I might hang myself right side down and drip dry my self from swinging hooks, so that you might have room to make a home beneath my skin.
I want your hands against these bones which ache, too much, for your touch, and for your heart to beat in unison alongside the endless murmurs of mine.
I wouldn’t mind having you under this skin, so would it be too much to ask, to have you make your way in?

Not every sweet word I had received from the world tasted like honey.
Not every person I met in this world had an empathic heart.
With time, I learned that not all souls are the same.
And not all words taste the same.
Many hearts will hate you, and many will love you.

I write to you, of you, not because our souls are intertwined, neither because you're mine or I'm yours, but because I do not know of any other audience, for these thoughts, in the form of mere words, for this fragmented existence, which reveals through the cracks of past experiences, to lose itself in the captivating beauty, that is yourself.

falling in love.
there are not many people I come across that impress me. few that amuse me.
amusement may spark an interest. but it takes so much more to brew love.
tonight I don't crave being loved. tonight I crave falling in love. and you know, you know there was not much I knew when I was fourteen but I knew one thing right — you cannot fall in love, the true kind of love, if in that equation you are not loved back.
love is energy. that energy is an exchange. it is not one sided. not the love you know soul-deep.
and tonight that's the love I crave. the man I will fall in love. whose existence will make my heart happy, my soul calm, and my mind eleated.
yes, that's what I crave. falling in love.
it's equal in its presence, in its intensity, in its gentleness. it's the meeting of two souls. that's what the spark is. and when those two souls stay? that's what the spark evolves into — true love.
I've felt the spark one too many times but it always flickered too soon and extinguished if I was lucky or charred everything around me if I was not.
when did the spark get to evolve fully? never, not once.
but now that is what I want. the evolution of the spark. the stability of love. the surety. the equality of love. the meeting of two souls. the building and nurturing of a language of the two souls; a universe only they know and in the presence of which they glow with peace and contentment.

This too, will cease.
Like each before it, it will crumble.
Like every meeting of the lips, where in time we must draw away, like every time I’ve held you in my arms, but had eventually to let you slip away,
this too, will cease.
And like every time my eyes met yours, or my skin, felt the heat of your flesh against itself,
my eyes will draw away, and your warmth will be forgotten.
This too will cease.
And my body will move from yours, forever in the opposite direction.
And my thoughts will lose sight of you, and so too, will my mind.
This too, like every other meeting of the heart, with either you, or anyone else, will cease.

And I will search for you in the library,
If you don't live in books.
Then will find you in the stars,
If you don't shine like stars.
Then I will find you in the depths of oceans,
If you don't bloom on the surface of the sea.
Then, I will find you in the cosmos,
beyond this terrestrial life.
No matter how long it takes,
but I will find you, my love, I will find you.

I could spend all my mornings
Wrapped up in blankets
Like this--your hand in mine
My head on your chest
Wallowing in our lazy Sunday best
Betting on endless tomorrows
The relentless sun seeks us out
Wishing to shine as bright and hot
No such luck but it gets us up
Still I sip my coffee with a smile
Drain the last drop while you wrestle
With the urge for a smoke
Instead you light on my lips
Zoom in till there's zero room for doubts
Then you're wearing my grin
As if it's always been that easy
Effortless, like nothing else
I've never known moments
Like this could exist
Prompts: you and I this morning; wrestling with smoke; still I

What it means to go easy on yourself
When you are having a hard time, the way you can go easy on yourself is by allowing yourself to be instead of trying to find answers to everything right away and fix things as if there are instant solutions to such deep-rooted problems and patterns.
Going easy on yourself does not mean indulging in self-destructive behaviour that will make you feel good for maybe a few hours or desperately seeking instant gratification in any way and form you can find.
It means not jumping to conclusions or thinking too deeply or forcing yourself to figure it all out. It means eating well, getting enough sleep, brushing your hair, and having fruit.
It means laughing with a friend, going for a walk or lying down on the cool marble floor in Shavasana. It means constantly filling your bottle of water and carrying it everywhere with you and reading good books the ones that give you some comfort and leave you with a sense of warmth and hope.
It means engaging yourself in things that allow you to breathe a little better as you do all the functional things life is demanding out of you, like work and chores.
Going easy on yourself during such times means you don’t take yourself so seriously because that is the quickest way to skinny dip in rabbit holes and camp there for extended periods. It also means that you say no to things and people who make you feel anxious, conscious, and uneasy. Yes, you should step out of your comfort zone and push yourself and all that but there is a time and place for that. And when you’re feeling such heaviness of being, that is not it.
Not demanding more from yourself, not caving into the demands of others, not using your sadness and pain as an excuse to fall back on maladaptive coping mechanisms, not getting existential about everything — that’s what it means to go easy on yourself. So, please, do go easy.

You've become so accustomed to yourself that sometimes you forget your own worth. Days blend into each other, making everything seem ordinary – from your appearance to the way you express yourself and understand the world. But it's those moments when someone reminds you of your uniqueness – your beauty, your kindness, your intelligence – that truly warm your heart. Hearing these affirmations from others helps you see the beauty in yourself. However, not everyone sees you the way you do. Some may not appreciate your light, and instead, they may cast shadows of envy or doubt. It's easy to get caught up in comparing yourself to others, but remember, you're on your own journey. Take a moment to reflect on the little things that make you special. Your presence in this world is more meaningful than you realize – it's like discovering magic in the ordinary. -Sparkandashes
