Finally finished the donut commission!!! These are for my nieces for Christmas. The older one specifically asked for a donut necklace. If this doesn't win me the favourite auntie tile nothing will! Polymer Clay, glass Seed beads and sterling silver findings. (Silver because of my nieces are anything like the rest of us, alloy metal findings turn our skin green and give us rashes). I used polyester thread for strength, because they are for children after all. Turns out UV resin makes the clay bend when on a large enough surface. Only used it for jewelry pieces up until now. Redoing these ornaments with glaze. They’ll be in the shop soon.

Playing around with some minimal earring designs ✨ Earrings tend to be the most popular item to make out of polymer clay. Although that's great it also means the market is already fairly saturated! I purposefully steered clear of earrings for a while because of this (why add to something that already works?). Having said that, seeing so many earrings has made me want to make some for myself! I'm not a statement earring kind of person so wanted to create something that was more minimal and refined. I'm fairly pleased with the final outcome especially given the fact they actually function as earrings (always a plus). Still some fiddling to do with the sizing and findings (i.e. metal bits), but they're good enough for the time being. Interested to know which shape is your favourite?
