica came in with the buckles. It ended up being the perfect size. Still waiting for the lantern. And still trying to get the tarot cards printed. I did find playing cards the right size and I really want a set so I'll grab it for fun. Everything thing else will be made later.

I'm using mobile atm since my PC fully died and with my root canal appointment coming up, I can't really afford to fix or replace it but I'm going to try to borrow a PC or tablet so it's easier to post.

I re-made the eyes, honestly I made several but liked this set best. Made a wig and then made his hat. I'll probably remake the wig later, but this works for now.

The wig is made from acrylic yarn wefts on 4way stretch nylon fabric.

Hopefully I can get the scarf and boots soonish so he's complete.

So I finished Snufkin's and Moomin's love seat, that way they fit in the chair better and Moomin won't fall off so easily. And finished up a few small details on my willow tree. Unfortunately, my craft room was too hot and the resin for the water speed cured, so now I have a blob of resin. I'll probably make it into something later or have it put into a lathe.

Snufkin's face-up is getting a bit closer to being done. I added some light freckles because they are cute... I plan on trying to make a wig by hand. Unfortunately, the pants wouldn't bleach, so he's stuck with black pants until I either make some or buy a new pair. I also found a pair of boots and a scarf for him that I plan on ordering when I can. (Mainly after I try making a wig so if I can't manage making one, I can buy a cheap one.) The boots are a bit different from what I was wanting, but I can't seem to find a pair that looks like his boots without going over $20. (And I am poor, so $20 is the largest amount I'll spend on shoes for a doll, and it'll have to wait a while...)

I'm taking a bit longer to do my crafts lately since I have a very bad tooth that needs a root canal asap and that'll cost me $1200 out of pocket because I don't have dental insurance... Needless to say, I'm not sleeping much because of the pain. I'll be saving up the next few months doing the few odd jobs I can, so I can get to the dentist and get this fixed. But that also means the crafts will be slower on finishing, since my little bit of craft money will be set aside for my teeth instead. Then I'll get back to crafting more when I can afford craft supplies again.

Also, please note that this is not a BJD, he's just a cheap peg-joint doll with a BJD practice head that I ended up with. I 100% bought the body, just because I had the head already from a mix-up with my craft supplies order from last summer.

Second also, I'm working on more needle felt Moomin characters. (Still working on Joxter...) So what character would y'all like seeing next? I've done- Snufkin (though, he's still missing his face...), Moomin (lots of sleeping moomies...), Little My, Too-Ticky, The Groke, and Salome the Little Creep. I can do different versions of the characters as well, btw.

It's almost done! Still need to add the fabric, but I'll need more hot glue for that, so it'll have to wait a bit. The back panel, seat panel, and the base will be glued together after I add the fabric. They both fit nicely, so much happier with the fit. Now to pick out the fabric to use and make a dollar store run for more hot glue.

Digital practice since I got an updated slim pen for my Huion tablet. The second page displays part of the layer tap.

The Huion slim pen has $20 off on amazon for any other artists with small hands. I only ordered because it was cheap enough, plus it's my christmas to myself so my hands don't hurt so bad after drawing a while.

Almost done with the backpack! Still waiting on the buckles so I can add the straps. I also started collecting little things to put in the bag. So far I have a few mini pocket knives and a few shells I had laying around. Then a scrap piece of fabric for a blanket. I'm going to try to print off some mini tarot cards. I'm also waiting for the mini kerosene lamp and harmonica that I ordered a while back. I'm considering making his whole camping setup. I'm sure I can make a mini fishing pole and the gear to go with it, in clay. And I do already know how to make tents on a smaller scale but for now, the canvas roll is fine. And in the 1990s version, he had a pan, a few plates, cups, and a kettle. Plus, I'd make his tobacco pouch. I plan on making a book/journal and mini letters too. Anything else I should consider making or get to go with it?
