Alright, after putting it off for a bit (due to real life being busy and also I got lazy), I’ve finally gone through and prepared the list of ships for the tournament! Congrats to the lucky 64, and apologies to anyone else whose ship didn’t make it in. I did appreciate every single entry that followed the rules, though, and all the infodumps made me smile!

Before the list, however, I wanna say that this post and the eventual bracket matchup post are going to double as places to post your propaganda via replies and reblogs (or even asks). Going forward, I will use whatever propaganda people add to the posts/send via asks with permission to add as propaganda on the eventual bracket matches. By adding any sort of replies/tags/etc to any further tournament-related posts, you are consenting to having that propaganda added into the tournament. If you are uncomfortable with this, please state it outright on any posts/asks you might send.

But for real the original things I looked up referred to him as a robot, so I hadn't looked much further than that since I am still doing deeper analysis on characters anatomy.

If this is true then it is a cyborg and will be disqualified from being in the poll. It is under one more stage of consideration still though. If it shows active distain for it's human parts, even to downright refusal to think of or refer to them It almost feels rude to call it a cyborg. (But maybe I'm just getting sympathetic seeing his name so often, since he can't actually know.)

I've also noticed that when I search cyborg next to it's name a lot of them throw technically in the front and still use robot regularly after saying it.

(Also guys this is starting to make me think a cyborg poll needs to come to life fr. That knife wielding plant and Murderbot clearly need to get in A ring.)

@seolh You are 100% correct! I felt like the show runners did really like her, but they didn't know what to do with her which is a shame.

Wolverine and the X-Men might not be a favorite show of me with any favorite interpretations of character personalities, but it did a really fantastic job utilizing Kitty's powers and that was really freaking cool!

Also today they could rightfully make her bisexual and bring Danielle back as her girlfriend. And obviously the show would have to have some queer solidarity and the lesbian Amara becomes a good friend and they hang out a lot! 😅

Hey! Quick question: will the polls be balanced? (Aka a balance in the case of "a popular fic goes against a popular one so the smaller ones don't get overshadowed) And if so, how does the balancing mechanism work?

That's actually something I didn't take into consideration before but you're right i should definitely do that

what makes a poll a seeded poll?

Good question!

The best way I can explain this is that by collecting votes for nominations prior to the tourney, I'll get at least a small picture of how well I can project certain contenders to do in their match-ups.

I can use other data, mostly by searching tumblr tags for corresponding characters, to see how popular they appear to be. The higher both of these numbers are, the higher their seed.

To prevent characters who should by all means face off in the final from facing one another in the first round, seeds are constructed thusly:

This doesn't mean that an underdog can't win! They absolutely can, but it makes things a little more balanced in the long run.
