Well uh... it was realpokemon, at least at first. There was also pokelogy. And another early few I saw were untitledducklett and koffing-time.

why did you join pokeblr?

Well, I love Pokemon and roleplaying and getting involved in communities is fun. At first I wasn't sure what to do for my role-playing character. But I remembered that I already had the idea for Silverleaf sitting around so I figured it would be cool to role-play as him.

what inspired your character?

Oh boy... this is kind of a long one? And would have spoilers for some of my plans. So uh... I'll give the spoiler free version, but it won't be the whole story.

Basically in high school I had a friend who Game Mastered a few sessions of Pokemon themed ttrpg. Anyway the friend group had terrible object permanence so we kept forgetting to continue the game.

But I liked the idea of mastering my own game so I started working on it. I didn't get super far in making up a made-up region. But I did come out of it with two things I really liked from the region (basically the only things I devolved really). Those two things were the villain team [who I will not give further details on rn] and the professor. The professor being Silverleaf, of course.

The general idea of Silverleaf was around for like 2 years, sitting on the metaphorical shelf, until the end of last summer. I was in a submas discord group and there was a channel for talking about ocs. With this group I further developed the ideas of both Silverleaf and the villain team.

I actually started writing a fanfic about Silverleaf but put it on the shelf to work on other stuff, but I do plan to go back to it and finish it and then start posting it.

But yeah... I thought it would be fun to role-play as this character. I do say, it gives me motivation to want to finish that fic.

May as well make a log here as well: I've also started Pokemon Emerald! I've been playing it at work on phone via an emulator since I can't take the 3ds to work.

So far, I got my starter Doogle, a team of cuties, a Skitty (named after your favorite pink cat UwU), and I just beat Roxanne! Having a great time so far :)

YUI!

SHE! IS! SO! CUTE! HER NAME IS YUI AND SHE’S ADORABLE! She’s what’s called a ‘Popplio’ (even her species name is cute!!) - a water-type with appearance similar to that of a Seel, but blue! Damien chose to start his journey from scratch in Alola so he got a starter too! He went for Rowlet - a cute little grass-type hoothoot-esk pokemon! He wasn’t going to nickname any of his pokemon at first, but I managed to convince him otherwise (with a bit of help from the Professor and Kahuna Hala that is).  And thus, begrudgingly, Damien’s Rowlet was named Koro

There’s no stores in Iki town, so Damien showed me to Hau’oli City and gave me the full tour - he even waited for me while I picked out some new clothes! They had a sale on some apparently “defect” tops that had been made “too long”, so of course they were perfect for me! I ended up choosing the Alola Sea ‘Dress’ and a pair of navy blue casual shorts to go underneath! (Although I did buy a bunch of extra clothes, just in case!) Yui and Koro both gave clear signs of approval, and Damien… well he was probably bored out of his mind so he only gave a quick nod before picking up the bags of my other clothes. Maybe he didn’t know what to say when a dude wears a dress?

It was a slow walk back to Damien’s house, but it was nice since we got to let Yui and Koro have some fresh air. I may have got my starter today, but we don’t start out Island Challenge for another few days, so I have plenty of time to get back into battling, Damien even offered to re-teach me the basics! Ah, Katiya just called us for dinner, alola for now!
